Hi! I'm Benji. I've been roleplaying off and on for about 18 years, give or take (too lazy to do the math on the spot). I'm 33 years old, nonbinary (he/him or they/them pronouns please), and have a boring job but I've returned to writing in my spare time and am planning on getting my current work published (hopefully).
I'm not terribly picky, but these are general things I like/prefer.
Now that that's out of the way. Here are a few things I've done and/or would like to try.
The Walking Dead
I'd use an OC (but you could use a canon character if you wanted). I admit that I stopped watching the show around season 8 but have recently gotten back into it (and watched the entirety of Fear the Walking Dead, too). I wouldn't mind doing a RP that takes place within the universe.
Pokemon
This is one I've had a hard time finding in the past. I've not played the most recent games, but I wouldn't mind a RP taking place within any of the regions I have played. (I was particularly fond of Johto) This would probably be similar to the show format: Two trainers meet up and go on their Pokemon journey together. I'd be willing to hear other ideas, too. I'd play an OC.
Slice of Life
I wouldn't mind a RP that's just relaxing. No pressure, no serious plotting. Just two friends, roommates, peers, coworkers, whatever living their lives. See where it goes.
Ghosts
So, I've gotten into ghosts recently (it's a recurring theme in that book I've been working on), and I wouldn't mind exploring this in RP. A few ideas here: Could be two ghosts who are occupying the same house for whatever reason, one ghost and someone who is not dead and is being haunted by said ghost, or a ghost and someone who can see ghosts (similar to Ghost Whisperer, I guess). I wouldn't mind getting into my book's lore here a little bit, but that would require a deep dive into it. Which I will do if you're interested, but these are some very basic ideas for where we could go here. (I'd be willing to play either one in this case)
Zombie apocalypse
Survivors just trying to survive in a New World. Can have as many (or as little) zombie threats as you want. Flexible with how the zombies work (could be walking dead style or 28 Days Later style. Doesn't matter to me). Can focus more heavily on the zombies, or more heavily on the collapse of society (or both).
Those are what I'm in the mood for at the moment. Other things I've done and am willing to consider currently:
Detectives
Drug dealer x addict
Criminal x cop
Time travel
Harry Potter (no marauders)
Horror
Fake dating

- I prefer original characters
- I generally prefer playing male characters (but will play female occasionally. I have a few nonbinary characters I've used in the past, too)
- MxM and MxF preferred, but willing to do FxF occasionally
- I'm not picky at all about length, and will generally just match your energy in that respect
- I tend to prefer platonic, but if romance happens naturally, I go with the flow
- I'm okay with darker themes
- I don't mind waiting for replies. I understand life gets busy. I do like communication, but I'm generally a pretty understanding person.
- Fandoms are hit or miss for me, but I am willing to try some of the ones listed
