Sight of the Sun by Fun. - I'd like to be Character A
Characters are mid-late 20's, out of college and in jobs. Character A is a serial romantic. With a new partner in bed every night, they seem almost adverse to any kind of commitment, even struggling to hold down a job. Character B is their best friend, and has a huge crush on A, ever since they were in school together. A and B are roommates, but A seems unaware of B's crush. Or perhaps A knows, but doesn't know how to feel about it, so they do nothing? Regardless, one night B drunkenly offers to be friends with benefits with A, and A agrees, figuring it would help B get over their crush. Perhaps if B saw how bad of a person A was, they wouldn't have a crush on them? The plan works, and over the course of a couple weeks or so B looses their crush on A. Disaster strikes when A starts to develop feelings for B! We'd start with B suggesting to be friends with benefits.
