Today was the day, the day Chris' father was going to get married. It took a while for Chris to get over his mothers death, and some people think that he's better now, but really; He never will be. Chris sighed as he heard his father talking to his soon-to-be-mom in the distant. They both seemed to be so happy with each other, that it kind of hurt Chris that it would never be just him and his dad. Either way, the only thing that mattered was that his dad was happy.
Chris had helped to book the wedding. He had chosen the restaurant that his Mom and Dad always used to go on dates with. They had a big outdoor area, so it would be perfect for all the seats and tables. He watched sadly as his new parents danced happily int the middle of the whole wedding. Again, They looked so perfect together. He sighed, taking another bite of his red-velvet cupcake. He looked around and saw a girl, probably a little younger than himself, sitting about 2 tables away from the one he was at. He stood up and put down the half-eaten cupcake and started walking towards her.
Chris sat down on the seat opposite her, smiling a little at her."Hi. I'm Chris," He lifted out his hand for her to take. "Nice to meet you." He smiled again, glancing at the couple that was sitting back down on their own seats. "They look so perfect for each other, don't you think?" He smirked a little, returning to the girl. "So, What's you--" Chris turned around at hearing his name.
"Christopher! Come up here, my boy!" His dad shouted. Chris shook his head, a little embarrassed and headed up over to the stage. "My boy..." It looked as if he was about to cry. "We can finally start over again..." His dad turned around and gave his new wife a quick peck on the cheek. She giggled childishly. "Kanya! Come here too!" Chris looked over at the girl who seemed to be walking up on the stage. It was the same girl who he had tried to befriend earlier. "Now we can all be a happy family!"
Chris turned around to face his dad. "Wait, WHAT?!"
(P.S. We haven't met, and we don't know we are step-siblings.)
Kanya paused her game to look up at the boy, seemingly older than she is a bit. She put the handheld away into her jeans' pockets and nodded. "Yeah... I hope things will go well this time..." Then the boy, or Chris, was called onto the stage. "So he would be my stepbrother...." She mumbled before walking up to the stage.
Chris tried to remain calm in front of the crowd, and pulled his dad over to the side. "Why didn't you tell me about this!?"His dad just shook his head and sighed. "I'm sorry Son...I though it would be for the better..."Chris nodded his head, not wanting to lose his temper. "I just don't want to go through what happened with Jessie...again..." Chris looked down at the floor. Jessie, Chris' sister, was in the car crash that his mom had died in. He shook his head and walked off the stage and into the car.
~Time Skip to after honeymoon~
Chris smiled to himself as the car full of his new mother and sister pulled into the driveway of his house. He was beginning to like having a mom, and even a sister. They were going to move into their house. It was big enough for all of them, so it wouldn't be too much of a problem. He walked over to the car and started taking their bags into their correct rooms. Kanya's and Chris' room were right next to each other. Now that was one thing he didn't agree with. He sighed, and walking back outside again. "Kanya, C'mon. I want to show you something..." Chris motioned for her to follow him. He decided that he might as well try to make a friendship with her.
Kanye looked at Chris from the stage and sighed. "Off to a bad start already..."
Kanya put her handheld away once they were at their home. She helped Chris to put their bags away to each's rooms before Chris said that he wanted to show her something. "What is it?" Kanya asked and followed Chris, wondering what it might be.
Chris looked over his shoulder and smirked a little, opening the door to her room. "Sorry about the mess, but look..." He followed her in and watched her expressions. There was a big banner that read, 'Welcome Home!' and to the right there was a medium-sized TV with 1 f the latest gaming consoles under it. On her blue bed there was 3 games that would work with her hand-held console. "Sorry if I went a bit overboard...I didn't know what you liked..." Chris smiled, walking in and sitting on the edge of the bed. He sniffed the aroma and smiled sadly to himself. It smelled just like Jessie.
Kanya looked at the games and console, widening her eyes with excitement. It had been a long time since she had last smiled, the last time being on the car with her dad and mom. "Oh thank you!"She jumped at Chris and hugged him, smiling. "The PS4... Kingdom Heart 3D... Oh thank you! I have been saving up for these things for a long time now!"
Chris laughed a little, happy that she liked it."No problem...Anything for my new sis!" He widened his eyes nervously. "Okay, that sounded weird..." He laughed again, as she hugged him. Chris' eyes widened. Why did this feel nice? Her skin was smooth an-- No. Stop. Chris playfully pushed her lightly away, trying to hide his slowly growing bulge in his pants. "So, Uh, Do you want to have a go with me?"
"Did you have some practice with these games?" Kanya said, raising a brow at Chris. She would like to play with him fair and square. She immediately turned on the TV and the console, checking through the games that were downloaded onto the console with the wireless controller.
"...Uh who?" Who is Jessi...?" Kanya asked, a bit curious and scared that she might only be a replacement. She had always wanted an older brother but not one treating her like a replacement...
Chris scratched the back of his neck nervously, keeping his eyes on the screen. "Well...I guess I should tell her..." He muttered to himself and shuffled closer to Kanya. "Um, Well...Jessie was my past sister." He paused. "She passed away with my Mom..." He smiled sadly, placing his hand on her thigh. "But it's okay. You're with me now..."
"Don't say that this is her room..." Kanya said, looking at Chris. "Am I... just a replacement?" She put the controller down and said, staring at the floor. She then went quiet, but anyone would feel her was sad and upset.
Chris looked concerned, with a twist of anger. "No! Of course you're not! Never say that!" He squeezed her thigh lightly. "But, Unfortunately, This is her room..." Chris sighed and embraced her in a tight hug.
"Can you...let me have some time alone...?" Kanya asked quietly, looking away from Chris even when he hugged her. The fact that this is Chris's sister's room made her felt like she was a replacement of sorts, just letting Chris to see her not as herself, but as somebody else.
Chris nodded his head and let go of her. "But..I-If you'd like too..." He paused, looking out of the nearby window and noticing that it was nearly dark. "We could go grab something to eat in the town..." He smiled sadly. "I think we should give our parents some alone time...If you know what I mean?" Chris bit his lip and nodded his head apologetically. "Or, Uh, We could just eat junk food and hang out?" He shrugged, trying to make her laugh. It didn't seem to be working. "I'll just go now..." He turned around and headed for the door.
Kanya turned off the TV and console before tucking herself under the blanket. She felt alone like she was feeling before. No one understood her. No one wanted to see her as she is... She let a tear run down from her eye and soon, she fell asleep.
Chris ventured into his own room and sat down on his own bed. What an idiot he was right now. He cradled his head in his hands and decided that in exactly 1 hour he would go in there and be the best brother he could ever have been.
~1 hour later~
Chris leapt up from the bed and rushed into Kanya's room. She was sleeping, almost peacefully. He smiled to himself and picked her gently up without waking her up. He took her to his own room and laid her down on his own bed. He then covered her with all of the blankets he had in his possession. Chris reached under his bed and took out is secret stash, which was filled with: Sweets, Energy drinks, Packets of cigarettes, etc. He took out a cigarette and walked over to the window. He then lit it up and took a big drag out of it. He dropped it down out the window once he was finished and walked back over to the bed. Chris opened a packet of sweets and took a small one out. He looked over at Kanya. Wow...She was really beautiful. He sighed and started stroking her hair. Next thing you know, Chris fell asleep next to Kanya; And they were pretty close...
Next morning, luckily that it was summer or else they would be late for school by now, Kanya woke up and looked around, recognizing that this wasn't Jessie's room. "Wh-Where is this place..." She looked around until he saw Chris. "Wh-What th-th-aahh!" She rolled off the bed and fell onto the floor. "Ugh..." She groaned as she slowly got up.
Chris yawned as he was awoken by some sort of commotion. He rubbed his eyes and looked over at Kanya. "Oh, Good morning..." He stood up immediately. "Oh god! Sorry, I swear I didn't do anything!" Chris put his hands up in surrender. He looked down at his clothing. "Ugh, Shit!" His shorts were 'a bit low' and he quickly pulled them up. "Oh my god, Oh my god! This is so awkward..." Chris sighed, looking down at the floor.
"This is damn awkward alright! You should have leave me in my room!" Kanya exclaimed angrily before walking outside, back to her own room. She plopped down onto the bed in order to ease the pain from the fall. "What was he thinking anyways..." She sighed.
Chris sighed as she left the room. He just wanted to apologise and hang out with her. Chris thought it would be better not to go apologise right now, so he just took out his uniform and started getting unchanged into it. This was a very awkward first impression. Once we was changed, he knocked on Kanya's door. "Uh, Kanya? I've got you're school uniform here. It's the girl's version, so don't worry!" He laughed nervously.
"I don't need it right now. Wait for next week or something." Kanya flatly replied before locking her room's door and went to the bathroom which was connected to her room. She came out a while later in clean clothes and began playing games, still keeping everyone out.
Chris felt a little hurt about her remark. "But you are coming to school, right?"He called out. This was not working out, but Chris didn't want to give up now. He walked down the stairs to see their parents kissing passionately on the couch. Chris was sure he could've puked. He quickly grabbed a piece of paper and wrote on it:
Please come out?
I need to drive you to school.
- Chris xx
He then slipped it under the door and waited for something to happen.
(I think it's time for Kanya to start falling in love with Chris? =D)
"I'm not going to school until next week." Kanya said while playing her games. The paper would need at least a few days until she can go to school. While playing, she noticed the piece of paper and paused her game to take a look at it. She then crumpled it and threw it into the trash can. "Didn't I already tell you? I won't go to school for at least a week."
