Lily glanced through the window, letting her eyes wander of the smaller houses of the town. Making her think how tiny those humans actually were. They were minor in almost everything, they were not that strong, fast nor intelligent than most other vampires who were roaming the earth. Of course, they would try to fend her kind of but it almost never worked as many of her species survived the attacks and even striked back. Yet that news was kept in silence, not letting it spread to the outside world as they would attack the smaller towns first, raising less suspicion among the population. If only there was a bigger threat that could amuse her for even the slightest bit, that would be almost like a miracle.

With a sigh, she jumped of the edge and made a careful landing on the ground behind the walls of the castle-like mansion. It was almost time for her to go outside as the sun was setting, maybe only taking another few minutes before it completely disappeared and the time for the moon to reappear. The corners of her mouth turning upwards as she thought about being able to get outside again. She could not have enjoyed the previous encounters with humans since she had only arrived the previous night and even then she could not go wandering around since the sun was going up. Her eyes started sparkling as she walked towards the gate.

Kuroda quickly said her farewells to the cemetery care takers, and with amotion of her hand was off sprinting away from them. She'd been helping the care-takers since the traditional carnival was in town for two days now, leaving no school to Kuroda. Kuroda forgot about time and didn't even notice it was late until she could barely see the sun in the distance. Unfortunately for Kuroda her house was practically on other side of town, it was all too perfect, as if in a horror flick where they introduce the killer by killing a character in a cliche kind of way. Not only that, it seemed a sickness of sort was spreading around, it even got Kuroda's father just a week ago. Kuroda was still in deep mourning, she didn't even notice anything wrong with him until he was deceased.

Kuroda ran through the carnival, where the small markets were closing up. However, the lights that were still lit brought her some kind of comfort, making he slow down a bit, easily distracted by the decorations. She let out soft puffs as she left the carnival area, walking into the residence district. She was going to be late even if she ran as fast as she coud, so Kuroda instinctivly slowed down a bit, only walking at a quick pace.

As the doors of the gates were being opened by the owners of the castle-like mansion, her smile grew even wider as she felt the breeze carressing her face. The sky of the night welcoming her as if she was its lost child. Her hair swayed upon the wind as she moved forward together with some other vampires who had taken an interest in going outside today, despite people probably staying inside. Though there always could be exceptions as there was not a real curfew, so the ones that were late often needed to pay the price for doing so. Or they could get killed by a vampire or they had to hide throughout the night and try to make it their way back home. It was always interesting to see people running their hardest once they spotted one of the creatures of the night. Though she had to admit that some of them indeed looked a bit scary...

As Lily walked down the road of the town, she let her eyes roam over the several little houses which were standing alongside the street. The doors and windows were closed, and here and there were some lights that were still on. Sometimes even hearing the laughter of people who were looking at some funy program on television and some were probably already asleep. But then, when she spotted a figure in the distance, who did not seem to be one of the vampires, she received a different expression on her face. Not being the jolly person like before, but a more animal-like being who was watching her prey walking in front of her.

After quick pacing for a while, Kuroda had somehow made herself feel lost. She wasn't lost though, she'd lived her for all her life, knew the town like her back hand. But her brain convinced her "this was the day she was going to die". Too many horror movies. "No way!" She thought of loud, her voice squeaking a bit. She frowned a bit as she jogged, spinning around every third second, searching for something more familiar than the regular pattern of the same looking houses, the only difference being how the car looked, or where they placed their bikes. Though really, it was a boring and easy-to-get-lost place, Sotoba.

Kuroda smiled to herself as she saw a landmark. the "landmark" was really just a big hole in the ground, but no one had fixed it, or even tried. Even if it was just a hole, it was distinctively familiar since she walked past it every day. On her way to school or to the market. It was the safest way, not that Sotoba was usually unsafe. Well up until now that is. Really this epidemic scared her no end.

Kuroda smiled a bit as she was her house in the distance. It was by far the most run down house of all in her area, surviving through two fires and many leaks.

Lily followed in the girl her footsteps after having a shock at the sudden outburst of the girl which was actually funny if you thought back about it. Easily making her way behind her, though making sure to hide in the darker spots of the road so it was less easy to be seen by anyone else. Barely holding her laughter as if this was some kind of chase game that she was playing but then a bit different as this was not really a game but more a hunt. Her body moved swiftly as she made her way toward where the girl was running. Until the other stopped in her tracks as she seemed to notice something familiar.

Feeling a bit sad that the game was already over though she could always make it even more interesting than it already was. Letting out a sigh as she came from behind another house and waved towards the girl. "Hello~" She almost sang, her voice cute but yet creepy by the way she moved around. Her eyes were widely open but not to the point that it would be overdramatically. That would just be plain weird. She huffed and dusted of her clothes. "You ran pretty fast there."

Kuroda flinched, her heart stopping for a moment as she heard a voice. The voice was gentle, but something about it made the hair on her neck stand on end. She turned to face the source, and was quickly met with a pale firl. "Pale" is an understatement, her skin was incredibly white, almost so it looked grey in the shadows, giving the girl a faint glow. When standing in the shadows, one could mistake it for a corpse. But what truly struck at Kuroda's nerves we're the dark eyes. Almost completely black, but when Kuroda looked at them a second time, she noticed a crimson rim around the pupil. The girls eyes seemed to be fixated onto Kuroda, slightly widened. Her mind raced to find a logical explanation to theabnormal appearence, but nothing came to mind except "contacts", but why would somone wear both glasses and contacts?

She gulped a bit, taking some light steps back. Even if the girl didn't seem normal, she didn't want to offend her by just running away or anything of the sorts. The way she was talking was the most unsettling; the part that really mademher heart race, had the girl followed her? Watched her? Pranks aren't very known to happen in Sotoba, and if they happen it's more something like "jumping out in front of someone and screaming 'boo'". "Who are you?" She asked, clasping her chest as she narrowed her eyes at the girl skeptically.

Lily found it amusing by the way this girl was reacting to her appearance. Indeed she had a rather interesting skin colour which almost seemed like snow had melted onto her skin, blending in together. And her eyes were indeed a little more disturbing as they almost had no colour, only black circle holes where here eyes were supposed to be. Yet the rim of red, which took on the colour of roses, indicated that she still could see clearly. As the girl seemed to think about something, Lily tilted her head to the side, wondering what was going on inside of the other her head. It was enjoyable to try to guess which explanation they tried to come up with as vampires were only myths for as far as they know. But the opposite was the truth as they were very real.

As the girl stepped back, Lily automatically stepped forward. Like a kid who was doing the same movements as her parents while they were growing up. As she heard the question of the girl, she could not help but to smile at her since she used to hear the word 'what' more than 'who'. "My name is Lily, and you are?" She asked, noticing the other clasping her chest which meant that she was doubting to run for it or just freeze on the spot. It was always one of the two though the best chance to escape from her grip was to probably run for it.

Kuroda grimaced horribly as the girls footsreps followed hers as she stepped back. Kuroda felt herself leaning back, glancing over her shoulder as to look for a way to run, even if she already knew. When she looked back Kuroda flinched seeing a smile on the girls lips. Like her voice, the girls voice seemed innocent enough at first, but something baout it sung the notes of death, making the hair raise. She gulped a bit, as leaned out even further as she listened to the girls voice again, the context seemed innocent enough but the whole "her" was just unnerving to Kuroda.

She took a couple steps to the side, making easier access to the path she could "escape" on. Truth is, Kuroda didn't want to tell "Lily" her name. But it was only fair, she knew "Lily" was her name after all. A name isn't too personal, hopefully. She dug her nails into her chest as she tensed. "I'm Kuroda." She said in a quiet tone, the ring to her voice harping. She wondered who this girl truly was though, she had never seen her before, and she knew almost everyone in the area, you'd think they'd atleast be familiar, but her appereance was anything but familiar. She hadn't heard of any new residences, except for those "Kirishiki" people up in the Kanemasa mansion.

The girl called Kuroda, seemed to be even more on edge now. Noticing the other her eyes going from left to right as it seemed like she was searching for an escape route. That would be one of the smartest ways to attempt to get rid of Lily as she was not really fond of doing too much exercise, trying to catch her within a time limit was mostly her mind-set. People were also more on edge since the little outbreak which already killed a lot of the townsfolk in the city, maybe already a fifth of them went under because of it. It was not something fun to see, even for the vampires as they did not know if they would wake up again or not.

She tapped her fingers against her hips, scraping her throat a little as she was thinking about what she could do the girl. Maybe let her go and come back another time. It would be quite stressful as the other would know that it was dangerous at night. Yes, that was what she was going to do to her. Maybe becoming even more frightened was more enjoyable than just dealing with her right there at the spot. Making sure that she would give her target to the 'boss' of the vampires. Her eyes flickering as she walked closer as one of the lights were shining upon her.

Kuroda slowly shuffled her way backwards as silence dotted the place, holding her breath, waiting for something to shift the air. Kuroda mumbled lowly under her breath, rubbing her palm against her collar bone before lightly tapping on it. The air felt strangling, as if the deafening silence wasn't enough. She avoided looking at Lily's face, scared to meet her gaze, everytime she did it felt like she wasn't on earth anymore, just elsewhere, floating, but still. By now, she didn't know if she was more or less creeped out compared to first appearence, but she knew she wanted to get out of the situation, and never see this girl again.

She shuffled a bit again, before speaking up. "It was, uh, nice meeting you, but, I'll be late home ..-" Without finishing her sentence she bolted to the side, feeling subtle eyes watching her. From there on she didn't dare look back, nor did she pay attention to any potential sounds, her mind was paralized as her limbs moved on her own, her mind doubted her ability to see even if everything seemed clear as day. By now she didn't care fi she was going to be late home, she wanted to get home and feel the false safety of warm blankets and thin walls. Even so, people didn't even lock their houses in Sotoba, even during night, which included Kuroda's residence.

As the girl said that she would be late at home, Lily nodded toward her in response, her smirk not disappearing at all as the other ran away from her. However, Lily looked after her in order to see which house was hers. It indeed looked like she was some stalker, but that was not really it. You could see it as her playing with a toy like kids do. Except there is more thrill in this one as she actually has to do something and chase after her target. Already starting to get excited as she started to imagine how it would be the next few days as she had no intention of letting that girl go so easily.

The wicked person that Lily was, could be terrifying sometimes without her even knowing so. It happens mostly unconsciously as her mind is so occupied with one person that she would try to make the 'hunt' as enjoyable as she can. Some people that got bitten by her and returned back to 'life' still have some fear inside of them as it was indeed creepy by the way she stalked her prey. With some it was worse than with others as she tends to change her method from time to time to keep the action in it. The adrenaline that was supposed to rush through her veins. A light chuckle escaped from her mouth as she looked at the other intensely.

Kuroda was halfway to her door when her lungs started burning, every pant having the same value of a paper cut, and as she forced herself onward the dry feeling became a dessert on a hot day. Kuroda however was focused on cursing herself for never paying attention in P.E., or rather, cursing herself for not moving if she didn't have to. "Lazy" wasn't the correct word for it, simply something in between. However "in between" did not feel enough in this situation. She came to abruptly halt when her hand was just grazing the handle, daring to looking back, just a bit.

Nothing. Just the long dark distance breathing coldly onto her neck. Kuroda shivered, her hand searching for the door handle as she kept her gaze behind her. Her hands finally found it's way onto the handle, gripping it and pushing it down, but it stopped there. Kuroda's gaze was still fixated on the distance, still waiting for something to just pop out. Like a pair of glowing red eyes or a mad killer with an axe. It didn't feeld right, but Kuroda ended up pushing the door open, making her way inside as she did. Then, and only then, her eyes were taken off the distance. The soft light from inside engulfed most of the girl, leaving only her back exposed to the darkness. She felt her shoulders slope. 'Disappointed?', she thought to herself. Although, that oughta be impossible, who would want to get killed? Even with a deathwish, fear and reflexes would take over.

She caught her mother staring at her, scolding her for the lateness of her arival, but the look she saw also showed some tint of relief, thanking an unseen force that Kuroda was home safely. Kuroda's mom had lost her temper since her father passed away, her mother has been still, 'tired'. Kuroda wanted to smile and apologize for being late, but the action seemed that much harder with previous events still in mind. She finally met eyes with her mom, signaling that she was going to say something, sucking in some fresh air to fuel her words.

"I'm going to bed."
She announced. Although that was not what she wanted to say. She brushed past her mom before either of them could utter anything else. Sleep had never seemed to important before. Who knew fear was such a draining emotion? The lights in her room were already turned off, like an invitation for Kuroda to just fall on the bed with no second thoughts. So, that's just what she did, letting herself fall into the cold embrace of slumber.
