I'm having a few concerns with this rp thread. Firstly, I can't seem to follow which class you guys are in. I've figured that you were in a water class and that you've moved on to a spirit class, but you guys aren't making it very clear where you are and what you're doing. Are you all friends, enemies, competitors? How did Soul get to be a tutor? What are the risks involved in talking to the shades of the dead? What other kinds of spirits can you talk to? Do you run the risk of getting in touch with the Fae? Probably, as he Fae are spirits, and can change their nature and trick mortals into doing things.

From what it appeared to me, everyone had their morning classes and were heading to lunch before their afternoon classes. I can tell you that some of the more mature RPers on the board will have trouble trying to follow the lines of conversation trying to figure out what people are doing, where they are and what's happening. They're going to want to know what's the overarching theme? What are the dangers and risks? What I'm trying to say is, give a little more, get people to not only read this story but want to add to it. Let us know who these people are.

Also, Soul, can I ask you why you don't have spaces after your punctuation? It's just driving me crazy is all.

Anyway, as it stands, I've got a fire character who is sitting at a table in the cafeteria asking Crystal (who apparently hasn't shown up to lunch yet) who her family is and what not. I'll rejoin the discussion once the two timelines are meshed properly.

Oh yeah, and England is 5 hours ahead of the East Coast and 8 hours ahead of the West Coast. We're about 5000 miles away from California and about 2000 away from the East Coast. Being from CA but currently in England, I have a very good reason for knowing this. :)

(( Im in Indiana, You wanna talk corn? :D And im still in the water class. IDK where Soul went. ))

Jessica cleared their throught before steping away from David and walking over to Crystal.

"Whats got you so smiley?"

(I'm in the water class,I don't know where Pinky went o.0...)

"Obviously",Soul said smirking,"You and David are getting along better",he let out a laugh,"See,he isn't too bad,Jessica",He then jokingly added,"If you and David don't work out, then I'll gladly ask you out"

Soul laughed and lifted her chin so she was looking at him,"Boy,David is a lucky guy",he smiled before dropping his hand from her chin,"He caught a cute one, wouldn't you say so,Tai?".The quiet spirit demon, glanced at Soul, from his book and shrugged, people have seen him show emotion...but only around Soul it seemed

Soul laughed,"Sorry Jessica,I'll stop now".Tai smirked,"Soul, you should know better than to flirt with girls, especially at how many girls like you",he said quietly,"You're practically giving the girl a death sentence".Soul rubbed the back of his neck, laughing nervously,"Sorry"

Jessica giggled

"Hello again Tai."

David shot a glare of daggers at Soul's back.

Tai gave a nodded of acknowledgement before returning to his book.Soul chuckled,"David is mad at me again...I guess I shouldn't flirt with you,huh Jessica?",he pouted,"But,I must admit...you are very cute when you blush".Tai elbowed Soul in the ribs,"Once again my friend...careful of the fans".Soul chuckled and nodded

Jessica blushed

"Soul you said you would stop!" She pouted.

David sighed and ran his fingers through his hair and looked at the orchid he gave Jessica.

Oooh, we're still in the water class... Soul and Jessica left the class as in just went outside the class... and Jessica's a spirit elemental so she contacted Soul's sister... the water class is still on :pp

(What is this madness?!)

Soul laughed,"I'm sorry Jessica,I'll try and stop",he said rubbing her head.Tai sighed,"Careful Soul,David is wishing your death sentence right now.You shouldn't mess with the person he likes, when David wants something,he usually gets it",he mumbled the last part so Soul could hear it.Soul let out a laugh before nodding and leaned against the desk,Tai sat at

Jessica rolled her eyes

"I heard that Tai. And he only gets it because he throws a tantrum to his daddy and they get him what he wants."

Soul laughed,"You make him sound like a spoil brat".Tai shrugged,"Soul...you and I come from wealthy families and we aren't as spoiled as others".Soul nodded,"You're right Tai,you're just a bit antisocial while I'm just a bit...strange?".Tai chuckled,"I won't lie,I'm antisocial and Soul, you are actually a bit overly talented".Soul just laughed

Aoibheann walked along the halls of the ancient school and ignored the chatter of the others. She was needed to help express the difference between fire and water to one of the junior water classes. She could feel the coolness of the room as the water drew in the heat. Water was a great source of heat though people often didn't seem to realize that.

She opened the door and stepped inside, there was a full class, with several sitting together, flirting. She eyed them but ignored them as she moved to the front of the class. She spoke quietly to the teacher who was going over the attendance. After a brief discussion Aoibheann nodded and stood in the center of the room. No one paid any attention to her at first, which was fine, she preferred to make people pay attention. She'd done this trick more times than she could count. People who were not overly powerful in the water arts didn't usually know how to react when someone was making it boil and steam.

She worked quickly, drawing the molecules in the water, all the water together. There was a large pool of water she ignored and left in peace. The water in the taps too, remained untouched but she focused her energy on the bowls of water between groups of people practicing, whatever they were practicing. It didn't matter and she wasn't here for that.

Within seconds each bowl was boiling, and steam rose and misted the windows and the room was filled with blessed heat. Within more seconds steam filled the room and it was, overly warm. Not a single bowl, tub, basin, pot or pan had water in it. She then had their attention.

"Fire and water, two elements that are at odds with each other. The age old question has always been, what is more powerful, fire or water? Personally, I say fire but the real answer is, the more powerful element is that which is strongest. Fire can consume water, as I have already displayed. If it is hot enough heat can turn water into steam." She focused on a small, wooden bowl out of which the group of underclassmen she had seen flirting as she walked in, were using. It was quite suddenly on fire. "As you can see, fire is easy to create, and something this small is easy to squelch, it would simply take a bit of water." The steam in the room began to coalesce into a cloud and rained onto the burning bowl. "And now I ask you, which is the more powerful element now? In this instance, fire beats bowl but water beats fire. What then, of a forest fire? Water can put it out-eventually, but the question is, how much water must be used. In the summer of 1989 a forest fire broke out in Yellowstone National Park. It consumed a third of the park and it burned all through the summer months. Millions of dollars and thousands of men fought it and hundreds of animals died. Hundred of thousands of cubit feet of water was used to put it out but nothing worked. In the end, the fire finally was doused by snow on September 11, 1989."

Quite suddenly the bowl went up in flames again. "And sometimes, not even water is enough to keep fire at bay." The cloud had yet to stop raining on the bowl and by now it was soaked and the floor was wet with it. "If the fire it hot enough, it will burn through anything, and I mean anything. So why am I telling you this, in a water class instead of in a class about fire? All of you in here can manipulate water. You can feel its energies and you can shape it, form it and alter it. Same as I can do with fire. What many of you don't seem to understand is just how powerful the four primary elements are. I am here to help you with that. I am going to help you learn how to put out a fire."

She smiled politely, a lady to her lessers. "So why have I been asked to help you out? It's only because I come from the House of the Rising Phoenix and we are a family that knows fire. I shall move from group to group, working with you individually to help you see just how hard it can be to manipulate Water's energies."

The steam came down as rain and all the moisture was on the walls, the ceiling, the floor, people's clothes. In slow motion the water dripped down the walls and the ceiling, out of people's clothes, onto the floor, up the tables' legs and back into the bowls and basins where they had originated. Everyone's clothes were dry, the walls were dry and the only water was where it belonged. Aoibheann moved to the group that included a girl with pink hair and eyes that betrayed no element. She recognized the others but only in passing. She thought one was a Dave, the other was Soul, and Jasmine? Jessica? "I'm Aoibheann," she said by way of introduction, "and I'm going to make you keep the bowl of water from burning into ashes." With a smile the bowl once more lit into flames, burning a bright, cherry blue-yellow fire. "So, who's first then?"

Jessica rose her hand

"I'll go." She thought for a moment about Mrs. Gomez and she appeared.

"Hola Senora Gomez. ¿Puedes ayudarme a apagar este fuego?" ( Hello Mrs Gomez. Can you help me put out this water? )

"De niña curso." ( Of course girl ) The spirt moved the water and splashed the fire out. Jessica giggled

"Yay! Gracias señora Gómez!" ( Yay! Thanks Mrs. Gomez )

I stared at the young woman in awe as she used her amazing power to make all the water evaporate, condensate, and then run back to the bowls. I sighed. She was amazing. And pretty. I sat there awkwardly when her eyes brushed over me. Even her name was pretty. 'Aoibheann'.

I smiled as Jessica put the water out effortlessly.

Jessica smiled at Crystal

"Did you see that?! Oh so cool!" She saw something hanging from her pocket

"Hey whats that?" She asked pointing to it.

Aoibheann simply smiled and the flame returned. "You must be a Spirit Talker then, do you really believe that the Shades of the dead appreciate being used in so callous a fashion? Have you not properly been taught that the Fae can take the form of the dead? Has no one ever told you to be careful in asking the shades of the dead for help, for it could be the Fae and the Fae will always ask a price for their assistance."

She spoke softly, whispering in the ancient language of her ancestors, whispering in the tongue of the Tuatha Dé Dannan. The fire on the bowl grew brighter, glowing golden red as it rose higher and higher. The room became blinding from the heat and glare that came from the bowl. The bowl itself became no more and the table beneath it caught on fire. The white heat of the new flame engulfed everything, though moving not so much as an inch from the table itself. She whispered again and soon the spirit of Señora Gomez reappeared. This time she was not an old, matronly woman who had seen the last passages of youth, she danced and, in her fiery dance she became something immortal. The fire from the table was gone as the dancing being was the fire. Aoibheann continued to whisper, to speak in the language of the ancients, speaking, instruction, pleading with the spritis. Finally the spirit stopped dancing. There was a reason why her family didn't speak to the spirits, they were- difficult on the easiest days. She left taking the fire with her. The bowl was ashes and the table was badly burned but the shade of the woman Gomez remained.

She favored Jessica with a solemn and stern look. "I can't speak to to the Shades of the Dead as can a Spirit Talker like yourself, I can only get the attention of the Fire Spirits and hope they are willing to assist me, the spirits are flightly but she agreed to bring back your Señora Gomez." She turned to the shade and spoke once more in the ancient language, binding her, under the powers of fire that had brought her thus to speak the truth. "Señora, soy Fuego y el espirito de fuego llevóte aqui. Porfavore, diga a este chica la problema con llamar con lose muetors, y el poder de los Tuatha Dé Dannan. Si o non Señora, son ellos peligrosos?"

The shade of the dead bowed. "Es verdad, tenga cuidado cuando pregunta los muertos, los Fae no concozen la diferencia entre poder y poder. Preguntalos para ayudir con agua y fuego y requieuren to sangre. Mira chica, mi bonita, tenga cuidado."

Aoibheann waved her hand and the shade was gone. "Shades cannot lie, the dead can only speak the truth. You are not a Water Walker but a Spirit Talker. It is not up to you to learn how to combat the other elements, yours job is to better understand the spirits, to be a go-between our two worlds, to bring peace to the Shades that have not yet moved on and help them do so. It is not to ask the Shades of the Dead to put out a fire." There was slight disgust in her voice. More for the people who didn't properly teach what a Spirit Talker was for. It had to do, she believed, with the more modern terms for things. No one remembered the ancient ways, no one but the ancient families. "You," she indicated her head at Soul, "I hear your family's an old Water family, surely you would be the one best to show how fire and water can mix and mingle. I would think you'd also caution your girlfriend not to use the spirits so casually." There was a reason why her family distrusted the Spirit Talkers. Why has no one bothered to teach these underclassmen their responsibilities? Was that only a part of the Ancient Family Lines? Were they the only ones who knew and remembered?

She looked at the girl with pink hair and the mysterious eyes. "And you're a Dragon, what've you been taught? Do you understand any of this?"

-Madam, I am Fire and the Fire Spirit brought you here. Please tell this girl the problem with speaking to the dead and the power of the Tuatha Dé Dannan. Yes or no Madam, are they dangerous?

-It is true, be careful when you ask of the dead, the Fae do not know the difference between power and ability. Ask them to help with water and fire and they might ask for blood. Listen, dear, my darling, be careful.

Soul looked confused,"Girlfriend?",he questioned confused and looked at Jessica and then back at the girl in front of the class,"Jessica isn't my girlfriend",he said very confused. How did he even get into this.Tai scoffed and went back to his book,he had already learned this when he studied abroad during the Summer. Then again, that was Tai.Blunt, cold, mean, serious, studious, and showed no care in hurting people's feelings. He seemed to only hang out with Soul and show only emotions towards him.Anyone else,he would simply ignore them and pay no mind to them.Soul shot Tai a disapproving look, but in return,Tai merely shrugged his shoulders,he could care less and was much more engrossed in his books.

No one knew why Tai was so cold,he was perfectly fine during his Freshman year.Popular, friendly, cheerful, sweet, smart, helpful, but when he came back during his Sophomore Year,he was practically emotionless,he didn't even crack a smile around anyone else but Soul. The only person who knew why Tai had a sudden change was Soul, who wouldn't even speak about why Tai changed so suddenly.

Soul smiled at Aoibheann,"You are right though, fire and water can mix together.A balance is needed, one cannot be so preoccupied with fire, trying to heat the water.Nor can they be so preoccupied with trying to control water.I apologize though,I should pay more attention next time".The teacher sighed,"Aoibheann, ease down on Soul.He is my best student",she sighed,"He and Tai are already ahead of the class by two years,so they don't need that much teaching. The others...could use more help",the teacher chose her words carefully.
