"That's great. I love alternative music. I'm even a big fan of heavy metal, but I don't expect you to be into that too," she told him. When he offered to play something for her in the future, she nodded her head and smiled. "I would really like that, Miles," she told him. Her smile faded a little as she processed that he spoke of the potential of them bumping into each other again. They were at a party now and he only had this evening to judge her on. She could pretend to be cool or popular right now, but once they were in school he would see who she really was. In school, she was just a poor uncool outcast, even in the Westside. She expected that would become even worse when she started to share a school with the beautiful and rich Eastsiders. She dreaded having to be around her former bullies. "Obviously, I won't hold you to playing for me next time. If you hadn't realised already, I'm not exactly Miss Popularity. My friends are geeks and Goths, so I'd completely understand if you avoid me in school," she reassured him. "At least we've had a good time tonight, yeah?"

When Clary left to tend to her brother, Chase gave her a simple wave. It would remain to be seen how she would act around him once they were in the same school. He then turned to Tatiana and smiled. He figured he'd had as much to drink as he wanted and he was pretty much ready to just go home. "It's been a pleasure, Tatiana," he told her giving her a friendly squeeze of the arm. "I'm going to head off home while I'm still standing upright," he told her. He glanced over to his car that was parked up and was happy to see it tucked away safely enough for him to feel comfortable leaving it there overnight. He then called for a cab on his cellphone before rushing back inside to find his sister.
As he got back inside, he could see a couple of his friends staring daggers at him. He sent them an expression that invited them to come over and say something if they were so bothered, but they simply looked away. He knew exactly which friends would takes sides over the argument, but he was sure he could talk them round once everyone was sober and it was a new day. He noticed Abigail sat amongst his friends, looking completely out of her head. He wasn't surprised, considering after throwing up her meal earlier she'd essentially been drinking on an empty stomach. As awkward as it was walking in the middle of his friends' group, he was motivated by wanting to get his sister home safely. The last thing he wanted was her going home with the wrong guy. He thanked a couple of his female friends for looking out for Abigail before giving a quick apology for not catching up with them all night and said they'd catch up later.
Chase then helped Abigail outside into the fresh(ish) air whilst they waited for the cab to arrive to take them home.
