Fandom Soul Eater: A New Beginning

R.J just shook his head. Grumbling about his short stature. He looked back at his partner, giving her a masked grin. "Thanks back there, could of handled myself there." He quietly told her. His features rent unread back to its stoic form as he overheard a single word. Mission. He looked around to find a small group of students, crowding around the board. He swiftly turned around and motioned for his partner to follow him. He made a beeline towards the board, pushing people out of his way to get a closer look at the missions. After swimming through the wave of students, R.J arrived at the board, looking over each mission carefully. A mission with the tittle 'evil humans' caught his eyes. "That one." He whispers to himself.

Mac backed away a little. "You don't understand Xen," Mac let out a troubled sigh, "The DWMA hunted down and killed my family. They only kept one alive that they found out about. That must have been Black*Star. But that's because they thought they could indoctrinate him with their own ideals. Which... it somewhat worked. But Xen, I was only spared because I had been shunned by the Star Clan. The DWMA didn't find out about me. But it's not that simple. Yes, the Star Clan does occasionally train outsiders, but a Star is a ruthless assassin. It's not something they learn, it's just who they are. Call it instinct or second nature. It's trained in the family for so long that you're just born that way. It's who I am. I don't want to be that way. I want to be a good guy and help the DWMA. But I'm still a threat."

Turning away, Mac began recounting his feelings, "Every day I wake up, I have the urge to kill. Since I was shunned from my family, the urge is stronger than most. My instinct tells me to prove I'm not inferior by killing. But I know that's not the answer. As a Star, I am a sworn enemy of the DWMA. That's why I'm a danger, and Death knows it."

Looking back with hot tears streaming down his face, Mac said one final thing, "You're my meister. The only person who's ever shown me kindness and openness," he began. Then, kneeling and punching a crater in the ground, he yelled, "And I can't stop this voice in my head telling me to kill you!"

Hannah toke that candy and popped it in her mouth, "These are so good wear do you get them?" She asked in confusion, "Oh and i gotta wait for Cameron to wake up and then we can go look at jobs!" She said with a giant smile on her face as though she knew something he did not, in the back of her head she thought that maybe just maybe they would actually have to fight someone on the mission something she hopped she would not have to do.

Cameron started to move a bit, "Am i still in Death City or did Hannah kill me?" He asked half asleep, Hannah just poked him in the side and he jolted awake, "You have something to say to Ryushi Cameron, SAY IT! Her voice suddenly went loud and sounded full of anger. In all reality though it was full of concern. Cameron just looked around and then his gaze stopped on Ryushi, "Im sorry, Hannahs right i should not have done that. It was really mean!"

Ryushi shrugged, giving a half-smile. "Don't worry about it. You're forgiven. And my mom makes them for me." He tucked his hands in his pockets and looked back to the doors leading into the school. He started to bounce on the balls of his feet. "So, I was looking at the Board before, but I didn't really pay attention to it much, since I hadn't met you yet, Hannah. So, want to go see what there is to do on there?" He actually had paid close enough attention to it, but he didn't want to make suggestions for her. He looked back at Cameron and pulled his hand out of his pocket, offering it to Cameron to help him up.

"Noted," he agreed, and stepped back to allow her to work. He still didn't understand the jacket, but wasn't going to mention it. That would be giving up. But seriously, why wear it if you could get it off yourself? Break kept his mouth shut despite all wishes to know better. If he invested in this now it'd be harder when they didn't work out as partners.

Same with the bandages and stitches and tattoos. Was she alright? Better not to ask, Break decided. It would just hamper getting things done.

When she was fully transformed, he looked her over, and seemed to begin calculating things in his head. After a while, he picked her up, struggling to keep the gun level consistently. Eventually, he had to settle for carrying her at the hip. Even with his great strength and height advantage, he knew that wielding her in battle meant that he'd be effectively stationary if he wanted to aim correctly. Maybe they'd work from a distance and make the obviously powerful shot count more?

Break decided that he'd worry about that in a second. He realized that he hadn't even reached out with his soul yet to try to gauge their partnership. At once, he allowed himself to truly partner with Cross, letting his rigid, prideful soul cross with hers. His aggressive nature fought to overtake her slightly mad soul as it always did, attempting to bring her own wavelength under its direction. It wasn't a conscious effort, but his own wavelength fought and subdued any signs of madness with shocking aggression. But then, it fought any sort of trait that would make it harder for Break to do what he needed to. If things went well, they could find some way to work around that trait as Meisters had to in the past. But if things didn't work, their opposite nature might mean a swift end to their partnership.

While Break waited for her to respond to the cue, he asked, "Is everything alright? When you're ready we can walk through how to use your Weapon form."

Xen

She listened to him and she understood it all too well... she knew the ruthlessness of the star clan first hand. She looked him in the eyes with kindness, she really didn't care. She knew he was dangerous so? all that mean't was she should keep her guard up right? "Mac, you don't understand. I don't care your star clan, I don't care your dangerous hell you could be Ashura himself I can take it, If you ever lose control that's why I'm here isn't it? Just stop it, your not evil because of who you are and your definitely not inferior I'll help you prove it to the world but first it seems I need to prove it to you"

Yuri

Yuri followed her partner without a word and looked over the missions list as well. The evil humans? the weapons wielding each other and consuming innocent souls... sounded a bit dangerous but she guessed it was worth a try if he was willing to do it she was. A stealth mission, not her strongest area but it shouldn't be too hard. She nodded approvingly.

Sighing again, Mac looked back to his partner. "That's just what I feel, X. I know you understand, I just may not get a chance to explain it if the DWMA finds out I'm Star Clan. That's the only reason I'm nervous. The reality is that I'm a student of the DWMA. You're my meister and I can't let you down. I'm here for you too, and I'll never let anything bad happen to you. If my urges ever get to a point where I can't control them, I'll be my first target."

Oi... Put me down for a second so we can go over a few things... Holding me like this you're gonna hurt us both...

Her soft voice filtered into the air slightly distorted by the fact that she was currently in her weapon form. After a moment she glowed, reverting back to her human form and reappearing just beside him. She sighed rubbing the back of her head. Moving back to stand in front of him she studied him for a moment. His soul wavelength was aggressive and had tried to force her into alignment. That would have proved a real problem had he tried to fire her. Like she said that would have most likely cause both of them a great deal of pain. Her kickback was already pretty strong and a misfire would have been pretty extreme. She sighed, sitting down on the ground and crossing her legs. A motion of her hand indicated her desire for him to do the same.

His height and strength were pretty good. He would be capable of carrying her and most likely firing her as well. But they would need to discuss some very important things first. She leaned forward, resting her arms on her knees. Her hair pooled a bit on the ground behind her and she seemed to be thinking. As she had mentioned before she wasn't exactly the best in the world at explaining things and when it came to her own weapon form it was even harder. Trying to phrase it in a way someone else would understand was a bit of a challenge. After all with Jaxsyn things had been more natural and Dr. Stein was smart enough to be able to figure her out on his own when he had studied her. After a moment she decided to give it a shot. The first thing she did was draw a diagram on the ground with her fingertip. She drew a cross and little arrows pointing to each of the three arms.

"Okay... Here's the deal... First lets talk about my weapon form... I'm a combat specialized weapon which means I'm multi-purposed... The top arm fires concentrated rocket style blasts... The long arm fires two ways one is a machine gun style burst of combined soul energy and the other is in combination with the short arm on the left which is a scope. The right arm, doesn't do much for you but it works for me when self wielding... Now all that is great but first you have to be able to pick me up appropriately... The best way to do that is with by hooking two fingers into the firing ring in the center from the outside with your thumb through the bottom rung... Try to relax when you're wielding me...being to rigid wont be good when firing..."

She sighed leaning back on her palms. Now came the really complicated part. She turned back into her weapon form again. This would be one lesson she'd have to teach through example.

Pick me up and try holding me like I told you to... Then we'll try to match wavelengths... Just relax and let me do what I do... The key is to work with me not against me... Our wavelengths have to combine and mix... Balance is the key to using me...

Xen

She looked at her partner again. "If the DWMA get involved then I'll convince them otherwise, If you can keep yourself under control I'm sure they won't have an issue with you being here... anyways it's not good to think of these sorts of things, It probably won't happen and if it does I'm still here for you, if you really don't want to let me down than stop talking like this and let's make you a death scythe okay?"

Looking at Xen with determination, he nodded, "Right, let's get going then. I will warn you, I'm not like a normal bladed weapon. I'm blunt and really hard to control. But, perhaps if you can learn to control my form, I might be effective."

With that, Mac leapt into the air and with a flash or red energy, transformed into his fiery red trisection staff. At each end of the staff was a small, cracked star. Then the staff descended from the sky toward it's meister.

Soleil nodded, understanding. She wondered about all the missions people would take first, hopefully not taking the good ones if they continue to train tomorrow as well. She didn't mind though, the important thing is to get better at wielding him and fighting with him. Soleil wasn't scared at all for training with him and practicing with him, even if she fell more times or injured herself worse. She's determined to get better and she's glad that she got a partner that is as bent on being the best they could be as she is.

As they walked along, she started thinking about her past. The wind's breeze making her red hair flow through the wind, as she rested on top of a building waiting for him to come out of the bar. He stumbles out, obviously drunk. Silently watching, Soleil jumps down from the roof, carrying her knives and running towards the man. She sliced him once and he looked around wincing in pain. She quickly hit him again and ran off to hide. Soleil was always a quick girl. The rest of her gang came to finish him off. Even though Soleil is an experienced fighter with knives and daggers, she never used them to actually kill someone. Her gang only kills people who deserve it, and he deserved it. But soon enough, she rose in the ranks of the gang. Becoming the co-leader, she had to kill someone. She didn't. The person hunted was innocent. She was kicked from the gang.

They got to the forest (if that's cool?) and it was silent. Emanuel liked the quiet. He could easily spend an afternoon here, just hanging from some tree. But that wasn't what he was here for. Even if he did enjoy doing nothing, this was more important. He glanced at the girl next to him. They were going to have to become friends, otherwise their soulwaves wouldn't work out too great. It was weird. He'd never really had a friend before. Maybe she liked to do nothing as well? Just chilling.. With someone else? The thought appealed to him. He might just like that.

He shook his head. There were more important things at hand now. He turned to Sol, and said "Alright, let's get this started. Let's try something different for now, I've got a different form than that sword one that might be easier to control." He took a step back, and transformed into more of a spear. It was still 9 feet long, but most of it was hilt now, and the edge had gotten considerably smaller. He balanced himself on the hilt part, and waited for her.

@Idyllia

"Alright," Soleil replied, looking at the weapon. She approached him and grabbed the handle. It was still a bit heavy, yet she was picking it up way better than his other form. "What now?" She asked both Aidan and herself. She swung him around, trying to think of attacks she could possibly do with him as her weapon.

Break listened intently, trying to note his mistakes and correct them swiftly. After the explanation, he solemnly agreed, "You're right, let's give it another shot."

It wasn't really a conscious effort on his part to have such a soul, it sort of just went that way. He made a conscious effort though to keep himself in line, which would hopefully bring some results. As the mind affected the soul, he himself calmed down and allowed his partner room to breathe. His soul would never just blend into chaos, so he looked for a middle ground to focus on. Just as he had done with so many partners before, Break tried to feel out for what they had in common. He felt out the ties she had to where she came from, and the feelings of separation they shared.

He held Cross as she recommended, feeling some tie at least between what little they had in common. He knew he'd regret letting his soul open up to someone else, but it had to be done yet again. That would be one more friend, in his mind, that would end up being completely incompatible when all was said and done. But he did it. He let down the wall and allowed Cross to access his soul as they needed. At the very least, their wavelength hadn't rejected the partnership yet. But then, it was always easy to form a pair when emotions weren't running high.

Rather than trying to leap to command, Break simply tried to let his ordered state be a balancing point. Maybe those years and years of trying to bond with different partners had been beneficial? Either way, he responded to her, "I think we can do this. Do you want to try firing a shot?"

Cameron looked at Ryushi, he took his hand "No hard feelings bro?" He asked in one of those funny sounding wanna be gangsta voices. He smiled "I hope your not to mad at me." Then he looked at Hannah "Including you Hannah!" He said with a huge smile. Hannah looked up and laughed "Im glad! Ryushi your mom makes really good candy!" She then stuck out her tongue and said "Lets go and look at that board okay!" and proceeded to skip up the stairs and fell, "Im, okay!" She said in a chipper voice and went back up the staris to meet them both at the board with the missons.

Cameron just walked and looked at Ryushi "You coming?" and then he smiled and laughed to himself, great Hannahs already fallen i was not expecting that this early!

@Refaulted

Ryushi smiled slightly and casually walked up the steps and towards his two new friends. Maybe this year wouldn't be all that bad for him. He pulled out another piece of candy and ate it, then walked past the two, looking over his shoulder. "No hard feelings, Cameron. And I'm sure my mom would enjoy hearing that from you. Now, let's go look at the missions." He turned around and kept his pace even so they could catch up to him. He wasn't sure which missions some students had already taken, so any he had in mind before would possibly already be assigned to someone. He reached into his pocket to see how many sweets he had left, making sure it was enough until he could stop by his mom's home before ending up back at his apartment. He stopped for a moment to wait for the two. "You guys coming?"

She watched Mac turn into his weapon form, indeed it was something different from what the other meisters had. She held him in one hand, he was pretty light. She was most surprised when she felt his soul wavelengths, they were intense, more than she was expecting even from a star clan. "Wow..." that was seriously all she could say. She started swinging the staff around and smiled.

"Don't know. I'm no professor... It's like.. I don't know." It was first now he realized he didn't have a clue. He didn't know how you improved your soul aligning. "I... Really don't know. Maybe just... Try to swing me around or something?" This wasn't leading anywhere, maybe they should talk to a professor about this. "I guess... It might be worth a shot.. Unless you have a better idea.." He was lost. This wasn't like regular training.

@Idyllia

Atso awoke rubbing his eye, he sat up, propping himself up on his arms. He looked down at his phone, 'only two o' clock,' he let out a yawn. "Time to start a little training," he said to himself with a somewhat devious grin. He jumped off of the shrine, extended his arm blades, and went to work. He dashed at a pillar and in a flash it had several very deep cuts in it. He gave a swift roundhouse kick to the pillar, and it collapsed. "As long as I spread out where I attack, the floor above shouldn't fall," he said while examining where the pillar had just stood, "though these pillars are thin and flimsy, I won't get a good workout like this." With that he sprinted down the corridor.

Eventually he made it out the doors, and back to mission board. He glanced over it but one of them caught his eye, 'Discover Whereabouts of Evil Humans eh?, requires stealth, and I don't even have to kill 'em. Seems like the perfect mission for me, I don't like to get my hands dirty. Hopefully no one has this one claimed.' He looked around, random students had noticed him and were obviously talking about him. He remembered that he'd not retracted his blades, that wasn't very smart. He started walking to the exit, retracted his blades, and made his way to the forest.

Soleil continued to swing him around, but she didn't really know what to do. She saw an opening in the trees and maybe there was something there that they could train with. "Do you wanna try our luck over there? Maybe someone had set up some training dummies or something." She said to him, approaching the opening. This first training was very awkward for Soleil, but she tried to pay no mind to it as it would just make things a bit harder for her to concentrate.

@Kriyze

This was Mac's first full transformation. It felt strange. In a sense, he had control of his own weight distribution and the bending of his chains. Yet he still had to depend on his partner to direct him. So the weapon did have to do more than just sit there. He had to sense his meister's actions through their soul resonance.

He felt the air between his chains as he fell into his partner's hands. Another weird sensation. Her hands were all over him! But... it wasn't weird because he was in weapon form. In human form, it would be an entirely different matter. When they connected, he felt the embrace of her soul. It was strong, determined. She held her own mystery, but she seemed to be in complete control.

She began to swing him around, he shifted his weight making sure she didn't loose control and quickening her actions. From this moment, he could tell they would be a dangerous pair. They were Mac and X. Weapon and meister, partners and friends.

His face appeared in the side of the staff, looking at his partner, "Wow indeed. You're amazing. Have you ever practiced with a trisection staff before?"

Realm was just about to hop down from the roof when she noticed a familiar figure beginning to cross the school grounds. It was that self-wielding weapon from earlier, and he didn't seem like he was up to anything good. Realm's sharp eyes trailed the boy suspiciously as he approached the forest. Just where does he think he's going? She thought to herself.

She couldn't deny that the boy had stirred curiosity within her. Self-wielding wasn't an easy task, but it seemed to come naturally to this boy. She shook her head, pushing the thoughts of him from her head. What he did was his business, and she had no reason to care what he did. He did not help her kill kishins and he was therefore irrelevant to her.

Realm sighed heavily, realizing she had nothing left to do here. It didn't make sense. She was a utility meister, meaning she had the ability to adapt and become compatible with many weapons. She had seen plenty of partners that seemed completely incompatible, yet here she was, weaponless. She walked to the edge on the complexly designed skull and hopped down, finding footing and places the throw her momentum as she leaped down the building. Once at the bottom she stretched her arms above her head and yawned.

"Long day of doing absolutely nothing," she muttered to herself.

He was deeply sunk into thought. What did one actually do to achieve greater soul resonance? He really didn't know. "Do you wanna try our luck over there? Maybe someone had set up some training dummies or something." "Eh?.. Uh.. Yeah, sure. It's as good of an idea as any, I guess." Yeah, maybe physical training was enough for now. "I should probably point out this though, if it wasn't obvious. I'm a bit easier to deal with, and faster, as a spear, but I carry a lot more destructive power as a sword.."

(Sorry. 5am. Better post next time. sorry.)

Soleil nodded and trotted over in the clearing, which did in fact had training dummies. She laughed a bit since the situation was very convenient. Listening to Aidan, she figured that the sword was more powerful. "I think we should continue with the spear. If we're faster, we could get more hits in without hurting ourselves. But, once we get more used to each other, we definitely should practice using you as a sword." Soleil said, getting in a fighting stance as she faced the dummy. She didn't know much about fighting with a spear-like weapon, so she just tried some random things out, hoping it would work.

The dummy was left in pieces after Soleil was done experimenting with fighting. She walked over to the next dummy, then paused. "How was that?"

@Kriyze

Cross tried to focus, feeling testing her soul against his own. Without his trying to take control of hers it was able to do it's work. Her soul was shaping itself to fit more comfortably within his own. A soft glow ran through the weapon. She released her soul an attempt at resonance, fully aware that it might not work at all. But she would have to try one way or another, she wasn't fond of taking a possible injury at the result of a misfire. Her soul was unusual, more inclined towards chaos and madness than any sort of order. A result of her patchwork nature. But with his ordered and controlled soul it was enough to balance hers out to pull her in line. As a weapon she relied not only on the strength of her own soul but that of her meister as well. A soft click issued forth as the long arm of the cross opened down the middle. The gun barrel flashed slightly and the arm closest to his level lit with a faint glow that formed into sights.

Lets try it with a rifle shot. Pull once and then let go and pray this doesn't turn into a gods d**ned mess...
