In Smith High School, there is one person outside of the spotlight keeping everyone safe. No one has heard of the hero and they prefer it that way, but what will happen when their identity is discovered? Will they be able to continue to keep the school safe?

Abella walked down the halls of her school, shoulders back and looking above the crowd. It was almost as if an aura of confidence surrounded her and each perfect step in her heeled shoes was proud and loud. Her orange colored hair bobbed in the air, curls falling just as they should as she went. There wasn't a single person who didn't know her name in the school, be that because they loved or hated her. She was at the height of popularity within the school, maybe even within the town. She moved more quickly then usual though, as if there was somewhere to be, and as she left the school it was almost as if the building dimmed. At least that was how she saw it.

Abella was more then just some pretty face though, her life outside of school was not nearly as well known as it was during school. She didn't spend time with friends and didn't go out very much, making her an elusive sight outside of the halls. Instead her time was spent on the streets in disguise, not seen as a popular high school-er anymore but as a crime fighting hero. This identity was more of a myth though, most people had never heard of the hero, and that's what she preferred, any attention only made it easier for her real identity to be found. The heroine took a quick turn around the corner into the back door of an abandoned store and set her school bag on to the floor. She then went into a crushed cupboard and pulled out a small black duffle bag. She unzipped it and pulled out a few articles of clothing, all in dark colors and pulled them on, including a leather jacket with a hood attached. She put the outfit on then took out two last items, but from her school bag instead, an earpiece which she pulled over the back of her ear and a delicate mask that covered around her eyes. As she left the store Abella took a water bottle from her bag and applied a pale pink lip gloss. She was ready to go and save the town.

Archer had growled in frustration as he zoomed out his door. He had been late for school and he hadn't even noticed until one of his gaming mates had informed him of the time and he simply threw on whatever the hell was around. "Ah! Why does that game have to be so damn addicting, I swear I'll be dead before I know it." He had muttered to himself as he kept running which surprised him considering he wasn't really all that fit but if it's what got him to school then there was no need to question the breaking of limits on his own body. He made a last second decision take a shortcut past an abandoned store and he turned the corner quickly and got to the store only to stop to catch his breath when he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. Someone was there. He didn't know who or why but someone was most certainly around. He didn't know why but he took the moment to hide from whoever. His heart began to race. Was his dream of being a hero about to come true? If whoever was around was doing something bad, then it most certainly be his time to shine but what if was actually nothing more than a street cat making a ruckus.

Archer shook his head. No, his life about to change. He didn't know how or why but he simply felt it in his chest that taking this shortcut was the best decision he had ever made.

Abella walked down the street at a quick pace as she sipped at her water. She moved her hand to the device behind her ear, and turned it on, a surge of energy went through her body, a feeling almost as if she had only just woken up, the world seemed clearer then before. She began to look down each alley in the dingy neighborhood for trouble. She was sure that there was something off and she needed to fix it. As she went, out of the corner of her eye she noticed some kid walking along, nothing to be concerned about and she forgot about him almost as quickly as she had noticed him.

Suddenly Abella heard a noise coming from up ahead, She ran as quickly as she could towards the noise. She heard a second noise coming from the left, possibly a scream? She turned and continued in its direction, only to find herself in front of an apartment building. She looked up to see someone standing on the edge of the roof, a terrified look on their face and a large man with a knife standing behind them. She could vaguely hear him laugh. She peered in front of the building to see a pot, banged up and lying on the ground. Likely what made the noise to start with.

Abella jumped into action running to the side of the building where the fire escape was but she was out of the sight of the people. Once she made it to the fire escape, she began to run up it with making as little noise as possible. Once about half way up, the escape stopped, the stairs had been taken off to the next level. Abella reached out with her hand and a thick vine emerged from her wrist and wrapped around the floor of the next level. She grabbed the vine with both of her hands and pulled herself up to the next level. She then pulled the vine off of the structure and let in hang from her wrist, as she ran up the last two flights, the vine wrapped its self around her arm but Abella didn't even notice. Once at the top Abella stood for a moment to evaluate the situation and figure out how to act.

Archer had seen whoever was in the store quickly run away. "W-What the?" He uttered as he followed the masked figure with surprising stealth and speed, keeping up with the figure but also managing to keep out of their sight. This was a rush. It was times like this he wished he had his compound bow with him. He adjusted the goggles on his head and kept following the masked figure only to see them dip into an ally and then begin to climb a fire escape. He was just about to call out to them when he noticed something green shot out of where their wrist should be. "What the hell?" He questioned he stood still. He didn't want to lose figure so instead of standing there pondering what he just saw, he looked around for and eventually found an alternate route to keep up with the figure. He made it to a building within jumping distance of the building the masked figure was onto. He gritted his teeth and prepared for another chase while keep out of her line of sight.

The man tapped the person on the back with the knife and laughed, "You wanna tell me yet?" He asked the person, Abella could tell it was another man now in a business suit. She decided to act on instinct. The girl went up behind the man silently and extended the vine once again, it wrapped around the large man's neck quickly, and pulled him away from the smaller man and onto the ground. The vine let go and once again wrapped around her wrist as she stood over him. "You want to co-operate or am I gonna have to knock you out?" She asked the man. He quickly took a swing at her. Abella took the punch and returned with a hard kick to the stomach causing him to fall back. The man on the edge of the building had turned and Abella yelled at him. "Grab that rope and throw it to me." The man picked up a dusty rope and threw it to the girl. Abella caught it and pulled it around the large man's wrists and feet tightly. She then dragged him over to the door of the building and tied him to the door. "Do you have a phone?" She asked the smaller man, he nodded, "Phone the police and tell them what happened." With that Abella ran off and down the fire escape once again, this time jumping the lost stairs.

There was no way this person, or should he say girl given the tone of her voice, was real. She took that guy like it was nothing, he was without a doubt two times her size. Archer looked in awe but then snapped out of his chase and followed the masked crusader once again but with much need stealth. If this girl was what he presumed to be super human than she must have noticed his presence by now and was simply ignoring him because he held no relevance. Just the thought of that actually made him a little disappointed but it wouldn't be so bad if he could find out who's underneath the mask. At this point school was indeed in second place, the identity of this 'super heroine' took priority.

Once Abella made it to the bottom of the stairs and started to run off but as she did she looked up to see a boy standing on the building next to the one she had been on, "Shoot," She muttered under her breath. He had probably seen all of it. Sometimes in her mind frame she would tend to miss things such as spectators, she just hoped that he would forget about it. She slowed down once she was around the corner and walked. A small beep went off in her ear and Abella felt the device in her ear turn off. She fell to the ground trying to catch her breath, she had used to much energy, without the help of the device her stanima and strength was hardly better then any human. The small device worked like an indoor growing light, she put it behind her ear where she could grow vines and the mixture of concentrated sunlight and water would help her be stronger. Abella put her hood down in hopes of gaining enough energy from the sun to be able to get back up.

Archer had hid a perfectly reasonable distance from her. He managed to peak out of his hiding spot and watch the mysterious figure lower her hood and his eyes widened slightly. Her hair was just so familiar but he couldn't for the life of him put his name on who he had seen with that hair color. He stood there pondering it for a moment before a single face and a single name had come into mind. Abella. He gritted his teeth, the temptation to call out that name and see if he was right was far too high. He opened his mouth but quickly closed it. He shook his head, he wanted to be one hundred percent certain that it was who he thought it was. He felt his heart race quicken. This was far more exciting right now than any game he had ever played in his entire life.

After a few minutes of lying on the ground Abella pulled herself back up and moved her hood back over her head. She trudged very slowly back, slouching slightly out of exhaustion. She hoped that she would be able to make it back to her hideout before she passed out. The vine around her wrist began to droop, without enough energy to hang on anymore and Abella pulled it into her sleeve having forgotten to do that earlier so that it wouldn't be seen. Her vision was slightly blurred but she kept going until she had made it back to the store. She was more thankful to see the banged up walls then she had been for anything in a while. As she entered she didn't bother to close the door and slumped up against a wall, then slipped into a sleep.

Archer wait just a few minutes before he slowly followed the figure and he realized that they were back at the store that he had originally spotted her at. This must be her hideout then. It was a good one too, no one really bothered to come by the place since it no longer has life. Archer kept his distance for a while longer before he saw the figure walk inside the store and left the door open. He sucked in his breath before slowly approaching the door and peering inside. There he saw the girl, slumped against the wall. Clearly sleeping given the soft sound coming from her. He stood still before slowly and quietly approaching the sleeping girl. Was he really about to reveal the identity of this heroine? Did he even have the courage to come into contact with her? He pondered this for a moment. He might never have this chance again. He sucked in his breath and held it as he slowly removed her hood and slowly removed the mask that originally covered her face and he took several steps back when her identity became very clear to him. It was Abella. She was one of the most popular girls in school. What was she doing fighting crime? He had so many questions he wanted to ask and in his train of thought he ended tripping and landing on his backside.

Abella woke up to the noise of something falling. She rubbed her eyes was she pushed herself forward off of the wall "What was that?" She asked herself sleepily. As she finished waking up her eyes the blurry blob of whatever fell became the shape of a boy, not just any boy though, the one that had watched her earlier. Quickly Abella felt for the mask that should have been on her face and noticed it wasn't there as she moved to grab it she felt her hair fall back. Had the little creep followed her here and then taken her hood and mask off? Her face got hot as she realized what happened and she grabbed the boy by the collar of his shirt. She looked at his face and realized how bad the situation really was, he was some nerdy guy from her school. "What the heck are you doing here?" She yelled into his face. Before he had the chance to answer she shoved him aggressively up against a wall. She couldn't believe this had really happened, it was the one thing she had feared.

"W-What am I doing here? I should be asking you the same thing, right?" Archer responded, dusting himself after being so rudely shoved aside like a ragdoll. "I can't believe this is happening..." Archer muttered to himself as he removed his goggles as he ran his fingers through his hair. He stared in silence at the floor. Unsure of what to do or what to say right now. He wanted to tell himself that this wasn't real that was a dream, a waking dream. He came to accept that this was no dream. The girl everyone pretty much loves at school, stands before him as some sort of vigilante whose identity has just been revealed.

"No, you shouldn't! You don't have a right to be here! Your just some geeky idiot trying to find some real life superman or something, getting his nose in other peoples business!!" Abella paced around the room pulling her hair in in frustration, until she finally decided to sit down and put her face in her arms. She looked down at the floor, she was terrified. Terrified that he would tell someone, that her life would be ruined by some idiot nerd. She spoke quietly and not really directly to the boy "You couldn't have just stayed out of my hair? All I was trying to do was help people and this is the thanks I get?" Abella looked up and leaned back on the wall to see him looking at the ground, "What's with the pity party? Your life wasn't just ruined by some idiot," She saw the goggles in his hand and added, "And in some stupid goggles at that."

Archer clenched the goggles in his hand. "H-Hey, no need to insult what I wear. I'm not insulting your choice of clothing am I? Anyway, It's not like you even allowed to this. Vigilantism is actually illegal these days. Trust me, I checked. Other wise you'd see me running around instead having to deal with it yourself. Besides, you should be glad it's me that found you and no one else. Do you know what people would really do a sleeping girl in an abandoned building?" Archer said. He took a deep breath before kneeling down in an attempt to be on her eye level. "Also, I'm not throwing a pity party, in fact if anything else. I'm both shocked and impressed."

Abella was a bit impressed by the boys courage when it came to how he spoke to, she decided not to respond to his comment about her clothes as she really didn't feel like fighting about such trivial things. Abella took another water bottle out of her bag and opened it while the boy spoke, she took a drink from it, then responded, "Don't get caught then," She paused for a moment then added, "Guess I failed that one though. And I don't have to worry about creepy stalkers watching me sleep most of the time. People don't really come to this area of town very often." She took another drink and let the boy finish, "Hrm, thanks I guess?" She took a deep breath and finally asked the question that had been going through her head sense she first saw him, "So, What are you going to do then?"

Archer shrugged. "I was planning on going to school but...I think I'd rather not. I'll just head on home since I'm late anyway." He scratched the back of his head and then stretched. "What about you, hmm? You don't look like you're going to school either" Archer folded his arms across his chest and stared blankly at the girl before looking around and then putting his goggles back on and smiling at Abella. "Well, I guess I shouldn't stick around to long. You probably have things to do, clothes to change and sticking around like a perv isn't on my agenda." Archer said, motioning to bag nearby that seemed to have clothes inside since no one would walked outside dressed the way she is.

Abella moved in front of the door in an intimidating manner, hands crossed and legs wide, as to take up the entire door. "No, I meant what are you going to do about this? Do you seriously think I'd just let you leave after knowing that you saw all of that?" She had regained enough energy that it would be no problem for her to beat up the kid pretty badly if she had to and she didn't want any of what he saw getting out. She had no problem hurting him if she had to, in fact she would rather go to jail then let the kid squeal.

Archer looked at Abella with a confused expression on his face. He closed his eyes and placed a finger on his chin, lost in thought before it finally hit him. "Oh, right, right. Keeping your identity hidden, I get it, I get it. Well, think about this for a moment. The way you sound, you probably are planning on beating me to a pulp here but what about afterwards? Does beating me up really silence me? Killing me wouldn't do you any good either. So, what are you going to do about this is the really question here."

"Man, your making it tough. I didn't want to beat you up to be honest but maybe I will sense you suggested it," She came closer to him and spoke with a harsh voice, "And I want to make it clear that killing you will do the job and I would much rather go to jail then have my secrets get out." She moved back again and gave him a bit of space. "So I think that I'll just have you hang out here for a little while until you can make up your mind and stop trying to play mind games with me." Abella turned and closed the door, then turned on a small oil lamp for some extra light. She then sat back on the door and picked up a pocket knife she had attached to her belt loop, she flicked it open and closed as she waited for him to respond.

Archer looked at the knife and stifled some laughter. He quickly cleared his throat. "W-Well, I'm not playing mind games with you Abella. I don't even really think this would be the appropriate time to do so, you know? So why don't we just the put the knife away and be calm about this whole thing alright?" Archer suggested, as he stepped back and looked around for a moment. "Wish I had my bow..." He uttered to himself as he closed his eyes.

Abella started to giggle, "Knife isn't for you...yet," She replied and pulled the vine out from her sleeve, it had managed to become a bit more firm but was still fairly weak. She pulled it tight with her teeth and cut it off with her other hand, very close to her own skin. "Don't worry, it doesn't hurt. It's just the only way to get rid of them after they've served their purpose, it's like cutting hair." She then took her earpiece off and did the same for the vine behind her ear. She showed her wrist to the boy and it looked as if there had never been anything there. She smiled and put the knife back. "I still want to hear your decision though, and this is the last time I'm going to ask. What are you going to do about this?"

"I'm not going to do anything. I won't say a word. Is that what you wanted to hear?" Archer asked, raising a brow at the vines that seemed to have come out of nowhere. She was definitely superhuman. He wanted to ask so many questions yet he dare not do such a thing, he didn't want to get on her bad side any more than he already has. He cleared his throat again and backed away some more, looking around until he found a window he could leap out of. He gave Abella a dismissive wave before making a mad dash and then leapt out of the window and once he was out, he didn't even bother looking back. His goal was to get to his house his only chance of getting away from her, well,...besides school but she easily deal with him there. He was pretty sure she didn't know where he lived.

"Pretty much," she shrugged, then added, "But if I hear a word about this from anyone, your the first one dead." She was pretty satisfied with the answer. That is until he tried to make a run for it. "C'mon really?" She muttered then as quickly as she could, she got up and after him. She was able to catch up fairly quickly and stay on his tail. She didn't want to let him get away like this, he could have been lying and she couldn't risk it. She yelled at him as she ran, "This really isn't helping anything!" She didn't want to hurt the boy or take him down if she didn't have to, she hoped he would just slow down.

"And risk death?! Are you insane?! I play video games, I know when and when not to take risks! And this is one risk I will not take!" He yelled back as he started hopping over fences and just trying to ruin her sense of direction. He looked around, trying to come up with numerous escape routes but he soon didn't need to because he was getting closer and closer to his house. His sanctuary, someplace she could not possibly harm him even if she wanted too. This was his domain, even if she is superhuman, she can't beat him here. He looked over his shoulder and she was still on his tail. "This girl sure is persistent..." He muttered as he tried to pick up the pace.
