overview.
Congratulations! You've been accepted to Southview Soulmate University! Our facility prides itself on preparing our students for the workforce, future knowledge, or even just for starting a family with their soulmates! As we've had incidents where students have never been told about soulmates, we've included an info packet on them, as well as the different species and our organizations.
A soulmate is a person, or people who are destined to be with you. You are bound to them with a thread of fate connected to your ring finger, the color depending on what kind of soulmates you are. More on that later, but the first words you say to them will be etched onto their right arm. People have multiple soulmates, but normally meet only 1-3 in a lifetime. The highest recorded amount of found soulmates was six. However, we here at Southview have a system which makes it easier to find your soulmate, seeing as how they probably are going to this very university.
Now, as I said, the thread color determines what type of soulmate you are. Red means current soulmates, white means they were soulmates in a past life, blue means future soulmates, black means their threads were cut in this life or the previous one, and there is one last type of thread we'll get to in a moment. You can have multiple threads of different colors, but are expected to choose one of your soulmates in this case.
Now, Seers are the professors at our academy. They have a special ability and if they focus, they are able to see another person's threads. Typically, a person can only see their own thread when they are nearby their soulmate. Their powers come with a downside, in that most seers don't have soulmates. However, seers also have the ability, through a magical ceremony, to cut or create threads. If a thread is cut, the soulmates in question will fall out of love and possibly even forget one another. This effect can be reset within three days, but it becomes permanent after that point. Seers can create artificial threads as well, which are fairly similar to other threads, though they are purple in color. They also can actually be cut, just with scissors by the people who possess the threads. They also may break naturally if the couple drifts apart.
roles
info.
werewolves
open
Werewolves are half human, half wolf and can transform into this creature. Their wolf forms stand on two legs and can stand anywhere from 5'4 - 6'0 tall. They also have ranks, which can be seen here. Being born into different ranks gives you different advantages. Some strengths of this species would be increased strength, agility, and shape shifting at will, increased healing speed, and night vision. They are weak to silver, fire, and wolfsbane. They are also overly aggressive and during the full moon, they have a predator like instinct. They will shift and are normally chained up in silver at this point, the only people who can calm them are their mates or family members.
Lupos Society
for werewolves
This is the pack on campus grounds, which you will be in for as long as you are at the school, if you are a werewolf or accepted by the alpha. Because of this, you can be born an alpha, but a normal pack member if the reigning alpha is stronger than you. This can cause some troubles and the werewolves tend to create chaos on campus. As roles are filled, I'll add them here.
Alpha-Reserved
vampires
open
Vampires survive off blood and raw meat, though most choose human blood for their diet. They also have enhanced physical condition, specifically speed and strength, as well as night vision, slowed aging, and they can hear heart beats and blood pumping. They do, however, need permission to enter a home, have water aversion, and are weak to sunlight, stakes, and fire.
Sanguis society
for vampires
The sanguis society is for vampires. While they don't have packs or covens like werewolves and witches, having a society makes our fanged friends feel a bit more welcome. They chat, have blood bars, and generally have a bit of fun here.
witches
open
Witches are worshippers of the devil who are granted powers. They are organized in covens, with coven leaders being the most powerful. They also may be granted familiars, if the dorms allow. They are able to get stronger based on their coven members and familiars. Witches have a specialty, whether that is a type of magic or an element. Aside from spellcasting, they don't really have any strengths, though some can choose to increase their lifespans through rituals. This doesn't come without a cost though. Other than that, they are just normal humans, though they can become exhausted and lose their abilities for short amounts of time. If their emotions get out of hand, it can be difficult to either use their abilities or rein them in.
The Coven
for witches
This is the witches coven on campus. They gather together to do rituals, increase their power, or make important decisions. There is a leader, who is the most powerful witch at the school. That position is currently open
