Fantasy Slayers: Modern Maniacs

"I only meant... that... perhaps we could practice together," Amelia lied, trying to save face. Why was Jane so hostile? What did Amelia ever do to deserve such cruelty?

No. She would not let Jane push her around. She would stand up for herself. If Jane was looking for a fight, Amelia would fight back. "Come, Luke. We have to find Mr. Grey," she said, holding out her elbow so he could escort her. In reality, she didn't want anything to do with Mr. Grey. She was terrified of him. But Jane and Luke had a rocky relationship. They both liked each other in a strange love-hate way and Amelia knew she could push Jane's buttons by getting closer to Luke.

Though Jane was at least three times better than Amelia at slaying monsters, Amelia was well-versed in a different type of fighting. She would fight like a girl - a mean girl.

Jane started to walk out of the room, backpack over her shoulder. Today she was dressed in an outfit she created herself. (Will post image) She noticed Amelia's actions and...wasn't happy. "Yes...why...doesn't that sound like a great idea, the two of you working together." She said, grinding her teeth together. Jealousy maybe? Jane then 'stormed' out and walked down the hallway of the school.

Luke knew this game all to well, for it he had been in the middle of it plenty of times, but this one actually mattered. He watched as Jane stormed out, actually saddened that she didn't fight for him. Turning to Amelia, he took the option to escort her, not really knowing why they were going to look for Grey. "Just a question Amelia, but do you really want to go find Mr. Grey?".

Jane walked angrily out of the building. Totally bothered by Amelia being a...well, Jane doesn't typically use every word a sassy tomboy would use. She crossed her arms and walked down the street. She was able to tell by certain buildings and landmarks she deemed where the Pit was. It wasn't far out of town, nearby the woods. She walked alone, despite Takao's (@KroNicc115 ) offer to go with her.

Amelia really wished she could divert the question. No, she did not want to find Mr. Grey. However, she didn't need anyone thinking that she disliked him. She would have to work with him for some time, no doubt. Better to forgive and forget - or just find some compromise. "What I want doesn't matter, Luke. Being a Slayer is much larger than that. We have a duty to find him," she said ironically as she was probably the last person in the group to take her Slayer duties seriously. It's not like she was very useful to the group. Heck, Terra was better than she was!

"He might be in trouble," Amelia said quietly, a pang of guilt and fear in her voice.

"Wow, as much as I appreciate your expertise in the Slayers, you still don't seem the type to go out of your way for it." Amelia seemed very suspicious, Mr. Grey was probably sick, and if he was in trouble he could just teleport. Either was Amelia seemed set on it for some reason, "Well then lets go, the pit is a good as place as any to start.". With that Luke escorted Amelia out of the school, getting quite a few looks from any kids left in the hallways. Luke wasn't unhappy carrying Amelia, but flirting with her wouldn't go over well.

"I got nothing planned for the rest of the day." Conner said once the drama was over and gone. Girl's were flat out weird. Sometimes they were nice and easy to understand. Other times they made his head spin around and end up wondering what just happened. getting up, he walks out of the door and to his red bike, he didn't walk to school every day. Getting on and moving his backpack around so it was comfortable, he pushes off and heads towards the Pit.

(Morning y'all! @KroNicc115 @Beowulf @CloudKitteh )

Jane was far ahead of everyone. Stupid Amelia...She thought. Her arms were folded, she walked quickly. She would need to cross the street in order to get to the part of town leading to the woods where the Pit was. She pressed the button and waited for traffic to stop while she waited. Glancing around, she noticed that Amelia (@MysticPisces ) and Luke (@Huntrey )were close, their arms together. She exhaled and turned away from them as she watched the traffic continue on.

The crosswalk signaled for them to cross. Before Luke and Amelia could even get close to her, Jane hurried to the other side of the road, leaving them both (@Huntrey @MysticPisces ) in the dust on her other side of it. She quickly made her way into the woods alone. Not a smart move, but a bold one. Mr. Grey missed school for a reason, and that reason may be waiting for Jane as she walked into the woods...(#foreshadowing lol)

Conner easily biked down the road, taking his time. He was doing the right things so he wouldn't get in trouble with the cops or anybody. This was rather refreshing to him, the wind blowing in his face and him easily going places. It wasn't like driving, but it was something else. Quietly humming a aimless tune, Conner reaches the cross walk with Luke and Amelia, and promptly goes right by them. It looked like they knew where they were going, and so did he.

Terra followed a little ways behind Takao, her face red with the recollections of the beach trip. Upon hearing Amelia's words, she couldn't help but feel slightly annoyed. True, being a Slayer probably wasn't the best thing that had happened to her, but there was no reason to verbally show her resent of it.

Jane was a long way form the others, she moved quickly. She stepped into the woods alone, stepping on a few sticks and breaking them. Calmly, yet also angrily because of Amelia, she moved through the woods quietly. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a figure lurking by a tree. She quickly turned her head, only to find nothing there. Odd...she thought. She kept going through the woods, only seeing more figures, several of them looking like men and women, but something was off about them. She could never fully see them. Only for a quick second each. She started to move faster, feeling watched. "Maybe it was stupid coming to the forest alone..." She whispered to herself.

As the light changed for the two to cross, Amelia slipped her arm out from Luke's grasp. "You go on ahead," she urged him. "I just need to pick something up from the store here," she said, pointing to a pharmacy over her shoulder. "Don't worry!" she added before he could object. "I'll catch up."

The truth was, Amelia didn't need anything from the pharmacy. The two of them had passed a crafty collectibles store a block back and Amelia had an idea. It was farfetched to think the thin book she had found would allow her to decipher the language with a rock, but she wanted to try. Perhaps she could pick up a prism stone from the store and try again. After all, it never hurt to try. And the worst that would happen? A few dollars down the drain. In the name of curiosity, Amelia set off for the store.

Jane heard snapping of twigs and sticks, she was surrounded by unknown figures, all hidden behind trees. She threw her backpack to the ground and readied herself in a fighting stance. "Alright, c'mon, show yourselves!" She demanded.

Conner continued down an overgrown path, humming his tuneless tune.. This was they way he took to get back home twice already, so he knew it was the right way. Then he saw Jane up ahead, freaking out by the looks of it. Slowing down, but not stopping, he shouts, "Is everything ok?"

(I think most of us are online for once, lol @Huntrey @KroNicc115 @CloudKitteh @Beowulf @MysticPisces )

"Something's surrounding us...we're not alone here." She replied, looking around, her fists clenched up and ready to fight the mysterious figures. Suddenly, a ball of fire came at her from one of the trees' direction, she dodged and rolled out of the way. She sprung back up. "Who the hell's throwing fireballs?!" She demanded. But it was useless...the figures were gone. She and those with her were alone. "C'mon...let's go." She said, picking up her backpack and moving quickly to the Pit.

Terra nodded and followed hesitantly after Jane, slightly shaken up from the fire balls. "I have a feeling that Mr. Grey may not be there," she murmured to herself, keeping up the pace. "Jane, can we, well, can I grab some medical supplies before we leave the Pit?" If we do leave the Pit. "Anyways, I just want to be prepared.." she trailed off as they reached the Pit's entrance.

"When we get to the Pit, Terra, we can grab anything we'd like. For now, we have to get there to find out what's up with Grey. Maybe that lady Luke told me about is there with answers. I'd like to meet this...Wynonna, was it?" She asked, ahead of the group.

Luke came onto Jane's position, following her slightly from being released by Amelia. The fireball ran past Luke's face, missing him by inches, "What the hell is going on here!?" Luke burst into the clearing, his face red from the fire. He saw Jane and immediately got his composure back, not wanting to seem like anything beside a collected leader.

"Bad stuff. Now, let's hurry to the Pit were there aren't any fire balls being shot at us." Conner said, pedaling ahead of the group. What could shoot fire balls? Perhaps magic was the answer. Or something launched a burning ball of stuff at them. Either or.

"I think we just got a 'hello' from some of those dark witches and warlocks Grey told us about." Jane commented, leading the group to the Pit.
As the Pit same into view, Jane ran inside of it. "Mr. Grey!" She called, hoping to find him. She began searching through the Pit, only to find Mr. Grey at a desk, his nose buried in a huge book. He looked up once she called his name. "Ah, didn't expect to see y--" He began, Jane interrupted him. "Why'd you miss school? And what the hell was throwing fireballs at us in the woods?" Jane asked. He stood immediately. "Fireballs? Perhaps the dark mages have shown themselves...but why I'm here? I have reason to believe that werewolves are to be the next beasts you encounter." He said. "Werewolves?" Jane asked, turning to Luke. "Well, I guess you'll be meeting your enemy monster soon, huh?"

Luke folded his arms, trying to stop the shiver that ran down his spine, "Witches will come later, how do you even kill a werewolves?" He thought back to the fight with zombies, and the power that Jane got. While this would help, it still didn't comfort him. He glanced over in Jane's direction, but averted his eyes, for she would have no answers for anything he wanted to know.

"Don't you ever watch movies? Or play video games? Or heaven forbid you read a book? Silver, that is how you kill a werewolf." Conner said, shocked that it wasn't common knowledge that werewolves didn't like silver.

"The weapons here in the pit are all made with silver, werewolves are incredibly vunerable to it. Their bodies should only be burned if their hearts haven't been destroyed." Mr. Grey said. "Luke's inner Slayer should be unleashed in the fight...but it will no be like Jane's. And I don't know when they're going to attack." He said. (I actually do know when I'm gonna spring 'em on us, don't worry) Jane tapped Luke's stomach with the back of her hand. "Well, I guess it's your time to shine." She said, giving a small smile.
