Alright. Lets get started then. The majority of the action will take place on the ship, so your character will want to end up on it somehow. We're going to start off with my character looking for people to join her crew, so you can be someone who wants to join the crew. But, if you have another idea, just run it past me really quick, I'd love to hear it. Chances are I'll love it and want you to do it.

Personality: Smug, arrogant, prideful


Backstory: ever since he turned 17 he has been doing pirate work. His father was an infamous pirate, until the day the government caught him and hung him. Ever since that day Daygo has hated the government. For about 9/10 years he has been working as a pirate on a ship that has about 40 people. They attacked countless ships, government and other pirates. They were brutal, they would kill all the crew, steal all the goods, then burn the ship. One day they attacked a massive government ship. Little did they know, they were outnumbered 40 to 200. Daygo's whole crew died, and he narrowly escaped. Its been about a week since then, and he has been just sitting in bars, starting fights, and gambling.


Skills: he is an excellent melee fighter with his sword, he is also a great shot with his pistol.

Name: Daniel "Danny" Thornfield

Appearance (picture or worded description): He's a boy with dirty blonde hair and brown eyes. He's pretty thin and still pretty short since he's going through puberty. He's a pretty ragged looking fellow who's almost perpetually dirty. His nails are short because he bits them and his nose is a bit crooked from when he accidentally slammed his face into a door at the age of eight. He wears brown trousers, a cotton shirt and an apron. His shoes are old and too small for him and his socks have holes.


Personality (completely optional, as we'll see it in motion soon enough): Danny is pretty pacifist compared to the other pirates but he can hold his own in a fight. Not a sword fight or anything but if he needed too, he'd fins a way to survive. In fact, that is what Danny would define himself as, a survivor. He's deathly afraid of the other pirates but still tries to impress them and show them that he's growing up. He gets the job done and is fiercely loyal. Think Sam from LOTR but a little boy on a pirate ship.


Backstory (also optional, but I recommend you at least come up with one in your head):His father was a pirate and his mother was some woman the pirates picked up. He doesn't really know much about his parents. As far as Danny's concerned, the pirates are his family and the ship is his home. He was raised by the crew and lived his entire life on the ship.
 
Name: Florence Nightingale


Age: Twenty-three


Sexuality: Pansexual


Gender: Female


Appearance (picture or worded description): A petite woman in her twenties. She's lanky, but is rather toned from years of manual labor. She possesses scarlet-colored hair and green eyes, along with a multitude of freckles along the entire length of her body.


Personality (completely optional, as we'll see it in motion soon enough): She's incredibly friendly and sweet towards people that she knows, but when she's forced into unfamiliar or uncomfortable situations, she's very tense and clipped in tone. She has a particular sweet spot for children, no matter who they are.


Backstory (also optional, but I recommend you at least come up with one in your head): She grew up on a floating island, surrounded by friends and family. Her father was a fighter and she spent many years assisting him in working as his apprentice. Her mother was an electrician and taught her everything she knew. She juggled these two occupations to the best of her ability and would even break away from her parents in order to work a couple of odd jobs here and there - both in fighting and fixing. When Florence turned eighteen, she ran away in the middle of the night to seek adventure. She moved to bigger and better places, enlisting herself in as much adventure as she could.

Okay, I realize I probably should have made this clearer. Nobody is actually on the ship yet other than me. I am going to be starting the roleplay by landing on an island looking for a crew. Sorry for any inconvenience.
 
Oh, alright. Well, I could do the same thing, right? Maybe the ship does have some difficulties and Florence volunteers to help?
 
Yeah, you definitely could. My plan was to walk into a bar, stand on a chair or something and just ask the whole bar if anyone wanted to go on an adventure.

Personality : Alex is daring yet intelligent, brave yet cautious, and suspicious yet friendly. She can be over the top sometimes, not to mention her habit of getting very very angry. She likes to act like she is tough and strong, although she usually feels helpless and weak.


Backstory: Her parents left her at a small orphanage just weeks after her birth. At the age of nine she ran away, just from the sheer boredom of the place. She lived on the streets until she was fifteen , stealing food, wallets, small ships, sometimes getting real jobs at bars or restaurants, until she was injured in a small explosion on one of her stolen ships. She woke up a few weeks later in a hospital with an ache in her body everywhere but her right arm, which she could feel nothing in, as it had been so badly wounded they had to amputate it. She was able to commission a robotic prosthetic, one that looked almost exactly like a real one, the facade ruined by a small maintenance hatch on her wrist, which she was able to cover with a glove. She stayed with a very nice host family for another two years, until the now seventeen year old left to return to a life of adventure. A few years down the road, a nineteen year old Alex came across quite a bit of money which she used to buy The Sparrow, which she regarded as the most beautiful ship she had ever said. Upon buying the ship, she resolved to become an infamous pirate captain. And so, she traveled to a port to find a crew for her beloved Sparrow.

Ah, we have one other member, but she is in university, so she is busy. She says she will be able to post by monday night, and it seems a bit unfair to start before everyone is ready. Not to mention, we might get a few more people.
 
Alright! Well, I suppose we'll be talking to one another on Monday, then.
 
I'm interested and so will toss my hat in the ring. I'm not sure what (if any) rules set you're using but this has me intrigued.


Name: Wilson Carter


Age: 33


Sexuality: Heterosexual


Gender: Male


Appearance: Dark brown hair (except in direct sunlight it appears nearly black), hard grey eyes. He has a scar running from hairline to jawline on the left side of his face. Very tall and lanky (about 6 foot and only about 200 lbs), and almost always in black oilskin duster and flat brimmed hat. He carries a pistol and dagger on his belt. The dagger seems more a tool than weapon but the pistol holster and grips show signs of frequent use and good care.


Personality: Guarded and pessimistic


Backstory: Wilson grew up learning the fine art of navigating among the sky islands. His father was captain with a large shipping company and Wilson grew up sailing the skies of the new world. A hostile business takeover stranded his father on a small island and bankrupted the family. Wilson is a licensed navigator with fine ship-handling skills who now seeks his revenge on those who robbed his father of his livelihood and retirement.
 
Interesting idea, so count me in.


Name: Xavier S. Jacrezz


Age: 22


Sexuality: Bi


Gender: Male


Appearance: Xavier is just under 6 feet and has a lean build that's slightly more feminine than most, but well toned for quick movement like fighting. Has light brown hair and almost matching brown eyes, and somehow has saved his face from any scars. Doesn't wear anything really flashy, mostly loose fitting cargo pants and plain long sleeved shirts with black boots. Carries a small dagger in a sheath in one boot, and has a katana type of sword on his hip. His back is scarred very badly and he has a black tattoo of an elaborate T between his shoulder blades, but he hides it all the time.


Personality: For the most part Xavier is laid back and somewhat friendly, easily taking jokes in stride and flirting with anyone just to try and make them smile. Doesn't get close to anyone though, and loses his up beat attitude if people push him. Anger isn't an emotion he likes to wear often, but he will get dangerously so if the people he trusts are hurt of if they betray his trust.


Backstory: Xavier was born in an extremly poor area and basically raised himself on the streets after both parents died of disease. He stole from street venders and picked pockets to get by. At 8 he joined a crew of older teenage boys, helping them pull bigger robberies and scams on the small island's rich and wealthy. He lived like that for several years until the group was caught and publicly tried by the local leaders. 6 of the oldest boys were hung in town square the day of, 3 more the next day, and Xavier --11 at the time-- was whipped and branded as a theif. As soon as he healed enough he caught the next ship off the island and got as far away as he could, aimlessly hopping from island to island.

I know people are biting at the bit to get going though, so I have no issue introducing my character later if people wanna get going :)


I'm good at introductions so I can just slip my character in when I finished on Monday :)

Oh wow, I went to bed and then saw all these new post. :) I can make a new history for Danny:


History: Danny was born to a young woman and her husband with a drinking problem. They own the bar that is spoken of in the story. Danny works in the back as a dish boy and generally runs around trying to keep his other siblings in line. His mother is worried about her husband's abusive behavior towards her children so she plans to send Danny off with the crew to seek a fortune and come home wealthy in a few years. But she has to give up Danny first.


That probably fixes his history if that's okay. :)
