Slippery Scales of Decipet

He blinked for a little while, then he gave up and laid against her, "I won't run away, I'd work myself until I compeltely pass out, alright" He sighed heavily, in defeat.

"And we wouldn't want that, would we? Passing out in general isn't a very good thing." Emma teased him, tapping his shoulder with the tip of her tail "Sure, you're technically resting at that point, but not by choice, and definitely not in a safe spot."

He blinked a little bit, "Thank you..." He shivered a little bit, shivering and blushing, "Thanks... I guess." He kept himself asleep, yawning and eventually falling asleep.

Emma soon fell asleep, herself. In the morning, she was the first to wake up, though all she did this time was unwrap her tail from Aaron's body, not really wanting to get out of bed at the moment. She did this so that, in case she fell asleep again, the workaholic could get back to his work when he woke up.

He got up, moving right over to the tree and cutting into it. He felt half asleep, but he was able to at least stay half awake. After a long time, eventually, suddenly the tree finally cut down. Whe nshe awoke, he managed to make a small makeshift wall to have the entire supplies be held.

Emma rubbed her eyes and looked at the work Aaron had done "...How long was I asleep?" She joked, before getting out of bed "You sure got to work on that quickly."

He looked up, "you slept unt ilmidday. I've been working for a long time in orde rto do so." He smiled, "are you feeling any better?"

"I'm not aware of any reason why I wouldn't be, why?" Emma asked back, a little bit confused by Aaron's question. Was she not feeling well last night? She didn't recall anything like that.

"You just seemed off to met last night, I mean... sorry, I'll just shut up." He sat down, looking around, "Is there anything that you need me to do at the moment?"

"Well, I'd say get back to work on that food storage thing you were working on before, but you seem to have already finished that, so... No, not really, I guess." Emma told him.

He looked around, "So... what do you watn to do for the remainder of this entire time?" He asked, leaning agiasnt the wall, mainly out of the back his back was hurting violetnly.

"I'm sure you're most likely exhausted after all of that work. Why not rest and maybe chat for a while?" Emma offered "You deserve it, after all."

"Well, I don't believe we've discussed much about Human culture, have we? You seemed rather surprised when you first met me, do so few Humans really know about us?" Emma asked, figuring she'd start off the conversation.

He blinked, "Yes, very few people really know anything about the monsters. They genreally stay in their villages and castles, they don't trust the outside world. It's just worrysome for us to try and figure out what's out there."

"Ah, I see. So you're not the only coward among the Humans?" Emma teased him, laughing a little bit to emphasize that it was a lighthearted joke.

"Er, that was unprecedented, wasn't it?" Emma asked, not sure why she was ashamed for saying that "I apologize, perhaps I shouldn't have said that."

He shrugged, "I'm used ot it Emma, it's all alright." He looked around, trying ot alleviate the temptation, "What do you want to know about humans?"

"Well, I suppose I'm most curious as to how your society works, seeing as you seem to operate on a higher level than us monsters." Emma said "So I suppose my next question would be... What's Human life like, on a regular day?"

"For most, it involves hoeing the land and planting, harvesting and repairing homes. Royals generally deal with them and their disputes. I have little since I'm... me."

"Ah, I see. What's special about you that absolves you from those responsibilities?" Emma asked, curious.

"Oh, really?" Emma replied "That sounds remarkably similar to how a Lamia Queen's hierarchy works. The queen rules over the village of Lamias, with only the ones born under them having magical abilities and being able to succeed their mother."
