Spirit Tied Pet

Hit Me!
Any revision suggestions on this charm?  Personally, I don't like it much.  It gives the same effect as the familiar background, but for cheaper, and in addition to the familiar background.  It is intended to bestow an additional familiar to a character that already has one, right?  Jalith in the dawn caste book has two familiars, so that's what I'm assuming.  With STP, you can tie a chipmunk to you at level 5 for 5 xp and get a semi-permanent personal essence boost.

One my players was asking if he could STP an existing familiar making it more powerful, which gave me the idea for a new charm I would put higher up on the survival tree that I'll submit a writeup for later.

That's the munchkiny way to look at it, yes.

What it does it helps the character in gaining a worthwhile companion for a lifetime (or until you stop treating it a such).  It shouldn't however just be a way to gather more background points.

The function of the Charm is to:

  1. Create a familiar if you do not have one already as a Background, or
  2. Replace a lost familiar
