episode 1, prologue "This is bullocks. Absolute, cow-udder, tit-sagging bullocks. We're not even a minute in and it's already been ruined!" Aster throws his hands into the air, motioning at the screen in exasperation. "Today is not my day. And stop talking to asshats on tantan. Tonton. Whatever it's called."
episode 1Mako couldn’t help but glance over at Aster’s outburst. It wasn’t often that the male was dramatic over the female’s obvious bad choicesin which she found a man. “First off all, it’s Tantan. Second off all, I need a man, okay?” She replied with a frown. She then looked over at the mobile phone in Aster’s hand before asking, “What happened?” Maybe it was that ass talking about her parents being experts again.
episode 1, harriet's birthday "You don't need a man. You want one," Aster retorted, picking at nothing in his nails. He swiveled in his chair, brows raised as he reminded, "Besides, the last guy you talked to had the brain capacity of a pea." They shared a shit-eating grin with each other, knowing that it was true.
With a shrug, Aster decided not to pursue the topic any further. Mako was his wife (one of them at least). She was capable to make her own decisions.
"Ugh, no. It's Harriet," he answered, the name rolling off his tongue in disgust. "She's asking me to plan something for her birthday." The both of them cringed visibly.
Even Agestoth, who entered the room late made a face when they heard the name. "I fucking hate Harriet," they muttered under their breath.
"Don't we all," Aster echoed, leaning back in contemplation on conveniently 'forgetting to reply' like he always did.
episode 1Plan something for her birthday? Didn’t she have a loaded boyfriend for reasons as such? Mako visibly cringed. At times she was glad that she wasn’t Harriet’s close friend but others, she wished her friends hadn’t become clase to her at all. It would have saved a lot of agony, pain....agony and....more agony. “Tell her you’re busy or something. Like you have church. She won’t go against Jesus,” the female shurgged before narrowing her eyes, “I think.”
Mako really wanted Harriet to stop trying so hard. Wasn’t it obvious none of them enjoyed her presence? She couldn’t be that dumb, could she?
“I don’t even remember when’s her birthday.” Another voice spoke up as Ed’s eyes were still glued to his phone. Probably memorising dance moves, as usual. Thiugh she was used to his behaviour, she wondered how anyone did that. Was it really effective?
“I only know she’s Gemini. Like Sam.” Mako casually added with a smirk, knowing full well her friends knew what she was insinuating.
episode 1, harriet's birthday There was a gagging motion at the mention of Sam. They never talked about Sam. It had been months since Aster last saw her and it wasn't a surprise to see that the male had forgotten her existence---though up til now. His nose wrinkled at the thought of the Gemini. A compulsive liar who couldn't keep track of her own lies. It was laughable.
"It's this week," Aster reminded, with heavy reluctance, "I haven't even bought her a gift yet... Maybe I can re-purpose some tissue paper." There was a pause like he was considering it.
"I'm just joking," he defended. No one looked convinced. No one looked surprised. It was for Harriet after all. With the amount of bullshit she gave people, some toilet paper would do her some good.
"She's asking me to sleepover at her place after class. I rather hang myself. Can I hang myself instead?" Aster groaned, tossing his phone to Agestoth.
"I can't believe she's asking me to plan something for her after the shit she told me about 'toxic vibes'," he scoffed and Agestoth smirked.
"You should plan," they said, "Plan to leave."
There was a snort from the others.
"Good idea. I don't think she'd believe me if I said it's for church. Church activities usually happen on weekends," Aster sighed as Agestoth passed him back his phone.
episode 1The brunette female nodded before leaning her head against the table. Mako then thought back to Aster’s current transportation problem. She doubted Harriet could blame him for not having a means of transportation. But then again, she wouldn’t place it past Harriet to lash out at someone for no good reason. “Tell her you can’t drive.” She suggested before sitting upright.
“I know, you gotta settle something at college.” Mako quickly added as excuses begin to flow through her mind. Wow, what a time to be productive. She then waved her hands in front of her, as though motioning to convince the others, “You have to like, I don’t know, plan a funeral.”
Mako then clapped her hands together before snapping her fingers, “You gotta meet Tun M, our man.” She could almost feel the gaze of everyone else judging her. She needed a legitimate excuse to get Aster out of this. Not only because she wanted to help him but also because of an equation.
Aster - excuse = Harriet + party = Mako + Agestoth + Moyashi + Ed + party
episode 1, harriet's birthday Aster snorts out a laugh at Mako's suggestion. It was a great excuse. Ludicrous and a bit far-fetched but it got the point across: I don't want to go, please leave me alone.
Mako could be so funny sometimes. Aster loved that about her.
"Yeah, sure. I'll tell her that." He's laughing without really laughing. It's in his smile. "Thanks you guys."
episode 2, prologue Truth be told, Aster may or may not have forgotten the topic of their second episode. Was it about Assman? Unreasonable Asian parents? Stupid tantan swipes?
Okay, maybe he has forgotten, but he keeps a perfect poker face on until Makomin hints at it.
episode 2If Mako was honest with herself, she'd admit that love was never and will probably never be something she could understand, let alone master. Though, like any other individual, wanted a part of it even if she didn't blatantly admit it. However, one set back she had was that meeting new people wasn't her thing. Maybe she could do it on a dating app? She has heard negative reviews about it but being tired of the pessimist she was, she decided to be a bit more optimistic.
And did she regret it.
Mako sighed loudly before grunting, obviously very annoyed before placing her phone down onto the table. "Why are men so stupid," she asked rhetorically as she tried to calm down, "No offence, Ast. I love you."
episode 2 "None taken. We are," Aster replied, recalling all the stupid shit he's done in his recent past. Just yesterday he had a pointless conversation with his cousin about strap-ons and banana trees and none of it made any sense.
Out of curiosity, he picked up the phone laid on the counter and skimmed the contents of their conversation. Every so often, a grimace crossed his face or he'd roll his eyes, scoffing in sarcasm. When it reached a particularly weird part of the convo, the male could only raise a brow.
"Why are you still talking to him? He sounds like a furry. I bet he's a furry," Aster said, smirking at his claim. He tosses the phone back just as a message beeps in reply.
episode 2The female didn't reply Aster immediately. She was having the same conversation she had with herself almost everyday.
Why?
Mako couldn't help but stare down at the phone and the incoming reply from the male she had been texting. "I need to love myself more," she said with a sigh that depicted how much she had actually given up on a decent love life as for now alongside the male species, "but I guess you can say I find it amusing talking to guys like that." She had purposely emphasized the last word of her sentence as she remembered Aster reading another conversation about a male's hobby going to the gym.
She then casually commented, "Maybe it has something to do with me liking a guy for about two years before realising he was a fuckboi."
episode 2 "You do," Aster agreed, voice growing softer in empathy. He was aware that most of his friends struggled with some form of mental setbacks and self-love was usually one of them. Throwing his arms around his friend, he snuggled his cheek against hers as he hummed in a sing-sung voice, "It's okay though. I'll love you enough for the both of us."
The mention of her ex made him frown and he rolled his eyes in an exasperated sigh. "Maybe if you exact revenge on him, you'd get over your bad luck with guys?" It was a harmless suggestion, fueled by all the sinister torture methods the male had studied up on for... ahem, research.
episode 2At Aster's display of affection, Mako couldn't help but smile and wrap an arm around her friend. In all honesty, Mako was grateful she had not just a friend or two to rely on but a whole gang. Out of everyone, Aster was one of the closer ones to her as they've shared quite a number of experiences with each other alongside talks that fitted only very close friends, even best friends.
Mako was about to add that she had since stopped going to the church her former crush used to go to when Aster mentioned revenge. She was going to correct her when a smile of sorts made its way to Mako's lips. Joshua, or rather, Assman as Aster calls him, was without a doubt, a mere ass. Mako hated that she wasted almost a year on a half on him to find out he wasn't trying enough.
"Do you uh, have a plan already? I mean, I have one too but I figured yours would be better than mine." She responded.
episode 2 "Oh, I have many," Aster said, waving his hands at the imaginary list of torture methods assman-- I mean, Joshua, deserved. "But we'll go with what you want first and work our way from there," he smiled, patting her back as he swiveled back in his chair.
"If we're going to murder him though, let me know now and I'll buy some shovels on Shoppee."
