Seeking Doors: Magic and Curiosity

M X F. Modern Fantasy. A travelling magician arrives in the modern city that a human girl lives in. He seems like a hack at first - cheap tricks and not very good at them, not to mention a bit awkward on stage. 
Or so she thinks, until she catches him bargaining with real supernatural creatures, using magic straight out of a book, involved with things that shouldn't be real or possible. It turns out he is a Door Seeker, someone who looks for doorways between realities, and his awkward magician persona is just a front to protect his true identity. Now she's involved and he is trying to protect her, but in a world of magic, mystery and danger, will her own curiousity be her undoing?

I literally just threw up some random title, but it can be easily changed if you've got something in mind you'd like. Here you go though :3

[SIZE=14.666666666666666px]Archie stands at 6 ft and gives the word 'dishevelled' a whole new meaning. Other things that come to mind are "homeless" (which he supposes he can't completely fault you for)  [/SIZE][SIZE=14.666666666666666px]"in-need-of-a-shower" and his personal favourite, "mad with a pinch of eccentricity".[/SIZE]


[SIZE=14.666666666666666px]It isn't that he comes across as dangerous - quite the opposite in fact - but he is definitely easily dismissable in a way one would refuse to look at a drunk man in a pub for fear they might strike up a conversation with you. When not working, Archie wears a tawny trench-coat complete with the occasional patch and large mismatched buttons. He bundles up in more layers of grey and black underneath then one would think necessary, included a black knit jumper and a pale grey scarf that he tucks into his collar at all times, giving him the look of a puffy-chested bird. When not swept up in some new magical problem, he is often seen slouching his way through streets, making him appear shorter then he actually is. He can sometimes be seen sporting a pair of grimey looking fingerless gloves, and occasionally the odd elbow-protector for reasons he doesn't seem interested in explaining.[/SIZE]


[SIZE=14.666666666666666px]Archie has an untamable shock of caramel coloured hair that enjoys flicking up at the ends. It does this naturally and it's probably never seen a brush. He has bright green eyes and a slight accent that suggests scottish. Occasionally he can be seen sporting a splattering of stubble that perhaps with enough time and love might one day grow into an Actual Beard. The thing of legends.[/SIZE]



[SIZE=14.666666666666666px]When working, Archie wears a variety of different clothing, depending on the city/country/world he is operating from. One of his personal favourites is a pinstripe white and yellow button down, coupled with suspenders and a cat-in-the-hat style... hat of the same colours. Occasionally he'll wear a bowtie and slight platform shoes to bring it all, horrifically, together.[/SIZE]

Despite being an adult woman, Cosmos has an exceedingly youthful face. Many often believe her to still be a high school student, or maybe a freshman in college. It's her "vampire's curse" as she calls it. She's not short, but she is also not tall by any means. She's an average height girl of 5'4" with a face that never ages.


She's a rather petite young woman, although it's rather difficult to tell as she keeps herself clothed in long trench coats and heavy jackets. Cosmos' style is rather monochromatic, usually consisting of blacks, greys, and the occasional dash of color. She's almost always seen wearing a beanie, although she has been known to switch it for more formal options when the fancy strikes her. She carries around a penguin backpack with her everywhere, although many would be forgiven for thinking it to be a stuffed toy. This penguin shows signs of having been well loved for many years, and actually acts as Cosmos' personal "business partner", as she puts it. Dubbed Professor Slip'n'Slide, Cosmos keeps everything she thinks might come in handy inside of him. This includes money, IDs, keys, pens and pencils, a flash light, business cards, a change of clothes, a suit, a can opener, some plastic utensils, and a pack of gum.


Cosmos is eerily pale, and is often jokingly described as having a neon glow in the dark. It wasn't really so noticeable back when she had her original blonde hair--at least so long as it wasn't nighttime--but Cosmos hasn't been blonde in years. Her waist length hair has instead been dyed black, creating a stark contrast against her skin. The tips and underside of her hair are a pastel blue, giving her normally casual appearance a small dash of elegance and intrigue. Her eyes are a pale green, appearing gentle and calm.


She has an adventurous air to her, with a hint of mischief just hiding in plain sight. She's the kind of person who simultaneously seems relaxed and laid back, as well as poised and ready to jump into action at any second. She has no problem wearing even the most regal of dresses, yet seems equally comfortable wearing a pair of jeans. If left to her own accord though, even an elegant gown becomes more casual on Cosmos, as she will wear a pair of sneakers and jacket with it should no one attempt to stop her. Perhaps it's her troublemaker streak and need to stir up some interest, but she rather enjoys adding a nontraditional spin to her special occasion outfits, such as donning a cape and tuxedo to a school dance.

@Kindred I still feel like she needs more, but here is Cosmos. I tried to make her walk the line between seemingly normal human being to complete oddball who might steal your shoelaces just 'cause.
