Fantasy Sculpture Must Level Up Without a Master

Hey, everyone! It’s me, the spider who uses heretic magic! Well, I’m not actually that spider, or a spider to begin with, but you get the drift. My profile picture at the time os posting this is of Kumoko, the main (?) character of the light novel / manga series “So I’m a Spider, So What?” Naturally, I’m a big fan of the book. I’m five volumes deep. Additionally, I’ve watched the slime isekai anime. I’m a fan of the whole leveling-up-in-a-fantasy-world-and-gaining-skills thing. Also, I’m a sucker for some of the horribly translated manga names, thus the title of this post.

So, what am I on about? Well, while playing Magic: The Gathering with my friends, I saw a new card that caught my eye. It’s called Doomed Artisan; he’s a guy who makes you sculptures which can’t attack or defend you until he dies. After thinking about it while driving around, I decided that it’s moving enough of a piece of cardboard to get me to roleplay about it.

The plot of the roleplay I’m planning is this: I’m playing a golem in a fantasy world with skills. Every day, my master ventures deeper and deeper into a cave. He is physcially weak, and unable to fight. But he is an expert animist, and he’s created me to fight for him. I’m a yellowish stone golem, about the size of a man, with good defense and physical attack stats but no skills. I’m not allowed to have skills because I’m basically some moving rocks. Me and my master venture into the cave once more, and he gets killed by humans lying in ambush. The instant he is killed, I gain a skill which allows me, an unliving object, to gain further skills.

What happens past that would be up to you guys, since it’s a quest! Would I immediately bash their skulls in? Try and join them? Run as far as I can get? You’d be able to vote, and whichever option gets the most votes would be what I have to write out in detail.

Leave me a comment so I can see if this is worth doing. If people aren’t attached enough to vote, there’s no point in it.

I do like this sort of plots (and I loved that spider manga, and the slime that inspired it XD ), so I'm in.

One part I'm confused about though, is wouldn't the golem stop being able to move after losing their master? Since you don't say they gain a skill to move without the master.

Since you don't say they gain a skill to move without the master.
I haven't thought too much about the setting and rules for the world. Normally, other constructs would immediately fall over and become immobile because they've lost their source of magic. For some reason, this golem didn't (I'll think of the reason why when I start the thread).

I’ll do my best! Naturally, this search was inspired by yours, so I hope I’m not stealing the limelight.
Of course not! Considering how many different routes a story like this can go down, you're not doing anything of the sort ^^ It's not like I've been particularly active with my quest thread either haha ^^
