Chapter 1
The First Encounter
The Year is 2029.
Mankind has taken its first steps
to inhabit other planets and a lucrative
mining colony is born on Mars.
Two years pass... A scrambled distress
call is received and all further
contact with the colony ceases
One word remained clear - INVASION
Having arrived in orbit above the
planet, you find it struggling to
survive hordes of alien attackers.
You are commander of the dropship
SENTINEL
You must unleash its weaponry
to save the colony and mankind...

This RP is based on the first of the Sentinel tower defence games for IOS and Android. Having said that, you don't have to have played the games to understand or be able to get involved with this RP. The only lore that the game gives is the small scroll of text that you've just read, which is shown at the start of the game. But now I've explained all that, I'll give a decent lore introduction to the RP, this is where the RP deviates from the game.

The mining colony on Mars had grown gradually over the past two years and was now home to many families, anyone old enough to work did so. Working conditions were good, the pay was good, the homes were decent and the pay was amazing! Life, in general, was good. Until 'they' came. An unknown alien species arrived on the planet with no warning and the population of the colony was decimated almost overnight. The numbers of people living as a part of the colony dropped from approximately 25,000 to around 1,500 - 2,00 ish survivors in the blink of an eye. The remaining survivors on the planet have taken refuge in a large base on the planet's surface. The base has strong defences but the survivors are heavily outnumbered and they're resources are dangerously low. It's only a matter of time before the aliens break through. And even if they were able to hold of the aliens, they only have enough food to last them 3 months at the most.
On earth, a transmission was received from the mining colony. The message was hard to read due to something having interfered with the signal. However, from what could be recovered, it was discovered that there was an invasion taking place on the surface of Mars and that everyone on the planet was in serious and immediate danger, the nature of which is unknown. Quickly the dropship Sentinel was fuelled up with supplies and gear and a rescue team boarded the Sentinel before plotting a course for Mars and taking off. No one on board the Sentinel knows what to expect upon arrival.
There is only a matter of time until all is lost.
