Fantasy Slayers: Modern Maniacs

"Ah, I see. Well, I'll tell ya what. You win the game on Friday, and you'll have an excellent chance at getting a real first kiss. Even though it'd most likely be with a tomboyish, weird, monster-killing and overall bitchy freshman." Jane said, winking slightly and grinning. She was serious...this was...unexpected of her.
Jane then leaned over and planted a kiss upon Luke's cheek. "Now...let's train." She said and stood up, a smile on her lips after kissing the boy's cheek. She picked up her staff and took a few steps back and twirled er staff around. "Ready when you are...sweetheart." She said, playfully mimicking what he'd always called her.

(Now Luke has to decide: Will he show the rest of the Slayers his quiet and caring side, or keep up the illusion?)

Luke placed his hand on his cheek as she go up. rubbing it almost in disbelief. "I'm definitely winning that game.". He used his staff to pick himself up, still curiosity on his face. Jane couldn't be serious, she despised Luke right? And now she wanted him? Maybe it was all a plan, just to go out with the hunk of high school? These thoughts were of course didn't matter, for Luke did feel something towards Jane, but now he was in a world of trouble, how to act. He chose to remain cocky, just to spite her sarcasm, and nothing more. But he would show that he was caring, turn a new leaf at least with this girl. Luke struck a fighting pose, "To beat you again, I'm ready for that anytime." He gave a wink as the girl would rebuttal his statement.

"As I recall, I beat you last time, tiger." Jane said and gave Luke a wink in response. "But enough talk, fight on!" She said, challenging him and twirling her staff. "Who knows, I may even peck your cheek again if you win." She said, smirking.

"There it is. Can you hold these?" he asked before dumping the books into her hands. Reaching up, he brushes the book with his fingertips. Standing on his toes now, he pulls the book out enough so it would fall, and he caught it. "There we go. The book has been get. Now is there anyrhing else we may need? Just in case."

With this kind of promise on the line Luke tensed, letting the wind almost beckon for his strike. Swing the staff in an arch it came upon the back of Jane's knees, hoping to finish it quickly. If she dodged it would leave a few opportunities for Luke though, oh the decisions.

She fell to her knees. "Not bad. But you'll have to work harder than that." She commented, grinning. She sprung up and kneed his stomach, then back flipped and twirled her staff. She then swung her staff and bumped his shoulder with it, hoping to make him either drop the staff from the sudden strike, or make him a little dazed.

The stomach was nothing, he had felt more power during football, but the staff to the shoulder was something. The moment it touched his shoulder he brought up his staff, knocking it loose of the blow. Then while he staff was bounced off he took the time to sweep her legs, waiting for her to fall in order to make the win.

Jane was swept off her feet. Quite literally. Her staff flew from her hand and landed on the ground, she twirled in the air for about 5 seconds before falling flat on the ground. "Not bad...for a lughead jock." She said jokingly, shooting a warm and friendly smile up at him from the ground.

Luke held out his staff for her to grab on to, "Not to bad for a beautiful freshman." Giving her a smile as he awaited. "So that kiss?". Luke didn't blush, but his cheek might have got slightly warmed at this question.

She took his staff in hand and used it to pull herself off of the ground. Jane wiped the little bit of dirt off of her and grinned. "You won, fair and square..." She said, taking his jaw in her hand and planting another kiss on his cheek. Oh my god he's chiseled like a statue...She thought. She backed away after kissing his cheek. "Now, let's see if you can win the game on Friday." She said, giving him a wink and picking her staff up off the ground and going back inside the Pit.

He watched her walk off, trying not to 'watch' the typical aspect. When she hopefully out of hearing distance, "God she's hot." Convincing himself, for she was actually quite fetching. He didn't know why and for now he wouldn't question his attitude towards her, maybe later when he got that kiss. With this he followed her back into the pit, allowing himself to explore the weapons wall, trying to find Conner something decent.

Jane slipped on her ring, simply to quickly equip her blades rather than having to reach for them on the weapons wall. She sighed. "Man...I'm already sick of wearing this bloody outfit when I kill things. I really like this shirt." She said. She unsheathed her swords and twirled them, swinging them around in a corner, training with them safely. "I believe I can help that, my dear..." Said the voice of Wynonna. She at first wondered who it was, but remember the woman who helped her...she paused. "Uh...how?" She asked, but before Wynonna could answer, tiny balls of light surrounded Jane. She started laughing. "Hahaha...t-this tickles!" She exclaimed through her laugh. When the light was gone, Jane's bloody Slayer clothing was replaced by a dark tank top and a pair of cargo pants and combat boots and finger-less gloves. "Woah...I know I mentioned having 'uniforms' before, but this is...awesome!" She said. It was really normal clothing...but now that it was to be worn for saving the world? It was abnormal clothing. "You'll find that all Slayers now have new clothes when they put on their rings...your welcome." Wynonna's voice said before fading. Jane continued to train with her blades. (Luke's outfit is going to be bad arse, just you wait, gonna be the perfect werewolf hunter)

Luke was scrounging through the wall, looking for something blunt for Conner. There were clubs, but they posed a challenge to lift even for Luke. Instead he picked out a mace, not longer then a short sword, but with enough power could crack some skulls. He placed it away for later and picked up his long sword, but didn't put his ring on, for he wanted to practice alone with this. Coming upon one of the many training dummies, he began his vast movements, tearing it limb by limb.

Jane sheathed her blades and slipped her ring off her finger and placed it into her pocket. She scanned the weapon wall, searching for a smaller weapon to use for when her blades may not be enough. "Something small....something deadly..." She whispered to herself as she scanned the wall.
A pair of steel nunchucks catches Jane's eye. Small spikes reside on the ends. She picked them up and began working with them. "Nunchucks, aye? These'll do just fine for a backup weapon." She said to herself, slipping her ring back on and putting the nunchucks on a small sheath-like spot. She then took her ring off and was back in her normal clothes. She glanced over at Luke training with a dummy, and then glanced at Amelia and Conner as they came back with a book from the library.

"Mr. Grey, we found the book and everything else that looked promising," Amelia announced, dumping the stack of books she had in her arms on the table in front of him. Looking at it now, it was as if they had practically taken an entire bookshelf out of the library. Hopefully Mr. Grey would let the two of them help research the werewolves. Knowledge was power. They all knew it. And it was like Conner had said: they would need a plan to take on smart and organized predators like werewolves.

"The whole full moon deal, that's true, right?" Amelia asked.

"Luke, did you find me something?" Conner yelled out to Luke. He didn't really expect him to find something, the club thing was half a joke. But either way he stuck with Amelia. If anything he would become the perfect study buddy on researching mystical nasty things that wanted them dead.

"Ahh, thank you." Mr. Grey said to Amelia and Conner kindly, a small smile on his face. "And, no. A full moon doesn't signal their transformation. A full moon is just when a werewolf is at it's strongest...they transform every night." He said.

"Actually yea Conner I did," He emerged in the room, giving a smile to everyone. "Not a club, but a spiked mace will do the deed." He held out the mace to Conner, hoping he didn't drop it from the weight. He looked back onto Jane giving her a light smile, for he was still trying to contemplate her.

Jane walked from the weapons wall to the entrance. She looked in Luke's direction and shot a small smile back at him. "Well guys, since there's no alert and nothing needs killing, I'm gonna head out into the real world." She said, slinging her backpack over her shoulder. She then proceeded to exit the Pit alone. Mr. Grey didn't stop her, meaning it was safe outside. She began her walk into the woods quietly.

"Guess that means I'm out too, everyone have a nice day." Luke left the pit, giving Conner his mace in the meantime. He caught up to Jane and began walking next to her, allowing ample space in between. Hands in his pocket he made no movement to talk until she acknowledged him.

"Oh, thank you." Conner said before taking the mace. It was heavy, but he was expecting it and so didn't drop it. "Did you know, knights actually used a mace more then they did swords. They did this, because maces crushed through armor and bone. While swords, on the other hand, had to be aimed at the less protected joints of the armor." As he let his nerd out, he inspected the spiked mace.

Jane finally noticed Luke as he walked by her. "Oh, hey Luke." She said, still walking in the woods. She glanced back at him as she walked ahead of him by about 2 feet.
(Now I'm not getting notifications, lol)

"Hey beautiful, where are you headed?" Luke planned to take her out, one way or another he was going somewhere with her. "Got any plans that include a lugheaded jock?".

"Oh, ya know. Might grab a bite to eat, head to Hot Topic, or Gamestop. Can't really picture you in either of those stores, though" She said, a small grin across her face. "Why? Did a lughead jock wanna tag along?" She asked with a smirk.

"Well I'm not very hungry, but I wouldn't mind going." He wanted to go, for its not like he had any dates to go to. "Come on, I'll even pay for the date, if I can call it that.". He reached out his hand, beckoning her to take the first step towards Juke.
