I'm in. You had me at "no lord death" alternate universes are always interesting, especially one playing with the unique potential of Madness.

I'll try to get a concept out within the next couple days.

Lady Warlock i have a few questions i hoped to ask also to get a better idea of things.

1. What impact did Lord Death's death (pun intended I'm not sorry) have to both world and academy? I imagine since he gets terminated over the same thing, it was neither pretty or easy and had a monumental impact that just gave the witches the chance they needed.

1.5. do any of the original cast exist in this/ still live and if so, did they play a role in LD's death?

2. if the original cast do exist, then i have to ask- what is Asura doing or is he even awake for any of this? is he irrelevant? this is more just me being curious

3. Would it be possible to make up our own clans or something along those lines if we had permission for characters?

4. How long has this sort of chaos been going on for? Lord death, the virus, Witch hostiles, the recent explosions; how long are we looking time frame wise for all of this?

I’d like to play a “rebellious honor student” who is a weapon (umbrella) beyond this, everything is being considered.

suggestions are incredibly welcomed!

My current thinking is, either the umbrella is a physical weapon, as in it can act like either a sword or a shield alternately, or it is a purely “magical” or non physical weapon, and it manipulates water to fight.
Edit: If I am allowed to, I would like him to manipulate water, and yell out special move names in his special fighting style called;
Water Chainsaw Style.

1. It had a pretty major impact on both, I would say. His death scythes are working to try to keep all DWMA organizations intact, but not having very much luck without the prime source of everything around. It created openings for witches to strike, it allowed many known sources of madness to get more out of hand than usual, and it made protecting the students a very difficult task. I think this answers your first question. Let me know if anything remains unanswered with this point.
   
2. No original cast exist. Lord Death was the only original cast member to ever exist in the first place in this world and he is now deceased.
   
3. It would be possible to make up your own clan, but I would want to approve any unique abilities you might be giving that clan before you make said clan. I will not be accepting any weapons like Tsubaki because I have not been able to allocate enough lore that explains why she is able to take on multiple forms and how it works.
   
4. As for how long the chaos has been going on, the virus probably infected patient zero about 2 months prior to RP start. Lord Death died about a month ago. The story will begin in the ruins of the explosion of the DWMA.

While I do like the idea of an umbrella that manipulates water, I feel inclined to comment that the only time we’ve seen a canon character actually manipulate an element to my knowledge was when that weapon was being wielded by a Tanuki witch or when the weapon in question was actively using soul resonance with a meister. The idea is cool, but I’m not sure if it would be acceptable if all they did was manipulate water unless their only attacks require soul resonance - which would require a very powerful meister.

Now, if you’re planning on having a tanuki witch as a meister, that’s a different story.

Also, BriiAngelic , I just realized I never answered your question regarding age ranges for characters. I’m open to anywhere between 12 and 19 most likely. Uhm… second characters may be able to be outside the age range because it’s possible that second characters have no association with the DWMA.

Go ahead! I don't mind at all lol. I love odd weapons so I usually go for weapon if i have to choose.

But like multiple characters is more my style.
First soul eater rp i was in I was a kid meister to a dual dagger twins, and a Naginata to an older meister as that pair was kinda mentors to the younger kids.

I have another few questions that sort of just hit me (I'm just terrible aren't I?) Lady Warlock

1. Things like soul perception, soul menace, etc are they still relevant or are they different in some way or form? Are there different abilities we can create or ones you have in works? Just wanna cover my bases to make sure i don't break anything on that front.

2. Our cast more or less had partners at some point for some of the charas. Our partners were infected with madness, corrupted, and lost themselves in that battle, hopefully before the explosion. Is it up to us to decide if our characters are infected themselves but are simply more tolerant? Or are we, (and the second cast of second charas) more or less highly tolerant to the madness that is spreading like a forest fire? I understand its a plot point but i feel i should ask since while different types of Madness take longer or have lesser effect, madness itself is shown to be very corruptive unless a person has the right wavelength to counter (and in most cases can be made much worse through soul resonance/ wavelength minus a special wavelength type.)

3. If we are affected to a degree, I have to ask, what would you suggest would be like idk a limit in terms of how badly we are affected/corrupted? If our partners are gone or mia or whatever because the virus did them in, how far should a character be from that breaking point outside of not consuming a Pure soul?

4. Experience. What is the limit of experience you would advise for either Weapons or Meisters? Asking cuz the main cast were all 13-17, and they were hecka good fighters. I'm not expecting you to allow 3 stars (unless that doesn't exist in this AU and the ranks are entirely different) but what level can Meisters or Weapons achieve? Can a Weapon be a new Death Scythe, but not a part of the higher levels of authority? Could a Meister have made a Death Scythe's with previous partners till their recent one?

You are able to create new abilities as well, but I need to approve them first and I’m very picky when it comes to accepting new things. It has to feel like it belongs… it has to feel like Soul Eater. I hope that makes sense.
   
2. Everyone - more or less - likely had a partner at one point or another within their time at the DWMA. It will be up to you guys as players to decide what happened to them. They could have been infected with madness and therefore are now mad and not with the group at this time because we have no way of bringing them back to a point of being a functioning partner. They could have been killed in the witch attack before the actual explosion. They could have been killed in the explosion. They could have been killed in an attack by individuals infected by the virus. It is also quite possible that your characters’ partners were just sent home before the explosion occurred and thus are safely wherever “home” might be for them. Then they could come into play later on.
   
3. As for how affected by madness the PCs within the roleplay can be, I can say that none of them are affected by the virus itself. The virus has some unique biological properties to it that lead the madness to consume a person much faster than would otherwise happen. PCs within the story have some sort of natural immunity to the virus itself, but they don’t necessarily need to be immune to madness by any means. They just need to be able to function as a hunter of kishin egg souls.
   
4. I’m accepting NOT students if anyone has any desire to make one who miraculously survived, and I’m accepting 1-Star students. No one should have a 1st character who is a death scythe or who has created a death scythe in their lifetime thus far. As far as skill level is concerned, I’m willing to accept characters comparable to where Maka, Black Star and Death The Kid were in level at the end of the anime. I’ll take some pretty good fighters, but no one will be capable of taking on a witch on their own unless it’s a pretty pathetic witch.

1) Just to be clear do you have a way they survived the resulting explosion in mind or when it says that we are the survivors does that mean of only the Madness Illness?
2) In terms of making clans do you have any specific guidelines you'd like to be followed as a necessity or an impossibility? ie clans cannot affect both Death Weapons and Meisters in X way but they can do Y. Since it'd be tied to souls and their souls are different in composition.
3) Death city is in ruins would this mean that anyone who was raised with family in death city should expect that their family is dead? How deadly was this explosion, did anyone that wouldn't be a PC have survived?
4) If everyone is a 1 star or NOT student does that mean they're all newer or is it fine if they just haven't gotten the chance to get much experience?
5) I know you want 6-7 players but how many students would feasibly have survived the destruction of DWMA (for later on when you said new characters may be allowed)
6) Was it an all-out attack from the witches or a quick strike force to hit them while they were down? Mainly so we know how many witches our character should be aware of.
7) If Death is the only canon character then are there any known death scythes left in this universe?

I don't see a problem flooding the int check, we're getting interest with it As a GM, my golden rule is I expect a total number of about half of what I see in an int check.

7. An example im gonna give to ask is this:

Demon soldiers and demon weapons were both regular humans with no known abilities whatsoever till they were altered and as a result have some form of magic they use to do what they do respectively i.e. (demon weapons transform literally utilizing magic) Lord Death himself is even hinted at having magic in the series with that runaway train. Would someone altered kkkakafundamentally like how a demon weapon or a demon soldier is, be able to use a limited form of magic to the same degree?

8. Purely curious here. But can we play other races outside the human, witch and demon weapon race for our meisters/ weapons?

Monsterz like Blair (a bakaneko), Free (wolfman/werewolf), mosquito (bloodsucker/ vampire) all on some level exist and did have their interactions with humans in the world. Can we assume those species still exist regardless of whether or not the cast members to them do or can we make up our own even if those aren't options?
