overview.
In the mountains of Colorado, there are two schools. But only one is known to the public. The other is a well kept secret.
St. Ivy's is a prestigious school for the elite, which just means if you have money, you'll have no problem getting in. There are scholarship students too though, students who may not have old money to throw away on tuition, but they work hard to prove they belong. The school is a beautiful, older building that spans out across quite a bit of land, though it's only about an hour drive to the nearest bustling town. A little closer to the school is a smaller town of sorts, a sort of homey place with quaint little shops. Then, of course, there's the woods surrounding the school, with hidden clearings and ponds and watering holes. The nature out here is stunning, if you pay attention to it.
But if you think St. Ivy's is impressive, it's nothing compared to Edgar Wolff's School for the Gifted, which is about an hour drive deeper into the mountains from St. Ivy's. But as a regular human, you'll never see it. It's cloaked by powerful magic, and unless you are magic yourself or invited in, you'll never be able to find it. Much like St. Ivy's, it's a prestigious academy for people with powers. Magic. Whatever you want to call it. Both schools have been in operation for years, but unfortunately, something happened to Edgar's Academy. Despite the magic protecting it, the building burned to the ground. Feeling as though their students were unsafe on the grounds, those in charge made the decision to send their pupils to St. Ivy's.
Sworn to secrecy regarding their powers, the students who agreed to go start this fall.
summary.
Hi guys! Ama, Tink, and Lurk here with a new rp idea. (I mean, not really new, but you get what I mean.)
We don't have a cap right now on how many people we'll allow in, we're just trying to see who'd be interested right now.
CS and onsite OOC will go up if there's enough interest, though RP OOC will be on discord once people are accepted.
This isn't fcfs, we'll be accepting people based on the character(s) you make.
Don't bring drama unless its in character only (in fact-- we encourage that drama!)
You're welcome to play a gifted or a human.
These will be college aged kids, since the two schools are university/colleges.

No matter how you came into your powers, the fact of the matter is: you have magic. But going to a school with normal humans... can you keep your magic a secret?

You don't have magic in your blood, and you likely don't even know magic actually exists. But when a barrage of new people arrive, will you think there's anything off about them?

one.Respect is a big deal to all of us. Please respect everyone else in the roleplay, and keep drama in character. I have no problem ending a roleplay if someone is being rude, disrespectful, or ugly. If any issues arise, feel free to message any of us privately.
two.Dark themes and (yes) romance are possible, please be okay with that. If you have triggers, please let us know. We don't anticipate this going dark dark, but it's still good to know just in case.
three. We're going to be using discord for ooc for this roleplay. The RP itself will take place over threads here on rpn.
four.No rushing people for replies. We'd like this RP to last and people hate being rushed. But at the same time, we want this roleplay to be active, so if you aren't going to be active, please do not express interest or make a CS. We get that things come up though, so we mainly just ask that you communicate with us.
five. We're asking for a 2 paragraph minimum per post.
six. This is not first come, first serve. We'll be picking based on character sheets.
