Fantasy Slayers: Modern Maniacs

He grabbed her hand and stood up feeling a bit dizzy. He headed toward the headstone and rested up against it. "This is no ones fault but my own. I was trying to save a fellow slayer. " He looks over to Terra and smiles blushing slightly.

"Course not. No one was bitten." Conner said, getting his breath back a bit. "How do you do it? Fight those things up close. How do not get tired."

"You're wrong about it not being your fault. If I had the strength to protect myself.." She mumbled. "Never mind, turn around so I can see your back." This was the only time Terra wasn't frightened to death, which was great..she guessed. She didn't return the smile, but called out to Luke again. "Could you bring Jane here?"

He covers Terras mouth with a finger and matching it with a small "Shh. No its not your fault Terra. This could have happened to any one of us. You are just as strong as the rest of us. We all are hear to protect this world as a team, Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses."

Jane tried to get on her feet, but fails, having to rest again. "Gah!" She cries out. "It's alright Luke, not your fault...gimme a hand here, will ya?" She asks, asking to get to Terra.

"Strength and conditioning my shotguneer, everyday for 7 years, does a lot to your body." He chuckled slightly, "If we keep on doing this, I'll put y'all through it too.".

"That's what you might say.." Her gaze softened as she spoke against his finger. "When are you going to turn around to let me see your injury?" Terra looked around and her eyes landed on Luke. "I'm going to need that shirt of yours," she brushed Takao's hand away softly.

He releases his finger and takes off his shirt, turning around for her to see the scratch. "How does it look..?" He is a bit scared to find out.

Her eyes widened slightly and she covered her mouth. It was a little more than a scratch...

"Bad." Terra stopped before adding, "I-uh-mean that it's okay...you're not in there best of conditions, though."

"Great." Conner groaned as he got to his feet. Physical work wasn't his cup of tea. Being behind a computer, now that was where he belonged. Perhaps causing some five year old to rage quit Call of Duty would cheer him up. But he doubted it. Why didn't Grey tell him that being fit would be a plus for the job.

"Can we go now?" Amelia asked, dropping to her knees, relieved that it was all over but annoyed that everyone was having a pity party. The bodies of the recently (re)dead were lying in heaps around them and the air smelled of scorched and rotted flesh. It was a vile scene and Amelia just wanted to get a nice long soak in. And yet the others were sitting around moping. "Let's get out of here," she said, standing up.

"W-w-wait..How bad is it exactly.." He starts to get a bit nervous and gulps waiting for her words.

"Er.. It needs to be treated as soon as possible and I don't have the proper supplies at the moment. Let's it's say that it's close to being infected and that you may not be able to carry heavy weights for some time." She reported, taking in a deep breathe when she was finished. "I'm sorry...but I can't do much right now. Useless as always." Her eyes cast down to her lap, and she refused to meet his eyes.

Jane tried to stand, but ended up holding onto Luke for balance. "I'm gonna need help getting to the others." She said to him. "We'll get going in a minute, princess. Let us heal up." Jane said to Amelia as she held onto Luke.

Takao grabs Terra and hugs her holding her close. Despite the blood stained clothes and such He held her tight. He didn't care that she couldn't help him right then. He was just glad to have her there. "Listen Terra, I'm gonna help you to become a great doctor, I will study with you and help you learn, I don't care if you can't help me right now. All I care about is the fact that you are here at all"

"Get a grip!" she said to Terra, who only seemed to be putting herself down. And Takao wasn't helping by coddling her. "Have some respect for yourself," she sighed. She was tired, too, and all she did was run a lap around the graveyard. But was she having a pity party? No. What was important was that they defeated their enemy and that they get their wounds treated. They couldn't go to a hospital, how could they explain the injuries? "We have to get back to Mr. Grey," Amelia announced. "He'll know how to help," she hoped.

"I agree with her." Conner said. Everyone was tired and two were hurt. To top it all off, they didn't have any medical supplies. The best thing for them to do was go to Grey, who probably could help. And the lovey dovey stuff was making him a bit sick.

"Hey look I was just trying to make her feel a little bit better ok! Just back off. Lets get back to the pit now..I've had enough of today" Takao stood up weakly and kept his balance from the dizziness.

"Hey, assholes! Stop fighting each other. The Pit can't be far...let's go." Jane said, trying to move away from Luke. But her ankle was so weak, she fell to the ground. The woods were the same as last night...the Pit was very close.

Terra helped Takao stand up, a sad smile on her face. She ignored Amelia's words, "We'll get you and Jane treated once we get to the Pit. And thanks...again. But you don't need to help me become a doctor."

Takao Grumbles and they all start heading to the pit. "I will help you and I intend to...You know..Mr. Grey should get us an easier was to get back to the pit."

"What if we try the Circle?" That's dumb. Why the heck did I think of that? "Nevermind, it was a stupid idea."

"Like that would work," Amelia said under her breath. None of the Slayers had any magic. There was no way they could teleport all of them to the Pit. "It's this way," she announced, pointing in a direction. "I walked it last night, it's not too far, but we might want to carry Jane," Amelia said, gesturing to the bloody ankle.

Takao can barely move as it is let alone pick someone up. "I would say I'd help but I can barely move my shoulder Jane.." He looks upset that he is unable to help.
