It was a lovely Friday night at the Queen household. The family's staff was doing some last minute preparations for the dinner party that they were hosting tonight. The family's staff has come through, preparing another perfect dinner party. The bartender was in place, along with the butler offering champagne at the door, and more butlers awaited in the parlor to pass hors d'oeuvres. Rebecca stood in an elegant evening gown by her mother as they awaited their guests. The youngest Queen loved dinner parties, she was like her mother that way. She always wanted to put the best foot forward and be a gracious host. The trio stood and chatted until Mrs. Queen spoke. "Where is Nathaniel?" She asked with a slightly annoyed tone. Rebecca shrugged, "probably in his room." she said softly. Mrs. Queen gave a slight sigh "Nathaniel! The guests will be here any minute!" she called up the stairs.

Up in the large bedroom that belonged to Nathaniel, he was laying on his bed scrolling through social media and texting some friends. His main priority was finding plans after this stupid dinner party that his parents were forcing him to attend to celebrate some stupid merger that doesn't even affect him. "Nathaniel! Don't make me come up there!" he heard the uptight voice of his mother call once more up the stairs. She was always so stressed with these things. Nate grabbed his suit jacket and headed downstairs. He walked over to his fellow family members and gave them a soft smile.

As Nate walked up to him, the smile the mother was wearing turned into a scowl. "What's on your face?" his mother snapped. He gave a confused look as he rubbed his chin, "what are you talking about?" His father looked at him sternly, "facial hair does not make you look all that professional. You should go shave." His father commented about the short facial hair that has sprouted on his face. Nate gave an eye roll and went to turn when one of the workers walked up to them "the first car of guests is here." His parents frowned "forget it. Keep your scruff for today. You have to be here to meet the guests." they said walking to the front door.

Guests began to flow into their home as each Queen family member greeted every guest with a smile and a hand shake. Nate wanted nothing more than to hit the drinks hard, but he was forced to stay here and greet every guest, until they all have shown. He was begging for it to be over soon.

"Really, I don't want to go." Nicole was walking backwards down the main staircase of their house household, her parents blocking the path back up to her room where she could lock herself away. Her parents were taking their steps carefully, edging her toward the door with each one. Her father's stoic expression conveyed lack of interest in her desires, as it usually did toward employees. Her mother, on the contrary, was trying her best to coax her into a state of complacency. "Come on, sweetie. It won't be that bad. You can mingle and have a few drinks. Maybe you'll even meet someone..."

Nicole groans at the thought of 'meeting someone,' her foot hitting the polished floor with a soft click that rings out through the spacious area of their foyer. Leaning back on the small section of railing that rolls outward from the stairs, she scans over her parents as they head toward the door. She gives her best pout and pitiful voice, "Daddy, please..." The man straightens his back and turns back to face her. "No, Euph--" At the first sound of her name, her eyes widen and her arms drop from the railing to her sides. "Don't call me that." She hesitates for a moment before leaving the house with a huff and getting into a chauffeured car of her own.

The ride to her destination was far from enjoyable. She hardly expected that this would be a genuine party and anywhere close to enjoyable. She was going to be forced to mingle with men at least thirty years older than her, 'close family friends' simply because they were associated with a company with a net worth of over a few hundred thousands. After lamenting to her driver the entire ride, she puts on her best smile as her chauffeur opens the car door. She scans the area with a sigh. They were late. As always. Her parents had a philosophy of either arriving first or last to make a statement. Since her defiance ruled out arriving first, arriving last was the only option. Nicole tucks her bangs behind her ear, turning back to wait her parents approach.

Soon all the guests, except the Buchanan family had arrived. As a pair walked in, Nate peaked out the door and didn't seeing anybody else "perfect that's everyone. To the ba-" his father cut him off. "Not so fast. We're waiting for the Buchanans." he said keeping his son firmly in place. He looked at both of his children giving them the 'these people are very important, don't screw it up' look. Nate gave an eye roll, but Rebecca nodded in agreement, as per usual. Earlier in the greeting process there was a girl that Nate could totally picture in his bed, just for the night of course. He glanced back at the girl who gave him a slight wave. He responded with a raised eyebrow and his cunning smirk. He we slapped back to reality to his father nudging him when a car pulled up. He'd get back to her later.

Nathaniel's father and mother stepped out to meet the Buchanan's on the porch. "Welcome!" his father boomed cheerily. He shook Mr. Buchanan's hand and politely kissed the top of Mrs. Buchanan's hand. "I'm Carston Queen" he said introducing himself to her. "Pleasure is ours." He smiled "This is my wife, Grace." He said wrapping and arm around her waist. "And my two children." he glanced back to Rebecca smiling sweetly and Nate leaning against the door with his arms crossed and a slight smug expression on his face. Rebecca stepped forward "Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan." she said reaching out her hand. She glanced at Nicole "Your dress is absolutely stunning!" she gushed shaking her hand as well. Both of the Queens glanced back waiting for Nate to come forward.

After Rebecca finished brown nosing he sauntered forward, uncrossing his arms. "Nathaniel." He said formally, shaking Mr. Buchanan's hand and giving a polite kiss on the hand to Mrs. and Miss. Buchanan. Mr. Queen smiled at his guests "well do come in." he said welcoming them into their home. As soon as Nate was back in the home he bee-lined straight to the bar. The bartender nodded "your usual, Mr. Queen?" Nate gave a nod and was handed a glass of scotch, neat. He sauntered over to the lady from earlier, giving her a charming smile. They began to flirt right off the bat. I was going swimmingly and the odds were looking pretty good for Nate tonight.

Rebecca smiled up at Nicole and grabbed a champagne. Her parents allowed her to drink, but only champagne or wine and at special events, within reason. Rebecca sipped her champagne and glanced at her "you know, our families are probably going to become really close because of this merger. It'll be nice to have another girl around." she said happily. She gave a slight eye-roll "Nate is such a...such a guy."

The introductions were menial at best. Everyone shook hands. They said nice things. Her family said nice things. What was actually spoken was drowned out by her thoughts about the young Mr. Queen. He certainly wasn't some aged, wrinkly man who had no sense of humor. When he goes off to flirt, she was disappointed, mainly in herself. Good looks and an endless cash flow were never an attractive combination in men. That was something Nicole was supposed to know by heart. Perhaps all the excitement had just muddled her brain.

Her mind finally quieted itself long enough for Nicole to catch the youngest Queen speaking. "Such a guy?" She chuckles softly, taking a glass of champagne as well. By the looks of the way tonight was headed, she certainly was going to need it. "They often are. Seems you've learned your first life lesson as a woman. When you live in a world like this, it's hard to find one that doesn't think his di--" Language, her head's version of her mother scolded her. Don't make a fool of yourself, her internal father followed. "...gnity. Dignity is more important than anything."

Rebecca saw her brother flirting and rolled her eyes "he's ridiculous." she commented as she took another sip of her champagne. Mrs. Queen walked over to the girls "Hi girls, how is everything, Nicole? Is the champagne to your liking?" she asked sweetly. Grace Queen was very much a mother, she loved gossiping with her daughter and having girl time. Her smile faded as her eyes locked with her son flirting shamelessly. "Excuse me." she said and stormed across the room. Rebecca smirked "oh he's in for it" she said with a slight giggle and finished off her champagne.

Nate was just about to lean in and kiss the girl when he felt an all to familiar pain in his ear and he was being tugged away. "Ah...ow." He turned and looked "Mother. Really?" he said annoyed. She gave him a stern look and crossed her arms "don't even give me that." she whispered in efforts not to cause a scene. "This is very important for your father and I. Please just one night, that's all we ask for." She said staring up at him. He sighed, he did have a soft spot for his mother. "Fine." She smiled and wrapped her arms around him. He sighed and wrapped one arm around her. "Now go talk with your sister and Miss. Buchanan." she said lightly pushing him towards the their direction.

He sauntered over and gave a nod, "Miss. Buchanan" he said formally. "Dweeb." he said greeting his sister. She rolled her eyes "It's funny, you're 29 but I have never seen you act like an adult." she spat back at him. "That's not what the girls I sleep with say...according to them I'm all man." he said casually with a slight smirk. Rebecca groaned, "ew. Nate. No." Just then their parents walked up, "we'd like to announce the merger to the crowd, so if you'd please join us." Mr. Queen said to the three of them.

"That's not what the girls I sleep with say...according to them I'm all man." Nicole chokes on her champagne at this remark, turning away to conceal her laughter as she fought against. She was entirely certain that was the exactly case. If that was intended to impress - and she was fairly certain it was, considering that wasn't the first topic of conversation most people jump to when talking with their siblings - it had certainly fallen flat with her. Usually men that boasted were trying to compensate. "We'd like to announce the merger to the crowd, so if you'd please join us."

"Gladly." She smiles with a polite nod. She pauses to mutter to Rebecca, "Thank god. I thought I might actually have to talk to him." She smirks with a nod to Nate before raising her voice to a normal level. "Miss. Queen, it's been a pleasure. I hope we will talk again soon. Mr. Queen..." She turns to Nate, her mouth open to say something else. Nicole instead shuts it with a polite nod and walks off to join her parents in the crowd. Her mother gushes compliments about how she was mingling and behaving so well. Her father was far too busy debating the stocks or something else business-y. Nicole wasn't paying much attention to either. She instead was scanning the crowd for a boy that wasn't over the age of fifty and didn't have an ego the size of the solar system.

Nicole looks to the ground, idly rolling a one of the loose pieces of fabric on her dress between her thumb and forefinger. She was just waiting for the announcement so she could get out of here. Maybe grab a slice of cake on her way out. They had cake, didn't they? All celebrations should have cake. She lifts her gaze, scanning the room for any signs of cake. She wanted genuine cake, not some hyper-priced, gold-laced version of cake. Not seeing any suitable cake within her line of version, she decided that the first thing she was going to do after she left was get some cake.

Rebecca chuckled at Nicole's comment, it was so nice to have another girl around from her generation to bond with. Nate look expectantly at Nicole when she addressed him, his smug smile faded slightly as she walked off. I guess cat got her tongue, he thought to himself. He followed the parents over to the center of the room and stood there waiting, his glass was empty and he really just wanted another one. The more alcohol consumed tonight, the easier this party would be. Mr. Queen quieted everyone down and began to make his speech.

He placed his glass down on a nearby table, "excuse me everyone." He boomed. "First off on behalf of my family I would like to welcome you all again to our home and I hope your having a wonderful time. But secondly, as most of you know my business has been in the works of a merger with the Buchanan family. This dinner is to celebrate the coming together of two successful companies." Nate was staring off into space, regretting not having more to drink. This business stuff bored him to death, he wasn't sure how he was going to last when he is supposed to take over.

Mr. Queen spoke again. "While this merger is something to celebrate there is a slightly bigger announcement we, the Queens and the Buchanans, would like to make. In efforts to ensure that our businesses stay in the hands of family, my son, Nathaniel will be taking-" Nate assumed he knew what was coming next. Over the company, he said finishing his father's sentence for him in his head. Nate began to step forward, assuming his father would want him to make an acceptance speech saying how honored and pleased he was and all the junk that he couldn't care less about. However, he feet came to a halt once his father finished his sentence. "-Miss. Buchanan's hand in marriage." Mr. Queen announced. Nate's eyes widened and stared in disgust at his parents. Rebecca smiled widely and immediately hugged Nicole "oh my god! this is so exciting!" she exclaimed.

The guests clapped and immediately began to congratulate Nate. He thanked them numbly as he made his way towards the bar. "Make it a double." he muttered to the bartender. Mrs. Queen looked over at Nicole and smiled "welcome to the family, dear." she said hugging her. Mrs. Queen went to go hug her son, but he was no where to be seen. Nate has snuck his way to the back of the house with his drink and was standing out on the balcony, leaning on the rail, swirling his scotch. "Over my dead body." he muttered taking another sip and staring up into the night sky.

Nicole had begun to raise her champagne glass in a toast but as soon as 'marriage' crossed Mr. Queen's lips, the glass slipped from her hand and shattered as it hit the floor. Her expression was shock was evident for only a moment before she transitioned to excited surprise. Letting out a nervous laugh that was just a bit too long, she exclaims, "Goodness, I'm just so clumsy!" She glances to Rebecca and tries her best to return her hug with her expression conveying her internal screaming.

Marriage! Getting married? They want her to marry him? It wasn't going to happen. Not now, not ever. But, now wasn't the time to make a scene. Her mother might faint if Nicole even hinted to some of the things she was thinking right now. There was far too much attention centered directly on her, too many congratulations, too many gushing girls. "You know, I'm just... Just so thrilled. I need some fresh air. If you will excuse me..."

Nicole inhales deeply, making her way through the crowd toward the nearest exit. She stumbles out onto the balcony, leaning back against the closed doors behind her and shutting her eyes. "Fuck's sake... This has to be a joke..." She mutters under her breath as the cool air washes over her. This was jut a publicity stunt. She wasn't really getting married, right? She only wanted some cake and now she was getting married. Life was so cruel sometimes...

Mr and Mrs Queen exchanged questioning glances. Rebecca was too elated to notice the slight bit of awkward tension in the air. The waitstaff quickly cleaned th shards of glass from the floor in a jiffy. Mrs. Queen turned to the Buchanans "I apologize for Nathaniel's reaction. It'll grow on him. I promise." She said trying to assure her and the group that everything will work out.

Nate heard the balcony door open and was about to make some snide remark but stopped, hearing her voice. She sounded just upset as he was. He turned with a bottle of scotch, Nate slipped the bartender a fifty and he slipped Nate a bottle. It sure is convenient to be wealthy. He heard her complain and chuckled a bit buzzed from drinking his scotch "this is no joke, princess." He commented displeased, taking a long drink from the bottle. "Cheers to, hopefully, the shortest marriage in fucking history." He said bitterly taking another drink.

Nate was in a state of utter disbelief. He was only able to drink and deliver some sharp sarcasm. Everyone was so happy besides the future bride and groom to be. He's no expert, but Nate's pretty sure that's not how A marriage lasts forever.

She opens her eyes and jumps slightly at the sound of someone else's voice, his voice. For just a brief moment, the balcony was silent for a moment before she let out a soft chuckle, straightening her back as she took a few steps toward him. "Princess? You just called me a princess?" She nods slowly, biting her lip as she thinks about the remark for a moment. "What's that make you then?"

Her eyes rake over him, taking in the bottle and the smell of alcohol. It was a little pathetic, to see him resort to alcoholism as soon as he's faced with a small issue. That's what this was. A small issue. She wasn't getting married, especially not to him. She didn't care if she had to beg or scream or cry. There was no way it was going to happen. It would be resolved soon enough.

"Is this your natural response when things don't go your way?" She crosses her arms over her chest with mock sympathy. "How sad." She couldn't stand his ego. This might be the only chance she ever got to express that so she was certainly going to jump at it. Someone had to tell him that he wasn't as great as he thought he was and Nicole certainly volunteered for the job as soon as she saw him flirting.

Nate glanced back at her when she chuckled. He rolled her eyes "oh, please. Don't flatter yourself. I meant princess in that spoiled brat sort of way." He said "you are far from royalty." Nate put the bottle down "I'm surprised you even have to ask. I'm the king." He responded with a smug grin. He was surveying her as she was doing the same to him. She did have a decent body and her face wasn't half bad. But that personality. Nate couldn't get past it.

Nate gave a chuckle hearing her question "this bottle isn't because of this" he motioned between them. "It's in preparation for the girl that's probably already in my bed." He commented. "Don't worry there's plenty of me to g-" he was cut off by the balcony door opening. Rebecca emerged in tears.

Upon seeing his sister in tears his smug smile immediately faded and a concerned look happened across his face. Rebecca buried her face in his chest "Nate" she sobbed. He was sort of taken back and awkwardly patted her back trying to wiggle from her grasp. "You're getting makeup on the suit." He commented as he tilted her head away. Nate glanced over at Nicole but quickly diverted his gaze back to his sister. He tucked hair behind her ear "Beccs what's wrong?" Her lip quivered as she looked up at him. "I-it's l-Luke. He's here with someone else." She sobbed hugging her brother tighter. Nate's jaw clenched at the sound of his sister's ex's name. He hated the guy.

Nate pried her arms off of him and went to go walk back inside but Rebecca grabbed his arm. "Wait, what are you doing?!" Nate turned, "I'm going to go have a chat with him" he said clearly angry. Rebecca looked up at him with wide eyes "no! You can't! It'll make me look like a loser!" She begged. He stared down at her annoyed "then what do you want from me Becca?!" She pouted a little and hugged him "hold me." She said softly. Nate gave a sigh "this isn't really the best time..." He said stepping out of her grasp. She looked up at him "what? Do you have a girl waiting for you or something?" She paused staring at his face "oh my god. You do." She turned away "just go to her." She said her voice quivering. Nate ran a hand through his hair "Becca..." She shook her head "get out of here Nate." He backed away from her and walked back inside.

As he was making his way up to his bedroom, he spotted Luke standing with some girl that was clearly jailbait. Nate's blood began to boil thinking about his sister crying. He sauntered up to him "Luke." He said cooly. The boy glanced up at him "oh hello Nathaniel." He said with a smug smile. "You're a piece of shit." Nate spatted. Luke gave a chuckle "yeah, because you're one to talk." Nate shook his head "no. You see there's a difference. The girls I get with know and agree there is no chance of a future. You, you promise girls the world and then turn their world upside down. You have no regards for a poor girl's feelings. You're a low-life piece of shit." Nate's anger got the better of him and his voice got louder and before he realized what he was doing his fist connected with Luke's face. The teen was falling backwards to the ground.

Back on the balcony Rebecca heard yelling and her eyes widened "I told him not to do anything." She ran inside to find her father with a firm grasp around Nate, holding him back. "I told you not to do anything!" She yelled. He looked at her "Rebecca. You're kidding me, right?! You were a mess! What was I supposed to do?! Just let him do that to you?!" Rebecca crossed her arms looking dignified "I was never a mess. I don't care what or who he does." She commented proudly. Mr. Queen let him go and was clearly upset with him. He looked around and was met with plenty of disapproving glances. He began to loosen his tie "fuck this." He muttered and stormed upstairs. Mr. Queen began to address his guests, formally apologizing for his son's behavior. Nate went up to his bedroom slamming the door.

Nicole's mouth was open to give him a piece of her mind but she shut it as soon as the balcony door opened. Rebecca stumbled out in tears and went straight to Nate. Nicole was just about to think that he wasn't half bad and then he shoved off his sister to go sleep with some girl. Nicole tried her best to comfort Rebecca in place of Nate but her comforting was soon interrupted by the sounds of conflict from inside. She hurried inside after Rebecca to see a teen boy, presumably the 'Luke' in question, laying on the floor bleeding and Nate storming off. Nicole took the moment to give her parents a 'You want me to marry that?' look before following Nate up to his room.

She didn't exactly know why that was her first reaction. To be honest, given their first few exchanges, she was close to hating the man. Perhaps it was because she didn't want either of their families' reputations going down the drain because of a stupid argument. She hesitates a moment before knocking on his bedroom door. Please don't be having sex, please don't be having sex... Please be too pissed off to be having sex. That was the last thing she needed to interrupt him in the middle of. When the door opened, she was quick to put her foot in the door because she was certain he'd be more than willing to slam it in her face.

Nate walked into his bedroom and peeled his shirt off. He was greeted by a pissed off looking girl. She stormed up to him and gave him a hard slap across the face. "You're engaged!? You pig." She stormed passed him and opened the door to find Nicole. She walked passed her while Nate stood there rubbing his cheek.

Nate threw his hands up as she walked out. He locked eyes with Nicole. "Oh honey, you're home. It's not what it looks like." He said with mock panic. Nate picked his shirt off the floor "are you here to stare disapprovingly at me too?" He snapped sarcastically as he walked into his walk in closet and put the shirt in the hamper and walked back out. "Whatever it is little miss. Perfect has to say, fucking save it." He began undoing his belt, "I'm taking my pants off, look or don't. I don't care." He said casually as he grabbed gym shorts from his bed and slid them on. "So what do you want?" He asked.

Nicole rolls her eyes at his sarcasm, watching the girl storm out. Big surprise that he was still making an attempt. She averts her gaze while he changes. That certainly wasn't something she wanted to see any time soon. "Can you be a normal human being for like a minute?" Nicole steps into his room, shutting the door with the heel of her shoe. "Because I hate this pretentious asshole act. No one really likes it."

She pushes past him, walking over to his window. Examining the view for a moment, she glances back at him over her shoulder. "How high is it?" She had just had the most brilliant idea to escape. Her parents were probably watching the door like hawks, but if she went out this way, they would simply think she was have a nice, long chat with her hubby-to-be. She shudders slightly at the thought that he might actually be her husband in the near future. Her parents won't going to go down easily on that one.

He rolled his eyes "sorry I don't live up to everyone's expectations." He answered as he watched her push past him. "Oh please just make yourself at home." He stated sarcastically as she made her way to the window. Nate made a confused face when she asked the question. "I don't know, I never had the urge to measure." He answered.

Nate was slightly curious about her motive for the question, but figured he'd entertain whatever thought she had. He sat on his bed "to answer your question, maybe like 10-15ft. I just know they need one of the big extension ladders to wash my windows." He answered. Nate watched her "if you're thinking of escaping I don't recommend it...a bed of rose bushes will greet you with their thorns if you do." He said as he placed his hands behind his head. "And cue your snarky comment about how thorns would be less painful then staying here with me." He said mockingly.

Nate thought momentarily, then sat up. "If you want out, follow me and stay quiet." He stood up and walked towards the door. He turned back "i recommend taking your shoes off so you don't draw any attention to yourself." Nate placed his ear up to the door and then opened it slowly, the coast was clear. He quietly walked down the hall way and stopped at the next door. As he reached for the door it was already being opened from the other side. He was greeted by a small Spanish woman "oh mr. Queen." She said surprised to see him. He sighed in relief when it was just his maid "jeez Rosie, you scared me." She looked curiously from Nicole to Nate. "Really mr. Queen? Your sister's room?" She asked assuming that he was going to sleep with her. His eyes widened and shook his head "Rosie, no. Not this one." She nodded not believing him and walked away.

Nate shook his head and pushed Nicole into his sister's room. "Rebecca has a balcony and if you jumped from here you won't land in thorns." He said as he opened the doors to the balcony. "Your freedom awaits." He commented.

"And cue your snarky comment about how thorns would be less painful then staying here with me." She rolls her eyes, glancing from the window to him. "Predictability isn't my style." She follows his advice and slips off her shoes, kicking them under his bed before following him out. The encounter with the Spanish woman was uncomfortable, to say the least. "Please tell me you don't normally have sex in your sister's room..." She mutters, more to herself than actually to him.

Nicole walks out onto the balcony, shutting her eyes and taking in the fresh air for a moment. There was a small moment of hesitation in mind before she turned back to him. "You coming or what, pretty boy? Unless you have more pressing matters to attend to..." She remarks teasingly, leaning over the railing of the balcony to get a good look at the best route of escape. Her smirk flickers for a moment out of his gaze as she realizes that she just proposed he come along with her. She certainly hadn't expected her mind to make that leap... But he looked like he knew how to have a good time, enough if he was a self-absorbed asshole.

Nate stood there waiting for her to jump, but he was thrown off slightly by her question. He was not expecting an invitation. Nate glanced at his attire "Wow I'm being invited to go be in your presence? I'm honored." He answered with sarcasm. "Alas, I'm in gym shorts and I'm not wearing a shirt...not really social attire." He commented.

Nate thought a bit more, "do you actually have plans or are you just looking to go home?" He asked curiously. Nate's friend was throwing a party at a night club. He could always give her a ride home and then head to the party. Then another thought crossed his mind. Nate momentarily considered inviting her as a plus one. "Hold that thought." He commented sneaking out of the room.

Returning a couple of minutes later, wearing jeans, a tight black t-shirt, and a sports jacket. His hair was perfectly in place as he walked towards Nicole and surveyed the yard below. Nate hopped of the ledge with ease, from much practice, and landed on the ground. He looked up at the balcony "your turn." He said waiting. As he looked up he put his arms out "I'll catch you if you want." He commented, the last thing he needed was a news story about her getting injured at his hands.

"The question is will you actually catch me, though." She teases, swinging her leg over the railing and sitting on it a moment. For a moment, she didn't hate him. The thought crosses her mind that maybe he wasn't half bad... But she quickly shakes it off and hops off the balcony into his arms. The momentary proximity evades his conscious mind for a moment before she realizes and steps away from him. She flips her hair over her shoulder, looking away from him. "As for plans, I don't exactly have anything in mind. I just know I don't want to stay here and I don't want to go home."

After recollecting herself, she looks back to him. "If you have something you'd like to share with the class..." She says teasingly as she starts her way to the front of the house where he chauffeur was parked. Sure it wasn't the most subtle way of getting out of here but it was quick and efficient. He'd keep his mouth shut if she asked nicely and slipped him a bill. She figured her now fiance didn't want to spend any more time with her than he had to so she would have to find her own party to attend. It couldn't be that hard.

Nate rolled his eyes at her comment she made as she swung her legs over the railing. "We'll see...you'll just have to trust me I guess." he added. He was sort of surprised she actually jumped. Nate quickly adjusted, and caught her easily in his arms, she was actually quite light. He made sure her feet were firmly on the ground before he let go and backed away just as she did. Nate found, he didn't completely hate having her in his arms, but she was a girl after all. Girls were practically built for him. Nate was still debating with himself as to whether to invite her to this party or not. It won't be that bad, she doesn't even have to hang with me. She could go off and find other people, it'll just be like carpooling. As he listened to her question he paused and grabbed her hand pulling off to the side without a word, where a detached 4 car garage sat.

He turned to her as he punched in a code on the panel but the third garage door. "My friend is having a party at his night club, free drinks, music, etc. You're welcomed to come, you don't even have to stay with me. I figured it's a party, it's not here and it's not your house." He said with a shrug, walking towards a gray Bentley convertible. He opened the door and slid into the driver's seat. "So you coming? I can put the top back up if you don't want your precious hair getting ruined." he commenting sarcastically before starting the engine. As he waited for her to make her decision he pulled up his phone texting his friend quickly, 'tell the doorman I'm on my way with a possible plus one.' His friend responded quite surprised that he may bring a plus one, it was quite uncommon for him to come with anybody. Leaving was a different story, but he wasn't the type to bring people.

Nicole was surprised when he decided to tug her along but she didn't fight it. Her eyes raked over the car before getting in on the passenger side with her phone in hand. She sends a quick text to a friend of her own, outlining the outfit she intended on wearing tonight. After it sends, she looks over at him. "The only issue with that plan is that I absolutely cannot go to a party looking like this. I look like a forty year old woman who just attended a dinner party with her garden club. So we'd have to stop somewhere, if that wouldn't kill you. It would only take a minute."

Maybe it was just the lighting or the situation but for a half a second that thought crossed her mind that he wasn't the most hideous person ever. But it was a purely physical attraction. Because even douche bags could have a nice face and this coincidentally did. She glances away from him, looking out into the garage. Never, ever could she admit that to him. He would hold that over her head forever. "So, you gonna drive or are we just gonna sit here all night?"

Nate had began putting the top up as she climbed in. He rolled his eyes hearing that she wanted to change, "sure you say a minute, but that really means like an hour." he commented. Glancing in her direction at her last comment "We have to wait for the top to finish, you can drive and put the top up at the same time. It'll damage it." he informed her. "and unless you want to pay for a new top for my Bentley, I suggest you hold your horses, princess." he felt the need to add a snarky comment. As soon as the top was up he backed out of the garage and peeled out of his driveway. "So where exactly am I taking you to get changed? I'm assuming your house?" he asked as he drove down his street.

He leaned back in his seat relaxing, on hand on the steering wheel, the other arm resting on the window. As he drove Nate was not used to silence in his car, there was usually always music playing or his obnoxious friends talking in the other seats. He decided to make casual conversation, "so you don't actually intend on marrying me, do you?" he asked. Okay maybe not the best topic to start off with. He mentally slapped himself. "You know...just so I know if I have some freedom to night to...window shop." he said with a smirk. "I may be an asshole, but I don't cheat." he said clarifying.

Nicole couldn't believe him. Every time she had just started to think maybe he wasn't entirely an asshole, he sent himself back to square one. She silently scolds herself for even thinking that. If she kept trying to see the best in him, she might actually fall in love with him or something. That thought actually made her slightly nauseous which helped put her head on straight. "Just drive. 239 Ash Street. Which isn't my house if you're wondering."

She turns her attention to the stereo, turning it on and cranking it up. She didn't care what was playing as long as it was playing loud enough for her not to have to make conversation. In case the music was enough to get the message across, she shifts in her seat to look out the passenger side window and away from him. Focusing on the passing scenery, she sits tight-lipped and hoping that the ride won't be too long after she changes.

"A fucking please wouldn't kill you." he commented as he plugged in the address to his car's GPS. His question was answered by the radio blasting. "Good talk." he muttered sarcastically, so it wasn't heard over the loud music. Nate continued driving in silence. He began to think about married life and it sort of made him nauseous, being with the same person day in and day out seems like such a chore. Don't they get tired of each other? He had no idea how is parents managed to do it for as long as they did. His train of thought began to picture what life with Nicole would be like. If she acted like she currently was, it'd be fairly quiet with minimal interactions. That seems like a decent lifestyle. Nate mentally slapped himself as that thought popped into his head.

After a quiet drive, not including the music, he pulled up to the address she gave him. "Hurry up." he commented, throwing the car in park and killing the engine. He wanted maximum time surveying the girls at the party and choosing the one that'll fit him best. If she took forever all the good ones could be gone by the time they get to the club. In addition, everyone else is probably super drunk right now so he's going to have to play catch up, which usually results in waking up still a bit drunk. Nate sat back and waited for Nicole to come back from her wardrobe change.

Nicole rolls her eyes at his kind words as she gets out of the car and walking up to the boutique that he stopped in front of. The small store seemed to be closed but as Nicole approaches the lights flicker on and a blonde woman hurries over to the door, fumbling through a key ring. The blonde woman unlocks and opens the door and kisses Nicole's cheek as a greeting. The two chat and laugh for a few moments before Nicole motions out to the car, presumably telling her about her tight schedule. The two disappear into the store, out of sight from Nate.

Nicole returns to the door only a few minutes later in her night attire. She had taken the time to reapply her makeup as well as don the black top and gold-colored skirt. Nicole kisses the blond woman's cheek again before leaving the store. The lights go out as Nicole approaches the car and the blonde woman exits a moment later. Nicole throws her hair over her shoulders as she slips back into the car. Examining her makeup in the car's side mirror, she smirks slightly. "I told you it would only take a few minutes. It's good to have friends in low places."

Without a word Nate starts the car again and pulls away from the shop. He sped up to the night club and two valets run over one to his side and one to Nicole's, opening the door for both of them. Nate tosses him the keys and slipped him a 50 dollar bill. "Take care of her for me." He said smoothly as he bypassed the line going straight to the bouncer. The bouncer immediately recognized him and smiled opening the rope. "Mr. Queen, great to see you again." The man, that could easily bench press Nate if he wanted to, said with a smile. "How's the selection for me tonight, Sean?" Nate asked with a smirk. The bouncer smiled "hand selected just for you." Nate chuckled and patted the bouncer's huge bicep. "You always take care of me." Nate said as he walked past the ropes and headed into the club.

Sean, the bouncer, closed the rope after Nate and curiously looked at Nicole. "Mr. Queen?" He called back to Nate. Nate turned, "Yeah?" he asked glancing back at Sean. "She's not with you right?" He asked assuming he wouldn't be with a girl. Nate thought that Nicole was following him in, but the bouncer seemed to be doing his job fairly well. "Actually Sean, she is...let her in." The bouncer gave him a confused look and then removed the rope to let her in, he nodded at her "My apologies, miss." he said politely. Nate turned back to the door, holding it open for her. As he entered the club his friend, who was the owner, spotted him. He signaled to the DJ to cut the music and was given a microphone. "Hey everyone! Shut up!" Justin yelled into the microphone. everyone quieted down and directed their attention to Nate. "Ladies." Justin said and snapped his fingers. Four girls had surrounded him and a slight smirk grew on his lips. "Take your pick, Nate." Nate surveyed his options and chuckled "Justin, you know I'm not nearly drunk enough to make this decision." Justin dispersed the ladies and a drink was handed to Nate. His usual for the club scene, a jack and coke.

Justin then noticed Nicole, "Bro..." he said looking at Nicole. "Who's that?" Nate turned as he was sipping his drink and nodded "Oh, That's Nicole. Our fathers are conducting a merger. She was over for a dinner party. We were both bored so we left, I invited her here to save her from her misery." he said casually as he began to walk away, "Oh and our parents arranged to marry us." he added last minute as he walked towards the vip section to set his jacket down. Justin stared in shock at that last part. He looked at Nicole, still in shock, "You're supposed to marry that?" He couldn't help but laugh, "Sweetheart, he's a wet towel compared to me." Justin said with a smirk wrapping an arm around her waist. Nate had walked back down from the vip section with a full glass. "Get your hands off of her Justin. She's not here to hang out with us." he commented briefly as he passed, sipping his drink. Justin smirked at Nicole "well if you want a dance with me, I'll be waiting." Justin whispered into her ear and followed Nate. "Dude! You have to dance with her, she's your fiancee!" Nate whipped around. "No. I'm not engaged to...to that." he hissed. Justin laughed "why're you saying it like that? She's hot." Nate's jaw clenched, "One. I don't do marriage. I have meaningless sex with whatever girl I want and that works. Two. Our fathers are business partners. And three, she's a cold hearted bitch. I offered to take her here and I'm told to 'just drive', and I'm ordered to drive her somewhere to get changed first, and do a get a thank you or a please? No, I didn't" He snapped. Justin's eyes widened a bit. "All I'm saying is you followed those demands. But we'll get you drunk and you'll feel all better." he said dragging him towards the bar to take shots.
