"Growf!"
This RP takes place in Autumn of the year 1600 in feudal Japan. The initial setting is on the southern shore of Nagashima Island. It is inspired by the 1980 TV mini series Shogun, as well as the story of the Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. Instead of a Portuguese trader being blown ashore, a yacht from the 21st century will be blown ashore.
Aboard the yacht was the owner, a young man with a boyish face, named Xavier Thomas. To the feudal Japanese his name will be translated as Zabieru - the name of a Jesuit priest half a century ago who became a patron saint. The saint’s name was adopted as a surname.

Xavier Thomas
Xavier is no warrior, not even close. He IS fast, but he has never even held a weapon before. (I don’t think a squirt gun counts.) His hands lack calluses from any sort of work. He wears sunglasses. His eyes are sensitive to bright light. The name of the RP stems from the fact that he grew up in Las Vegas.
Your Character
I am looking for someone to roleplay a female lead. The character MUST have a noble standing sufficient to warrant her presence in a Japanese court or in the presence of a Shogun. And she should be important enough not to be easily disposable.
Plot
Xavier’s yacht will be unlike anything the turn of the 17th century Japanese have ever seen before. It is very well beached. Fortunately the design is such that it can be slid with less effort than a regular yacht would require. Still … 85 tons is a LOT. Xavier will be taken captive and the wreckage placed under guard.
I am still undecided as to whether Xavier will arrive alone or with a crew. This is IMPORTANT as it will affect how Xavier is treated. The Japanese’ initial reaction would be hostility. They have never liked outsiders. But they have learned that the rest of the world has developed weapons and naval technology they are no match for.
They will also believe his yacht is ALIVE. When they approach, lights come on, turning off when they back off.
This is tagged as a Romance, so that should be a part of the plot.

In this era superstition and a strong belief in magic still persists. That said, I intend to employ primitive magic - holistic medicine, spiritualism, eastern beliefs. The Japanese will believe that Xavier commands such powers. That said, they will tread a little more carefully. The culture will have a slightly more anime feel to it. But this must be tempered by the strong presence of the Spanish and Jesuits.
