- The Death of the Kishin Asura
- Anime: In the Anime, Asura was a man (Unknown if he was a shinigami, but seeing as it was never really stated to be so, I don't think he was. You could assume so, but, in this case he won't be one.) who was a member of the Shinigami Legions, as well as holding the title of the First Generation Kishin, and was the Great Old One of Madness. He would serve under Deaths law, before a battle with a powerful enemy made him succumb to fear. This made him feed the souls of the innocent to his demon weapon, before ultimately eating the weapon to gain power, turning him into the first Kishin. He gained immense power, driving the world into chaos with his immense madness wavelength, and his Madness of Fear. He was brought down by Death himself, and sealed inside of his own skin underneath what would be knows as Death City, anchored by the Soul of Death himself. That was 800 years ago. As the anime follows with his introduction, as you all know the witches let him out, blah blah blah, I'm pretty sure you know what happened. He escapes and flies his way up to the surface, where he is met by Death, and the two battle, and then he escapes to a Buddhist temple. He is met by the witch Arachne, who convinces him to help her cause. She harnesses his wavelength and spreads chaos once again. Death follows by transporting Death City to the base, and captures and seals Asura in the Death Room, where the two battle once more. They fight, Death now with his weapon, but is ultimately damaged as Asura attacks his son and allies, and Death protects them. Seeing the love and affection Death the kid has for his father, he is reminded of his feelings for Arachne, and is scared of them. To get rid of that fear, he goes to her, kills and then proceeds to eat her soul, and becomes much more powerful. The Trio go in to battle him, but nothing works. Soul is taken over by Ogre, and Maka goes in to save him. With her gone, Black Star and Death the Kid proceed to fight, with Kid activating the lines of Sanzu. Before he can finish however, he is stabbed through the chest by Asura. But the lines continue to activate, with BlackStar taking the attention of the Kishin Asura as Kid prepares an attack. The attack hits, and does so much damage to the Kishin Asura that it forces him to revert to the state he was in before he ate Arachnes soul. DeathStar and Asura go to battle, but he is defeated. Maka awakens to fight the Kishin Asura, you know the rest. They fight, she activates her weapon abilities, she defeats him with the power of friendship punch- Er, sorry that's fairy tail. I mean the power of Bravery punch, and he is completely destroyed. (probably the biggest reason I dislike the anime, cus that shit, it made no sense at all.
- Manga: In the Manga, it's almost the same. Instead of being just a boy, or whatever, Asura is the brother of Death the Kid, and the first child of Death. Death, in an attempt to become the perfect God of Order, and the Great Old One of Order, created Asura, an accumulation of his fear and a mature Shinigami so he'd be powerful enough to stand by his side. When he was sealed away, Death realized his mistake, and instead created his next offspring as an immature shinigami, so he'd be able to live and grow as a human before becoming a Mature God. Anyways, blah blah blah, everything is the same until Asura escapes. Instead of Escaping to the Temple, he flies to the moon. Noah, a Sorcerer calling himself Eibon, and is the manifestation of the actual Eibon, goes to the moon and captures Asura. Before he can do anything, Crona appears to him and absorbs both him and the Kishin, but spits out Noah. However, after Crona has a mental breakdown when fighting the Trio, Asura assimilates Crona's body and swears to create a chaotic world driven by Madness. He fights the Trio, and watches as Kid becomes a Mature Shinigami, marking the death of his father. The Trio fights, and Maka and Soul enter Asura to defeat him from the inside. Inside Asura, Maka manages to convince Crona that they are doing the wrong thing. Crona finally agrees to stop and agrees to help the group because they trust Maka's judgment so much, as Maka was the only person ever to be kind, caring, and trusting towards them. Upon leaving Asura, Maka attacks Asura with the Kishin-Hunt, defeating him and allowing Crona to seal both Asura and themselves inside The Moon to keep the madness locked away forever, whilst the Trio are transported back to Death City.
