It begins in feudal Japan, with six people; Three divine, three human. Their paths intersect when they arrive at a shrine in the forests of Japan, each searching for something different. When they meet, they come to find that they can all help each other towards their goals. And so begins a strange alliance between gods and humans, creatures coming together for their work.

hey there, it's me again with another thread idea! so i'm open to doing this with five others or two others each doubling up roles. the story is less about plot and more about the characters, so i've left the initial plotline pretty vague. click on for the character roles!

DEITIES
The kitsune (reserved) - A mischievous fox creature, wise and cunning. They live in the forests near the palace, tricking humans who come their way.

The forest spirit (reserved) - A being there to protect the forest and nearby shrine. They're wary of humans, and spend most of their time in isolation.

The banished (reserved) - A god who's been banished from the heavens for their behavior, and cursed to live on earth. Regardless of what they did to get into their situation, they aren't happy about it.

MORTALS
The royal (taken) - A royal who's grown tired of their time in the palace. They've run away from their life as royalty, going to the shrine in the nearby forest for protection.

The servant - The servant to the royal, who's run away to be by their side.

The merchant - A young traveling merchant who's stopped in the forest to pray to the patron of their shrine.
