My Interest Check
Klara Eichel

Klara had never expected that the bard she had befriended was her own nation's Archon. She'd heard rumors that Kimaris took a human form to watch over Mondstadt and experience the city that their predecessor loved so dearly for themselves, but never did she suspect that she'd know them personally!

In times less tense, Klara would be overjoyed to be let in on such a secret. The way things were, however, she could not afford that luxury, for the only reason she knew was because of the Abyss Order's new leader and the threat she brought to Teyvat.

Stealing free will, trying to take the power of visions, it was totally unacceptable! So, naturally, when Tanja came out as the Archon of Mondstadt and explained that she and the other Archons planned to form the Celestial Council to fight back, Klara was on board! Admittedly, she wasn't a fighter, so she ended up taking the position of secretary. Any and all paperwork, checking people in and making sure they aren't under the Abyss Order's control, and helping to plan missions was all within her skillset, and they'd definitely need someone to manage home base while the others were out investigating and fighting. It might not seem important to some, but Klara was adamant her job would prove instrumental in the long run.

Today was the day, the day that everything came to fruition. Today would be the first meeting of the Celestial Council.

Klara took a deep breath, psyching herself up. While she'd heard whispers of a domain being thrown around, today's meeting would be taking place within the Church. She'd stationed herself outside, checking everyone's visions. The Archons had already gathered inside, waiting for her to allow the allogenes inside.

With every check-in, she made sure that their visions and hands were not marked, and then told them to head inside and wait for the things to progress, and that they were free to mingle amongst themselves. Klara made sure to stop herself from mentioning places in Mondstadt they should visit while they were here - that could wait until the Abyss Order was defeated.

When Klara had finished checking everyone in, she slipped inside the Church. Any stragglers for this first meeting would have to wait and get a briefing later.

Tanja Windenburg

Green eyes swept over the crowd gathered in the cathedral, and Tanja took a deep breath. To address so many people as Kimaris was admittedly a little nerve wracking. Nevertheless, she had to, for the greater good of Teyvat.

“Greetings everyone. I am Kimaris, Anemo Archon of Mondstadt, and also known as the bard, Tanja Windenburg. Thank you all for coming to the first meeting of the Celestial Council!” she began, eyes continuing to scan the crowd. “I'm very happy to see such a big turn out, that so many of you are willing to fight for Teyvat. Some of you may have been personally affected by the Abyss's actions, and some of you simply want to prevent it from happening. Whatever your reasons, we are glad to have you.”

She took a moment to pause, to think about what to say next. She was never good with speeches, she let her music do all the talking for her, captivating an audience with its sound, with the emotion behind it. But to write lyrics and poetry, to turn this into a ballad would take away from the severity of the situation. So Tanja had refrained. It was much easier to write and follow lyrics than a speech though, in her opinion.

But Tanja had to carry on. So she did. “This will not be an easy or glorious task. You might get hurt. You might die. Even knowing this, do you still want to stand beside us? To do what is right? If so, we gladly welcome you. If not, you are free to leave now. Soon, we'll talk about our first missions, but if any of my fellow Archons have things they'd like to say, please permit them to.”

Tanja glanced at the other Archons, as if asking them if they had anything to say for themselves. She took a step back, allowing them to take the reins if they so desired.

THE PYRO ARCHON
Zuma

Upon arriving, Zuma was shocked by the lax nature of Mondstadt. More specifically, how... calm things are. At least as calm as things can be with thefemalezuma.jpg amount of people uniting at the church. Upon approach, people open a path for them, as they make their way inside.

I've never seen so many visions in one place. This historical meeting is attracting all kinds of passionate people, how fascinating! They think, looking around at those with visions, wondering what about them had made them earn those visions, especially those with pyro visions. There's no doubt in their mind, with this many vision bearers meeting like this alongside the archons, there would be spectators. Of course, they expected fatui prescense, but that's not what they were thinking of.

The heavenly principles.

There's no doubt that they'll be paying attention to what happens in this meeting. It was enough that they had initially hesitated to come to this meeting, but this could potentially be something bigger than them, and something they could play a critical role in, especially if the other archons are in attendance. Either way, abyss, fatui, or whoever would not be foolish enough to attack a building full of archons, vision bearers, and other powerful people from their respective nations, like the adepti. Upon Tanja's speech, they can't help but think that these are the kinds of things you say to soldiers on a battlefield. Whether it's being presented as it or not, this is war. Upon the invitation to speak, they stay quiet, their eyes becoming a bit more serious.

Anaphora Purnata
Favonius Cathedral

Anaphora softened her footsteps as she stepped into the Favonius Cathedral. Before looking for a seat, she shuffled off to the side and admired the inside for a bit. The stained glass windows were quite to her liking, particularly the way they shone in colours besides the same four or five shades of blue sported by the ones in the Akademiya. The rays of light that peered through them brought back nostalgic memories of brisk mornings in Vimara Village, although it had only been just over a week since she left Sumeru.

She'd scheduled her trip so that she'd arrive more or less a day early, but ended up getting there only the night before the Council's meeting. That meant she'd had almost no time to visit many of the establishments within Mondstadt City, barring the 'Heart of Protection' Tavern that luckily had a room open for her to stay in for the night. She silently hoped for an opportunity to peruse the 'Favonius Library' sooner rather than later.

Besides some of the Archons, the only person that Anaphora could identify was the General Mahamatra (there were actually a few faces that she could recognize, but she couldn't pin down their source). She'd never had a personal encounter with him. But just about every Akademiya student under the sun seemed to use negative adjectives to describe him. Well, to be fair, meetings between scholars and the Matra that ended well were almost unheard of. Her word of choice was 'prankish', which she felt was succinct and neutral enough. Even then, engaging in gossip that wasn't centered around the latest and greatest research projects felt bad-mannered. The point was that any student at the Akademiya approaching the Matra for reasons other than ratting out classmates might have had a screw or two loose.

Creak, went the church's pew as Anaphora sat next to Shtayim.

The way only one person's voice echoed throughout a room full of people reminded her of the extrance exams at the Akademiya. But Anaphora was not oblivious to the nature of the Celestial Council. She had long been aware that physical altercation under these circumstances was unavoidable.

It wasn't like she was sickly, or even out of shape - she'd made the trip from Sumeru to Mondstadt walking most of the way after all, and there was no soreness in her legs. Her daily routine of walking to Sumeru City from Vimana Village had built her up. But when it came to profiency as a 'combatant', she was unversed. Anaphora had staved off small groups of hilichurls before, but repelling hilichurls was different from... well, killing them. And even if she did have experience fighting monsters, it would be nothing like fighting another human.

The check-in process seemed a bit shallow to her. The only two requirements, it seemed, were ownership of a Vision and being 'unmarked', as it was called. She suspected that there might be some kind of test for them to pass before they were really accepted into the Council. Anaphora considered herself quite studious, but even pop quizzes scared her. Still, would a test like that be measuring brute strength, or something else? If there was no test of this kind, and the Archons really were willing to accept anyone with a Vision, that implication was somewhat unsettling. If the seven Archons combined weren't enough to tackle this problem, what good would adding a bunch of humans to the force do, whether they were Vision holders or not?

She sighed, louder than she had wanted. Maybe she was overthinking things. If she had already been accepted into the Council, no strings attached, that made things easier for her. As if a human could grasp the mind of a god. Perhaps you actually didn't need very much people to screw in an Archon-sized lightbulb. The 'how' of overcoming this threat had yet to be explained to them, anyways.

A lump had subconciously formed in her throat, and Anaphora forced it down. It didn't matter what she had to do; she was determined to be here, to stay here. All for the sake of her dream. It wasn't a purely altruistic dream, which caused some pangs in her chest during the latter half of the Anemo Archon's speech. Once there was a short period of downtime, she began to strike up a conversation with the Sumerian beside her. This wasn't the Akademiya. She had no reason to be afraid of the Matra. Acting friendly was a no-brainer. Despite her awareness of these facts, the smile on her face was slightly nervous.

Anaphora gently leaned to the side to get within Shtayim's peripheral vision. "Hello, General Mahamatra." She spoke in a hushed whisper as to not disturb others while pressing her fingertips together. She underlined her words with sarcasm, getting only the slightest bit serious at the end. "It's a bit surprising to see you here in Mondstadt, considering how duteous you are. You're not here to chase after me specifically, ahahaha... are you?"

Shtayim
Lounging on a pew Shtayim let out a short huff and tipped his head back to admire the high vaulted ceiling of cathedral. He'd spent the entire journey across half of Teyvat trying to dig up any clue on his sister's whereabouts to no avail, while he had been content to remain settled in Sumeru city Shalosh had never let go of their nomadic origins and receiving an education in the heart of the Nation of Knowledge had only inflamed her wanderlust. He'd had a constant niggling worry about her even before the invasion of otherworldly forces not helped by her stubbornness when it came to "not needing a minder" causing her to make hiding her movements from him a competition.

Both feeling and hearing someone take a seat next to him an ear flicked in their direction and he gave his new neighbour a glance that lingered for a moment longer as he realised she was clearly also from Sumeru but he couldn't immediately place her despite a slight sense of familiarity though he expected many in the Akademiya would have killed for even that level of anonymity. Lifting a hand in greeting he returned his gaze to architectural appreciation as he tried to place the woman, after a couple of minutes he finally recalled innocuously seeing her in his alum of Spantamad rather than anywhere more ominous.

Sitting through the Anemo Archon's rather heavy speech he glanced at his companion as she nervously spoke up, he turned to her with a smile that would have been entirely friendly if not for the slight smirk at her concern. "I'm quite certain neither your name nor your face have crossed my desk, though as your senior in Spantamad I must admit I don't recall the former."

Nikolai

Capitano

Perhaps it was a testament to the sheer danger of this new threat was the presence of the Fatui at this meeting.

Even moreso that both the Tsaritsa and Nikolai were attending instead of one or the other. It carried a somewhat foreboding sense across some Fatui members as they stayed in their respective dormitories and bases, waiting for the next order. Whether it was to continue with their more secretive operations or to venture down the path of this new "Celestial Council" to rid of Teyvat of the threat of the Abyss Order.

Regardless, Nikolai focused back on the current events. Despite a few protests, he had loyally followed the Tsaritsa into the venue before letting the other allogenes enter. He had presented his own vision and his hand to prove that his skin and ambition were both unmarred by the Order's influence; not that he had allowed them anywhere near his own body for them to do so.

Still, he made himself scarce from the other Archons, keeping to himself and following his master without uttering a single word. He counted on the other Harbingers to attend the meeting, but he would not force them to do so. They must come out of their own will— he knew of one who would come due to the Abyss's wrongs against her, but he did idly wonder if the other Harbingers would have more reason beyond their duty to the Tsaritsa to involve themselves in such a noble cause such as the Celestial Council. However, he doubted the reception would be all that stellar. Even he was aware that the Fatui's reputation had taken quite a plummet in recent decades. Perhaps that was the most amusing fact out of it all— that they are here to aid the efforts of the Council.

The Anemo Archon— Kimaris, or Tanja, whichever she preferred— continued on with her speech once the other vision holders had been allowed entrance. For a moment, he felt lost in the nostalgia of it all, of memories coming forth unbidden, of a time long, long past. Kimaris had not been the first Anemo Archon but the original's face eluded him, as time eroded memories. He tuned back to the present, eyes roaming across the other Archons to see if they had something to say as Kimaris backed away before settling on his own Archon, wondering if she had any comments to make to appease everyone of their... cooperation with this council.

Kazuya and Kaguya Arasaka
Kazuya.pngKaguya.png
Kazuya, who had spent the past year in Mondsadt, was already familiar with not only the area, but the church as well. During that past year, he had spent his time exploring and meeting the locals of the region, having set up a small camp near the big tree in windrise, sleeping on one of the high brances of it. He had taken a liking to the tree. As a spritually aware individual, the energy the tree had was rather comforting, like a cool breeze on a summer day. The tree itself was a source of investigation for him as well, as he theorizes the nature and source for the tree. The tree was also just a walk away from mondstadt, which made it a convenient distance, even for today.

Today was hist first time meeting his sister since he left a year ago, and while they had been keeping in touch via cards, he was still excited to see her sister. They agreed to meet at the big tree, where they briefly went over their plan. They intended to make their way into the meeting... unofficially. However, they were not foolish enough to think they could just sneakily spy over a room full of the most powerful figures in Teyvat, including their own archon. All they needed was to make their way in without being registered at the entrance, staying off the books. However, Kaguya was too big of a figure to blend in, so the idea for her became [Sneak in, Kazuya blends in, Kaguya tries to stay hidden for as long as she can. The instant she feels she's about to be discovered or feels that it's too risky, she snaps her fingers and takes the spot of a nearby replica on the ground outside of the church.] With the plan set, they head out.

Kaguya had come to Mondstadt alone, having her right hand man cover for her back in Inazuma. She was happy to see Kazu, giving him a good, long hug on arrival. Still, they had a job to do. They could catch up later. It's a shame she probably wouldn't be able to hear most the meeting in person, but it's probably for the better they aren't on record. After the meeting, they can wander around and interact as they please.

Coming up to the church, they waited for the coast to clear as people swarm inside, before Kazu uses a vine to climb up the side of the church, carrying Kaguya up with her. Kaguya leaves a replica behind, having it hide nearby for an emergency exit. When they make their way in, Kaguya hides near the ceiling, staying behind an arch, under a shadow. Kazuha on the other hand, finds a less area of people before making his way down and blending in, excited to see the coming together of the archons, which he would hopefully meet individually sooner or later. Particularly, he wants to meet the dendro archon, but he has yet to go to Sumeru.
