Harian.jpg

Name: Harian of Kadesh

Alias: Harian Hart

Age: First record of appearance: 3300 years ago

Race: Mid-level Djinn

Appearance: Harian can look like anything with enough effort, though it takes time to master a new form. She isn’t overly attached to gender, but her preferred human form is that of a young, raven-haired woman of about 21, often dressed in a neat vest and tie. Her 'to intimidate' form is her own creative rendition of Sekhmet, the Egyptian lion-headed goddess of war. The fur on her feline features is coal black and this form is dressed in traditional Egyptian war attire, with two identical khopesh blades and a feral stare. She also likes going about as a black panther, though to blend in, she usually shrinks it down to a house cat.

sekmet.jpg

  • Skills and Abilities: Djinn are not the most powerful of chaos spirits. They are sort of in the middle. Harian couldn’t incinerate more than an imp or perhaps half a human if she really tried. Her talent lies in shape-shifting and her creative use of the limited power she does have, generally related to fire and heat. Her size limits are anything from a wasp to a large carnivore like say…a tiger, or a smallish manticore. She can also project her essence into physical objects, but not more than 20 feet from her body and she cannot throw her core to escape a hit. She must have seen the object before, so she could copy a key, but not open a lock the key to which she does not know. She has some minor shielding abilities and of course her essence repairs itself slowly after damage by silver, herbs or iron. Anything from the physical plane that is not one of her listed weaknesses tends to pass harmlessly through her essence if she focuses, or else will hit her, but physical attacks do little to subdue her. She finds demon fire can be unpleasantly lethal in large doses and Angelic powers are dangerous too.

Weapons and equipment: Harian has found it useful to carry a handgun in this day and age. Mauling someone by panther or decapitation by khopesh isn’t really practical anymore. For extra spite she commissions the bullets specially out of enchanted silver (a gift from her summoner), though this means she cannot reload the damned thing by herself without great pain. The bullets aren’t lethal to most demons/celestial beings, but they will give them a nasty sting and weaken them if hit in the right place. Harian prefers to avoid conflict however, being forced to serve on this offensive physical plane is not the best incentive for overwhelming loyalty to the cause. The gun unfortunately does not shift with her, so if in a pinch she may abandon the weapon in favor of a quick, stealthy retreat.

    Alias: Falarion (no last name)

    Sun Wukong.png

Race: Human converted into Hindu Deity

Age: Appears 21-years-old, but is immortal

Appearance: While mostly appearing human without Glamour, he also sports a yellow monkey’s tail. When the Glamour is in effect, anyone with the ability to see past it will see a normal young adult boy with a monkey’s tail. If unable to see past the Glamour, he will simply appear human. He does have to be mindful of his tail with or without the Glamour, as it is difficult to explain when it is not visible. His usual attire sticks very closely to what is pictured above. He is not afraid to show off his body and makes that a point with how he dresses.

ARYS;

34q5htt.jpg

BASICS;

Name: Arys (Air-es)

Race: Cunning Trickster Demigod

Age: NA

Appearance: When looking at Arys, she is not what one would think a Trickster Demon would look like. Do not let Arys’ naturally soft facial features fool you, she is quite cunning and deceitfully immoral (her looks are part of her deceit). She stands at a petite five-foot-two and her true form sprouts coiled horns that protrude from either side of her head with long and muted salmon-hued hair and complemental eyes. As a trickster, Arys can appear as anything she wishes, so long as she has a clear image of the person in her mind. Her version, however, has a significant flaw and may or may not be able to be detected depending on the individual. When out and about around mortals, she often chooses to simply hide her horns.
566638
566640

SKILLS;

Arys’ main powers stem from her core; tricks. She can manipulate others into pain illusions, pain induction, or simple illusions but they are simply just that: illusions. Anyone has the capability to break through these tricks and illusions depending on their skill, awareness, and mental capacity. Her strongest capabilities are actual reality warping where she can change the properties or physical appearance of something permanently, but this exudes a lot of physically stamina depending on how large the change is and can only be used sparingly if the object requires a lot of change. Aside from that, she has is able to levitate, use teleportation, use telekinesis (transport objects), and has enhanced charisma and wits.

As a Demigod, Arys possesses superhuman strength, immunity to most human diseases and conventional injury.

WEAPONS&WEAKNESS;

Arys prefers to rely on her wit, illusions, and the power given to her. However, she is not stupid and is fully aware of her limitations. Because of this, she straps a hidden dagger in her sleeve in case of a melee.

For everyday items, she carries around a phone (trying to keep up with the youngins these days).

Arys is inherently weak against silver, iron, and purification herbs. When outwitted or her illusions/tricks are revealed, Arys must either rely on her telekinesis and reality warping at the expense of physical strength and stamina or use the dagger.

PERSONALITY;

Although appearing quiet and reserved at first, Arys is quite the talker once time passes. In the beginning, she prefers to observe her surroundings and others, getting a sense for who they are as a person and, of course, what could possibly make them tick. She enjoys engaging with others and subjecting them to her trickery. Unless a true enemy, her tricks are often harmless and fun in nature towards her friends.

It may take a while to earn Arys’ trust, but once it is achieved, she is fiercely loyal and a true companion, even going as far as ceasing her pranks (maybe, if you’re lucky). Her motives and emotions may change depending on if she becomes bored or not, often creating chaos just for the heck of it. Sometimes throwing in a good curveball never hurt anyone, right? She is not innately evil and is often described as speaking before thinking (as well as attack and think later), witty, sarcastic, and blunt. At times, it is hard to get Arys to shut up if she enjoys your company.

GOALS;

When Arys first arrived in this world, she had no link or connection to it. She was simply acting as a messenger between worlds. During her stay, she became curious and decided to ensue some chaos and mischief. As time passed, however, she slowly began to become attached to the beings of this world and how they worked. They interested her with the way they spoke, worked, betrayed each other, and so on. So, seeing such an interesting world full of diversity being destroyed would take away most of her fun (think more anti-hero) and she answered the beckoning.

BIO;

Arys, a Trickster Demigod born in a world known as Arcadia, grew up to serve the higher order of Gods in Arcadia. They often tasked her with delivering messages and opening portals to other worlds. However, Arys quickly grew bored and began to use her illusional powers and cunning personality to cause chaos wherever she went. The Gods quickly caught wind of her antics and banished her indefinitely from Arcadia. This was less of a punishment for Arys and more of a relief.

Now unbound from any God, Arys was free to travel between worlds. She would spend ample amounts of time wherever she went, learning of their different cultures and how their society worked. It did not take long for Arys to learn what could unhinge a society. She, of course, never took it that far and only used her powers for entertainment. It wasn’t until she arrived in the modern day that she was truly intrigued to the point of staying permanently in one society. Each person and soul bound to this world was different. So, she comfortably made this place her home, blending in with society and staying under the radar with her illusions. Having only made this place her home less than six months ago, she is still learning the basics of the planet and its inhabitants as well as their customs and traditions. At times, she can be shown throwing up peace signs (or other types of gestures the youths are using these days) or using words incorrectly.

Simple pleasures from the modern world intrigue Arys, including ice cream. She can often be seen eating a soft-serve vanilla cone as she walks the streets of the world. Naturally inquisitive and talkative, she can also be seen with her nose buried in a book or asking too many questions and annoying whoever is subjected to her questioning. The worst thing for Arys is boredom and if a fight or anything is taking too long or becomes too boring for her, her more “ruthless” side will show through, often going to extreme lengths to end the boredom.

Name: Hayle

Race: Demon (Ice)

Age: Appears to be 21 years old

Appearance:
Outside of Hayle's demon appearance she genuinely looks the same, white braided hair that reaches down to her shoulder blades. Icy blue eyes that could freeze a man on the spot if they looked deep into them, pale skin that compliments the blue markings all over her body that humans tend to assume are just some fancy tattoo's. Although she keeps her pointed ears even in glamour always having to use the excuse "I have had these since birth"
4a06e6f6ed2ec8f484ef88f3189b53da.jpg
Skills and abilities:
Hayle has always been quite the skilled demon when it comes to ice manipulation, she can create shards of ice from a simple puddle of water but there must be water around for her to use. She needs water to create ice like weapons she can use, she tends to make a lot of swords or well spears of ice for her to use. But she can't just because she can't create ice from nothing that does not mean that she can't do anything if there is no water around, she knows hand to hand combat, which she can and will use if she is desperate enough but she's not that good she prefers her ice weapons. Hayle has a colder body temperature than a normal human being can give people quite the shock if they touch her, in her demon form just entering a room alone can make it as cold as Antarctica itself but this all depends on how warm the room is. If too hot for Hayle to handle her cold body won't radiate the cold, she can also control this so that she is not freezing everyone to death (not literally) with her magic.

Weapons and equipment:
Hayle doesn't carry around any weapons unless you count a bottle or two of water as a weapon? She carries nothing that really needs to be glamoured since she likes to stay hidden when in sight of mortals. But what she does carry around is a mobile phone, a purse with enough money to survive and a few bottles of water that she can use as a weapon if she so desperately needs to.

Weaknesses:
Hayle is weak to fire or anything relating to heat, she can't bare to be in a hot room longer than a few hours, it makes her weak and leaves her in a vulnerable state. She is also incredibly weak to anything silver or made of iron.

Personality:
You'd think being an ice demon she would be cold and unloving to everyone who comes into contact with her but that is frankly incorrect, Hayle is a fun-loving, charismatic demon who yes can be a bit cold at times but only if someone pisses her off but other than that she loves meeting new people and she knows she can be a bit overwhelming at times but that's just who she is. She is very different from most demons you would find roaming around the city. She has quite the sarcastic little demon though and can have quite the temper if you annoy her or hurt someone she cares about or if you lie to her, she absolutely despises liars but she also gives those the benefit of the doubt if it's in your nature to lie and trick people.

When not around people she cares about or her friends she can be seen relaxing around and playing with her magic to have a little fun creating all these lovely shapes and designs out of ice. But around fellow demons she has to act mean and conniving much to her annoyance, she despises being mean and acting like a demon (even though she technically is one). Truth is she is loyal to the end, she will gladly put herself into danger if it means she can save someone she loves or someone she has become friends with. But as much as Hayle loves making friends she finds it hard to make friends with fire magic users but only if they are using fire in her area, although she still tries her very hardest to get close to them even if their magic can kill her.

Goals and motivations:
What are Hayle's goals and motivations? Well other than to live peacefully among humans and not causing much of an issue she wishes to learn all about the history of humans, sure she has been around for awhile she hasn't been around long enough to know of the past like it was yesterday unlike some older demons. She also wishes to teach humans that not all demons wish them harm some of them like herself wish only to help or just to live on her own in peace without the humans trying to burn her.

Bio:
Hayle has been a demon for longer than 23 years now although how she became a demon always left her confused since she never could quite remember what happened when she became one, but what she does remember is that before her time as a demon she lived a peaceful and loving life. She remembers her family and she remembers that when she was younger she had two siblings but as hard as she tried she cannot find them for the life of her, after so many years of trying to find out her past she gave up knowing that if she indeed had a family and had two younger siblings they were probably long dead or they probably couldn't remember having a sister and they would probably be terrified to find that she hasn't aged a day since turning into a demon.

But as for the current time Hayle lives peacefully among the humans, working amongst them in hopes to keep her demonic identity a secret. She currently works as an ice sculptor even though she technically cheats and uses her magic to create the designs she is asked for, she also finds time to help out at the local ice rink. She tends to be in places where her cold temperature won't effect those around her, the worst it does is add to the already freezing cold that she works in. Amongst the humans Hayle is barely noticeable, most forget about her unless she is in an area every single day but the only place that really happens is the famous cafe near her home where she always comes in to buy an ice coffee since she can't stand the hot stuff, much to the staffs confusion when she buys it in winter.

Mohawk warrior by chimicalstar

Name:
Hino

Race:
Iroquois God

Age:
Immortal- although, compared to gods and demons of other religions he is quite young

Appearance (please reference picture):
Hino is a 6'4'' indigenous god, with long black hair and typically dark brown eyes. His eyes turn blue on certain occasions (see bio). He has traditional earrings and tribal tattoos on his body that represent his successes through his rights of passage as well as his triumphs in his early life. He is very traditional according to his culture and will almost always wear what is seen in the picture to the left, but will use a glamour to disguise himself in the real world (usually a grey shirt, black leather jacket, and jeans with his hair either down, or in a bun).

General Information:
Hino is the Iroquois Thunder God and the eldest brother and leader of the Race of Thunders. On the day of his birth, the sky grew dark despite it being the middle of the day. Suddenly, water started to fall from the clouds, great flashes of light streaked across the sky followed by a deafening crack. He was the first born of a new race called the Thunders. The Thunders are storm spirits that live in the sky. They have been tasked by the Sky Mother (Antaensic) with creating weather, particularly, wind, thunder, lightning, snow, and rain. It is his responsibility to protect the people living in North America and bring rain in order to nourish the crops and keep his people hydrated. Although he is a very powerful and dangerous warrior, he has played a positive role in the stories of many other Iroquois heroes and deities.

  • Skills and abilities:
    - Create and control various forms of weather (particularly wind, rain, snow, thunder, lightning)
    - Fire/redirect lightning through the body and out the hands
    - As a god, he has increased strength, speed, agility, and durability
    - Resistant to electricity attacks

    Weaknesses:
    -
Deserts and dry weather (both cold and hot deserts) weaken him and his ability to create weather
    - It takes time to change weather once it has been summoned, therefore he cannot create two very different types of weather in the same place back-to-back. He is only able to summon weather a few times a day.
    - The larger the storm, the more energy and time he needs to make a storm. For example, if you needed him to summon a hurricane, you would need to give him a heads up as it would take much longer than creating a simple snowstorm.
    - Hino cannot control the temperature, so the weather he creates must be compatible with the temperature. For example, if it was hot, he could not summon snow because it would melt and turn to rain; and vice versa, if it was cold and he summoned rain, it would turn to snow or *shudders* freezing rain.
    - Hino is limited with his control of the weather because it must be balanced and has to be very conscious of that. For example, if he makes it rain on one side of the country for several weeks, another area of the country will have a drought. Therefore, he is very conscious of the effect using certain powers (rain, snow, and wind) in a fight will have on areas of NA. After all, he has a responsibility to provide them with rain
    - He has a fear of snakes

Name: Gabriel Albright

Race: Caucasian human

Age: 32

Due to his role as Justicar, Gabriel possess peak human strength, speed and endurance. When acting directly in service to his master, these are enhanced even further, going far beyond the limits of human ability. He has the innate ability to sense his masters’ will at all times. As the vassal of a war goddess, he also possess masterful skill with firearms, martial arts, and bladed weapons. His connection to divinity grants him protection from diseases, though disease caused by mystical or divine means bypass this. He has an accelerated healing rate several times greater than an average human and an incredibly high pain tolerance capable of taking bullets in non-vital areas with little effect on his ability. Gabriel speaks and understands several different languages: English, Greek, Arabic, and German. He is a skilled coder and hacker, though not skilled enough to be able to break into secure government files, bank systems, or any other similarly high security databases. Though not entirely immune, Gabriel also has a passive resistance to mystical effects. Gabriel is not immortal and can be killed by normal means, but is functionally un-aging. Outside of being killed, Gabriel could theoretically continue living indefinitely. Due to his extensive and obsessive study of all things paranormal and supernatural, Gabriel possess a wealth of knowledge about the Occult, as well as a talent for mysticism.

Weapons and equipment: Customized M1911 and concealed carry permit. Padded leather duster. Modern cellphone with wireless headphones.

Weaknesses: Other than his base physical traits, skills, and knowledge he has picked up himself, Gabriel is unable to access most of his powers unless acting on his masters will or in times of great peril. His accelerated healing is not regeneration. While he can recover from a bullet wound quickly, this process takes several days depending on the severity of the injury. Due to his solitary lifestyle and childhood, Gabriel has very poor social skills and is prone to insulting or angering people without intending to. Though intelligent and learned, Gabriel is highly susceptible to unnatural mental influence. Due to his heightened physical abilities, Gabriel's metabolism has to work far harder than normal humans, needing 3 to 4 times the amount of caloric intake per day than would be necessary for an average person his age. If these needs are not met, he quickly becomes weaker and suffers from symptoms similar to those of hypoglycemia.

Gabriel is a nice enough person, but harsh when he needs to be. He dislikes banter and would rather get to the heart of a conversation than beat around the bush. Blunt, honest, loyal, and stubborn to a fault, he takes his duties as Justicar very seriously. When not out on errands for his divine leash-holder, he likes to spend time in libraries, a leftover urge from his childhood. He hates dishonesty, people who bend or break rules or oaths, and those who would harm the innocent.

Though his duties often contradict what his nature would otherwise drive him to do, Gabriel goes out of his way to help those in need, much to the occasional irritation of his master if such acts would sway the balance in either direction. Usually quiet and solitary, he feels equally at ease alone and in crowded places even though he sometimes gets odd looks for his choice of attire and seemingly emotionless expression. He prefers to avoid direct conflict and violent encounters if at all possible. Not one to anger easily, Gabriel tries his hardest to keep his emotions as balanced as the universe should be. He detests being held to such strict guidelines by his master, all the while berating himself for agreeing to this deal so many years ago.

Goals and motivations: To serve Adrestia and carry out her will on the earthly plane, while seeking a way to rid himself of the shackles of constraint placed on him that bind his existence to her for all time.

Gabriel was born into what could only be described as the quintessential white-collar family. His father, Jacob Albright was a middle management type, so nondescript and bland it almost made him stand out like a sore thumb. His mother was much the same, your typical stay-at-home mom, always a smile on her face, always baking something. Gabriel was what any onlooker would call the black sheep of the family. While his brother and sister were content with living their mundane, all-too-ordinary lives, Gabriel longed for something different. Always a curious child, his fascination with things that other people overlooked or didn’t think about was well known by the neighborhood. He would wander off to have imaginary adventures in the nearby forest, spend hours upon hours in the library mulling over mounds of books, both fiction and non-fiction. That was how it started. His interests took a turn when he began to study other things. Paranormal and supernatural fields of research soon occupied his whole childhood. It was this undying obsession with all things very much not ordinary that drove him forward. While others who obsess over things often find themselves driven mad, allowing their entire lives to fall to ruin around them in their all-consuming quests, Gabriel used his love of the paranormal aspects of the world to motivate himself to greater heights, his logic being that if he could learn as much as he possibly could from every subject he came across, he would have all the tools he needed to uncover what he knew in his heart was the truth.

“Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn't.”

These words, among others, were burned into his mind. Famous and influential people from all across the globe since the beginning of recorded history have been reporting and documenting strange and unnatural things taking place. Things that are not accepted by modern science as possible. Unfortunately for modern science, these things rarely care if they are considered possible or not.

Gabriel’s never ending quest into the world of the weird eventually brought him into the field of IT studies. His creativity and intelligence allowed him to excel in his chosen field, and though it was a wonderful career opportunity, it was merely a means to an end for Gabriel. There was only one place where he could hope to truly find any sort of real answer to his burning questions: The dark web. The true dark web. What most people mean by ‘the dark web’ is just the sites and forums that search engines don’t catalog. What Gabriel was reaching towards was far deeper, the true dark depths of the endless informational horde that is the internet. Sometimes he looks back on those days and wishes he had listened to that little voice in his head that kept telling him that he wouldn’t like what he found. Gabriel spent the next three years of his life mining the internet for every drop of truth about the supernatural that he could find. Most of it was just occult bunk that neo-pagans and new age wannabe wiccans peddled as ‘magic’. But one day that changed, as it was always bound to. If you search for something long enough, you will likely find it. And find it he did. On a bland, shady site in the deepest depths of the web he found what he was looking for. For all intents and purposes it appeared to be just more of the same eclectic garbage he had found thousands of times before. There was a scholar in Greece who claimed that anyone who visited the ruins of a great temple and slept upon the altar that resides there would receive a boon from the gods themselves. Out of ideas, and curious to no end, Gabriel planned out his trip to Greece to see this temple. He wasted no time in hiring a guide and making his way there, paying no heed to the warnings and pleas from the locals to stay away, that the gods were angry. The temple was in ruins, hundreds of years of misuse and neglect having ravaged the place. As the night grew close and the sky darkened, Gabriel lay himself upon the altar and closed his eyes. That night changed everything. In his dream-state, Gabriel was confronted by Adrestia, Greek goddess of just retribution and the balance between good and evil. He was given a choice. She would grant him that which he sought: a glimpse behind the veil of secrecy and deception that hid the darker side of the world. In exchange for this knowledge, he would become her chosen. Her vassal and servant on this plane. He would retain his free will, to a point, but serve her unerringly for all time. He would become judge, jury, and executioner and keep the balance between good and evil. The world must be kept in eternal balance, lest it fall to ruin. Neither side can be allowed to have an advantage over the other. Gabriel accepted, seeing this as his one and only chance to learn what the world was really like. He still regrets his decision years later.

Zoya

"I am mine before I am ever anyone else's."

Basics

Race: Vila

Age: Immortal but appears around 20

Appearance:
Like all traditional Vila, Zoya has a tall elegant figure and a face she likes to say was crafted by the gracious gods. Her iris are a deep violet that shine an oceanic blue in the moonlight, this contrasts her pale blonde hair. Similar to her eyes, her hair shines white under the moon and falls below her waist. Her fair skin is never blemished and will always remain clear due to the nature of her race. She will often be seen wearing dresses of white with skirts that billow easily in the wind but she is partial to blues and purples, especially when wearing golden jewellery. If she performs however, she wears form fitting clothes because she's there to give them a show isn't she?

Skills and Abilities

  • Zoya is remarkably flexible, being naturally acrobatic and bendy. This doesn’t come from being skilled in the art of gymnastics but more of dance.
  • Like all Vila, Zoya can heal and cure wounds and communicate with animals.
  • Under certain circumstances, Zoya has the ability to foresee the future. Whilst this ability isn’t as potent in her as it can be in Vila, the potential is still there.
  • Due to her usual avoidance of proper techniques in combat, Zoya enjoys bullshitting her way through and can be quite good at evasive manoeuvres.
  • As a creature of the night, she is most powerful under the moon and can recover under it.
  • She also has the ability to grow white wings, perhaps making her appear angelic to those who can see them. Along with wings, she can grow fangs and talons. These three are the only thing she glamours and a glamour is used when she is using them, not for anything else. She’s not some monstrosity.
  • She was an expert shot with a bow and once an extraordinary hunter. Though time has passed and with it the waning of her marvellous skill that still remains, but is a shadow of what it used to be.
  • Whether it be through a kick or a punch or even just Zoya whistling, she can manipulate the air around her and influence it to her benefit. She can use this to fly, evade people or even make a makeshift attack out of it.

Weaknesses

  • Like all Fae, she is weak to iron and even weaker to silver. Not only does it nullify her powers but it can incapacitate her, leaving her susceptible to further damage.
  • In her human lifetime Zoya did not come from a noble background, instead she originated from a poverty ridden family who certainly couldn’t afford for a tutor so Zoya cannot read or write. Though as time has passed, she can produce a squiggle reminiscent of a heart that she claims is a signature and she can recognise her own name.
  • Due to Vila’s being a type of Faerie, Zoya is unable to to speak in the flowery deceptions of lies. Whatever Zoya says is true to her.
  • The past in general is a tricky subject to talk about, she does not take it as a light conversation topic and will drink her sorrows away in the hopes for a party because she hates to look back on everything she’s lost.
  • Ultimately in combat, she relies heavily on manipulating the air around her. If her ability was to be taken away, she would become a sitting duck.
Weapons and Equipment

Perhaps she may not be the best equipped for combat, but she does have a delicately crafted bow with a quiver stocked with dozens of silver tipped arrows. Though they are very handy, she must be careful around her own arrows as well as finding it difficult to transport a bow around inconspicuously.
Alongside that bow is an ornate obsidian knife, though the chances of her willingly delving into combat with the keepsake is definitely low.
Personality

Once upon a time Zoya may have enjoyed toying with people, playing the game of manipulation, but centuries pass and like all people you get bored of childish games and move on. If she was to be judged by the folk she came from, they’d certainly scoff and lament at what she’d become. For the Zoya now is rather soft, kind and definitely stubborn to a fault. Ever since the beginning of her life as a Vila, Zoya has always had a wanderlust, the crave to leave everything and discover what the world is like, whether it be through people or locations. She likes to live in the moment, not dwelling on the past that leaves a bitter taste in her mouth, or on the future that’s vague and often foreboding at times. Doing what makes her happy at the time may sound fun, but it gets her into a spot of trouble when she does something she may make future Zoya have to deal with. “That’s her problem not mine.” Despite being different from the usual Vila, Zoya still has the ingrained belief that she is beautiful and if you insult her appearance you are gonna have to deal with an angry gal let’s just say that.

Whilst she would never admit it, Zoya relies heavily on other people. Their actions influence hers, their moods can effect her own and she hates to be alone. Her fear of isolation is often caused by her own anger fuelled or fear ridden decisions. It isn’t uncommon for her to push people away if she's afraid, or to flee before she gets too close to stop herself from being hurt. From her life she’s learnt that sometimes it’s better to be alone, that selfish indulgence can be quite the wrong windfall to become trapped in, but it’s a cycle of naivety where Zoya believes perhaps the next time she gets close to someone it will be different. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say she has commitment issues (albeit a fear of it), especially in romantic relationships. She believes herself to be a true free spirit, abiding by her own rules and will, that nothing can hold her down, though she knows that is just a mindset she convinced herself she has.
Goals and Motivations
Even at the beginning of her life, her goal has been to stay alive. Enjoying the mortal pleasures had forever been her favourite thing and she enjoys to live. Perhaps this can influence more cowardly behaviour, but after all she’s ran from is it really a shock?
Bio

Life as a human could’ve been worse. Summers were too short and winters felt unending and left the forests feeling like labyrinths of snow and ice. As a child her job in the family was to collect wood, but soon enough she wasn’t a child no more and to the streets she turned. The events that led up to her death were quite tragic. No amount of booze could ever make her forget her fear, a pretty bird trapped in a cold cage was how she felt, even to this day.

Now a shell of a human but not wholly Fae, Zo craved one thing in the beginning of her new existence, acceptance. So when faced with rejection she crumpled, lashed out and began hanging around with the wrong people. This brought upon her exile. Life in a dysfunctional and controlling family may have been bad, but the pure isolation that was left for her afterwards was multitudes worse. So without the land of Faerie to roam in her short existence as a Vila, she turned back to the mortal world that’d discarded her once only for her to come bouncing back with quite the punch.

During the centuries that followed she became a woman of historic culture, slipping around the world with a fellow exiled companion where they would work together. Zoya was the lure and could bait any human out, her little friend was the one with sticky fingers that kept them afloat. Like all things, this chapter in her life came to an end. Brought on by a disagreement between the two that spiralled into a venomous fight and eventual parting.

Who needs friends when you can just drink your problems away?

During the 20th century after a lot more wandering and scraping by, Zoya found a home in a bar of all places. Organising a deal between herself and the owner, they set up a contract for her to perform on Fridays and to just help around the bar on other nights. In a lot of aspects, the bar was the best thing to happen to Zoya in years. There was supportive people, lots of supernatural beings that came and went, and friends who she loved with all her heart. Nothing tragic came in the way of her friendships, there was no harrowing dispute or fight, instead it was the invitation from a Dijinn that made her leave.

    Name: Kiyomi

    Race: Kitsune

    Age: Immortal

    Appearance:
With long, silky white hair that falls past her hips, brilliant sapphire blue eyes, a pale complexion, and a delicately structured face, Kiyomi is considered to be a very beautiful woman in the eyes of those who fall for her glamour. Like many Kitsunes, she possesses a human form that naturally attracts and lures anyone to her presence. Kiyomi carries herself with a natural born elegance and poise, with a straightened posture and long, slender legs. With a love for fine jewelry, she can most often be found adorned with gold necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings of any sort. Mocking her traditional gown, Kiyomi wears long silk dresses, patterned with flowers or birds.

In her partial form, two fox ears sprout from her head and nine long fluffy tails extend behind her, however she still harbors human features. Kiyomi tends to wear more traditional Japanese clothing when in this form, and always seems to find herself wearing the same red silk gown with gold flowers imprinted into the delicate fabric.

When Kiyomi is in her real form, she becomes a medium-sized white fox with big blue eyes and nine fluffy tails that have red tips. Two white pearl-shaped orbs float behind her, containing her soul and source of powers.

Name: Julian Blackwell

Profession: Elemental Master Magician

Race: Human

Appearance: Julian Blackwell tends to dress well no matter the occasion. He's used his skill in magic to become a comfortably wealthy man which shows in his appearance. His suits are tailored though they show hints of occult and arcane patterning in them often to help in the flow of magic. Red is a predominant color he favors also with all shades of it up to oranges and pinks. His hair tends to be styled back and he seems to be about in his forties.

Age: 100

  • Julian's primary area of expertise is arcane magic. He has spent a greater part of his life practicing it both theoretical and practical including his early years in World War 2 and the hidden part of the war that came after. Few mortals can best him and he can give supernaturals a run for their money. Through a complex blend of magics, he has managed to slow his aging but only by so much. He is currently at the age of 100 but only appears to be in his 40s. Even with all his skill though, he has his limits and will eventually tire if forced to keep slinging around lots of magic for hours without preparation or some power source to pull from. He has primarily focused upon the elemental magics with an average control of each over mastery of any one since this allows him to better mix and match to create more interesting reactions. His skills as a Summoner are more focused on Elementals and beings aligned to the elements, but he knows the darker side of summoning as well including demons and the dead so as to better handle them when encountered.

One of the things Julian has learned over time is that one can get by without magic if they use words alone. He's a practice speaker and negotiator after trading words with rare book collectors and beings of power. He likes to consider himself skilled enough in it, having gotten through several situations which would have otherwise considered an intense use of his magics to deal with. At this point, age has shown him the value of talking over direct action all the time since at times you can derail the schemes of some of the greatest evils simply by breaking one of their key minions free of their influence. Many a dark working requires more pieces than just some dark master with great power. Words often enough have proven more powerful there than even a grand working of apocalyptic scale magic.

What came before his silver tongue and arcane might was Julian's first true passion which is research and academics. He is an eternal student and loves to learn things. Some pieces of knowledge are admittedly dark and terrible, but he has always felt the need to understand even the darker things if only to prevent them. After enduring the last World War and the madness of the Cold War, this has held true for him even as he did battle with cults and beings of madness trying to unravel reality. The more current decades have been troublesome for him as the advent of the internet and meme culture have lead to the outbreak of several entities whose images cause trouble, sorrow or madness. Suppression of them has been a far greater challenge and forced him to try new angles to make interest in sharing said images fade away.

Nero.jpg

Name: Nero

Alias: Azazel

Age: 19

Race: Nephilim

Appearance: Despite his 'holier' half, Nero only exhibits some of the same physical attributes associated with angels; he sports the same milky-white hair, delicately handsome facial features and a set of pale, ghostly green eyes that hold a keen sense of curiosity behind them. The years spent toiling away at the land have chiseled his body, though his build still seemed rather slight aside from a broad set of shoulders - the rest of him was somewhat slim and lean. His body was marred with scars and blemishes he'd obtained over the years, and he seemed rather content with hiding them away beneath modest clothing, usually consisting of a pair of slim-fitting trousers and thin, long-sleeved shirts. Aside from the many peculiarities that life had blessed his body with over time, Nero has a series of aberrant red markings spread across his body. They encompass the majority of his torso, only branching off at his neck, shoulders, upper arms and down his thighs, which made them easy to hide aside from where they emerged at his collar. They could easily be mistaken as tattoos, but the subtle glow they emitted beneath his skin when looked at closely would attest to them being anomalous in nature. He has no recollection of how they got there and assumes that he was born with them. Because of his human qualities, he doesn't require the use of Glamour.

566409

  • Skills & Abilities: [Nero is initially going to be unaware of his true origins and believes for the most part that he is purely human, so he is going to be very limited with his powers.]
A life of survival in the wilderness has left him with the innate ability to be acutely aware and perceptive of his surroundings, and the particularly harsh environments of his childhood have granted him a natural resistance to most conditions. He's also learned to traverse most ground efficiently, leading to drastically increased stamina and an extreme aptitude for acrobatics - his lithe figure allows him to move far more quickly and nimbly than anything else his size and shape. What he truly doesn't understand or perceive are the abnormalities of certain situations that he finds himself in; both prey and predatory creatures are typically docile and calm in his vicinity, almost taking an instant liking to him. He's occasionally been able to heal these same creatures without herbs or medicinal plants when they are injured, much to his own surprise and awe. Perhaps the most odd of his displayed tendencies has been the periodic fluctuation of shadows and darkness around him. It more often than not happens at night when the shadows are heavy beneath the trees, and he'd almost swear that they move and writhe when he passed over them. Nero had always passed this off as a trick of the mind, but it's always been something more.

As a religious practitioner, the nephilim can unknowingly perform exorcisms and drive away lesser demonic presences with his own willpower. This faith has passively sharpened and honed his mind against supernatural forces.

In time, Nero will gradually grow into his powers. Azazel, the true name given to him by his father Lucifer and the depiction of his true form, has the ability to warp, meld and control shadows and darkness to his will. These can be offensive or defensive, as the darkness can take on a corporeal or ethereal form. To what extent is currently unknown.

Equipment: The holy blade Ascalon - used to slay a dragon by St. George - was secretly gifted to Nero just before he'd left on his quest by Michael. It's taken on the form of an ornate bronze cross that he wears around his neck at all times, and he has yet to discover it's true nature. When transformed, it can be depicted as a silver sabre or, far more rarely, as a long dual-tipped spear, the blades on both ends made up of the same silver and bronze. The transformation is seemingly random.

No other items can be found on him aside from a small satchel that is always strapped to his hip, filled with various herbs and items that he deemed interesting, and a bible kept within a bag on the other hip. If he ends up in a fight, then he always seeks out an option where he can outwit or maneuver his opponent. Otherwise, he attempts feats of athleticism and flexibility to submit the enemy, as his strength is still similar to a human's.

Name: Aria Pendragon

Race: Hero

Age: 22

Appearance: Aria looks fairly unimposing for a human hero. She is short in stature and while she is lean, she does not appear overly muscular. She wears her fiery red hair short to keep it out of the way during combat. Aria often wears very comfortable clothing that she finds easy to move around in. She can almost always be seen with a small guitar case slung over her shoulder, which houses her most precious treasure, Excalibur.

c725518b8280770bca65ed3a4a7da582.jpg

  • Aria derives all of her abilities from the legendary sword Excalibur. The extent to which she can channel this power is limited to her mental state, concentration, and resolve, and she must be in physical contact with the sword in order to receive its power. When Aria wields Excalibur she gains greater physical strength, speed, agility, toughness, and awareness. She is also a dedicated practitioner of historical European martial art techniques in order to hone her skill with the sword.

The only weapon Aria wields is Excalibur, a legendary semi-sentient sword of power. The sword Excalibur possess an edge that allows it to harm all manner of evil creatures whether they be physical, spiritual, or otherwise, however, Excalibur is incapable of harming a creature with a less than evil heart. Excalibur can only have one chosen hero at a time, and the person is the only one who can wield Excalibur. Excalibur and its hero are inexplicably linked and even when miles away Excalibur’s hero will always know where Excalibur is located. If the sword is picked up by anyone besides its chosen hero they will find the sword to be unbearably heavy. When Excalibur’s chosen hero wields it, they may draw from the nearly infinite mass of power within its blade in order to argument their physical attributes. Excalibur’s hero is only limited by their mental state, concentration, and resolve. The power that is drawn from Excalibur, the brighter the blade will glow. The legendary sword possesses one other power. At the expense of the Hero’s stamina, Excalibur can release a destructive wave of force through its blade at varying levels of power.

The second armament that Aria wields, isn’t a weapon, but a magical artifact. The sheath of Excalibur, Avalon (the true name of the sheath is lost so I made one up) created with the purpose to allow Excalibur’s champion to fight beyond their limits. Avalon possesses minor healing properties, accelerating the rate at which she heals and granting her protection from diseases. Finally, while Aria carries this sheath on she cannot be rendered unconscious except through magical means.

Name: Phillip Myer

Race: Caucasian
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male
Appearance: Phillip is tall, unusually so, with thick shoulders and a powerful frame. Scars, burns and other disfigurements litter his mortal body; all marks of his past lives. A well maintained glamour spell successfully hides his brutish body, tricking those that see him into a more pleasant appearance. Dark hair, white teeth, healthy tanned skin and a youthfully toned body.
One of the most distinguishable features of Phillip are his eyes. Each one constantly change colors, something even glamour magic won't contain. "The eyes are the window to the soul" so they say and with each passing person Phillip sends to the afterlife he retains a portion of their soul. As such Phillip's eyes change consistantly from one color to the next. The eyes of the now dead people whose souls once passed through him. It's easy enough to deceive those mortals who see him by simply saying they're contact lenses. Really, really, expensive contact lenses.

Skills and abilities: Phillip Myer was born from, or the creation of, Thanatos the Greek God of death. Phillip himself still doesn't quite understand his relationship with the minor greek god but after countless lifetimes he's gotten the gist of the story. What is undebatable is the power this relationship has given him. Or in Phillip's eyes, the curse he must live with forever.

As one would imagine being a direct decendent from Thanatos has brought Phillip closer to the doors of death. Far closer than a mere mortal could understand, or even for that matter, more than any immortal could possibly comprehend as death always seems to evade them. Mr. Myers is cursed with the sixth sense, a rare ability to see the dead. An ability that allows him to look and see into other planes of existence. Much like his master, Thanatos, Phillip's tasks are simple: Guide the dying to the afterlife.

As such Phillip has the ability to ease the death of mortals. Like his godly patron Thanatos; Phillip is a "touch" of death, gentle, simplistic and subtle. Soothing their transition from one realm to the next. There is no brutish force to this, no omnipotent power of control. In other words, death is already there, inherent in the individual, Phillip just manifests it and brings it forth.
He does this by inserting his own essence, Thanatoses essence of death, into the being. In the reverse Phillip also has the ability to take death away from an individual, by pulling that essence from them and into himself. A process which is undeniably painful. Imagine soaking up someone's cancer into your own body? Or siphoning the pain from a gunshot wound into ones own soul. It is not easy stuff, and isn't really sidestepped without instant repercussions.

As the saying goes the eyes are the window to the soul. Due to this Phillip must maintain eye contact with the intended target to use this great power, he must filter through this individuals soul, find the part worth saving (or exterminating) and guide it where he pleases. Whether that be this life or the next. There is a transcendent pain that accompanies this process, something beyond mere physical interaction. It is essentially the mergence of two souls into one limitless being. He takes life from a soul, and inserts death in its place or vice versa. As such the two souls, both Phillip's and the others, become one momentarily. Imagine all of the suffering a soul has, all of its pain, happiness, love, anguish and compassion. Now imagine these emotions amplified by the eternity of a souls being. Phillip must navigate these waters everytime he uses the power Thanatos bestowed upon him. This is an extremely exhausting process and the effects almost immediately drain Phillip both mentally and physically.

He can not save everyone everytime however, but there have been cases in Phillip's countless lives where he's even granted immortals the peace they so desperately seek. Death comes for everyone and everything, immortal and mortal alike, Phillip is simply the middle man.

Weapons and equipment: Phillip has a simple silver chain. Its wrapped within powerful glamour magic that cloaks his true form into one being. Not only that but within its metallic craftsmanship lies its true power. The chain is intertwined with countless swaths of pain, illnesses and all the terrible wickedness Phillip has soaked up within himself, from others, resides within his chain. By holding it and uttering an incantation Phillip can essentially pass the fates of one person unto the next. This chain is the conduit of Phillip's power and without it you'd have a very unstable reaction of his power. A few times throughout his many lives Phillip has brought catastrophe to people due to his chain breaking. Once in a past life a plague decimated an ancient greek village, reckless death poured out of his being and afflicted a small population. In other cases Phillip has cursed entire family lines with genetic disorders. Although he is a conduit of death there have been times were he hasn't successfully controlled his "gift" and innocents payed the price. He rarely speaks of these occasions and would have to be pressed to utter them to others.

Weaknesses: Being the embodiment of death most certainly has its flaws. The most familiar in Phillip's life, is his ability to die and go immediately to hell. Phillip is both mortal and immortal, if that makes sense. He lives a mortal life, dies, returns to the afterlife and is judged accordingly by the "Fates" (which he can actually claim ancestory to via his creator Thanatos) who compose a list of all the people he intervened with. Naturally the three Fates despise Phillip, as he is an intermediary between them and their pre-made mortal destinies and his own circumstantial interventions. (If the Fates premade a plan were a child gets hit by a car and dies, and Phillip witnesses this childs fate, Phillip can grant this child a second chance, thus ignoring the Prophetic destiny the Fates gave the child) As such Phillip is almost always cursed to repeat his same destiny over and over again. Only escaping hell and living once more as a mortal through his father/master/creator Thanatos.

Saving lives is easy, but saving lives with the knowledge that you'll burn in hell is much more difficult. It has been this way since Phillip can remember and such is the reason why he denotes his "gift" as a curse.

Which leads Phillip to his second greatest weakness, his ability itself.

After successfully saving a person Phillip takes this person's burdens and cast them unto himself. Although most of the pain is safely sent to his chain, some of the burden lingers. Thus Phillip will often age drastically even over the course of one intervention. His beard could grow, or even grey, over the course of one saving. However after ten procedures it isn't unlikely to see Phillip walk with a limp. (Hence his cane) Or contract a disease, or cough up blood. Although the exact injury or illness is unpredictable there will almost certainly be something negative phillip will be forced to endure. Such is his gift, such is his curse. It's a play of yin and yang, take something and receive another.

Personality: Judge, jury and executioner Phillip carries no small burden. He can heal the injured, make well the sick, bring forth youth into the elderly. It's power of some sort, but it's not totalitarian in nature. Every affliction Phillip cures in another he simply soaks up into himself. Thus healing a broken man, will undoubtedly break Phillip in the long run. Having spent so many lifetimes dealing with the art of death Phillip has naturally become more cynical in nature. Death no longer means so much to him as it once did. A sick child no longer sparks idealistic notions within him. He's not a hero, nor a saint, just a conduit between worlds. It's unfair in his view but why fight the reality. In past lives he'd trade his powers with the wealthy for large sums of money. However he learned his lesson when he did this once for a wealthy feudal lord and got stuck with stage 4 lung cancer, never again did Phillip think money could buy happiness as he died from his inability to breath at the age of 33. That was just one of countless lives.

With money no longer driving him, and idealistic notions of charity or helping the innocent wouldn't justify taking on ammonia or plague. Phillip kind of sank into a pessimistic outlook on life. He's loyal to people, if earned, but not ideals as he's a man of few ideals. Spending an eternity living countless repeat lives you'd think Phillip would be the last person to fear death, however you'd be dead (pun intended) wrong. Phillip has an unnaturally deep fear of death, wanting to avoid death to his very core. That is his death. This fear most likely derives from his fear of the afterlife, or in his case, his constant destiny to reside in hell when he dies. That is until Thanatos frees him again and let's him come back to the world of the living.

To Phillip each time he revisits hell it gets worse (if that's even possible). The three Fates of destiny seem to have it out for Phillip in a bad way. This fear is so deep and ingrained in Phillip it rarely comesforth. It's just always there deep within his psyche.

Goals and motivations: Phillip's most driving factor is his hope to one day be put to rest forever, in peace. No more reincarnation into the same life, with the same curse and ultimately the same fate. In his mind he's come up with the idea that if he serves Thanatos well, guides the dying to the afterlife like he's supposed too, then maybe Thanatos will pity him and bestow upon him a mortal soul once again. This deal has manifested itself into a pact with the God of death himself, thus Phillip's assimilation into the heroes of the story. He's there to make sure death evades the saviors of the world and if he does this he'll finally be given a mortal soul.

Maybe even become a hero himself.

Bio: Thanatos is the God of death, sure, but that's a big realm for one mere deity. And it's not particularly the best domain for a deity to lord over alone. People die all the time and it isn't the most fun occasion. Thus Phillip Myer came into the picture, a creation of Thanatos himself to help aid him in passing souls from one realm to the next. Thanatos bestowed upon Phillip certain abilities to help him better do his job, such as seeing dead people, the passage of illnesses and cures. He granted Phillip these powers at no small price. It took a soul and a blood payment. But of course the gods always used mortals to settle their disputes and as such it was Phillip's soul Thanatos bargained with when the God of death feuded with the three Furies.

You see, Phillip was a check and balance to the three Fates of Greek mythology. Thanatos felt that the three Furies (or Fates) had to much power over the mortal soul. They basically inscribed each mortal with a pre-determined destiny, thus they in an indirect way controlled Thanatos by commanding him to collect the dead in which they prescribed to die. Thanatos felt this to be unfair not only to himself but also to the mortals. Thus he created Phillip, whom at one point had been a mere mortal, but instead of taking his soul to the underworld Thanatos brought it before Zeus himself. There he proclaimed to Zeus that the three Fates had to much power over the lives of mortals. Thanatos claimed he could fix this by placing a mortal soul on earth which would judge mortals through the lenses of a mortal soul. It would give humans the rare ability to escape destiny (Or the Fates). Zeus agreed and as such granted Thanatos the right to create Phillip but Zeus warned the God of death of the consequences for tampering with fate. The Furies would eventually get their payback. Sadly when Phillip was created, he no longer became just mortal. He became also immortal to a lesser degree, as he'd always die and be reborn again into the same body.

In a way Phillip was cursed because of this as it meant he'd always return to the three Fates to be judged. And as Phillip was their only way at getting back at Thanatos the three furies would always punish Phillip in the worst way they could, which seemingly always meant a new experience of hell. Only for him to ultimately be freed when Thanatos eventually returns to hell to free Phillip's soul and return it to the realm of the living. It'd always be this way, for eternity, Phillip's soul being used as a plaything for a godly dispute.

His first real chance to free himself from his curse was given to him in the form of an invitation. He'd accompany a small band of heroes, aid them and keep them alive as they saved the world and Phillip saved his soul.
Hopefully.
(NOTE: Wrote this on mobile, it's late, I'm going to bed. Apologies for auto correct i missed, or grammatical errors. Also I know I'm late to the party, so if the characters no good, or you're already full, I'll understand.)

Name:
Shawn Whitemoon
Race:
Human
Age:
28

Appearance:
585530

Skills and abilities:
He was born with a mind for superior to the normal human complex. He is very attuned to the paranormal and unnatural world around him, and can communicate with recently deceased and to spirits in places of high paranormal activity (burial grounds, mass murder sites, ect). He has also trained his mind to the point that he can use minor amounts of telekinesis, though he can't lift much more than his own body could. Example, if he tried to lift a car his mind would be strained to the point that he would pass out-or if it was a large truck-possibly die.

One of his favorite abilities to use is one that he discovered quite by accident: Hypnosis. Of course, he has no permanent control, he just seems to be able to sound reasonable, even if he is being foolish. It is mere suggestibility, though strong minds find no problem in ignoring his gaze. However, weaker minds who stare into his green eyes find themselves agreeing with him, even if they don't really care what he is talking about.

His most dangerous ability, and certainly the least used, is his ability to inflict harm upon an opponent with his mind. This is an ability he has recently been improving, finding more and more ways to shatter his opponent's consciousness, and to impose his own will of destruction upon their mind. He can be quite dangerous with this, though the farther away he is from his opponent the harder it is for him to get a direct attack.

Weapons and equipment:
Weapons generally aren't his style, though he does carry a small handgun (Glock 17) with him. He also carries various lockpicks to get into places.

Weaknesses:
Well he's a human, so he isn't bulletproof...or anything proof. He might be able to contact the other side, but aside from a good mental fortitude to possession, he can be harmed in any other way. He is also a very poor physical fighter, and relies mostly on threats and his suggestibility to get out of pinches.

Personality:
Despite being this hyperintelligent psychic, he is very sarcastic and childlike in his jokes. He is very friendly, but heavily opinionated and casts judgement upon people rather quickly. He enjoys practical jokes, though it is usually signs of affection towards his friends. He is not afraid to say what he thinks, or perform a task in a strange way to get it done. Most people find him very easy to get along with, despite his constant jokes and lack of maturity. He does get very serious when his family or friends are threatened, and this is generally when he unleashes the darker sides of his gifts. He discovered his "dark side" when his best friend was being bullied at school. After he tried to defend him, but was clearly physically too weak, he stared helplessly as his best friend was beaten by 4 guys. As if in a horror movie, the lead bully began to shake, then grab his head, and as blood poured out of his noes and eyes, until finally he collapsed. This was the first time he discovered his more violent abilities.

Because of this, he spent most of his life in seclusion. Though later in his life he made friends and became very social, there are still dark parts of his soul that he tends to bury and keep a secret, hidden by lairs of immaturity and jokes. It seems that during a full moon, or in more spiritual sites, his mask of happiness is removed, and his more serious side is revealed.

Though he has these gifts, he usually doesn't talk about them with people, and prefers to act like a normal person. If asked about it, he will generally say that he would rather be normal than have these gifts, but at the moment he just makes due with what he has. While he is usually surrounded by groups of friends, it is always in question as to whether he got those friends because of being a good person, or because they looked into his eyes for a bit too long. Still, his charisma is not only fueled by his suggestive mind waves, but from a strange ability to connect with people and make them laugh. How he learned this was only through observation, but apparently had a knack for connecting with people, assuming they don't know of his gifts.

Goals and motivations:
He seeks to explore why he was given these gifts, and despite often not wanting them, he does want to see how far he can take them, and how powerful his mind can truly become.

Bio:
Shawn lived a very normal life...at first. He went to school, made friends, dated girls; but despite going through life and enjoying himself, he was always nagged at by a strange sensation that seemed to go on in his head. He'd hear voices, see people that weren't there- all the stereotypical spirit mumbo jumbo. At first he thought he was crazy, but when he started knowing things that he shouldn't know- like telling what went down in another room or knowing exact casualty rates in accidents (because he could sense the spirits), he started to wonder if he wasn't crazy, but gifted. As any curious child would, he explored his abilities and tried to find fun ways to use them. He was able to get good grades in school because of them, and he was able to sneak around and learn much about the world as he explored his gifts. But unfortunately, the world didn't always look kindly on those who had his type of mind.

He developed ways to use this ability (to the general discomfort of those who were close to him), finding ways to ask spirits for knowledge that he otherwise shouldn't know. In this way, he could pass history tests, cheat on math exams, and move test pages up slightly so that he could copy. Of course, he was smart enough to just study and get good grades, but he found it much more entertaining to cheat. However, many people found him disturbing, and his strange powers and their development took a toll on his social growth. Instead of interacting as he grew up, he watched, and learned, and honed his mind.

By the time he got to college he had mastered his abilities and became an expert at using them without appearing to- making him look normal. His college years were his glory years, where he built new connections and friendships that he had lacked growing up. He was generally popular, and very well liked in his friend groups. He bounces around from city to city, trying to find others that might be like him, or ways to increase his gifts. After realizing simple city searches wouldn't be enough, he decided to move his search to a global scale. Now he searches the world trying to find more like him, and ways to grow in power.

Name: Pele

Alias: Maliyah

Race: Hawaiian Goddess

Age: immortal, appears 21

Appearance:

Maliyah’s appearance is similar to typical residents of Hawaii, with her waist length and erratic black curls (with a single fire lily that is always found in her hair) and a dark-coppery skin tone. She has piercing amber eyes which paired with her other sharp facial features, have made people feel quite intimidated, yet in awe of her natural beauty. Her stature may be short but her figure is naturally curvaceous, with her being the goddess of dance and coming from the land that originated the hula dance, in which she sometimes incorporates during combat. Clothing wise, she is preferable towards revealing gowns of red, amber and yellow, with her being a naturally confident character when it comes to her appearance. However, she holds incredibly harsh burn marks that scatter the palms of her hands, and when pointed out she becomes very insecure, which flares up her anger.

Skills and abilities:

Her fire abilities are largely based off of her own skills in hand to hand combat, for example if she punches she can summon fire more easily.
Due to her role as the goddess of volcanoes, she can summon very minor earthquakes in urban environment (10ft radius). This is usually done by stamping her feet or shaking her hips, but it’s very tiring.
Can make the earth around her molten and shift into lava, again this is a small radius and its effectiveness is often dependent on the type of material her surroundings, is affected by wet weather.
Great with blades or more specifically daggers and knives, has many fighting styles with them and sees it as an art.
Skilled in hand to hand combat from many years of fighting both monsters and her family.

Weapons and equipment:

  • Many daggers
  • Throwing knives
  • Hula hoop

Weaknesses:

Being doused continually with water makes it harder for her to use her fire powers and makes her more vulnerable, also emotionally reclusive and begin to slow physically.
The effect of the cold makes her uncomfortable and again harder to use her powers as she thrives in the heat, however this is only extreme cold and ice.
Since she is a Goddess, she cannot harm humans even if they are malevolent and rotten to the core. Even though she wants to protect humanity it’s very infuriating sometimes.
Too angry too quickly, anger over rules judgement and although she tried to not let her emotions overtake her they can and will when she’s angry. Slight anger issues.
A lei that has 14 flowers that she wears when she feels comfortable, if touched, grabbed, mentioned, she will instantly be on the defence.
Questioning of the burns on her hands are an easy way to make her insecure.
Without the use of her body and channeling her powers through movement, sometimes they are harder to control.

Personality:

Maliyah is intensely ambitious, competitive and confident, and will go above and beyond to get what she wants- no matter what it takes- which has caused a strain in a lot of her past relationships. Because of this nature, she is also absurdly hot headed and consequently stubborn, and if something remotely irritating that isn’t apart of her plan occurs, then her rage will quickly start to build and she will release her wrath upon anything that is around her, if it be her surroundings, or the people around her. She is usually a strategic planner, but if her anger overcomes her she will become impulsive and not level headed, making her stop reflecting on her actions and just do what feels right in the moment.

Although she is a goddess of a calamity, she is not as loud and boisterous as stereotyped, and she is introverted and independent, preferring to follow her own whims until trust is gained, this doesn’t necessarily mean she is a lone wolf, as she does strive to build friendships. However she will still be wary of strangers- to an extent. Maliyah will take no nonsense from anyone as she is fully aware of what she wants and of her own opinions. If she believes in something, she will not back down, and will remain stubborn. Often, she has a good judge of character, and her relationships can be deemed on her initial thoughts on the person. Even though she makes judgements on people, her opinions are not altered by appearance or race, and she is a very open-minded person.
Once she opens up to someone, they will see that she has become a more playful and light hearted person. To an extent, she will put her own goals on the line for

Goals and motivations:

Since she’s a goddess of destruction and creation she seeks balance in the world, and will do whatever she can to sustain a world she’s grown to love.
Protecting humanity in whatever way she can as she’s grown protective due to her culture and many years of worship.

Bio:

Pele is the goddess of Fire and Dance, of Volcanoes and Violence. Those who worship Pele speak of her as Madame Pele or Tutu Pele, while others know her as Ka wahine ‘ai honua, ‘the woman who devours the land’. Though she is capable of great acts of destruction, and possesses the temper to provoke such acts, Pele is both destroyer and creator. It was through her mastery over the world's molten core that she wrought the Hawaiian Islands into being, forging them from the lava that ruptured forth from the mouths of her volcanoes. They are places of immense beauty, lush and brimming with life, and by looking upon and revelling in such beauty, you offer Pele worship.

Pele is one of the fourteen children, seven sisters and seven brothers. It is from the enmity between these siblings that Pele arrived in Hawaii, after her exile at the hands of Kane Milohai for her fiery temper and conflict with her sister Namakaikahai, Pele wrought Hawaii into a paradise, making her home within the great calderas of the volcanoes that stand sentinel across the island chain.

To worship Pele is to grant one's devotion to a goddess of terrible power, one who can shape and render a grand, vibrant world into being at her slightest whim, and burn it to ashes just as quickly. But just as her worshippers are devoted to Pele, she devotes herself to them as a force of divine protection and care. She is a tireless defender of life, and any that seek to threaten what she stands for shall surely taste Pele's fire.
