"Are you sure your dad won't catch us?" The girl asked. "Nah he won't, we're safe. Besides, he knows we are gone." Kantu explained. "Oh okay." She said.


Koda grabbed a child and injected him with what was in the syringe. He then grabbed the other and did the same. They sat there crying. He didn't plan on punishing them but he did plan on punishing himself.

Talio found Kantu with a girl. Sneaking up on him he ruffled his hair a mischievous cunning smile on his face. "Hey, kiddo who's your friend here?"

Kantu jumped, accidently hitting the girl in the head. "Ow." She said. "Sorry." He turned to see his dad and father standing there. "Dad?" He said, sweat beading on his forhead. "What are you doing here?" He giggled nervously. "OOO your in trouble." Senji teased. "Shut up or I'll punch you in the face." Senji ran and hid behind Talio. "Daad, Kantu threatened to hit me." The girl looked on in disgust. "I'm outta here." She ran off. "No come... Back." She was gone. "Kantu slowly turned around towards his dad and giggled nervously.

Talios grinning face morphed into a glare. "Car now."

"But Daaaaaad let me explain." There was this guy who needed the Heimlich and I helped him. Your a doctor right? As a doctor's son it was my duty to help." He noticed his father's glare was still there. "You aren't falling for it are you?" He said.

"Car. Now." Turning on his heels he sent Senji a smile showing he wasn't mad at him as they headed for the doors.

Kantu followed his father. "Oh darn." He thought. "I really thought I had a good story." He thought. "I'm sorry daddy... Can I not get in trouble." He made a pouty face at Tamil.

Talio glanced down at his son with a arched brow. "What do you think?"

"I won't get in trouble and we are going to get ice cream?" He asked.

"You wish." Talio snorted. " You get to go to your room when we get home and Senji gets ice cream. "

"Gosh dad your such an a-hole." Kantu yelled before storming off. "He's mad at daddy." Said Senji.

"To bad. " Talio scrawled. "He was grounded in the first place he should have realized he would get in trouble for his little stunt. "

Kantu rolled his eyes at Talio and stood by the car. "Gosh dad I don't know why your so..." There was a clicking noise and then a loud boom. The cat had exploded, flying into the air. Kantu went flying, his lit body flying towards where his father and brother were. Senji stared in disbelief. "Daaaaaaad.." he said terror in his eyes.


Just then Kantu landed with a thud, the flames were out but his body was severely chared.


As Koda was handing the money to the receptiones, he felt something hard poke into his back. "Move and I'll shoot." Koda looked shocked. "Oh is this your husband?" The woman asked. Before Koda could respond he felt the man kiss his neck. "Yes I am." He said. Kids thought. "What do I do?"

Talio froze staring at his sons prone form in horror. The sound of Senji speaking broke him out of it. Running toward his prone son he knelt next to his body his fingers already flying over the buttons of his phone as he checked Kantus pulse with the other. The phone ringed and someone Soon picked up. Before they could say a word he was already speaking. "My car just exploded and my son was caught in the cross fire. He's badly burnt and seems unconscious. Please, send an ambulance to The local aquarium. Hurry. "


Ending the call he slipped his phone back into his pocket. Knowing he could do nothing more he motioned for Senji to stay by his brother as he walked toward the remains of the car. The wind carried the tell tale smell of gunpowder letting him know all he needed to know. Someone had just tried to kill them.


His son had been hurt.


That thought froze in his mind and he knew no matter what happened he would never be able to get that thought from his mind. Turning on his heels he headed back to his sons, phone out again. Someone picked up on the first try.


"Hello, this is Maddie who's callin?" The voice of the girl he Once considered his sister and still did almost brought him to tears as the impact of what happened hit him. He held strong though.


"Maddie It's Talio a person just attempted to murder my boys and I. Kantu was caught in the cross fire. The ambulance is coming now. I need you to protect my children as I go check on Koda and the twins. I need to know their ok. "


"Of course. I'll be there in 5. "


Nodding he hung up. He knew she had tracked the call and knew where they were. Dropping his phone he stomped on it. There was valuable info there and to much risk of hackers using the phone against him. Glancing at his sons he was saddened and angered to Kantu hadn't moved. Who ever did this would pay.


The roaring of a motorcycle followed closely by the sirens of an ambulance and a police car coming closer was his sign to leave. Maddie was here and so was help. Without a glance back at his boys he began walking toward a allyway nearby. He knew by know Kado and the twins should have left the hospital Yet where they were know he would Soon find out. Tracking chips really did come in handy.

The man led them put of the building and into the car. Kids buckled the boys in and got in the driver's seat. "Your husband thought he could get away from us eh?" The man asked sitting in the passenger seat. "WE thought we could." Koda replied. "Well YOU will soon wish you hadn't crossed us, now... Drive." He placed a gun up to the side of Kids's head. "Big mistake." He thought. Koda, instantly jerked his head forward and then back, trapping the man's gun between the back of his head and seat. The man brought his other hand up to punch but Koda blocked it, chopping the man in the throat. As he gasped for air, Koda gave him a good elbow to the face and knocked him out. Hibiki and Kobi cried at the sight. "It's okay guys." Just. He saw the man out of the corner of his eye raise the gun up towards him. It was as if time had slowed. "This is it." He thought.

Talio made it home in record time and immediately went up to his study. Taking a seat at his desk his fingers race across the keyboard as he activates the trackers he put in all the necklaces the kids are given when adopted. Finding that they are in the parking lot of the hospital he knows he won't be able to get there in time before the attacker does or already has. Taking out his phone he sent a text to a Co worker in the hospital who was there today. "Can you check on my husband and kids they seem to be having car trouble in the parking lot. "


" Sure thing."


Sending the text he gets up and after getting on his bullet proof vest grabs all his guns. He's going to need them. Then with no hesitation he leaves and makes his way to the hospital.

Before anything happened to him there was a loud bang and a bullet flew right to the man's chest. Kids turned to see one of Talios fellow co workers holding a gun up. "Sorry I'm late." He said with a smile. Koda passed out.

Talio made it to the hospital in ample time and finding the parking lot empty, even the car was gone, followed the trackers using his phone. It led him to his Co workers office. Walking in he was relieved to find Kids though passed out alive and well on the others small couch. His Co worker sat at his desk sipping coffee and looked up at him with a smile when he walked in. Silent nods were exchanged as Talio headed toward the twins who was playing silently in front of his Co workers desk. Scooping them up he sat on the arm of the chair and set them in his lap. They silently curled into him the events of the day catching up with them and tiring them out. As Soon as they fell asleep he spoke. "Thank you Andrew. "


"It was no problem. I assume that little debt has been payed off then. " Talio nodded gaze unmoving from his children's faces. He almost lost them today. "What happened?"


"When I went out there a man had a gun pointed to your husband's head. Luckily I got to them in time. "


"The body?"


"Has been properly disposed of. You will need to get a new car though. "


"That's fine. If you Don't mind I would like a moment alone with my family. "


"Of course." Standing Andrew walked out and stood guard watching out for any one else.


Able to breath better now that half of his family was out of harms way for now Talio looked at his husband. "You can wake up now. If you'd like that is."

Koda opened up an eye to see Talio there. "Talio, your alive." He sprang up and hugged his husband , his head pressing into his husbands large chest. "Baby, oh baby." He gave his husband a long kiss. "I thought I had knocked him out but he was still awake." Koda began sobbing into his husbands chest. "He could have killed the twins."

Talio wrapped his arms around his husband tightly after making sure the twins wouldn't fall off the couch. As koda cried into his shirt he petted his hair and contemplated when to tell him about Kantu. He still didn't know if he was alive or not. When Koda mentioned the twins he knew he had to tell him then. It was to important to leave for later. "Koda, " he started. " the car exploded and Kantu was caught in the cross fire. I don't know how bad Yet I know he is in this hospital with Senji. Both are being watched over by a friend of mine."

Koda looked up at Talio. "What did you just say? No, not Kantu, NOO!" He screamed and slammed his fist on the doctors desk. "You tell me our sons okay.

"I can't. " Talio said finally allowing his grief to show. "We can go check on him though. "

"Take me to him now." Said Koda, his eyes puffy and red. A look of hurt stained on his face.

" Alright. " Talio soothed gently Taking his hand. Tugging him out of the room he nodded to his Co worker who went back into the room when they left. He would watch over the twins. They walked over to the burnt victims Ward and to the room Kantu was staying in.

Koda broke down at the door. He fell to the ground yelling. "Kantu no! No No Noooo!" He crawled to the bed and hoisted himself up. He moved his hand over his body, and a moan escaped his lips. Just then a doctor entered. "He''ll be alright." He said. "Thank god." Koda said.
