Snowed in - We are snowed in the school!

The weather warnings blared from local news and local radio. But we didn't listen and still went to school. First, it started snowing. Then, it started to blizzard. Then, the power went off. Those who were lucky (or foolish) enough to have driven in today left. Cell towers are down, and everyone is starting to panic.

Tori looked down at her her lunch. Ick. They call this healthy? She was bumped into and nearly dropped everything. "Sorry..." She muttered. She hated being the new kid to school in the middle of the school year. Everyone else had a chance to meet each other and get close bonds. And her? She shook the thought from her head. Not going to let it get her down. She found an empty table and sat. She pulled her phone out and saw there were no bars. Damn storm... She had lived in Arizona before moving to Montana. "I'm gonna freeze to death..." She slowly dug into the food.
 
Ace decided to talk to the new girl at lunch. This was going to be difficult, he had never actually talked to girls. He went and sat with her at lunch.


"Hey I herd your the new kid?" He started. What a dumb way to start. "So what's your name?"
 
Tori jumped. "It's Victoria. But everyone just calls me Tori." She replied. "Its rude to ask a name but not give one." She added sarcastically.
 
"S-sorry" he smiled a little "The names Ace by the way," he looked at her, then at his lunch. "School lunches are the worst." He tried to start a conversation. "Your from Arizona, right" he looked at the blizzard outside. Dammit I had plans later today. "I'm from Massachusetts," he smiled trying to make Tori feel better.
 
"At least your somewhat used to this kind of weather." Tori said, then sighed. "Are lunches usually this... bad?" She asked. She looked outside again. When will this stop? Probably not any time soon....
 
"Yeah I guess you could say that" he looked at his reflection, "And all school lunches are bad. I don't eat it, seeing as I don't eat in general" he was too skinny for his age because food wasn't appetizing to him anymore of course he had to eat cause it kept him alive, but that was every week or two. As he looked at his reflection in his phone he noticed he only had one piercing in and that he had no bars or reception. "Demon weather" he cursed, as he put his other piercing in. "So what do you do for fun?"
 
Time for the new kid 20 questions. "I read a lot. And watch anime." Tori replied. Then, the lights flickered, but stayed on.
 
"Cool I watch anime and sing" he left it at that. He was more concentrated on the blizzard and the lunch, he didn't wanna push Tori, so he didn't.
 
"What grade are you in? I'm a freshman." She said. Then, there was a beep, and a voice over the load speaker. "Students, report to the auditorium." Tori's heart beat faster.
 
He walked with Tori to the Auditorium. "I'm a Sophomore. and you might wanna follow me" He smiled offering his hand so she didn't get lost, most guys would have been embarrassed to do this but he was weird that way. and most girls turned him down on this gesture of kindness. But hey its worth a try right?


He smiled catching a friend of his "Alec Do you know whats going on?"


"No not really saving you and new girl a seat tho" Alec smiled walking off.
 
She took his hand. "Alec a friend of yours?" Tori asked. Then she thought about what taking a hand could be. Does he like me? She thought.
 
"Yeah Alec is like my brother from another mother," he smiled at her, she was very pretty but he couldn't make out his feelings for her just yet he'd have to get to know her. "Well come on he saved us seats." He lead her to the auditorium.
 
Tori followed. A tall man in a dark suit stood on the stage behind a podium. He tapped on the Mic, "If you could please find a seat." He spoke.
 
He sat down and put his feet up. "Comfy huh?" he looked at Tori. He smiled, he hated seeing people alone especially girls. He looked in his backpack, Paoo his kitten was still there, "hey bud how are you?" he dropped his voice to a whisper. Paoo purred silently. "good" he fed the Kitten some food and put him on his lap. Paoo was pure black with piercing green eyes. "now hush Paoo we don't want you caught."
 
Tori lightly pet the kitten. She couldn't figure this guy out. "You have a kitten with you? Isn't that against the rules?" She asked, whispering.
 
"never said anything" He smiled evily. "and I can't leave him alone with 2 dogs" He loved Paoo. the kitten climbed onto Tori "he likes you"
 
"No you can't" He said in a mocking tone. A kid stood up it was a friend of his that was on the other side of the room. "Why are we here?"
 
The man kept his composure. "As you know, the storm is getting worse and we've already had a power fluctuation. School has been canceled until further notice." The entire student body cheered. "But, phone lines and cell towers are down, so there is no way to contact a ride. And for those who drove to school, you can't leave." Tori felt panicked. What if granny tries to come and get me? "How long are we stuck here?" A kid in the front row yelled. "Until we can get out." The man said.
 
Ollie was sitting alone in the very back of the auditorium. His hands balled into fists at the man's announcement. They were stuck at school? Great. He would rather be anywhere else in the world than here. The mutterings of the crowd gave Ollie the perfect opportunity to sneak out of the auditorium. If they were going to be stuck there for a while, he figured he might as well re-gel his mohawk. With the clack of his combat boots filling the empty hallways, Ollie made his way toward the men's restroom.
 
He didn't like the news, but it would give him time. He hated being alone in his house, "lucky break i guess," he took Paoo off of Tori's lap and put him in his bag and walked out of the auditorium.
 
Clunking down the hallway, Ollie heard someone else leave the auditorium. As he turned around, he saw a boy and maybe.. was that a cat? Rolling his eyes, he continued walking. First the school turns into a literal prison in which they are trapped and then there is a petting zoo? "Nice kitty" he sneered before turning around again.
 
"No need to be rude" he snarled back, walking past the boy quietly singing Sleeping With Sirens, Do What we want.


He got to his locker, this place was hell, he felt bad for leaving Tori.
 
Ollie was taken aback by how violently the other boy had reacted. "Little emo kids thinking they run the world," he muttered under his breath. He turned into the men's bathroom and pulled out his hair gel and began fixing his mohawk while loudly screaming "Anarchy in the UK" by the Sex Pistols and laughing as his voice echoed off of the walls. He wondered how many people in the school could hear him.
 
He didn't think he ruled the world. He acted that way so he wouldn't get hurt. His parents died in a train accident. he started to cry, Paoo meowed softly.


"I know Paoo"
