I never knew how to start these things off so I'll get right to the point, and as you begin reading, if I haven't made myself sufficiently clear on something, just give me a nudge.
Summary:
It's a few decades in the future, and the Western Man is a proud but tragic figure because, while he strives and creates, he secretly knows the actual goal will never be reached. He yearns towards distance and infinity, finding inspiration in the concept of infinitely wide and profound space, but in doing so the Western people feel increasingly fragmented and isolated. Most governments, too, distance themselves from their people, practicing laissez-faire politics while the sun of their civilization sets quietly. A peaceful, somewhat melancholy end to it all before something new takes hold.
Stuck in this transition is Qian San-xiang, a Chinese girl of twenty-one who operates the family's china box stall on one of the big cities' shopping streets, but who dreams of studying and making friends. Such things are difficult when you don't speak the native language, however, and with strict parents who expect one to take over the business one day it makes it almost impossible.
Then one fateful day everything changes...
And that's all, folks. If you don't wanna deal too much with the world situation that's a-ok, mostly this should focus on more personally conflicting themes anyway.
