Slatnemele High

Aoibheann had a tendency to ignore those who were not of her social class and though she gave due consideration to the teachers on campus they were, well... less than she. "The passionate nature of Fire often makes a person come across too strongly. As Soul probably can attest, those of the nature of Water are much more easy going, they have a tendency to move along the easiest path, destroying mountains if need be to make their going easier. Fire is not as subtle, we don't work slowly or gently. We are the bulldozers. In this, we are similar to Earth. Earth Wardens can take a long time to accomplish their goals but then, they can act swiftly, quickly, leaving everyone in their wake changed. Those of the air are flighty, changeable, that is their nature." She looked at the silent, sullen Tai. "And when water is disturbed, poisoned, it is difficult to get it back to rights. It usually requires Earth to alter the temperament and anger of Water."

She turned her attention to Soul. "And I shall apologize, I had assumed, from your flirting, that you two were involved. Perhaps you and your friend Tai might care to put on a demonstration? If, indeed, you two are the most skilled Water Walkers, then it will prove to be satisfactory to see what you can do with this."

Once more the table erupted into flame, though the table itself was undamaged. Aoibheann whispered in an ancient Gaelic tongue and the flames began to form. They got hotter, turning from red to orange to yellow with a heart of blue and white flames. It grew a tail of bright orange while its body formed out of yellow flame, its eyes became red flame that were similar to her own. It then spread forth great wings of orange with the primary feather edged in blue and tipped in white. "This is the an image of a phoenix, though not a real one. This phoenix is only alive with fire and, once its heart has been quenched, it shall die. It cannot be reborn as it is not a true phoenix. Its heart, however, cannot be quenched so easily, as it will take far more than being drowned to kill it. There requires far more to the effort."

She turned her attention to Jessica. "As a Spirit Talker, if this were a real situation, and you were working with Water Walkers to stop a fire, your best best would be to try and find the Fire Spirit and see what its weakness is so you could better help a Water Walker. Or, if you were working with a Fire Weaver, you'd be able to help her find the Fire Spirit and she would be able to get rid of it. This is merely a game, one I've played many times with a pet." She smiled in fondness as the phoenix turned on her and screeched at her. "Very well, not a pet per se but a friendly Fire Sprite that has been with our family for centuries. She, he, it is pretty crafty and will challenge you. Like all fire sprites, this one isn't exactly friendly to anything water related."

Soul just smiled and nodded.Tai on the other hand sighed with annoyance,"I'm not a water elemental",he said bored,"I'm a spirit elemental or talker and",he got up closing his book,"Would prefer if you weren't so high and mighty".He ignored the disapproving look from Soul,"Someone as egoistical and disrespectful as you, doesn't deserve to be a Senior nor even put an example for the class. As far as I'm concerned...you're not worth being an assistant or whatnot.Unlike Soul,I don't have any patience for...annoying people like you",he shrugged carelessly,"For one to think they are all that and simply enter a class when there is only ten minutes left of class and try to teach a lesson, you don't deserve to even be standing in front of this class. From these ten minutes left, you have come an hour and five minutes late,so surely...I don't suggest that you come in all high and mighty. As for your phoenix,it prefers a gentle rush of water,a huge crush of water much like a waterfall,or simply make it rain in a room",he stated, the students around him stared in shock,"And add this along with how snobby you're acting.I'm a Senior as is Soul.I came here because I had a free period, while Soul always spends his time here, seeing how he is also the water elemental teacher's assistant",he scoffed and picked up his book bag, slinging it to his right shoulder,"Also,a majority of classes are mixed with Freshmen,Sophomores,Juniors, and Seniors, even a student with the smallest IQ would know that",and with that the bell rang and he walked out of there like a ghost.Soul gave a huge sigh of stress and rubbed his right hand through his hair trying to calm down.

Soul went up to Aoibheann and bowed politely,"I'm very sorry for Tai's behavior today...he had no right to speak to you like that and I assure you, that this will never happen again",with that he bowed to the teacher, straightened his back, got his book bag and bowed in apology again before leaving the class, most likely to find and scold Tai for his rude and inconsiderate behavior. The teacher sighed deeply,"I am deeply sorry Aoibheann...Tai has a tendency to be rather cold and mean, but he was never like this before, during his Freshman year,he and Soul were the ones that all the girls wanted, but when he came back his Sophomore year,he was completely different from how he was during his Freshman year.Soul is still the Slatnemele High's Heart Throb...but Tai has simply become a heartless young man,he doesn't even show any emotion unless Soul is around".Students were whispering as to how Tai went completely overboard and how he is truly the King of Demons, some had even been shivering when he spoke, scared at what he would say.

She simply raised an eyebrow as Tai spoke and she smiled politely, coldly until he ran from the room. She inclined her head as Soul made his friend's apologies, not that she was sure Tai actually wanted to apologize for anything. Something crawled up his ass and died there. A Spirit Talker, that would explain the huge difference in behavior.

With a flick of her write the sprite was gone. She was on a mission now, her anger and her fire nature was now consuming her. She had a few things to say to this Tai. She concentrated a moment and felt the heat signatures in the room and caught the one that told her it belonged to Tai. She followed it and was unsurprised to find that the one belonging to Soul matched it. She had to move quickly as heat signatures didn't last very long when it came from a human.

She eventually found them but hung back just far enough away to listen in on their conversation without running the risk of being seen.

"Tai Kyung Kaneko, you had no right to speak to Aoihbeann in such a manner, she was only trying to assist and put an example for the class",Soul said sighing with frustration, even using Tai's full name.Tai just shrugged and Soul rubbed his forehead,"Tai!You need to snap out of this!",he said harshly,"Look..I know what happened during the summer, when we were fourteen, was catastrophic for you,but-",he was cut off by Tai's harsh reply."Catastrophic?!Soul! My grandparents were murdered and my brother died in the army!",he screamed, tears threatening to fall,"My grandparents understood me better than my own parents...",his voice went to a whisper as he collapsed onto the floor,Soul knelt down and supported him,"They were...it's my fault...I shouldn't have...",he was babbling now,Soul frowned deeply,"Soul...they killed my grandparents without mercy!I was fourteen at the time!I couldn't do anything! If only you saw the look in their eyes...they didn't care...they...they laughed as my grandparents burned!",he sobbed as Soul rubbed his back.

Tai kept crying,"My own brother...he knew everything about me..he understood me.He was my role model...",he whispered,"But the soldiers that he was with left him to die once he was shot in the stomach! They cared more about their lives than his! They didn't care that he had his family to return to...or his friends to see again",his eyes were red from crying but the tears kept cascading down his face,"Soul! My parents changed my middle name to Kyung because that was my brother's name! They don't want me...they want my perfect, intelligent, courageous older brother back...",he whimpered.Soul frowned even more,"Tai...you know that your parents love you,the love you just as much as they loved Kyung".Tai scoffed and let out a harsh laugh,"The only people who ever truly loved me were my grandparents and Kyung....",he whispered,"Everyone is the same....".Soul frowned,"No they're not Tai...".A growl came from Tai's throat,"They are!",he shouted,"They left my brother to die even though he could have lived! Those damn bastards showed no remorse for killing my grandparents! The moment my brother died,my parents not only mourned, but every time that our neighbors would come by,they would bring up Kyung and ask how everything is!".

Soul rubbed Tai's back and the sobbing, whimpering teenager continued to cry,for once,he broke down and lost it.Soul knew what his best friend was going through and it injured Soul. This was his best friend,a brother and it made Soul upset to see him break down like this,"Tai...you need to calm down and move on...Kyung and your grandparents wouldn't want to see you like this".Tai began taking deep breaths and wiped his eyes,he nodded towards Soul in silent thanks.Soul smiled in return and released Tai before standing up and looked at Tai,"Are you going to go to lunch?".Tai shrugged,"Later...close the door on your way out please...",he whispered.Soul nodded and left the classroom, closing the door behind him,he walked off.

Tai had opened the window and let the breeze blow,he closed his eyes in content feeling the window blow.It was almost as though his grandparents and his brother were in the room right now.He let a look of relaxation on his face and took a deep breath.

All her anger evaporated in an instant. Inside was someone who was suffering, greatly. She had a very fortunate childhood and, on rare occasions, she was slapped in the face with just how fortunate she really was. She'd often grumble about the propriety of the man she would eventually marry, as he would have to be of the correct bloodlines but she'd never have to face the uncertainty of whether or not her parents loved her more than a dead brother. And her grandparents were all alive and well. Well, her paternal grandparents only spoke on the most formal of occasions.

She waited until Soul had left his friend before moving. She often blamed her impetuous nature on her fire spirit, though that was not always the case. She allowed herself to blame that fire aspect of her nature as a reason for many of the things she did. She moved quickly, opening then closing the door and standing against it so Tai couldn't leave. Just to make sure she set fire to the walls around the windows. She knew he wasn't a Water Walker so he wouldn't be able to put it out. And it wasn't as if she was doing any damage to the walls, it was mostly surface fire and it wasn't really hot.

"You're right you know," She said, breaking the silence. "I am privilaged. It comes with the territory, my family can track its ancestry back over 1300 years. Some claim the blood of the Fae lives in us. I don't know if that's true or not. Of course you were wrong about how to put out the sprite. It would have required a fight with a water sprite. Only like magic can overcome like magic and then it would have been up to how strong the sprite was at the time of the fight. I had assumed your friend would have known that.

"But I was really angry at you. I don't deserve to be spoken to like that. I am above it all, most people here weren't born into the kind of family I was. Not even those who come from Elemental families come with the same kind of responsibilities I come from. I am egotistical, though not without reason and I do think I am better than most people I meet. But I am never rude. You were rude. I am never rude, above it all, callous at even times perhaps, unthinking from time to time but never overtly rude. You stood there and told me how horrible of a person I was and yet there you stood, showing how horrible of a person you can be.

You deserve to have me slap at you for it, to berate you, use my family's influence to ruin you and yours. That would make me what you say I am. You suggest I am a dunce, as if I don't know how this school works. You've insulted me and the only reason why I'm not making your clothes burn is because I am not stupid and while it would only make me as horrible a person as you seemed to say I was. Also, it's a waste of energy to make your clothes burn without actually making them burn. Just because God did it doesn't mean I'm wanting to do it.

You also said that I had no business being in that class, giving a lecture on how water and fire connect, and in the last ten minutes of class. See, the funny thing is is that I had no desire to do that today. See, I am so very good at what I can do that I'd been given a task to do, something that not even the Fire teachers can do. And so, by the time I finished it, there was only ten minutes left of the class, I had thought there was more. But, I suppose that I'm such an idiot and so high and mighty that I thought I could just come in at the tale end of class and prove how amazing I am."

She sneered at him. "I don't need to prove how high and mighty I am Tai, I know my own worth and my value. I know that I come from exalted circles and I know just how lucky I am and how privileged I am. And so, when the board asks me to see if the heating costs can be reduced I sit in a dark, empty classroom for most of the day doing just that. And I came in here to have a go at you. Because you were a jerk, no, worse, you were rude, a cad, you were less than a gentleman and you were pathetic."

She started to warm up to her subject now. "I heard you through the door and I am sorry for your plight, I really am. I have no idea what it must be like to feel as if I'm an unwanted child, less favored than one who was lost. I have no idea what it's like to loose those who know me best. Of course, I would say no one by me knows me best. I don't know your history and you don't know mine but you seem to think you know me well enough to treat me worse than a red headed bastard step-child. And yet you did, all because you feel sorry for yourself. You know, you're an idiot. You have love and, instead of accepting the love of those around you you simply focus on the cold empty of the dead. Love is like a fire. Sometimes it burns hot and bright and dies out too quickly, but sometimes it's a low, burning flame that smolders, sparks sometimes but never dies. And when it comes to family, sometimes we loose the heat of those loves but instead of surrounding yourself with the heat of the love of friends and family, you prefer to sit in the cold ashes of the dead fires of others.

You're not the first one to come here from a family who has no idea what an elemental is, nor will you be the last. You're not the first student who's been rejected by his family because he was different, and thus scary, nor will you be the last. Yeah, something bad happened in your family and that's hard, but instead of seeking help from those who mean you good, you reject them. That's just stupid, but if you want to live your life like that, then fine, but you don't have a right to treat other people like shite just because you're angry at the world."

She glared at him, seeing the anger in him. She didn't care, she was inflamed with the passion of righteous anger. "Have you even so much as called upon the shades to see if they are happy? You can do that, you can call them and return them to their sleep. Heck, you can even call upon the Fire spirits to see if they know how your grandparents were murdered, if they knew who had given them life at that moment. Now then, if you were nice and knew a friendly Fire aspect she might even help you track down the spirit that was called up. They would know if your grandparents were dead before the fire and that might give you peace. And, if you were a bit more friendly to people, they might be able to, oh, I dunno, help you find out who murdered your grandparents. Because Elementals have this ability. Dragons of Wisdom, like that girl with the pink hair- they are really good at that. But you're probably not open to befriending anyone to get peace for yourself and justice for them are you? You'd rather insult people and hold your grief and anger close to your heart, poisoning yourself and those you know with it. Hate is like fire, it will consume everything in its path if its given enough fuel."

She was finished with her rantings but she made no motion to move away from the door. She had no fear of him but she didn't want him just walking out either.

(( uggghhhh guys!!!!! Stop typing so much i cant read that fast!!! ))

Tai didn't say anything and wasn't facing her,"Sorry",was all he said,"Indeed you are right,I shouldn't be so harsh and rash towards you...but everything you did in that classroom...looking superior towards others...as if you're high and mighty.Merely brought memories of the sickos who burned my grandparents alive",he sighed,"The ones who killed them...they were fire elementals, sent to murder the thing that the almighty,'Tai Kaneko' cherished the most. And of course....being the tender and stupid age of fourteen,I was oblivious to it",he scoffed,"They used the one thing I had confidence in back then...love".

He shook his head and his voice had venom dripped with each word,"They sent a beautiful young girl,Juriko Hatsunami...I was head over heels in love and even introduced her to my family.Next thing I know, she knocks me out and brings in her little henchmen to burn my grandparents, tying me to a chair just to watch.I died that day...I lost faith in the World...nothing matters to me anymore",he stated he turned to face her,for once smiling,"You're words,I admit...are very wise and knowledgeable..I suppose I was wrong about you, you're not as foolish or idiotic as it seems",his smile disappeared, like it was a habit,"There is someone helping me...Soul Eu Min,a brother to me honestly, took me into his home when my parents couldn't handle seeing...the face of the son they lost".He looked at her in the eye,"I trust Soul, like he was Kyung...he helps me figure everything out...he was there for me when I felt the World crashing down.Soul is...the only person I have ever trusted as much as I trusted my grandparents or my brother."

He shoved his hands into his pockets,"Perhaps you are right, maybe I should warm up to others",he looked to the ceiling as if,for once,he saw something more important than that before looking back at her,"However,I'm a coward,I'm a fool,I'm a heartless, uncouth gentleman,I'll admit it.I'm antisocial,I'm a lost cause, keep the insults coming.Who will I cry to?My grandmother had Leukemia as she was burned,I admit...I was at ease knowing that she would no longer suffer...but,a part of me only wishes that,I died in their place.I don't communicate with the spirits...because I fear that if I do,I'll hear my grandparents or my brother and can only imagine myself and what I could have done to stop it",his eyes were still empty,"I'm not angry at the World, merely angered with myself".And with that,he simply moved past her,but stopped once he passed her,"Aoihbeann...you remind me of my grandmother,if she saw me right now and how crude I was acting...she would say the same thing",he turned his head to face her and gave a small smile, even if it was smile,it was brilliant, almost like glass shining from the sun hiting it.When he spoke his last words to her,it was filled with sincerity,"I thank you for that...and I apologize for all the crude things I have said to you.Perhaps...you are an intelligent, kind, respectful, courageous girl.Looks like for once,I got my facts wrong",with that he left to the the spirit class, his smile gone

Jessica sighed and picked up her stuff.

"Crystal come on! Spirits Class is next!! And I want to talk to the teacher about these Shades Aoihbeen was talking about. ¡Vamos! ¡Rápido!" She giggled and started dragging Crystal off.

Ohh, this time difference is really annoying. -sigh-

"Okay, okay!!" I picked up my stuff and started to run with Jessica, and again, trying to remember how to get to the spirits class. As I was going there my pocket started to feel warm... I put my hand in and took the piece of paper I had drawn on and crumpled up out. It was on FIRE! I yelped. "Jessica?!" I thought of a water orb in my mind, scrunching my eyes up... The fire was suddenly out. I sighed. "Omg, Jessica!"

I opened the paper. It was all black and sooty, but the drawing I had made was still there, as clear as ever. The pencil lines I had stroked had turned white, so it looked like white gold in mud. I showed it to Jessica.

Fire elementals?

Aoibheann had heard of these clans of elementals who were willing to do whatever for the highest bidder and shiver ran down her back. If it were fire elementals who did this then there would be an easy way to track them down. She would have to, no, this is stuff that was best left for her father, but she could get the ball rolling. She knew what had to be done though. She called on the sprite and gave it her message, knowing it would find her father and tell him. The ancient lines policed their own, often going to war with those who used their powers for evil purpose. Many natural disasters were caused because of these wars. Sometimes they were inevitable, sometimes they were accidental. She thought her father would also be interested in knowing there was an untrained Dragon at the school as well. Fire, water, Spirits, they needed a good Earth Warden and a good Air Dancer if this was going to really work. And, of course, they had a very strong Spirit Talker who had a keen reason for wanting to find out what happened to his family.

Her heart thudding in anticipation she left the room and ran to the library. It, like everything around it, was old. She ignored the tomes of books and instead sought the scrolls. She put on a pair of white gloves before poring through the scrolls until she found the one she wanted. She read through it quickly, taking in the directions. She was right, she and the others at the school could get the ball rolling but it would take the elders of the ancient lines to lead the war against these foul elementals, especially if they were fire.

She rolled the scroll back up but took it with her. There was a way they could find these evil ones. And it was even better that Tai knew of the ones who had come at him. He had a name and a face. She also knew that he was going to be in a Spirit class. She no longer had those classes as they didn't help her. She still had classes that helped her commune with the fire spirits, but that discipline was far different than talking to just any spirit. She ran back through the halls and, breathing hard, stopped just outside the door to the classroom.

She waited a few seconds to get her breath back and so, when she entered the room, she was breathing normally though her eyes were bright in excitement.

Jessica looked with awe

"Crytal your an amazing artist! This is incredable."

"Trust me, I'm not. I was drawing this, but I didn't even know what I was drawing. It was like someone else was controlling me." I sighed. It had been so unusual. "Oh well," I stuffed the drawing back into my pocket. "Let's go to the spirits class now." I saw Soul and David entering a classroom, as well as the others that had sat in the water class. I dragged Jessica into the class, and took my surroundings in. It was just like the water classroom, but there were no water bowls here.

I shrugged, "Everyone else was coming in here.. let's say, common sense?" I giggled along with Jessica. I froze when Aoibheann entered the class. She came again! I smiled. I liked her presence. She used really wise words. And she made me feel.. normal. It was hard to explain. I waved it away, and stared at her, waiting to see what she taught as now.

The room was curiously empty and the ones she had been looking for weren't there although the Dragon and the Spirit Talker were. She recognized Mr. Lowaski, the chair of the Spirit department. He was a generalist, so he often taught the more advanced classes on spirit communication. She wasn't sure which one this class was but she did see a mix of age groups. Unlike more traditional schools, this one didn't put students into a class based on age, but based on prior knowledge, skill level, and understanding. Those who weren't skilled at one exercise were kept in a class until they got the basics. She had been in advanced Fire classes since her first day but she was still in remedial Water classes. Of course no one expected her to do well in those classes. Nor was she very good with talking to the spirits of anything. She usually had to create a fire and find the fire spirit and convince that to go and find someone she needed to talk to. It required a lot of energy and usually wasn't worth the time it took.

But it was a lot easier for her to manipulate air using both her maternal penchant for Air Dancing as well as her paternal link to fire. And when it came to Earth, well, she could burn it but she wasn't going to make anything move. Her grandmother had been an Earth so the fact that she couldn't do anything with it had come as a huge annoyance. Her elder brother could, but then, he had no affinity for air and it refused to move for him unless he directed it with fire. And then, of course, that was always a danger.

She figured that the girls were friends with the boys and that they woud join their table so she moved to them and sat down primly. "Have you two ever heard of the Accounts of the Summoner? Well, we need an Earth elemental to get this to work but I think we can do it but it's not going to be easy but I've already let Father know what I plan on doing. We just need to wait for the others to show up, you know, Soul and Tai." She looked curiously at Cyrstal and the drawing she had out. "That's Ogram script, how'd you know that symbol? No one actually reads it anymore, well, the Fae still use it but no mortals do anymore."

Tai walked in with boredom and Soul smiled seeing him."Ah,Tai",he walked over and the two looked at one another,"You okay?".Tai nodded,"Fine",he stated and Soul gave him a serious look, his voice lowered to a whisper,"I know you and Aoihbeann spoke...are you sure you're okay?".Tai smirked,"A few words were spoken, but I am fine".Soul could easily see through the lie,"You told her about...",he trailed off.Tai nodded,"I told her everything...that I told you when we were fourteen".Soul was a bit surprised but then smiled,"Good for you",he said nodding.Tai looked around,"Where's Jung Hwa?Walking Ai Min to her class as usual?",he smirked.Soul chuckled and a handsome young man walked in,graceful as air."Ah,he comes forth",Soul chuckled."Speak of the devil and he will come",Tai stated as Jung Hwa smiled.

Ahn Jung Hwa,a handsome seventeen year old Senior, who has been known to be quite the Air Elemental. He would be ranked among Soul when it came to how many girls chased after him,but he was already in a long term relationship with a talented earth elemental, whose beauty enchanted everyone who saw her and she was known to be a sweetheart,Park Ai Min.Three Musketeers, they call Tai,Soul, and Jung Hwa.The leader of the pack,Soul Eu Min,the water elemental who was blessed with good looks, intelligence, grace, understanding, able to go with the flow, and known to never lose his temper, his eyes spoke his feelings, from what people have said. Then there was Tai Kaneko, the intelligent yet cold hearted spirit elemental who was indeed attractive, intelligent beyond compare, intimidating, and emotionless, yet had a smile that could make any day brighter. Finally,Ahn Jung Hwa,the free-spirited,cheerful air elemental who had looks, personality, intelligence, grace, cuteness, and could make any atmosphere feel at ease, they say that just being around the young man, makes them feel at ease.Three people who you never think would become friends, but somehow became the closest friends you'll ever meet.

"About time you got here",Tai sighed but gave a quick smile,"Let's sit",but when they turned, either there was a table full of fan girls or just people who got on their nerves at times."Awww",Jung Hwa pouted cutely and then smiled brightly when he saw that Jessica,Crystal, and Aoihbeann had seats open,"Ah,let's sit with them",his voice was like the wind, gentle yet somehow entrancing."Lead the way,Soul",Tai said smirking as Soul laughed. The three made their way over to Jessica,Crystal, and Aoihbeann before taking a seat next to one another.Jung Hwa gave a smile that seemed to show how carefree he was,"Hello everyone",he said,"What do you think we'll learn today?".Tai was back to his book and Jung Hwa gently tapped his shoulder,"Ah,how long will you read that book?",he asked smiling,"You've read it over ten times already".Tai actually chuckled and looked at Jung Hwa,"It's more entertaining than you are".Soul let out a laugh, along with Jung Hwa,as if they already knew that Tai was joking.Tai didn't have to say he was jokingly,if he was speaking to Soul or Jung Hwa,they already knew when he playing around with them.

I smiled as Aoibheann came and sat down at our table. Up close she was stern, but pretty. I shook my head when she asked me if we knew what the 'Accounts of the Summoner' was. I had no idea. I blushed as she looked at my drawing. When she asked me how I knew it, I shrugged.

"I don't know..I mean when I was drawing it, it was as if I wasn't drawing it if you know what I mean... it was like someone else was controlling me and even though I was drawing it, I had no idea what it was." I blushed, "If that makes sense.."

Aoibheann frowned. "Yeah, I think I know what you mean. To be honest, it sounds as if you're contacting the other realm without even realizing it. Remind me I need to teach you how to set up proper shields. Most people don't need to worry about it but some do. I think you might be one who does. And we're all going to need to have some very serious control and shields if we're going to attempt some old magic, hard magic." She broke off as Soul, Tai and a group of other people she didn't really know walked in, saw them and joined their table.

"Good, you made it." She took out the scroll and set it on the table, ignoring Mr. Lowaski's roll call. She was careful to fold the piece of paper with the ogram script on it. "This, however, I want to send him. I don't trust it. Father will be able to get it looked at. If someone is trying to control you then his people will be able to find that out." She then quickly reached into her own bag, pulled out another sheet of paper and wrote down the runes for air, water, earth, and fire. "What I need is for one of you to copy these runes onto this envelope." She then took out another piece of paper, made an envelope out of it and copied the fire runes onto it. "I don't know what these ogram runes mean but either Father or Grandfather will know someone who knows. I need someone who is earth, air and water to copy the others. I don't know the one for Spirit because we don't really do spirits in our family but I don't think that's going to hurt it. I just want to make sure that whatever magic is in there doesn't leak out until it gets to Father." She thought about it for a second. "Or Mother, either way, both families will have the proper contacts. Do you mind Crystal?" She passed the envelope around so that those who were of those elements could add the power of their own elements to the runes.

She then turned to Tai. "I have here Accounts of the Summoner. What it is primarily is an ancient story of a warrior who called upon the shades of the dead and the spirits to help him find justice for someone. I realized that we can get justice for your family if you're willing. There are an unfortunate number of elementals out there who take pleasure in creating evil and spreading discord. The ancient lines fight against them. They must have had a reason for coming after your grandparents but you need to decide if you want to do this. If you want to know why. We can do the basics, do the easy stuff but, if we're going to go at these people, we're going to need help, the kind that means old lines and ancient memories. People like my family."

Her eyes were bright again and she felt a rising in her spirit, much like a fox about to go after its prey. There was a chase afoot and she couldn't wait.

Tai's eyes showed no emotion and his facial features, were just like a rock.Soul and Jung Hwa looked at Tai,who was sitting in between the two, instantly Tai looked at Jung Hwa and Soul, they were having a silent conversation.Occasionally,Jung Hwa would give a carefree smile or Soul's shined with laughter.Tai looked at Aoihbeann,"I...would prefer if you give me time to think",he stated."My Ai Min would love to help if you agree Tai",Jung Hwa said,a loving and ecstatic look on his face when he mentioned Ai Min's name.Tai sighed deeply,"Jung Hwa...we will discuss this at lunch",he looked at Aoihbeann,"I appreciate you trying to help".

I nodded as she told me about shielding yourself. I shuddered at the fact that someone might want to control me. I shook my head, "Of course I don't mind!" I smiled at her. I was relieved that Aoibheann's dad would look into the matter. I stared at the ceiling, sighing. Last week, I was doing my homework on maths and english, and sitting at home bored out of my brains. And here I was, using elemental powers! I had never even imagined it.I felt a jolt of electricity in my mind. It wasn't painful, more like attention seeking.

"I need a pen... Someone get me a pen!" I grabbed the nearest pencil. "Aoibheann I need paper. It's like before... I feel a drawing coming on." I felt the control slowly slip. I sighted a paper on the floor which I quickly picked up. My hand started drawing. This time it was quick and more rushed. Urgent, in a way. I stared at it when my hand stopped drawing. It was an odd shaped symbol. I looked up and stared at Aoibheann queasily.

Aoibeheann gave Tai a look that suggested he was slow but she just shook her head. This is what happens when you try and help the less fortunate, they don't always appreciate one's efforts. Even so, she decided she wasn't going to tell him that she'd already sent a message to her father and that, willing or no, someone would be looking into his grandparents' murder. Someone obviously wanted them dead.

Her attention was diverted as Crystal cried out for some paper. She ripped out a sheet and handed it to the girl who began to draw more symbols. It was another rune. "That's a different symbol, but the same thing. I think these ought to go to my Nan, she'll know best I think. And I really think you need to learn how to shield. It's easy, really but it takes a bit of getting used to." She turned her attention onto Mr. Lowaski who was starting the lecture. "What I need to tell you can wait for lunch. I'll have Tasmeen bring us some lunch in my room. You like chicken parmegiana, right? How many shall I say will be joining me for lunch?"

She took the new rune and folded that and stuck it in the envelope with the first one and put them into her skirt's pocket for safe keeping. "and I'll get these to my Nan. Oh, and I might not be able to help with this but I understand the theory. See you after class, I have to figure out how to get the earth to respond. I have a great-grandmother who was from an Earth family and I have no resonance with it." She got up to leave.

Tai looked at Aoihbeann,"I appreciate you trying to help...but remember what I told you beforehand",he said before going back to his book.Jung Hwa smiled,"Ah,what happened earlier?".Soul chuckled,"You know what happened".Jung Hwa laughed and it sounded like a gentle breeze.Tai looked at them and they just chuckled,he returned to his book.Soul smiled and looked at Aoihbeann,"I hope you have a nice day,Aoihbeann...and I request that you do not speak about what Tai told you",his eyes flashed with pleading and honesty, and like that, his eyes stopped giving any emotion as he began conversing with Jung Hwa,who was talking about Ai Min and how happily in love he is with her and how she is absolutely perfect.Soul just nodded along, paying attention,Tai even stopped reading his book to listen to Jung Hwa,go on and on about Ai Min

She paused in leaving and looked at Soul, her face deadly serious. "I have no idea what you're talking about. What did he say to me?" She then winked but not before walking out of the classroom.

Soul chuckled after Aoihbeann left and continued listening to Jung Hwa."My Ai Min is perfect! She's intelligent, beautiful, kind, sweet, loving, caring, honest, the list goes on.Am I not blessed to have her?Ah,she makes my heart soar even higher than how I can fly!",his eyes shined with excitement and joy as he spoke of Ai Min,"I'm so excited too because-",he was cut off by Tai and Soul."Because your sixth year anniversary is tomorrow",Soul and Tai said, already knowing what he was going to say.Jung Hwa nodded with joy,"I plan on serenading her during our Earth Elemental Class tomorrow and then I'll shower her with gifts galore",he sighed dreamily.Soul laughed,"You know,Ai Min has a huge surprise for you right?",mischief shining in his eyes.Jung Hwa pouted,"Soul!!Tell me what she got for me",he pouted cutely.Soul shook his had and Tai smirked,"Let's just say...it's been something you've been pestering her about for a long time".Jung Hwa just kept pouting cutely and crossed his arms."Mr.Kaneko,Mr.Eu Min,Mr.Ahn,something you would like to share with the class?",the teacher asked.Tai looked at him,"No",he stated bored,"You may continued teaching".The teacher sent a glare to Tai,which he returned but only a million times worse, causing the teacher to shudder before returning to the lecture.Jung Hwa silently chuckled with Soul,as they began paying attention
