We've been getting hella new bbcodes recently, (and that accordion is a hawty),


and I was thinking that adding a scroll code would be super, if possible.


That way, we could confine large blocks of text into certain dimensions - which is good for overviews and character sheets and matching up image dimensions to text dimensions for aesthetics - a whole lot of stuff.


Idk if I'm explaining myself very well here on what this is, but on some other sites it's like a scrollable div?

yo, really casual bump on previous suggestion


but also:


1) it would be really neat if we had a code that could make images into backgrounds


like right now we can make colours as backgrounds


but how wild would it be if we could set images behind text?


again, not sure how plausible this would be


2) and while i'm at suggesting things that may or may not be possible


when i said the accordion was a hawty


it still totally is


but


what if we could choose which way the text accordions out?


instead of just down, it could go left or right or up.


that would be absolutely mad.


3) also


it might be that i haven't figured out how to do this yet


but is it possible to specify for borders to be only on one side or two sides or three sides, but not all four?


like i know you can change the kind of border on the four different sides


but can you make the border disappear on some of the sides? but be present on some of the others?


i hope this is real


but i was just too silly to have figured how to do it

4) i do believe the little auto space between images still exists


i know this was brought up before


but it'll be completely insane if it were to be removed

I was just asking for a <div> overflow (scroll bar) code the other day. I think it would be a great idea to implement - particularly for character sheets. It would allow for Character Sheets as detailed as the RPs they're a part of, but without making giant long posts that are unweildly and unpleasing to the eye.

Just my two cents... and this is coming from a BBcode Junkie -- As cool as it sounds, Ithink images as backgrounds would be a God awful plan xD Mostly because look at what people did with their cover photos on their profile xD It would be a nightmare, trying to read anything printed over a gaudy image and you KNOW people will do it...


Love the idea of accordions opening in different ways (sideways, in particular) - and banishing that gorram autogap in pictures would make my life complete.


 
Also - I could see a marquee code being an issue with compatibility (for example -- I can't see it on my Microsoft surface >>)

but the applications of images as backgrounds extends a little further hopefully lol


an example would be able to layer images on top of each other:


or a coloured textbox over an image (to act as a border)

but if the image was also the background


the text would be able to bleed over & look rad


or if the whole image was the background,


the inner textbox could be placed over the entire thing


or I’m pretty bad at explaining things cx


but a lot of these might depend on being able to set dimensions/have scroll


which is also not a thing right now so idk


it should come with a warning: please use responsibly ^^


& the marquee is some hotass stuff, but you’re probably right about compatibility

Like I said - I LOVE it But alas... asking THIS many people, a lot of whom are younger folk to "use responsibly" is asking a lot xD That's not to say it's not doable... I'd just hesitate to employ something that could get so ... over the top. xD

(I'm pretty mellow on the idea of images as backgrounds - templates can get... well templates aren't needed. BBcode has pretty good formatting capability).


But... scrollboxes!!! That would be yay.
