Welcome to the Sense of Justice private investigations, a small company where half the clients are already dead, half its employees are alcoholics or legal drug addicts, and they top the percentages for divorce. You see, being a psychic isn’t all it’s cracked up to be for some.
SoJ was started up by a psychic with a surprisingly understanding husband. She had been a talented psychic working for the DA until he was replaced by election. Her husband was an applied physicist and chemist, but rather open minded. Her husband decided to help save her from boredom by starting a PI firm.
Now one of the troubling problems of solving crime by use of psychic ability is that evidence by psychics isn’t exactly accepted in courts. So the company first needed real PI’s with experience in chain of custody preservation, crime scene canvassing, dealing with Law Enforcement. In short, SoJ needed legal teeth. And that is where the company is currently at. They are still trying to build a workforce while trying to find cases to use them in. They do have contacts with Law Enforcement.
The company is based in Atlanta, Ga, but will recruit anyone with US citizenship or a work VISA. They are always on the lookout for new talent. However, they will pass up talent they have no place for yet.
Company Rules
Privacy - The fact that psychic abilities are used to uncover evidence MUST be hidden. This is to preserve the safety of all employees - from legal entanglements, ridicule, and harassment.
Evidence - Dreams are not enough to start an investigation. Some sort of real evidence must be available to get started. However, they ARE enough to start a data search. If some evidence that corroborates dream suggestions, the company will investigate further.
Harassment - employees must take great care not to be seen as harassing citizens however certain you are of their guilt.
Characters
I am looking to fill one of each of the following roles before allowing a second. This does not include the company founders.
Character Types - Psychic
No psychic talent should be observable or measurable. This type does NOT include TK, teleportation, pyrokinesis, etc. Also, no telepaths in the OP sense. Rather they should be sensitives. Each must be unique. Their abilities should come with drawbacks, often uncontrolled, and sometimes debilitating. In short these are Sensitives. A good TV show to watch would be Medium. Dead Zone is a bit OP, but also good.
Mediums - good for early warning of cases, or re-opening cold cases
Sniffers - great for tracking lost objects or people
Empaths - great for interviews
Character Types - Normal
These are the characters that will be needed to protect the psychics from themselves. Unfortunately, the company wealth is limited, so many will have to wear more than one hat until the company grows. Psychics may be able to fill some roles depending on design. However try not to design your character to do everything. The specialists should be better at their job.

I do have a couple characters in mind that do not fit into either of the categories above. Odds are I will fill in some of the sedentary stay at the office roles with NPC’s.
Missions
This is the hard part. I have to justify hiring SoJ. Currently they lack credibility and reputation. So the assignments will be small of depressing. By depressing I mean discovering the fate of some victim long after they are dead. Most reputable people won’t have anything to do with you.
I am thinking of starting with a debunking attempt - someone investigating YOU - who believes there is no such thing as psychics. Ironically, she has claimed to be a psychic herself in the past. (She’s reformed … and a bit famous … and a popular writer of mystery novels.)
