So very pleased to meet you!

Good evening everyone! I cannot express properly how excited I am to be here but I will try to convey my feelings...

As a child I was a bookworm. And when I say bookworm I mean "Up all night reading by nightlight after mom's told me to sleep for the fiftieth time; reading my own books under the desk in class cause I'd finished the class book and they were reading sooooo slow; and the librarians upping the limit of books I could check out in a day " type bookworm. I loved stories, reveling in the adventures and lives of fictional characters and worlds, performing feats that made my heart flutter and breath catch time and again. I lived for stories, and nothing was more fun than roleplaying out a fun idea, letting the story grow beyond what you yourself could bring to it and having it become something completely new with another persons insight and input. I lived for it.

But life gets in the way and while I still read there's never enough time in a day and so this dear hobby of mine had to go by the wayside for a while until I was established. Such are the growing pains of adulthood! But now I am established enough that I wish to reaffirm my love for a hobby I once held so dear. I fear my skills are a bit rusty but I hope that can be forgiven and we all can have a wonderful time exploring the joys of creativity! And so i wish you all a fond hello and hope you regard me kindly!

Welcome to RPN, fellow bookworm! *throws confetti in air* I'm Kestrel, but you can call me Kes if you want. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Enjoy your stay!

I heard this a lot:

"Kestrel, don't get your book out, we don't have time."

"Kes, go to bed."

"Kestrel, why don't you go outside and play with the other kids during recess? You may make some friends."

"Fictional people are better friends."

"Real people are good, too. Ah, never mind."

Haha yes I heard many of the same things myself. I believe my response was either "Just let me finish this chapter.." *Reads five chapters and is starting on the sixth by the time they pester again* or just trying to be sneaky about it. I failed. A ninja, I am not.

Thank you for the kind welcome! I'm very glad to be here and it definately sounds like im in the right place. You can call me either Blush or Kayla whichever you prefer.

And fictional people make awesome friends for the record. :)

"Kes, put the book down and eat."

"But I'm at the good part!"

"How many times have you read that book?"

"You mean, in my whole life, or just this week?"

Yes yes and yes again. I became a pro at navigating the school halls with a book in hand. Never actually ran into any walls believe it or not. xD

And yeah though I tended to devour new content there were some personal favorites that I went back to time and again.

Also...

"Kayla no books at the table"

"Kayla c'mon lets go outside and play"

*proceeds to go sit on the swing and continue reading*

And the countless hours spent theorizing and explaining plot bunnies to any of my friends who would listen.

I'm usually a shy, reserved person. I was sitting on the bleachers at school, and some basketball players "accidentally" ran into me and tore several pages. I think I really scared them.

For my senior quote, I put, "I like big books and I cannot lie."

Oh nonono you did NOT damage my books without serious consequences. I hope you gave them an earful.

Speaking of damaging books did it ever upset you to annotate in them? Cause I had the hardest time with that...it just felt disrespectful and wrong to me. I hated when teachers gave me those projects. Not that I didn't know how but man it irked me for some reason.

And I love the quote <3

I'm an introvert whose trained herself to act extroverted. In small groups I can initiate conversations and I'm fine as long as I'm with my friends. But in large groups I freeze up and tend to stay quiet.

Unless someone picks on my friends in which case I go mama bear on their butt. Say what you want about me but don't you dare hurt someone I care about.

Or my books xD

Stay calm, stay calm. They read books. Remember books? Say hi and be nice.

Hello tree murderer! I am a friend to be made...... Also... I'm a doctor!........ buhbye!

Yeah, they weren't expecting a little girl under 5 ft tall to yell at them. The yearbook guy thought my quote was hilarious and accurate. I also hate writing in books and taking notes on them.

Hahaha yup tree murderer and proud!!! In more ways than one I doodled when I wasn't reading. xD

And awesome to meet you! Doctors are always a good people to have around in my experience. :)
Shhhhhh there's no need to crush his dreams he can be a doctor if he feels like it.
Just maybe not the one operating on me in an emergency situation xD
HAHA!

>.>

That's all well and good sir but I fear I will require a bit more than simply your good word before I would allow you to operate upon my personage.

That being said I'm still cool with you as a person but I do not require medical assistance at the moment...nor do I for the forseeable future...

I hope...

*suspicious look*

Oh my word is far from good, but accidents happen.... Welcome to the site! If you have any questions or concerns then don't come to me because I'm horrible! Hope you find what you're looking for.

So what kinda rps do you personally like Kes? I think you'd be fun to run one with. ^w^

Greetings and salutations!

Welcome to RP Nation, where Roleplay is our business.

You've found us, congratulations for choosing the best RP site on the whole intertubes, we're glad you're here and a part of the expanding universe that is RP Nation. Also, now you're officially one of the cool kids.

Before you being your quest to becoming one of the old hats here at RPN, please do take a second and take a look at the site rules. You can find them here: INFO - Official Site Rules | RpNation.com - Best Roleplay Forum.

Unlike the Pirate code, they aren't more like suggestions but rules that we take a bit seriously. If, however, you've got a few pieces of eight you'd like to swing our way, we're always more than happy to take it. (I said, the rules weren't suggestions, never said we weren't piratey mate).

Once you've had a glance over the rules there's more information to be had here: Site Questions & Information | RpNation.com - Best Roleplay Forum. You can find something there to answer just about any question you might have.

Now then, I know that you have to answers that you're wanting answered now and the first is, you can join any RP that is open. You can find the different RP genres here: Roleplays | RpNation.com - Best Roleplay Forum

They're set up by genre so if you're looking for that Belgariad fandom RP (sorry, none yet exists here) then you'll know you aren't going to be looking in the futuristic genre. Each genre has an interest check at the top of the page and you can peruse this to see if anyone is wanting to create an RP.

If you are trolling the RPs and you just gotta make your own futuristic version of the Elenium, then you can pick the genre (future or fandom? I don't know!) and create an interest check. In the interest check you can tell the whole world about your RP and what you want to do with it. If you get enough people to say Aye! then you create your RP.

If you have any questions, issues, or concerns, don't hesitate to get in touch with either the moderators of your forum (the genre), the Super moderators, or even the admin staff. You can do that here: Site Questions & Information

If you have any questions you need to address to me, please tag me in your comments as I don't always get to every single response in every welcome thread and I end up missing a lot of questions. You can do that by using the @ before my handle.

Again, welcome to RPN and happy RPing.

I like fantasy, modern/realistic, and the occasional fandom, but I'm open to anything.

I like much the same. I'm still trying to ease my way back in cause it's been so long since I've done these properly.

I've always been a sucker for a good fantasy rp. I've not done a lot of moderns personally. As far as fandoms go when I like a series I tend to create ocs instead of playing with existing characters mostly just following the lore of the world. :)

Same here. What few modern roleplays I've been in, I've enjoyed. Fantasy is my favorite, and with fandom, I like using my OCs best.

What are your favorite rps you've had on here if you don't mind me asking :)

I don't mind.

I'm co-moderating a Code Lyoko one now, and it's been entertaining. I'm also in a 1x1 for Dragon Age Inquisition. There was one that I liked, but it died. My character was a kleptomaniac guardian angel (I promise it makes sense) who was assigned to watch after a murderous thief.

I think my favorite was my first RP ever. I started it last May, with one of my RL best friends. I fell in love with role-playing, and he introduced me to RPN. Our original roleplay is still alive and well. I think my character has a crush on his character, though.

Okay...you can't say something like kleptomaniac guardian angel and expect me not to want to know more...that's just too awesome!!!

And yeahhh my inner shipper comes out sometimes when I rp but I can't help it xD
