Five Thousand Club
Aoibheann had a tendency to ignore those who were not of her social class and though she gave due consideration to the teachers on campus they were, well... less than she. "The passionate nature of Fire often makes a person come across too strongly. As Soul probably can attest, those of the nature of Water are much more easy going, they have a tendency to move along the easiest path, destroying mountains if need be to make their going easier. Fire is not as subtle, we don't work slowly or gently. We are the bulldozers. In this, we are similar to Earth. Earth Wardens can take a long time to accomplish their goals but then, they can act swiftly, quickly, leaving everyone in their wake changed. Those of the air are flighty, changeable, that is their nature." She looked at the silent, sullen Tai. "And when water is disturbed, poisoned, it is difficult to get it back to rights. It usually requires Earth to alter the temperament and anger of Water."
She turned her attention to Soul. "And I shall apologize, I had assumed, from your flirting, that you two were involved. Perhaps you and your friend Tai might care to put on a demonstration? If, indeed, you two are the most skilled Water Walkers, then it will prove to be satisfactory to see what you can do with this."
Once more the table erupted into flame, though the table itself was undamaged. Aoibheann whispered in an ancient Gaelic tongue and the flames began to form. They got hotter, turning from red to orange to yellow with a heart of blue and white flames. It grew a tail of bright orange while its body formed out of yellow flame, its eyes became red flame that were similar to her own. It then spread forth great wings of orange with the primary feather edged in blue and tipped in white. "This is the an image of a phoenix, though not a real one. This phoenix is only alive with fire and, once its heart has been quenched, it shall die. It cannot be reborn as it is not a true phoenix. Its heart, however, cannot be quenched so easily, as it will take far more than being drowned to kill it. There requires far more to the effort."
She turned her attention to Jessica. "As a Spirit Talker, if this were a real situation, and you were working with Water Walkers to stop a fire, your best best would be to try and find the Fire Spirit and see what its weakness is so you could better help a Water Walker. Or, if you were working with a Fire Weaver, you'd be able to help her find the Fire Spirit and she would be able to get rid of it. This is merely a game, one I've played many times with a pet." She smiled in fondness as the phoenix turned on her and screeched at her. "Very well, not a pet per se but a friendly Fire Sprite that has been with our family for centuries. She, he, it is pretty crafty and will challenge you. Like all fire sprites, this one isn't exactly friendly to anything water related."
