The Land of Fire (火の国, Hi no Kuni) is one of the largest and most powerful countries in the series, and the home of the main characters of the series. Its government leader is the Fire Daimyō. The Land of Fire was the first country to adopt a ninja village, Konohagakure, a custom other countries would soon adopt. The Land of Fire is appropriately oriented towards the element of fire, typically having very bright and warm weather. While not the physically largest country, it has the largest hidden village.

  • Konohagakure (木ノ葉隠れの里, Literally meaning: Village Hidden by Tree Leaves) is the hidden village of the Land of Fire. As the village of one of the Five Great Shinobi Countries, Konohagakure has a Kage as its leader known as the Hokage, of which there have been six in its history. Konoha resides deep within a forest at the base of a mountain known as the Hokage Rock, which has the faces of all those who have taken the office of Hokage engraved on it. Generally seen as the most powerful of the ninja villages, Konoha is home to many veterans of the Fifth Great Shinobi War.

The standard attire for Konoha shinobi consists of blue or black shirts which may or may not have swirl patterns on the shoulders, along with matching coloured pants over a green flak jacket which also has a red swirl on the back, and pockets on the chest area. They also tend to wrap bandages around their legs. Many Konohagakure ninja use Fire Release techniques.

    History

    Founding
    180
During the Warring States Period, ninja were organised into small mercenary clans that knew nothing but battle. The two strongest of these clans were the Senju and the Uchiha, who had warred against each other for their entire histories. Eventually, intending to end the countless bloodshed, Hashirama Senju used his position as leader of his clan to create a truce with the Uchiha clan. The Senju, the Uchiha, and their affiliated clans formed the first shinobi village: Konohagakure — a name invented by Madara himself. Other villages would soon start being formed following Konoha's example, ending the Warring States Period.

Hashirama used his Wood Release abilities to produce much of the village's infrastructure.
    180
This ability and his ideals were two of the reasons he was chosen to become the village's leader: the Hokage. Madara, however, feared that the Senju would oppress his clan and attempted to gather support to overthrow Hashirama. No Uchiha would help, forcing him to take on Hashirama by himself. Madara was ultimately defeated at what would be called the Valley of the End and he was believed to have died. As a result of the battle, Konoha came into possession of the Nine-Tails. To contain its enormous power, the village began its trend of sealing the beast within Uzumaki, a clan that the Senju and thus the rest of Konoha had close ties with. At some point, Hashirama came to bind some of the other tailed beasts and gave them to the other newly formed ninja villages to promote peace and tranquility. However, this peace was short-lived.

    The First Three World Wars

Konoha took part in the first three Shinobi World Wars. Hashirama died shortly after the village began to flourish, and the mantle of Hokage was passed onto his brother, Tobirama Senju, who became the Second Hokage. Tobirama died during the First Shinobi World War, killed by Kumogakure's ninja, but he appointed Hiruzen Sarutobi as Third Hokage before his death. Years later, during the Second Shinobi World War, Hiruzen led Konoha's forces against Iwa and Suna, using Amegakure as their battleground. Ame's leader, Hanzō, also fought Konoha a number of times, and during one of these battles gave Hiruzen's students - Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru - the title of Sannin. During the Third Shinobi World War, Konoha fought the ninja of Iwagakure across Kusagakure. Konoha was almost defeated, but Minato Namikaze and his team helped turn the war back in their favour.

    Nine-Tails' Attack

    photo.jpg
After the end of the Third Shinobi World War, Hiruzen chose Minato to replace him as Fourth Hokage. Soon after Minato took office, however, a masked man kidnapped the Nine-Tails' Uzumaki-host and removed it from her body, which he then used to attack Konoha. Minato was able to defeat the man, but the Nine-Tails proved more difficult. Left with few options, Minato gave his life to seal the Nine-Tails into the body of his newborn son, Naruto Uzumaki. Many ninja died defending the village, and most survivors blamed Naruto for the Nine-Tails' actions. Hiruzen, Hokage again, outlawed all mention of the Nine-Tails so that future generations would not hate Naruto as their parents did.

    Hyūga Affair

The Hyūga Affair (日向の件, Hyūga no Ken) — as the incident is known nowadays in Kumogakure — happened nine years prior to the start of the series, while Kumogakure and Konohagakure were at war. In an attempt to put an end to the fighting, they agreed to a peace treaty to be signed on the date which coincided with Hinata Hyūga's third birthday. The treaty was soon revealed to might be nothing more than a cover when the person who was the Head Ninja of Kumogakure at the time — who was in Konoha to sign the treaty — attempted to kidnap Hinata in order to obtain the Byakugan and its secrets. The shinobi was killed in his attempt by Hinata's father, Hiashi Hyūga.

    Uchiha Clan Downfall

Konoha's leadership believed an Uchiha was responsible for the Nine-Tails' attack, and as such cut off the Uchiha from much of the village's affairs. Angered by this mistreatment, many of the Uchiha began plotting a coup d'état that would wrest control of Konoha. However, some Uchiha saw the dangers from such a venture. One such figure was Itachi Uchiha, who became a spy for Konoha's leadership. After peace talks failed, Danzō Shimura ordered Itachi to wipe out his clan in exchange for being allowed to spare his younger brother, Sasuke. Itachi, with assistance from Tobi, did as instructed, but staged events to seem as though he acted alone and for selfish purposes so that Sasuke would someday take vengeance against him for what he did to their family.

    Konoha Crush

During Part I, Konoha is the site of the Chūnin Exams. During the exams' final stage the village is invaded by Otogakure and Sunagakure ninja, an attempt to end the peace and prosperity that Konoha alone has enjoyed since the Third Shinobi World War. The invaders are repelled, but Konoha suffers heavy casualties, including Hiruzen. Although Tsunade quickly replaces him as Fifth Hokage, recovery for the rest of Konoha's military forces is slow. The village is understaffed until Part II, leaving it unable to properly respond to events occurring in the interim such as Sasuke Uchiha's defection.

    Pain's Assault

Three years after the failed Konoha Crush, the Six Paths of Pain of Akatsuki attack Konoha in an effort to capture Naruto. Konoha's forces have some success while fighting the Pains individually, but can do nothing to stop the village's destruction by Pain's Shinra Tensei. Naruto returns to Konoha shortly afterwards and defeats Pain before confronting Nagato, the man behind Pain. After Naruto convinces him that his actions were wrong, Nagato gives his life to revive everyone that died during the invasion. Tsunade is left in a coma from exhausting herself in protecting Konoha from Pain, causing Danzō Shimura to temporarily take office as her replacement. Danzō oversees the start of the village's lengthy rebuilding process and deals with the immediate aftermath of Pain's attack.

    Fourth Great Shinobi War

Because of Akatsuki's growing aggression, the ninja villages decide to form an Allied Shinobi Forces to oppose Akatsuki in the Fourth Shinobi World War. Danzō is killed shortly after the Alliance is agreed upon, but Tsunade wakes from her coma in time to start overseeing the war efforts. Despite still being under construction, Konoha is used as a haven for refugees fleeing countries where much of the fighting is expected to take place. After the downfall of the Allied Shinobi Forces, the newly-named Minato Sarutobi takes residence in Konoha. It is unknown if this is because the Village was considered the strongest of the time or because of the influence of Naruto Uzumaki and Madara Uchiha on his psyche.

    Era of the Daimyō

While Minato used Konoha as his first home and place of learning, he ultimately began shaping it how he saw fit. He eliminated the Academy and most monuments to the former shinobi world, and quelled anyone enraged by his actions through sheer force. Through that force and some compromise, Minato Sarutobi eventually turned Konoha into an example of what he wanted the world to be: a functioning world without shinobi. After proving it was possible in Konoha, he launched a campaign to take over all other lands - with few exceptions - and rid the world of shinobi. After his success, one of his Fissions created using Mū's Fission technique resided in Konoha and looked after the Land of Fire.

    Fifth Great Shinobi War

On October 8th, the Allied Shinobi Rebellion launched their attack on the Daimyō Empire. While Konoha was unsuccessful in killing their Minato Fission, they managed to kill most of the Cursed Seal Police Force within village. Despite the casualties and destruction, the Fifth Great Shinobi War proved to be a success. Hitori Uzumaki, younger brother of the war hero Hosuka Uzumaki, was made the Sixth Hokage and Konoha was officially restored as a formal shinobi village. The death of Minato Sarutobi does not mark the end of the war, however. The Purge was a ten-year period of relative peace, recovery and expedition in which every major village participated in hunting down those with the Seal of the Daimyō. The end of the Purge is most commonly accepted as the "end" of the Fifth Great Shinobi War, as it marked when Minato Sarutobi was no longer a threat.

    Second Hyūga Affair

The Second Hyūga Affair (第二日向の件, Dai Ni Hyūga no Ken) was an incident that occurred thirty-three years after the death of Minato Sarutobi and twenty-three years since the end of the Purge. Kumogakure had sent out several squadrons led by a member of their elite Kinkaku Squad in an attempt to kidnap a main branch Hyūga heir while a majority of Konoha forces were fighting in skirmishes with the Land of Water along the Eastern border. The Kumo-nin successfully escaped Konoha with two Hyūga children, effectively forcing Konoha to split their numbers. The Hyūga addressed the target in the North while Ayaka and Team Four of Konoha sought after the target heading West. While the Hyūga were unable to save their heir in the North, they were capable of tracking down and eliminating their target in time to rush East and save Ayaka, Team Four, and their heir. This event resulted in casualties to only the Hyūga Clan, but caused civil unrest in Konoha as it was the first time that an enemy struck so close to home in several decades.

Academy ― A huge building in Konohagakure located directly at the base of the Hokage Mountain. It is where prospective ninja are trained and where official ninja receive their assignments. It was founded by the Second Hokage out of military necessity. This building is also the Administrative Office, making it one of the most important buildings in the village. Because of this, it is suggested reading.

    Clans

Within the village there are many powerful and well respected clans. Of these there are four clans which are regarded as noble clans. These are the: Aburame, Akimichi, Hyūga and Uchiha clans — the latter of which was regarded as the most powerful clan in the village. All known clans in the village are:

    Aburame Clan
    Clan Head Tofune Aburame

The Aburame Clan was one of the most harshly persecuted clans in Konohagakure during the Era of the Daimyō. Because of the nature of their Hiden, Minato Sarutobi saw them and their practices as inherently problematic and offered them an ultimatum: forfeit and forget the Parasitic Destruction Insect Technique or face death. Many fled with their technique into the shadows. Some were caught and slaughtered. Some opted to forfeit their heritage to live in safety under the Daimyō. Regardless, this once-noble clan was reduced dwindling numbers and even fewer true shinobi.
    Akimichi Clan
    Clan Head Chōzen Akimichi

The Akimichi Clan transitioned into the Era of the Daimyō relatively well, and were in fact still regarded as nobility by Minato Sarutobi. Despite a few hot-headed individuals of the clan speaking out against Minato, and subsequently being killed, a majority of the Clan forfeit their techniques and embraced their culture in other ways, ranging from becoming chefs to joining the Daimyō police force.
    Hatake Clan
    Clan Head N/A

The Hatake Clan was also quick to forfeit their culture and become a civilian clan. Few Hatake shhinobi existed to begin with, and those that considered it now had no reason to. While the Hatake line is not dead, it is very shallow. Kakashi Hatake is essentially the shared ancestor of all current Hatake Clan members and he served as the Right Hand of Minato Sarutobi during his initial transition into the world and later on his council. He was instrumental in creating the initial rebellion by creating the first blind spots for them to exist, thus making the Hatake Clan a heroic one akin to the Nara, albeit significantly smaller.
    Hyūga Clan
    Clan Head Hayate Hyūga

The Hyūga Clan is a very unique case as they attempted to forfeit parts of their culture and teachings while retaining some of it. Minato Sarutobi and Hiashi Hyūga came to an agreement that use of the Byakugan would no longer be encourage, and if so, it would be for purposes useful to the village and/or economy. Additionally, the Gentle Fist fighting style was reduced to a meditative style, similar to Tai Chi, with all combat elements removed. In secret, the Hyūga Clan became advocates for 'working with the system' set in place during the Era of the Daimyō as to overcome it. Many Hyūga assisted in overthrowing the Cursed Seal Police Force in the Fifth Great Shinobi War.
    Inuzuka Clan
    Clan Head Gakuma Inuzuka

The Inuzuka Clan followed very similar footsteps as the Akimichi Clan. While a few hot-headed members of the Clan got themselves killed, many others chose to abide by rules set by Minato Sarutobi in an attempt to preserve the lives of their animal companions. The Inuzuka Clan later became part of an alliance with the Hyūga Clan and Nara Clan to help overthrow the Cursed Seal Police force.
    Miyamae Clan

    Clan Head Tetsuo Miyamae

The Miyamae Clan: A once small clan originating from the Land of Mountains. During the Fifth Shinobi War the clan became displaced, and wandered as refugees before re-establishing itself as part of the Hidden Leaf Village. The Miyamae have grown significantly, largely due to their policy of assimilating refugees and wanderers into their ranks. As such it is a clan that contains many cultures and peoples under one banner. This others huge diversity in its ranks, but has also led to factionalism between peoples.

    Background

Origins The clan was originally founded in the Land of Mountains. Chikako Miyamae, the clan matriarch, owned a hotel in the Land of Mountains. This hotel then expanded into a small village over the years as it took on more staff and built further accommodation. The hotel complex's relative isolation in the mountain passes made it a ripe target for bandits. As such, the Miyamae grew accustomed to defending themselves and their guests.

Major Event During the Fifth Shinobi War the Miyamae clan fled the Land of Mountains, seeking protection from one of the major Nations as Minato advanced. As they traveled they encountered many other, similarly dispaced refugees, and these newcomers were rapidly assimilated into the group. When they arrived at the Leaf Village there was little to distinguish the original Miyamae clansmen from their new brethren, and so the Leaf opted to treat the entire refugee collective as being under the Miyamae clan umbrella.

    Abilities

    General None

    Kekkei Genkai: None

Unique Traits: All members of the original Miyamae bloodline denote themselves with braided hair. Any other unique traits have long since been diluted from the gene pool.

    Notable Members

Taura Miyamae: Clan heir. Well traveled, knowledgeable of other cultures and respected within the clan. Is reluctant to assume control as it would mean setting aside her chance to become a Ninja.

Jirou Miyamae: Clan Leader and Taura's father. He is a leading member of the Miyamae's 'assimilation' faction, which believes that even those refugees who are not originally of Miyamae blood should be considered clan members upon acceptance by the clan leader.

Izumi Miyamae: Wife of Jirou, mother to Taura. Originally a refugee from the Land of Sound, she joined the Miyamae as they journey to the Leaf. A driven and ambitious woman, she is determined to see Taura take over leadership of the clan.
    Muranami Clan

    Clan Head Izume Muranami

The Muranami Clan - resides in Konohagakura no Sato as a minor clan associated with medicine that has been around for about seven generations. They specialize in chakra manipulation, more specifically chakra weaving. It is a medic center for shinobi and civilians alike, and also functions as an orphanage. For unknown reasons, the members born into the main branch have "me" at the end of their first names with the exceptions of Ken, Ren, and Kazuto Muranami.

    Background

Origins The clan was founded between the Third Great Shinobi War and the Fourth Great Shinobi by Ken Muranami. Ken Muranami was originally born in Konohagakure, but was the son of two civilians. As his older friends were all shinobi, he took the path to become a shinobi. Ken struggled his way to chuunin and developed his ninjutsu style during his time as a chunin. As he neared retirement, he founded an orphanage that housed civilians and shinobi who were orphaned as a result of the Third Great Shinobi War. They became family.

Major Event During the Third Great Shinobi War, Ken lost many friends and was allied with a puppet master who explained to him about his mastery of chakra strings and how he used it to control his puppets. Ken was not a puppet master, so he decided to somehow make chakra strings work with his fighting style in honor of his comrade. It was not until after the Third Great Shinobi War that he was able to finally come what with what he called chakra weaving. There were endless possibilities, he discovered with his children in the future.

During the Fourth Great Shinobi War, the Muranami Clan was still a minor clan, and they continued to develop their chakra weaving techniques. Since the clan housed civilians as well as shinobi, the civilians started to treat wounds that people did not bother taking to the hospital saying that "They could be useful too." Civilians began to eventually learn enough chakra control to perform the Unsealing Technique; later, it became a requirement for the clan members to be able to do at least the Unsealing Technique even if they chose not to become shinobi. Of course, some just couldn't manipulate chakra, but they were still made useful in the clinic. Eventually, people started to come to the Muranami clan for minor injuries they could not treat themselves or injuries they did not want to bother the hospital with. Now, the Muranami Clan stands as both an orphanage and a clinic run joint-run by a strange mix of civilians and shinobi.

During the Fifth Great Shinobi War, all training to become shinobi stopped immediately in fear of their family members being slaughtered. Although their orphanage and clinic was permitted to continue to exist, the Muranami Clan stopped being shinobi altogether. There were some protests throughout the family, but that soon stopped because everyone had someone they didn't want to lose in the family. They didn't want to risk any more deaths than necessary and stopped shinobi activity. However, they stilled practiced chakra control to seal and unseal materials in scrolls. In fear of that knowledge getting out, however, this was kept a secret from the rest of the world until the end of the Fifth Greath Shinobi War.

    Abilities

General The Muranami Clan is a clinic and orphanage, and their clan members are not all related by blood. The clinic is for the people who have injuries, but do not necessarily need to go to the hospital. Because of the clinic, all the clan members have at least basic knowledge of how to treat medical injuries even if they don't use medical ninjutsu. Their Hiden is Chakra Weaving. You will see almost all the clan members carry around a scroll with water, medical materials, and even some earthly objects for the use of their clan jutsu. Even if they are not ninja, they are required to learn basic chakra control and learn at least the unsealing technique.

    Chakra Weaving

Chakra weaving was "invented" by Ken Muranami, who pulled the idea from the way puppet masters manipulate chakra strings. Chakra weaving makes use of chakra strings, making thin strands of chakra and weaving them together into objects and/or persons. The weaved chakra ties back to the user in the form of chakra strings, but the chakra strings are not visible since they are thin. The main jutsus involving chakra weaving involve weaving chakra into liquid or earthly materials to move them. The reason this works is for earthly materials is because there is natural energy in those earthly materials, making it easier for the users to control the material. For example, if a user wanted to weave chakra into water, they would have to have a specific amount or area of water that they would want to weave their chakra into before weaving. If they wanted to weave chakra into, say, leaves, then they need only to weave a small amount of chakra that can be tied back to them. Control of the materials can be done with or without the use of jutsu/hand signs, but moving objects without the use of jutsu is very advanced and therefore, used by ninja who are at least experienced jonin. The user must touch the object they desire to weave their chakra long enough for them to weave the chakra and "leave their mark." For beginners, weaving chakra will take several moments. For experienced weavers, the process will only require a touch. The chakra strings are not easily broken, but if put up against a Hyuuga, a Muranami would be wise not to use chakra weaving often.

Chakra weaving can also be used on non-earthly material, such as kunai and shuriken, with enough training. However, it is much harder to control the movements of non-earthly materials. There are many different possibilities of how chakra weaving can be used such as weaving chakra to enhance defense, chakra weaving to change the projectile of a weapon, and chakra weaving to keep a person's mouth shut, which also applies to chakra weaving to "stitch" a wound.

Unique Traits Sensors are more likely to appear in this clan due to the required knowledge of basic chakra control early in their lives and history of chakra weaving masters.

    Nara Clan
    Clan Head Shikado Nara

The Nara Clan was one of the very first to join sides with Minato Sarutobi. In fact, none other than Shikamaru Nara acted as one of his councilmen and trusted advisers. The Nara Clan, through deceit, intelligent and espionage, were instrumental in bringing down Minato Sarutobi and were the originators of the secret alliance between the Inuzuka and Hyūga clans.
    Ningya Clan

    Clan Head Daisuke Ningya

The Ningya Clan – A clan of Puppeteers. Currently of the Land of Fire and loyal to Konohagakure.

    Background

Origins As the world was consumed under the Daimyo’s rule Sunagakure held fast against the storm. Eventually, though, even the greatest of Shinobi could not protect the nation from the immense, inhuman power of the Daimyo. Katsuo Ningya was a puppet master of the Sand who was lucky enough to escape the annihilation of Sunagakure from the Ten Tails Beast Bomb. He knew if he were to stay within the Sand he would likely be killed for being a Shinobi.

Some time ago word had reached Sunagakure of a forming resistance based in other villages, but specifically, Katsuo sought to make way towards the leaf: the Daimyo’s residence. The journey would have normally taken a mere 3 days, however, he could not take the main roads for fear of being discovered by the Daimyo Loyalists. Katsuo was able to hide his Chakra within his own puppets as he traveled, avoiding the watchful eye of the loyalists who sought unknown Chakra signals. Later, when the Land of Sand formed its own rebellion subsequent to its fall, Katsuo had the option to return but instead chose to stay in the leaf to be with Hikaru and his new comrades.

Two weeks since he departed, bloody and wounded from the lands of Sand, Katsuo arrived in the village he had been told was a hub for a still forming resistance against the Daimyo which destroyed his home, his family, and all those he held dear. It was here within the heart of the land of fire that the refugee Sand Shinobi found solace and a new home among comrades, fellow Shinobi, who sought to destroy the same tyrant as Katsuo himself strove to destroy. It was some time later he met Hikaru Mori, a civilian of the Leaf, to whom he would marry and birth him three children. Over the next century the clan would continue to grow as each subsequent generation had children of their own. Katsuo’s practice of puppeteering was passed down to each generation throughout the trials of the Daimyo, in secrecy while working with the rebels the clan’s skills continued to form throughout the age of tyranny until it was at last quelled.

Major Event The Ningya bloodline was all but destroyed with the fall of Sunagakure. Katsuo became the only living heir of the family of puppeteers and chose to flee to the leaf to escape the loss he suffered in his homeland. While in the Land of Fire he worked with the rebellion to destroy the Daimyo, not only for what he had lost, but for what his children would inherit. He would not get to see this wish fulfilled, but he and his descendants fought with the leaf through the century of Daimyo control and the events of the purge, eventually becoming accepted as Leaf Shinobi, and if not for their unique puppetmaster jutsu, the clan very well may have forgotten their original homeland all together.

    Abilities

General Puppet manipulation through Chakra strings.

    Kekkei Genkai N/A

Unique Traits Fine Chakra control; Aptitude for puppeteering

Notable Members Katsuo and Hikaru Ningya; founders, deceased. Akane Ningya; female puppeteer, highly regarded within the clan for her skill in manipulating a puppet with just a single Chakra thread. Daisuke Ningya: Current Clan head; known for his intricate control and ability to control exceptionally large puppets; regarded for his wisdom despite his middle age. Isamu Ningya: respected among the clan, involved in meetings and a skilled puppeteer; father of Juro Ningya (PC).

Person Juro Ningya (PC) > Isamu Ningya (father) and Mai Ningya
    Sarutobi Clan
    Clan Head Hidaeki Sarutobi

The Sarutobi Clan is another unique instance. As Minato Sarutobi took up the name Sarutobi, he immediately integrated himself with the clan. There was a lot of awkward unrest in the clan, and feelings of rage, shame and guilt seemed to seep into the clan. Some members of the clan, such as Konohamaru, spoke out and were even killed. Some others became advisers to Minato Sarutobi. In the end, the Sarutobi Clan attempted to shape Minato Sarutobi into a softer leader, and with their help, he accepted the compromise of the Hyūga Clan. However, shame and distrust within the village persist to this day because of Minato Sarutobi with the clan, and they are often neglected and ignored despite their roles in the Fifth Great Shinobi War.
    Senju Clan
    Clan Head Takeshi Senju

The Senju Clan took great offense to the changes, murders and degradation that Minato Sarutobi brought to Konohagakure. Many of them spoke out and were killed. Ultimately, the Senju Clan became a problematic force for Minato Sarutobi, so he simply removed them from all council and utterly forced them to stop practicing their jutsu and culture, resulting in the abrupt loss of Wood Release. Their Kekkei Genkai did live on in the resistance, however. Many Senju acted as sensei and trainers from the shadows for others joining the resistance, however, they did not partake in the espionage other clans did.
    Shimura Clan
    Clan Head Daisuke Shimura

The Shimura Clan was very similar to the Senju Clan, however, they abruptly changed their attitudes after seeing the fate of the Senju. The Shimura Clan often acted hand-in-hand with the Senju and Uzumaki Clans from within the shadows and convened with the Nara Clan to share information. The Shimura and Nara Clans acted as the central intelligence of the secret Shinobi Rebellion.

    Background

    Overview

The Uchūsei Clan (a portemonnaie word of 宇宙 / Uchū and 流星 / ūsei vaguely meaning "meteor shower through the galaxy") is a branch of an ancient clan dating back to the Warring State. They believe the universe as a whole is a conscious flow of energy, and often have contextually nihilistic views due to their belief that the stars and the galaxy will reign as needed.

    Major Event

During the Warring States period, the Honosume Clan (星の娘; Hoshi no musume meaning Daughter of the Stars), alongside the Senju and the Uchiha, were some of the very first clans to roam the lands, though they differed from other coalitions in that they were more removed from conflict, effectively only engaging others when needed and even then mostly on the defense. Their dedication towards their own interests and craft allowed the sizable clan to rise to power as knowledgeable and astronomy-focused shinobi instead of a clan of violence and warriors like most others. Many skilled artisans and craftsmen joined the clan not for its power, but for its stability and wisdom.

Inevitably, the Honosume aspired to be competitive with the other clans and vied for the Kekkei Genkai of other bloodlines. They had developed their own multi-faceted Hiden, but never manifested their own bloodline limit. Driven by Kasei Honosume, a former head of the Clan and a powerful, irascible man, their aspirations ultimately manifested in dozens of abductions involving children belonging to a variety of clans. Afterwards, most of them were forced into marriages within the Honosume in an effort to generate offspring that carried their original Kekkei Genkai and individual abilities, yet were still part of the Clan. While resistance was a given on multiple ends and dealt with accordingly, the sheer number of attempts lead to success in acquiring a variety of mixed-breed branches, making the clan grow to such numbers that others, even those of high might like the Uchiha, eventually refused to fight against them, enabling the Honosume even further.

While the Honsume continue to prosper in aspects of power and numbers, the generations emerging over the years diverged into a plethora of individual branches, consistently eliciting tension within their own ranks. The generally matriarchal clan, growing disgusted with the methods Kasei used, revolted, resulting in what was essentially a civil war within the clan. Delayed only shortly with immense effort from the head and his council, the downfall of the Honosume was inevitable. While only lasting a short duration, the actual conflict of the war was severe, lead to the main branch, the "original, pureblood" Honosume, being wiped out. With no direct leadership nor any form of harmonic opinion of each other, the sub-branches upheld their animosity and dissolved into groups thin enough that other clans could effectively attack them and even eliminate them if they did so desire.

One of the remaining bloodlines that had spawned under the banner of the former astronomer clan was the Uchūsei branch. Not only were they weakened by the massive conflict of their own people, they also had to face the threat of the genuine Uchiha - the clan the Uchūsei related to through the merciless breeding regiment of the Honosume. As a result of the severely hostile environment, the Uchūsei, now lead by Tsuki Honosume, a Kunoichi of such great talent she was dubbed the Moon Presence, migrated to the Land of Wind, where the desolate environment ironically provided greater safety. There, despite incredible combative talent of their leader, they forsook the way of the shinobi and instead become a nomadic community of philosophers, traders and even a few remaining craftsmen from the Honosume. It was this generation that wrote the scrolls which contain all original Uchūsei jutsu.

Sick of war and its consequences, the now quasi-pacifistic Uchūsei did not partake in the first two Great Shinobi Wars, instead continuing their trading ways. Though they still possessed knowledge of their formerly competent levels of shinobi techniques and had scrolls containing instructions for the training of their shinobi, the Uchūsei continued their exile from the battlefield and instead acquired protection by hiring mercenaries for protection.

In stark contrast to the previous wars - and oddly fortuitous in its own right - the Third Shinobi War was a blessing to the now peaceful tribe, with no small part due to Third Hokage's decision to permit cross-border trading with the Land of Wind. Later, this same mentality of open-trade lead to the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind to opening their borders. Accordingly, the Uchūsei thrived with this new-found access to a larger market and flourished considerably in terms of wealth and renown. Similarly, the Fourth War played out almost even more positively for the astronomers, many of whom now utilized advancements in technology to create settlements in the Land of Fire to house their immense telescopes. While the immediate conflict brought along some disturbance, as the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind were opposites in terms of treatment by the Daimyo, the Uchūsei had to forsake their routes temporarily in the Land of Fire, instead only trading within the Land of Wind and maintaining their observatories in the Land of Fire. To their luck, the lifestyle they had built over the previous decades was, in its entirety, perfectly acceptable to the new Daimyō. Once he marched on Sunagakure, the trade markets for the Clan were opened back up and the Clan thrived as much as if not even more so than before.

Under the banner of Sarutobi, Hideo Uchūsei joined the Daimyō's police force and received a Cursed Seal. Re-learning the ancient techniques of the Clan proved no small challenge, but Hideo brought them back to great effect and popularity. While Hideo himself didn't show any signs of unusual development with his Curse Mark, his eventual offspring most definitely did as Cursed Children. This first generation of Cursed Children created an extraordinary set of circumstance: not only did the augmented-DNA of their father awaken the forgotten technique, it bastardized it, forming a new version of a lost dōjutsu. The Cursed Seal contained minute pieces of Minato Sarutobi himself, which meant it contained the last remnants of true Uchiha DNA that existed. When this was passed down to the next generation, the mutations that normally resulted in Cursed Children, this time resulted in a whole new Kekkei Genkai, proven when Gala, daughter of Hideo, was the first Uchūsei to carry the Tentaigan.

Gala showed almost unprecedented growth, performing techniques the Uchūsei had forgotten eras ago, never written down on scrolls - all without the aid of a tutor. Noticeably, all of her clan jutsu - both the legendary ones hidden away in scrolls and those she relearned through natural practice - were augmented by her dōjutsu. By the age of eighteen, Gala was immensely powerful, outmatching her father whom was considered a master of the Clan techniques. As the reign of Sarutobi found its drastic end, Hideo, now a target trying to evade being purged, fled from his clan, leaving primarily non-fighting Uchūsei behind.

Due to her valuable skill set, Gala - now the undisputed premiere fighter of the clan, and additionally supported by the Uchūsei's matriarchal tendencies - was appointed head of the clan. Though her diligent and enthusiastic nature aided her with settling in, the transition was shaky at best, due to her lack of leadership skills and her pregnancy. Like many Uchūsei, motherhood came early to the competent shinobi and the clan soon welcomed a new addition - Khalee. Khalee would receive training by her mother from an early age.

While the young girl did not seem to possess the natural prowess of her mother, she held immense potential, as she was given crucial training in areas few people could tutor, such as her cursed chakra. As a result, Khalee developed an immensely controlled and unshakable personality during conflicts. Shortly after Khalee turned 19, Gala deemed her strong and wise enough to replace her without worry. Truthfully, the circumstances of her nomination had always left a sour taste in her mouth, and she did not think particularly highly of her performance as head of the clan. While Gala went on what would probably best be described as a sabbatical, Khalee was quickly accepted as the Uchūsei's new leader and has remained in position ever since.

    Abilities

    General

    ● The Uchūsei tend to naturally lean towards an almost dance-like fighting style, often moving and striking in motion patterns close to techniques like Capoeira.

    ● The clan has a distinct lack of interest in weaponry, instead focusing heavily on the aforementioned fighting style.

    ● It is extremely common for the members of the clan to have offspring at a very young age, with recent examples being Gala (mother at age nineteen) and Shihe (Father at age sixteen)

    ● A list of all Honosume and Uchūsei Hiden Jutsus known:

Emissary of God 星界からの使者 Tethered into the deep roots of the astronomic focus of the Clan, this technique manifests physically by creating circulating rings resembling those of a planet that are able to deflect incoming damage and covers portions (or all, in later stages) of the user's body in a peculiar mineral for boosted defense. Depending on the user's proficiency, the amount, density and movement speed of the rings and the mineral can be affected, and can essentially range through threat levels C, B and A.

Emissary of a Roaring God 星界からの使者 A jutsu developed by Gala Uchūsei whom used her fully matured Tentaigan to utilize all five elemental chakra releases simultaneously, vastly improving the base technique. This jutsu manifests primarily using Fire Release, presumably due to the inherited predisposition for it and resulting in the mineral from before turning into a more mobile lava. The use of this technique drastically empowers other Emissary of God Hiden as well as allows for the use of several Hiden created by Gala. Most notably, this jutsu allows the user access to all Emissary of God Hiden regardless of which element release they are.

When used in conjunction with Cursed Chakra, this version of the Emissary technique surrounds the user in a magenta glow, while the mineral and lava take over the entirety of the user's frame. Additional rings spawn around the user, and offensive capabilities increase. Body temperature increases heavily and can have drawbacks for inexperienced or unfocused users.

TaiyōkeiBLADE 太陽系BLADE This technique allows the user to store chakra inside the planetary ring of its parent technique, and functions similar to mines. They unleash heavy amounts of chakra upon contact with enemies, be it by being blocked during an offensive maneuver or by being "sliced" at while making use of the technique offensively.

Sethlans' Wrath The user momentarily prioritizes chakra flow in his/her leg area, increasing the temperature of the entrapped "lava". Offensive maneuvers such as kicks or knee strikes gain not only power, but carry potentially scorching temperatures. The uneven chakra distribution can lead to loss of the defensive rings and/or upper body armor.

WRETCHED Ryūseigun (or Wretched Meteor Shower) is a jutsu in which the user summons meteors-like projectiles out of their physique and shoots them towards opponents. This technique only available to users who have mastered the Emissary of a Roaring God technique.

    Kekkei Genkai

    ● Tentaigan (天体眼) - The Celestial Eye: The Tentaigan is the result of a mutated dōjutsu, influenced by not only cursed chakra, but also the Uchiha’s predisposition for Sharingan. It physically manifests as a light-magenta glow with a pitch black miniature solar system stretching across the eyeball of the user. It grants the ability to see chakra (and any irregularities), as well as incredible clarity of perception, which enables skills such lip reading and minor motion mimicking. When developed through training, these perceptive abilities can become predictive capabilities.

This dōjutsu possesses a mature form that allows those who carry it to tap into all five elements without the need to overtly train to use them.

    Unique Traits

    ● All Uchūsei have a deep connection to nature and the galaxy itself. As such, they tend to be great astronomers and have a natural curiosity.

    Notable Members

    Historic excerpt:

    ● Ahe Honosume; the first Honosume historically recorded.

    ● Kasei Honusume; the last pure Honosume clan head publically known and responsible for the introduction of the dōjutsu and other Kekkei Genkai of outsider clans.

    ● The Unknown Bride; an Uchiha. Forced to birth Honusume.

    ● Tsuki Honosume; a terribly powerful member of the second generation of the Uchūsei branch and sacrificer of the Shinobi ways in difficult times.

    ● Hideo Uchūsei; Gala's father and part of the reason the Uchiha bloodline has found its way into the current day to the extent it is.

    ● Gala Uchūsei; first Cursed Children in the Uchūsei branch, first user of the Tentaigan and the cursed chakra version of the Emissary of God technique. Generally regarded as the most important member of the Uchūsei family.

    ● Khalee Uchūsei; daughter of Gala, mother of Shihe, and first and only person to fully master the Emissary of a Roaring God technique as well as aquire a matured version of the Tentaigan. Though reserved and seemingly mundane in behavior now, she is a mysterious figure. Current head of the clan. Largely considered the most powerful Uchūsei

    ● Shihe Uchūsei; Khalee's son. Thought of as a "pure" warrior, and as such well respected.

    Uzumaki Clan
    Clan Head Hitori Uzumaki

The Uzumaki Clan acted primarily as an offshoot of the Senju Clan, however, they were not persecuted the same as the Senju. After seeing how their cousins were treated, the entire Uzumaki Clan vanished and effectively became the 'shadows' of Konoha. The Uzumaki were the backbone of the rebellion and worked alongside the Senju and Shimura to overthrow the Cursed Seal Police Force and even Minato Sarutobi during the Fifth Great Shinobi War.
    Yamanaka Clan
    Clan Head Fūjen Yamanaka

The Yamanaka Clan was almost as well-off as the Nara and likely even more than the Akimichi. The Yamanaka helped create new medicine in the absence of healing techniques and most became nurses as well was botanists. The Yamanaka played essentially no part in the Fifth Great Shinobi War, but they managed to persist through the Era of the Daimyō fairly easily.

    Shinobi in Konohagakure

The regular forces (正規部隊, Seiki Butai) form the foundation of the village and its shinobi system. The majority of shinobi are a part of these forces and together, either individually or in teams, they perform the majority of the missions the village receives. They are also tasked with the various duties within the organisation, such as training and administrative duties.

When an Academy student graduates, they usually become a part of these forces, assuming the rank of genin. Via various exams and tests, they can be promoted to higher ranks, first to chūnin and jōnin after that. Sometimes, when a shinobi is specialised in a very specific skill, they can assume the rank of tokubetsu jōnin, which is a rank between chūnin and jōnin.

    Hokage

The Hokage are the leaders of Konohagakure. They are generally acknowledged as the strongest in the village, although ideology and renown plays a large part in their nomination for the position. Five shinobi and one kunoichi have gained this title so far for a total of six Hokage since the founding of Konoha. The current Hokage is Hitori Uzumaki, a famous war veteran from the Fifth Great Shinobi War and the younger brother of the man dubbed the greatest hero of the war, Hosuka Uzumaki.

    ANBU

The Anbu (暗部, English TV: Anbu Black Ops, Literally meaning: Dark Side), short for Ansatsu Senjutsu Tokushu Butai (暗殺戦術特殊部隊, Literally meaning: Special Assassination and Tactical Squad), are covert operatives dispatched by their Kage. The ANBU are often elite Jōnin with specialized skills and techniques.

    Jōnin

Jōnin (上忍, Literally meaning: High Ninja) are generally highly-experienced shinobi with great individual skill who serve as military captains. They are often sent on A-rank missions, and experienced jōnin may even be sent on S-rank missions (which are considered to be the greatest difficulty). It is not unusual for jōnin to go on missions alone. Jōnin are generally able to use at least two types of elemental chakra, proficient genjutsu, and decent taijutsu skills. Promotion to Jōnin requires approval by the Hokage and is often rewarded opposed to requested.

    Tokubetsu Jōnin

Tokubetsu Jōnin (特別上忍, Literally meaning: Special High Ninja, sometimes known as Tokujō for short) are ninja who, rather than all-around jōnin training, have jōnin-level ability in a specific area or skill, much like warrant officers in real-world militaries. They are elite specialists in their areas and are often assigned as subordinates to regular jōnin when their services are needed. This rank is often rewarded to a shinobi, but can also be requested. Often, if this rank is requested and the Hokage approves it, it is for the sake of that shinobi being put on harder missions for more experience.

    Chūnin

Chūnin (中忍, Literally meaning: Middle Ninja) are ninja who are qualified to guide other ninja and lead missions. Chūnin have reached a level of maturity and ability that primarily consists of leadership skills and tactical prowess. Genin who do not have the skills to become chūnin are weeded out in the Chūnin Exams. Some of them, like Iruka Umino, Daikoku Funeno and Suzume move on to function as Academy teachers and others, like Shikamaru Nara, serve as team leaders in charge of small teams who need to make decisions and utilize the skills of the shinobi under their command to the maximum effect. Chūnin are typically sent on C-rank or B-rank missions. Squads of Chūnin, however, can be sent on B-rank or even A-rank missions depending on the situation, and are considered to be the bulk of the regular forces. Most Chūnin can use at least one type of elemental jutsu and are normally proficient in their most focused type of jutsu (ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, etc.).

    Genin

Genin (下忍, Literally meaning: low ninja) are the lowest level of ninja and also the ones that display the most difference in power. When they become genin, ninja start to do their bit for their village's economy – being sent on missions that the village gets paid for. They are typically sent either on D-rank missions, which are almost entirely risk-free jobs of manual labour, or, rarely, on C-rank missions, which are a cut above that and begin to verge on real "ninja" work that have a very low possibility of risk to the ninja involved. Most academy students become genin around the age of twelve with the oldest potentially being sixteen. Few genin use elemental jutsu or genjutsu and most focus on refining the basics of the academy as well as their taijutsu. Genin near promotion may exhibition traits closer to a chūnin, but this is rare as they are normally promoted in the next Chūnin exams.

    Academy Student

Academy students (忍者学校生, Akademī-sei) make up the student body of the Academy, where they are trained and prepared for life as a shinobi. They are not an actual part of the shinobi force, as they are still in the process of mastering the very basics of the ninja lifestyle. However, they can be conscripted as part of the war potential in times of emergency. A series of physical challenges and a written test are normal requirements to graduate the Academy. In addition to the aforementioned tests, students are required to properly use the Transformation Technique and Clone Technique to graduate. There are rare exceptions to graduation without passing all three tests, such as exemplary results in another.
