time: 9pm.
where: orient hotel.
weather: cloudy with a soft breeze
date: october 31, 2018.
the orient hotel was known for not participating in exterior halloween decorations, while the busy town square was filled with paper bats, carved pumpkins and streamers, the grand hotel kept it's elegance throughout the spooky season. however, once the clock rings at nine o'clock, a man with unknown supernatural origins stands in front of a secret entrance of hotel only revealed to those who brought their invitations. if you're lucky to enter (or sneak) inside, you can expect endless amount of sugary and sour treats to suit everyone's needs and the killer queens performing live. over on the right hand corner can be spotted a lavish bar being tended by only the best, and the possibly the most responsible downworled - cedric schroder - who can whip up any drink if asked nicely, of course.

so what are you waiting for? drink, eat, dance and explore, but don't go wandering through the hotel, you never know what you'll find.

Michael didn't necessarily like the trinity, but he wasn't going to turn down an invitation to free food and drink. Besides that, there was proof of handsome men in provocative costumes tonight, which he had the pleasure of admiring—if not fleetingly. Michael spotted a few eye-catching ones en route to the hotel with Gemini; he needed some reminding to keep his attention on the road.

Michael gently steered his vehicle into a parking space then stopped the ignition, interrupting the upbeat song they'd been carelessly singing and nodding their heads to. "We've arrived, princess," he said with a smile. He preened himself in the rear-view mirror. "I don't think I'll make a habit out of gelling my hair, but why haven't I worn this leather jacket before? I look nice!" Michael glanced at Gemini and playfully added, "Oh, and you do too, I guess. Let's get going, shall we?"

Once they made sure they had their invitation cards ready, the two childhood friends linked arms as they traversed through the busy streets of London to the secret entrance of the Orient Hotel. The hulking bouncer stepped aside for the fae. He grunted, "Enjoy the party." Michael nodded his thanks and crossed the threshold with Gemini beside him. He looked around.

"Hm...the trinity really outdid themselves."

He was warm. That was the first thought that came to him as he automatically took stock of his surroundings without opening his eyes. He recognized the scent of his room easily and almost started to purr - he hated that Reina labeled it that - at the familiar and always comforting scent of the woman he called his mate. He wanted to grin lazily but as he detected the stressed note in her scent he frowned, shifting silently so that he could watch her.

Caleb's eyes opened to slits as he watched Reina stand in front of their bedroom mirror. The back of her dress was unzipped, allowing him to see the smooth skin of her back as she fretted, an intense look in her eye. He didn't like the look in her eyes, wanting her to only be happy, but first he had to figure out what was upsetting her. If he could remember what day it was then maybe that could help...

He sighed, a breathy huff, holding back a groan, not wanting to startle his soulmate. Of course. That stupid event was tonight, of course she was worried. While she looked put together, he could easily tell that she was stressed. He pushed himself up off their bed, the slight wrinkling of the sheets the only noise he made as he slid across the floor until he was right behind her. Tucking his head into her neck, he took a deep breath, enjoying her scent before placing a kiss on her neck in an effort to calm her down as he gently moved her hands out of his way so he could quickly slide the zip of her dress up.

"You look stunning," he mumbled, his voice rough from sleep. "Stop worrying. I'll be with you the whole time, and so will my mother, and Viola will probably be nearby. Everything will be fine." he reassured her, resting his head on her shoulder as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

it wasn't the idea of being in front of so many people that bothered reina. it wasn't that in the slightest.

she'd been one of the poster children for the solis family most of her life, as the child who wasn't a fire starter, the one who preferred to be rational and reasonable in comparison to many, if not most, of the siblings that had come before her. she knew how to talk the talk, to walk the walk. she rather enjoyed being able to talk with others and bring a positive light to the solis name like her younger siblings seemed to do as well. she wanted them to see there was nothing to fear. but there was something that had her feeling off, and although she couldn't say it out loud, she knew exactly what she herself was fearing.

if she had to see one of those older siblings she was so much different than, she was afraid how the confrontation might go.

that feeling seemed to pause in her mind as she felt the air around her get a bit warmer until her soulmate buried his head in her neck, and with that, she let out a soft sigh of relief, a breath she hadn't been aware she was holding. she'd heard him stir earlier but as per usual, reina liked to let him snooze for as long as he possibly could. she knew he didn't enjoy being out and performing his role as head of house as much as he enjoyed sleeping and staying in, so she was thankful he even decided to go. so she was only a little surprised he was up already, but she knew he could probably detect her anxiety flaring up from a mile away, let alone a few feet from her.

just caleb's presence had a way of calming her; she knew if he hadn't been in the room she would have been an even bigger mess, and him here now, helping to zip up her dress as he pressed his lips to her neck with a soft voice, still a little raspy from his rest, filled her with a sense of stillness and brought her to the present. she hummed softly as she enjoyed his touch, finishing the braid in her hair and wrapping it around her head, pinning it with a bobby pin before finally relaxing in his arms as they wrapped around her. she leaned back, listening to his words.

of course, he was right. it was going to be just fine. and yet, even with his words, she could feel the fear bubbling up under the mask of a smile she carefully dressed her face with. this fear felt a bit different than before and she tried to pinpoint it before she responded to caleb. when it hit her that the fear she felt wasn't of her siblings, she stared into the mirror, her eyes widening a bit.

the fear she felt was for her siblings. what if they tried something and they were torn down for their bloodthirsty behavior? what would her mother think of that?

she'd never felt quite like this before.

reina tried to focus back into the moment once more, blinking a few times at her reflection before a soft voice left her lips.

"easier said than done, beloved. but just hearing you say that..." reina turned her head to press a kiss to caleb's cheek, and folded one of her arms over caleb's, once again enjoying how warm he was, "makes me feel so much better. how do you do that?" she brought her other hand up into his hair, gently massaging his scalp. she felt safe in his arms, but she knew how violent he could be if pushed. she just hoped no one would test his limits.

Apollo didn't want to go as any other hot firefighter. He wanted to be the hottest, his sister was going as her plain self in her normal clothing. She wasn't much on parties like he was, all she really wanted was something to drink and to watch over him. She never gets as what the mundanes call as drunk, Artemis was always the responsible one while he was the fun one. Apollo finished his outfit, adding some oil to his abs to make them really shine. He called out to his sister. "Art, I'm ready. Let's head out!" His sister was in the living room of their shared apartment and shouted back saying ok. He made his way to the door with his sister followed. Heading to their respective motorcycles as they both drive one, he started is and headed out with his sister following close behind. They got to the party after about 5 minutes. He walked in followed by his sister. Artemis went straight to the bar, leaving Apollo alone but he knew that she would be watching him.

Artemis was the overprotective sibling of the two. Apollo could be just as overprotective but he reels it in, his sister does not at all. Makes it kinda difficult to have actually try to have friends or any kind of romantic partner. Apollo looked around seeing a certain fae who worked the bar that he has been spying on for quite some time. He smirked heading towards him, and politely nodded to the young lady as he focused his attention on the male. "I don't believe we've to meet properly aside from me asking for a beer. I'm Apollo." He winked towards him. "I was wondering if you mind accompany me to grab a drink? Maybe chat a little. I've been dying to get to know you...more in-depth. Plus I would like to stop calling you that cute bartender and instead by your name..although I might still call you that in my mind." He winks at him but then turned to the young lady

"That if you don't mind me stealing him?

Aurelia stood at the front steps of the Orient Hotel in her black coat which hid a costume underneath. She was debating whether she would actually go with her decision and keep going in or actually stick with her family's point of view and not mix herself with other species like herself and many more. Her mother was already on her back about trying to maintain a normal life as is. However, her family was not normal and as much as Aurelia loved keeping a low profile, she wanted to satisfy her curiosity about how the other supernatural beings interacted so on so forth. She wanted to see how she would interact with species of her own kind, even.

Curiosity won over normality for the night. With a soft sigh, the female motioned up the steps, her white ballet shoes clicking softly against the concrete before entering into a breath-taking lobby. It was stunning. Never had she seen such fine interior design. Not that it peeked her interest. The only design she got accustomed to where rocky sea beds and coral reefs. Taking a glance in awe, a female approached her, "May I take your coat, madame?"

Aurelia was taken out from her gaze fest by the female's voice and gave her a nodding smile, "Oh.... yes! My coat... Yes please." She handed over her black coat after unbuttoning it. Now Aurelia stood in her costume which was one of the protagonists in her favourite ballet, Swan Lake: The White Swan. A nice white leotard with silver-like glitter around her upper chest area and joining down in the middle. A matching sheer skirt fluffed up matching that of a tutu. Her long slender legs were coated with nice thin white tights. Finishing her look with some simple natural make-up look with rosy pink lipstick on her plush lips. Her long wavy light brown hair was perfectly held back into a near lower bun on the left side of her head, designed by a white feathered head dress.

Now that she had actually stepped inside and the female ran off with her coat, she felt like there was no going back. Might as well enjoy the rest of the night. Who knew? Perhaps make some new friends. Even though, it wouldn't be the greatest news to her parents. She was an adult and she could handle her own self now, she wanted to try something new and this was simply it.

The fae started scanning for possible entrances that are the least expected for the normal eye while she toyed with the invitation in her hand, moving along the lobby till she came across the secret passageway entrance that landed her in front of a bouncer. Aurelia showed the invitation to which he granted her access to. Loud, audible music could be heard further in. Well, there is definitely no going back now. The white swan walked in every so confidently, following the sound of the killers music to the main area. Oh it was definitely a Halloween party alright. She noticed the performers, the bar and the few attendees in costumes that they have come up with. Aurelia was not new to parties but with the supernatural it was definitely a first.

Going with her first instinct, the female needed some sort of drink in her system, starting off slowly. She was not that much of a drinker due to her active life style but one or two social drinks wouldn't hurt. Motioning towards the lavish bar where the bartender seemed to be professionally tending. Raising her hand she caught the bartender's eye, "Two shots of bourbon whiskey, please."

Aurelia's exterior was quite confident as how she was feeling however, her curious eyes were lurking around, examining the room. It was clear that she had never attended to something like this.

Artemis wasn't much for parties or any type of social interaction. The only reason she was going to this Halloween party was to make sure that her brother doesn't go out of control. She wasn't even dressing up for it. She was going in her normal clothes, and that was that. Apollo was going as a sexy firefighter which makes her even warier as her brother is not doubted about it was a fine person to look at. So girls and boys are going to be after her baby twin brother and which she will have to fight off to her brother's dismay. She doesn't mean to be a killjoy but it just so happens that she is over fucking protective and she hates her brother heart getting broken. She heard her brother called out

"Art, I'm ready. Let's head out!"

She yelled back "Ok!" She followed her brother out the door, and to their motorcycles. After some incidents in the past, they decided maybe cars weren't cut out for them and needed something that was a bit more fun to ride. So they decided to get motorcycles. Apollo headed out first and she followed. After about 5 minutes of riding, she and her brother was walking into the hotel. Artemis headed straight to the bar, knowing her brother would go straight to socializing without glancing at her. She kept her eyes on him though, even when he went after that fae boy that had caught his attention over the last couple of months. Artemis didn't always approve of her brother's love interest but this one she had no opinion on yet and until she did, she would watch from afar.

"A beer please. " She says to the bartender as she watches the interaction between the boy fae and her brother.

"michael, keep your eyes on the road!"

as much as she loved her childhood friend, michael, she never trusted him when it came to driving. she wasn't even sure if he had a license and even if she drove -- which would've been painfully slow knowing from past experiences -- it would've been quicker if the other half of the duo drove instead. the young fae felt her heart race as they turned around a corner and parked nearby the orient hotel. gemini was grateful for the car trip ending and that they both made it out alive.

a grin formed on gemini's lips as she watched michael admire his reflection in the rear view mirror. "you look like natalia's second hand, but it suits you." she pointed out with a soft snicker following after her compliment. gemini opened the door and tried her best to carefully slide out without toppling over, her heels touching the ground as her knees felt like jelly. she rarely had the need to wear heels but her friends insisted that she go big or go home. with her plastic, golden tiara neatly tucked into her hair, gemini happily followed michael while using him as support to walk in heels.

her bright eyes were shining with awe at the sight of the hotel lobby once the two had passed security. gemini managed to hear michael's voice over the sound of the live band playing at the other side of the room. as she looked around, gemini noticed cedric tending the bar with a grim look upon his face. "i can't believe they got cedric involved, i thought he hated this place." gemini mused back at her friend. her senses were overwhelmed by everything happening all at once; the smell of candy apples and different liquors stung at her nose while the chatter of different species, all dressed up in different costumes, echoed like a symphony.

suddenly, gemini heard another voice introducing himself. gemini watched curiously as the voice -- who had introduced himself as apollo -- wink towards michael. gemini fluttered her eyelashes out of confusion when apollo asked for her permission. "you two have fun, i'll be floating around." the fae nodded reassuring as she watched her friend being whisked away.

the realisation of being alone quickly kicked in as gemini glanced around the party, her fingers fiddled with each other nervously as she chewed on her lower lip. with a sneaky glance, gemini swiftly slipped the painful heels off her petite feet and shoved them behind a pot plant, she'll let someone else keep them. with relief crashing over, gemini grinned and started to explore.

Where'd I put my hat? I thought it was right on my bed?
Andrew caught his reflection in the mirror while he searched and cursed at himself. He was already wearing the hat.
And... Aha!
With keys in hand, he locked up his little home and stepped into the cool, night air. It was refreshing, that crisp October breeze. He loved fall; loved things about it he wouldn't see or feel underwater.

Then Halloween, a mundane's tradition he knew not the origins of, but loved anyway. Andrew knew supernatural beings like him weren't thought to exist in a mundane's mind, but this day in particular felt like a homage to all things supernatural. And in that way, he felt special. Proud.

Andrew slid into his car and began driving toward the Orient Hotel. Then he arrived. He came to see friends, have fun, and dance to his heart's content for the night. But as soon as he was let in by the bouncer, he was captivated. Not by the decor, not by the live music nor the people in costumes, but by hunger.

In all the excitement of attending this party, he hadn't had the time to cook a proper meal for himself. Finger foods—in which the medleys of ingredients confused and tempted him—were being carried on silvery trays by caterers in masks, and it was hard enough tracking them to grab one of those delightful mini tarts.

After successfully swiping one of the hors d'oeuvres, Andrew spotted someone he recognized from across the room: Gemini. She looked stunning. He swallowed the bite-sized morsel, crossed the distance between them, then greeted her with the warmth of his brown eyes. A smile made them glint.

"Hey! You made it! You look great, ah—" Andrew glanced at the tiara adorning her head, "Princess Gemini?"

cedric wasn't sure how he ended up working, but he wasn't happy about it.

the old werewolf wasn't planning to do much during halloween. usually he would stay home watching whatever was on tv and handing out cheap candy to children dressed up as ghouls and creeps. however, his plans were ruined once the head of the vampires, followed by her questionable second, sauntered in with the intentions of cedric being a barman at her lavish party.

as the minutes slowly dragged by, cedric swiftly kept the liquors, blood and alcohol pouring at a comfortable rate. he kept a stern eye on the guests, watching them drink themselves silly and having -- what appeared to be -- a good time. maybe if life wasn't so cruel to cedric, he would've been in the crowd enjoying the party as well, but that wasn't how life worked. the male kept his hands busy as he began polishing the recently cleaned glasses. working besides him was a young demon dressed up some hip hop celebrity, or was it a popstar? cedric couldn't care less, he was doing a worse job than his actual partner, michael.

cedric sighed as he scrubbed at the glass' surface, angrily trying to remove the lipstick stain that was left behind. he was pulled away from his thoughts when he heard a female's voice ask for bourbon. the barman rose an eyebrow, noticing how young she looked, but then again, she could've been a vampire for all he knew.

"can i see your id, miss?" cedric asked, pulling out a glass as he spoke.

with a shrug and a quick glance at the card, cedric swiftly poured the alcohol into the glass and handed it towards her, giving her a comforting smile, "rough night, huh?"

but before he could hear the female's response, cedric turned away to notice a teenage ordering a beer. he release a soft scoff as he asked for the id once more, shrugging as he picked up the glass he was cleaning beforehand, "can't serve you if you're under twenty one, sorry."

Glenn Attwood
"Do I look like a troublemaker to you?"

location: the orient hotel(bar)

mood: intrigued

outfit: glenn as a cowboy

with: aurelia, cedric, & artemis

"Yeah... Uh huh. I'll be there in a bit. Fifteen minutes, give or take."
Glenn was on his phone, talking to a friend of his, another witch—or rather "warlock"—who was thrilled about the Halloween party taking place at the Orient Hotel tonight.
"Oh, and Jayce? Tell your sister I said 'hi'." Glenn listened to his friend's response with a brash smile on his face and laughed. "Uh huh. Fuck you too, buddy. See ya there." He ended the call, put his boots on and left his comfortable home to drive his prized Cadillac.

Every supernatural being had been invited and urged to attend this party; it was going to be a huge turnout. Having overheard details from the political heads, Glenn was aware this event was meant to show sign of good will, unity and acceptance between the trinity and the downworlders. To him, the idea was an absolute joke. A mockery of itself. There was always going to be some degree of intolerance, no matter how many truces or promises were made.

The history of supernatural beings was as bloody, conniving, and vindictive as the mundanes'. Glenn himself is a member of the Sorcière Impie house, but that didn't mean he was blind to the truth. Oh well. Glenn had nothing better to do tonight.

Thanks to a navigation system, there wasn't a problem finding the hotel and a parking spot near it. However, the secret entrance was a different story. On foot, he ended up following what appeared to be a pair of merfolk—one of them was dressed as a firefighter. After they were let in with the same invitation card he received, Glenn furnished his own to the big incubus guarding the door. He recognized him.

"Oh, hey, Jeremy. The Mort-Vivant house got you on another job?"
He nodded. "Yep. It pays well."
"I'm sure it does."
The incubus stepped aside for him. "Enjoy the party, Glenn. Don't do anything I wouldn't do."
Glenn smiled.
"No promises." He walked in before Jeremy had anything else to say.

Glenn was immediately absorbed by the music, which rattled his core. Oh, he was going to have fun tonight. A shot of liquor to help start him off would do the trick. As he walked towards the bar, the savory and sweet aromas of hors d'oeuvres caught his attention as well.

He spotted caterers, weaving around the partygoers and providing the food on platters. Catalan-style crab fritters, mixed berry tartlets, mini rhubarb-ginger crostatas, gouda chicken kebabs, lamb meatballs and much, much more. The warlock managed to take a crab fritter, served on a toothpick, from a caterer passing by. In two bites, he processed and evaluated its taste.

It's good, but...I could do better in my own kitchen.

Glenn flicked the toothpick into a trash can and claimed an abandoned seat by the bar. A brunette dressed as The White Swan came up next to him.
"Two shots of bourbon whiskey, please," she said to the grouchy-looking bartender. He didn't look very happy to be here. Or maybe that was just his face.

"I'll have the same as hers," Glenn added, while offhandedly showing his ID. "Nice costume. Ballet was never my forte, though."

A mermaid—or siren, he could never tell—beside them was denied a drink because she was too young. Noticing her wild mane of curly hair, Glenn recognized her to be part of the duo he followed to get here. She was probably the only person at this entire party wearing casual clothes. She looked like a teenager, but merfolk could easily be as old as most vampires.

Ouch, he thought, stifling a chuckle. Mundane laws. Tough luck. Glenn returned his gaze to The White Swan. Interesting. One of her eyes was cornflower blue; the other was chocolate brown. He flashed a smile before speaking.
"Hey. Do you mind having a quick dance with me after you're finished with your drink? I'm assuming you're here with a friend." Glenn gestured to the two drinks in her hands.

Aurelia haven't been in there for a mere minute and she could already feel her confidence draining. Or being converted into nerves more like it. The bartender that caught her look asked her for some I.D, to which she complied by sliding it along the bar's surface. As the bartender proceeded to pour her, her shots, Aurelia slid her identification card back inside her small pocket on the side of her leotard. That is until he spoke to her again, "More like ease of nerves. Not really from the area if I say so myself."

However, she let him finish with his next customer before actually stating her answer. The male's voice sounded monotonous. She depicted he would rather be anywhere else but here. Talk about her having a rough night, think he was the one having it. She watched as the curly haired female got turned down a drink. She was not quite good a reading what the people around her were yet, however, assuming they all made it in here - they were some kind of supernatural beings. However, if she had to be declined a drink out of the blue like that in her current situation, she wouldn't have survived through this night. Poor girl.

As she was awaiting for those precious glasses of liquid she ordered, another voice followed her same exact order.

The brunette didn't even realise that someone had been next to her. That's how lost she was at this party. The two shots of bourbon made their way to her hands as the blonde male besides her, a cowboy, spoke to her. A small smile danced on her lips at the compliment, "Thanks, I'm assuming line dancing and country are your forte considering your costume." Aurelia let out a soft chuckle as she took one shot glass and tilted it her head backwards to let the liquid pour itself down her throat with a sigh. Finally. She had something to down the nerves.

Her hetero-chromic eyes started slowly scanning the room. She kept wondering what was here? What races? She knew this was something being organised by the Trinity which meant vampires, werewolves and witches were under this roof. The female lowered one glass down, remaining with one as the mysterious cowboy asked her for a dance.

"Sure, I can spare a dance or two. Doesn't have to be a quick one either." she state bluntly as she repeated the same procedure with the second drink, downing it. Hopefully giving the blonde an answer regarding the assumption about her being here with a friend. Hopping of the stool, she leaned against the bar, awaiting for him to finish his own whiskey.

Now that she had some sort of alcohol in her system, she could manage to be social. "Ready when you are cowboy. This swan is ready to flutter her feathers."

gemini felt like she was walking around aimlessly. it definitely didn't help that everyone seemed like giants against her tiny height but after seeing the fifth zombie in a row, all of the costumes blurred together and gemini knew she was utterly lost; she was grateful that she wasn't wearing the heels anymore.

as her bare feet continued to carry her without a clear direction, gemini's long fingers tugged at the tip of her raven ponytail. the young fae hardly had her hair down, she hated how it got in the way whenever she worked and besides, she enjoyed collecting colorful scrunchies to wear.

"hey you made it!"

gemini spun around and noticed andrew heading towards her, a big grin grew on gemini's red lips and a wave of relief crashed over her, she was thankful that there was a recognisable face at the party. a tint of rose bloomed across her fair cheeks as andrew addressed her as a princess, noticing the plastic tiara that sat upon her hair. with a soft giggle, gemini awkwardly half-curtsy with her large skirt, gripping the sides of the skirt as she tried her best not to trip while curtsying.

"you look amazing, uh," gemini stuttered over her words as she studied his costume. it was from one of the many cartoons the two had watched together after work and while gemini loved all the cartoons they watched, adventure time had to be her favourite. "andrew the human?" she finished her sentence with a question mark, unsure if that was the right way to phrase it. her smile stayed in a perfect grin "i've been lost for forever, i'm so glad a familiar face showed up." the words seemed to fall out of her mouth before she could catch herself, did she sound weird? her cheeks only grew redder out of admitting how lost she was.

"I can't believe they got Cedric involved. I thought he hated this place," Gemini said.

Michael followed her gaze to what could only be the bar, and there, stood Cedric Shröder; his boss and friend. Cedric tidied up well when he wanted to, but still that sour look on his face told more than what he would say to any of the partygoers, no doubt. Lou would probably cheer him up. Michael wished he could help, but at the same time, was relieved not to be working tonight. Letting Gemini's comment sink in, he furrowed his brow and felt both perplexed and dubious.

"Yeah... That's weird."

Michael's train of thought was broken when a man approached them—him. His forest green eyes were sparked by recognition, surprise, then an enigmatic smile. It was that bronze, chiseled man with warm eyes and interesting tattoos. He had seen him as a customer a few times at the Cornerstone Pub but never got his name. This time, the mysterious man was dressed as a firefighter with only suspenders to cover to his torso. His shape was pleasantly sturdy and lean.

Well, hell-ooo, Mr. Fireman.
"I don't believe we've to meet properly aside from me asking for a beer. I'm Apollo."
It only made sense that he would conveniently have the name of a god. He spoke further in that velvety voice of his, inviting Michael to have a private conversation with him, to get to know each other better. Michael had no qualms about that. In fact, he didn't mind the compliment either.

"That if you don't mind me stealing him?"
Gemini seemed a little confused that Apollo asked for permission. Perhaps he was just being polite.
"You two have fun, I'll be floating around."
Not that Michael was going to listen if she had been against it, but he smiled nonetheless.

I owe you one, Gem, he thought. Then he looked back at Apollo as they walked together and said, "I'm Michael, by the way. The pleasure is all mine. I was wondering if I'd get to see you again and I'm glad I have."

Glenn watched a dainty smile curl the edges of the brunette's lips at the compliment.
"Thanks, I'm assuming line dancing and country are your forte considering your costume."
Her witty remark made him chuckle. He then said, thoughtfully,
"Mmm, not quite." Glenn glanced down at the counter to see two shots of bourbon whiskey had been placed in front of him by the bartender. He silently gave his thanks, raised the glass to his lips, then dipped his head back. The burn that made his throat tingle was familiar. Short-lived.

"Sure, I can spare a dance or two. Doesn't have to be a quick one either."
Glenn looked curiously at the brunette. Then, as if to answer the question in his mind, she guzzled the other drink down just as quickly as she had done her first. A semblance of surprise crossed his face for half a moment, but it was replaced with an entertained smile.

"Ah, okay. I like your style," the warlock admitted. He saw his friend, Jayce, a few strides away; he was motioning his arm to beckon him forward. Glenn rolled his eyes and made a shooing gesture back at him. The brunette didn't seem to notice—or maybe she noticed but didn't care—as she stepped off her stool.

"Ready when you are, cowboy. This swan is ready to flutter her feathers."
"Alright then, Miss Swan." Glenn downed his last drink and stood up by her side. Playing the part of a gentlemanly cowboy, he offered his elbow to her and gave a sly grin. "Let's dance."

With the brunette linked to his arm, he went deeper into the crowd and closer to the music. There it was, the low pitch of the bass that reverberated through the floor and through his body. It was more powerful now. Glenn has heard this song a million times before. He slipped his arm away and turned around to face The White Swan. He smiled.

Slowly, he started moving to the rhythm, slipping into the song and its sound. Fluid, but crisp, as he knew the flow of the beat and the rise and fall of its tempo. He wasn't trying to impress the young woman in front of him. Rather, he challenged her with an impish smile across his lips that told her to "keep up". Glenn dipped his head low; his hat concealed his eyes with shadows. Where he lost himself in music, he also found the thrill of forgetting time existed.

"It comes from knowing you all these years..." he murmured against her skin, his arms tightening around her waist as he inhaled loudly, taking in as much of her now calmer scent as he physically could. As Reina's hands began to run through his hair he relaxed even more, his body slowly becoming boneless as she returned the favor of calming him down, a low grumble escaping his chest as she continued.

While the woman in his arms had worries of her family issues, Caleb knew he would have family issues if they didn't get moving soon. His mother loathed his distinct lack of motivation and she'd taught Viola well. He let out a small sigh as he pressed another swift kiss to her neck before gently removing her hand from his hair. While it went against every instinct in him to end this small moment, Caleb knew he needed to get dressed.

Some slacks and a shirt would be fine. Nothing too fancy. He hummed quietly at the thought, knowing his mother couldn't get mad at him for that. He didn't have the energy to try and dress up.

"We need to go soon." he mumbled in explanation as he took a step back from her, admiring her form. He sighed. He hated walking away, but the view....he chuckled to himself. "The last thing we need is Viola or my mother coming in or calling us." he added as he grabbed his clothing before stepping into their bathroom to freshen up and change.

It wasn't long before he was ready and slipping on his shoes and grabbing his keys off his dresser. Holding out an arm to the being that mattered most to him in the world, Caleb knew that no matter what happened, he'd be okay as long as she was by his side. He shrugged on his leather jacket at the door and escorted her to his car, opening the door for her before heading around to the driver's side.

"Maybe if we're lucky we'll be able to say our hellos and then sneak out." he said once they were on the road. "Say hi to our relatives and make ourselves scarce? Maybe find an empty room and...nap?" he trailed off somewhat teasingly, glancing at her from the corner of his eyes as he smirked.

It was all Ezra could do to hold back most of his opinions towards the stupid event his elder sister, Lou, had dragged him to. He'd been up on the surface for a little while now and while he was glad to be away from home and everything that had happened, he could easily say he'd rather not be at some lame attempt at a party.

The only good thing about this event would be that he'd be seeing most of his family tonight. Although with the fact that he was currently living with Lou, he wasn't fully sure that was a good thing. She loved to remind him of the fact that he was a freeloader and drag Reina into it as well. Now he was stuck being a bag boy and lugging around all Lou's extra equipment to help her set up before her performance. "What the hell is all this even for anyway..." he mumbled.

Sure, like most of his family, he could sing well enough, but that didn't mean he liked to. Especially not in public and he'd never used any of this....fancy equipment. His lips turned up in a sneer as he glared at the tech he'd dragged inside the building and into the backstage area. No, back when he sang all he needed was his guitar. He shook his head at the random thought. He didn't have time to focus on that now.

He glanced around now looking for his sister, seeing as he'd grabbed everything. "Lou?" he called out, wondering if she was in one of the back rooms. He sighed, stretching his back out. "Man that shit hurts. Why is this crap so heavy?" he grumbled, moving to look out from the back area to see how busy it had gotten since they'd arrived.

He recognized the twins, and some of the others wandering around, some he'd seen at the pub and some he'd never seen before. Idly, Ezra wondered where the firecracker who hung around his sister Reina's boyfriend was. He was bored and she was always fun to mess with. He hummed to himself wondering if he could find any pencils laying around the place on the off-chance that he found her.

reina enjoyed being in caleb's arms. it brought her safety.

she hummed as he kissed her neck and pulled away, listening to his explanation. he was right; they did have to get moving soon. she was slightly surprised he was actively trying to get to the party, but she knew he was trying to get home as quickly as possible. if they got in, they could leave faster. it made sense in caleb's mind and it did in hers, too - she just hoped she'd be fast enough to do her usual pleasantries. "funny I'm not the one pushing you to get moving." she chuckled softly, cheeks turning pink as his eyes roamed over her.

but he was right. they had to move on now before viola and jolie would be even more irritated.

she would keep her thoughts to herself, she decided as her own eyes landed on his back while he headed towards their bathroom. she sighed softly. she could only hope tonight would go just as planned, with no problems. no problems at all.

reina kept her eyes closed, placing her hands on the dresser and she attempted to calm herself, taking a deep breath in. she usually wasn't wrong, but if everyone was there....they could handle it fine, couldn't they? if something went wrong?

she opened her eyes as caleb came out of the bathroom, fully dressed, and she followed suit with a fully dressed smile.

they would be just fine.

reina grabbed her red petticoat, sliding it on. when caleb offered an arm to her, she was quick to take it, intertwining their fingers together and giving his hand a squeeze. she was prepared for anything as per usual, but with caleb, she found herself actually believing she was ready. it was amazing how much one person could aid another's self-confidence; with caleb's help over the years, the help of her younger siblings, and the family she'd made at the loup-garou house, she was a stronger person.

she just had to learn to believe it when they weren't around, as well.

reina pressed a kiss to caleb's cheek as he held the door open for her, sliding in the car and fastening her seat belt. they drove for a while before caleb spoke up in his usual teasing tone, and she found herself flustered once again as she looked at him, admiring the smirk on his face.

"oh wow...you really are something else...." she found herself saying. she couldn't deny the attraction of his words and the idea of stepping in and out, as that meant she'd have less time in the spotlight like she preferred it to be. besides, she couldn't really deny caleb anything - plus, she didn't want to. he didn't ask for much from her. it [i[was[/i] a good idea, after all.... "...we'll see, alright?" as she spoke, she once again took his non-dominant hand into hers, bringing it over to her lips to give the back of his hand a kiss. she knew he was already exhausted at the prospect of being there, so she'd give them at least thirty minutes before they would disappear from everyone.

hopefully viola and jolie wouldn't mind.

it annoyed the fuck out of lou that she had to bring so much shit when all she needed was her fucking voice.

and if that wasn't enough, her baby brother was complaining about it, too.

she wished she could say she was sorry, that she didn't want any of this, but frankly, lou didn't give a rat's ass about apologies that weren't hers to give. she gave a shit, of course, but the person who needed to apologize to ezra would have been the head of the hotel, aka the vampires.

and the best apology ezra would receive from nat would be his throat ripped out sooner rather than later.

might as well let bygones be bygones. she appreciated her baby brother's throat where it was.

anyway, lou was a little more focused on her face. she heard her brother call out for her and she sucked on her tongue, leaning out the doorway to wave. "yo. leave that shit, the hotel members will get it. you came here to relax and be my plus one. you carried enough, baby bro. go have fun, alright?"

she needed to figure out her outfit, her makeup....everything. she let out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding, heading back into the room. lou liked to keep her stress from others. it wasn't their fucking business, as far as she was concerned. it made her feel weak, and she hated that shit. but the idea of performing for the mort-viviant house didn't give her much peace. being cedric's usual musical support meant that when he was called upon, so was she. it didn't sit right with her, just like he hated it. was it the knowledge that natalia was quick to act instead of talking? lou and her should have gotten along with that thought process, but....

even if lou was angry, the most damage she'd do, unless threatened, would be to break a nose, maybe knock some teeth in. a few bites, pulling of hair as well.

alouette wasn't the type to snap people's necks.

she looked into the mirror in front of her, seething a bit at the thought if shit went wrong, letting out a last expletive as she headed off to the bathroom, grabbing her dress.

"fuck me, fuck this, fuck it all."

she needed a fucking drink.

Viola Winthrop
"Good things come in small packages, eh?"

location: loup-garou house→the orient hotel

mood: curious

outfit: viola as a zombie

with: ezra

"Did you hear that?"
"Yeah..."
"I think the sound came from over there. I'll go check it out."

"Well, she's dead."
Viola had been listening to a predictable slasher film while she stood in front of the bathroom mirror, finishing the last gorey touch-ups of her zombie makeup. She wasn't a professional, but after following a YouTube tutorial, her efforts were decent. Decent enough to shock someone under the right lighting. She even achieved that authentic "undead" look, by shredding her outfit a little
—just a shirt and a pair of jeans she knew she wasn't going to miss.

Viola thoroughly enjoyed Halloween. She enjoyed it to the extent that she'd attend a grand costume party not because she needed to, but because she wanted to. She also wanted to horde some sour candy for herself.
Alright... Done.
Viola turned off the TV, pocketed the invitation card from her nightstand, then left her room. She headed straight to Caleb's room, knowing that's where he and Reina last were. Due to a past experience she'd rather repress, she knew not to barge in on the lovebirds.

She instead knocked and shouted, "I'm going to the party! I better see you there!"
There was no response—or sound, for that matter.
"...I'm comin' in!" She opened the door, but found the room empty. Coming to the conclusion that they were already at the Orient Hotel, she shrugged her shoulders and went out to her car.

Driving to her destination had been quick, but following her nose and ears had gotten her to the secret entrance quicker. Viola was easily granted access. While she kept an eye out for Caleb and Reina, she was tempted to go straight to the dance floor and enjoy herself. However, the investigative journalist side of her demanded exploration. There was little opportunity to venture in Mort-Vivant territory and even less because she was a werewolf. But she was genuinely curious: could other clandestine areas be found from here?

Viola wandered aimlessly until she found herself near the backstage area. There, she bumped into none other than Ezra Solis. She couldn't decide whether he was the most obnoxious boy she's ever met or the best person to exchange insults with. Luckily, she was in a good mood. Her face twisted into a feigned scowl, but her eyes were playful.

"Oh great, it's you again... And what're you supposed to be? Yourself?"

this head of house shit was incredibly tiring.

vitani removed her sunglasses as she headed into the party after finishing off her second cigarette, ignoring the slight hisses she received from the vampires, displaying their annoyance of having a member of sorcière impie, especially the head of house, in their territory. she rolled her eyes at the foolish behavior, knowing if they really wanted a fight, they'd stop hissing and start baring their fangs.

they didn't scare her. if they wanted to bother her, they'd burn for the attempt.

tani hadn't felt like dressing up, especially since she'd been out earlier dealing with yet another rebel witch coven that thought they'd been slick with using human bones instead of ones from animals, so the makeup she'd worn earlier, the eyeshadow smudged because she'd fallen asleep for a moment on the drive back on her brother's shoulder, was what these people were getting. having to deal with her own kind was exhausting, especially when they believed their methods were the right ones. vitani and zerek agreed that hurting others would not be the sorcière impie modus operandi any longer. that was their past, their mother's past. it was not to be their future.

it was tiring that, even though that all was the truth, they still had to tear down those witches who didn't get with the program.

vitani headed into the bathroom, scrubbing her hands and cleaning the dried blood from under her fingers as she looked herself in the mirror. the smudge wasn't that bad around her eyes, looked like it was done on purpose, even. there was only something she needed to fix, and she assumed that was the real reason she'd gotten the teething treatment from the vamps stalking outside the hotel.

she cracked a slight smile as she slowly rubbed the blood streak off her face. it had been mostly hidden when she'd been wearing her sunglasses, but now it was front and center. it took a few rubs, but after a while her face was clear of vital fluids. she didn't look as exhausted as she felt, and that was a blessing in itself. tani went through the checklist in her mind: she'd had her smoke, she'd had time to herself between the witches and the party. now all she needed was her drink.

"alright, vitani. you're alright." she mumbled slightly to herself, eyeing her reflection once again.

vitani suddenly wondered if her brother had made it yet as she headed out of the bathroom and towards the bar. she could only hope he was alright and they'd see each other soon. she knew he didn't take well to her being violent, and she despised having to do that in front of him. but he was her second. that was how things went. even if she wanted to, she couldn't change that without a fight, and right now, vitani was tired of fighting. she'd done enough of that, recently. in a few years, maybe, she'd attempt another shake of the system.

for now, her eyes focused on a familiar face, and they softened as she sat at his bar, near a brunette and a girl she recognized as one of the solis children.

"missing your pub at every second, cedric."

the admittance, due to a mix of not wanting to be in the orient hotel of all places and yearning for her usual booth in the cornerstone pub cedric ran, came freely. she rested her chin in her hand with a soft sigh. she'd wait until he was done checking identifications, and she grabbed hers as a just-in-case, before conversing further and ordering her drink. she didn't want to overwhelm the guy. he was already out of his element.

she was out of hers, too, if she were to be honest.
