Hey all. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm really not used to making these interest checks so please forgive me if this is far from fantastic. The reason I decided to make this post was because I have a rather particular craving that I know may not be exactly the most popular topic on this site. Sports. While I too like video games, anime and various TV shows, my secret passion is sports. I am an aspiring Sports Journalist and have been an avid fan of sports for as long as I can remember. So while I usually would be more than happy to explore some fantastical worlds and uniquely twisted plots, today I want to focus on trying to start a Sports RP.
What you can expect from me.
Commitment! I have been absolutely dying to try an RP of this genre. I will come fully stocked with various plots for all sorts of levels of whatever sport we decide on. I am willing to play a multitude of characters to establish unique teammates, each with their own strengths and skills as well as opposing teams that will make for fiery rivalries!
Semi-Frequent Posting. While I am in fact a college student, I still manage to have a distinct lack of a social life. I guess in this case that's a good thing? That means you can expect OOC Chatter from me on a daily basis and expect posts on a semi-daily basis. (It depends on how in depth each post is and what projects I am currently tackling.)
OOC Chatter. Hopefully we can become friends! I'd love to not only talk about the development of our RP but I'd love to get to know you and what your interests are. I'm totally down for exchanging Discord or other messenger info as well if you are interested!
Knowledgeable. I like to at least think that I know the ins and outs of most levels of the sports of Baseball, Football (American) and Basketball. From High School to Professional levels I know the inner workings of how a team operates (as much as an outsider can at least) and what it takes to play different sports as well as specialties within each sport. Yes. I'm a huge sports nerd.
Literacy and Length. I tend to be very critical of my own writing. So I won't tell you that my writing will be phenomenal. But as you can see (hopefully) from reading this, I can write and I can write a lot. At least somewhat well. Again. I'm probably way too critical of myself. (Sample writing can be provided if you want)
What I would like to be able to expect from you.
Commitment. While I know this RP may not be a priority by any means, I still would like a certain level of commitment from my partners. This means engaging in the RP, talking OOC (if you want) and putting forth a solid effort.
Knowledge. I don't expect you to be an expert to any extent. However, it would seriously help if you knew the basics of whatever sport you would like to RP about. Things such as positions and basic strategies involved with playing. (I'm a strategy nut, but trust me I will make this RP exciting!)
Literacy and Effort. When I say literacy, I mean being able to put words into paragraphs and simple stuff. Ideally I would like someone who could write 2 paragraphs or more at a minimum, however, if you are actively interested and put effort into the RP then I will always make an exception.
What to expect in the RP.
I will likely play a coach or assistant coach of some sort as my main character. However, that being said, you can expect that I will invest heavily in introducing new, unique and exciting characters to play alongside our main characters. I would like to explore various aspects of sports that come with winning and losing at multiple levels of the sport. This would involve training and becoming better both as a team and individual characters. I am open to also incorporating various side plots as well, such as romance, school or family topics.
This could kinda be inspired by shows like Diamond No Ace, Kuroko No Basket or Last Chance U!
