Ocean Breeze.

Salty Air.

Sun Kissed Hair.

Endless Summer.

Take Me There.

Every summer has a story. A simple, fun, crazy, witty, tear jerking, rendezvous that when looked back on will bring a genuine smile to your face and leave behind the gut wrenching feeling of nostalgia. The best memories are those you try to explain, but no matter how much you try, you simply cannot capture the moment and are left saying, "You had to be there." So here's to the nights that turned into mornings, to the hugs that turned to kisses, to the tears that turned to smiles, and to the friends that turned into family.

School's Out!
"...it's been a pleasure having you as my students! I can't say how grateful I am to have taught so many of you. I hope I got to inspire some of you like you all inspired me. Now before you leave don't forget to pick up your summer reading lis--" BRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGG!

A chorus of yells and hollering erupted from every class room of F. D. Roosevelt High as the students heard the last bell of the day indicating that their summer had just begun. The students swarmed out of their classrooms jumping and prancing. Senior girls cried as they thought of never seeing their friends again. The jocks pulled their last pranks on their teachers and freshmen. The nerds actually picked up that extra homework the teacher had assigned just for fun, and most of the stoners walked around bummed since they started summer school next Monday. Laughter and chatter of summer plans and getaways could be heard all over the school as the students stampeded out. The school hadn't been this alive or rowdy since this exact day last year.

Summer was just outside of those two big blue double doors. A hot bright sun was ready to shine away all the school troubles. The fresh summer breeze was ready to blow all the stress away and the snack store around the corner was ready to bring smiles to kids faces as orders of shaved ice started ringing up. There were seventy-eight days for these teens to let loose and have fun. Seventy-eight days to party it up like there's no tomorrow and seventy-eight days to have the best summer of their lives.

~Payton E. Thomsen~

Foot in mouth syndrome

An amused smile spread across Payton's face as the students of F. D. R. High raced across the halls ecstatic about the arrival of summer. As excited as she was however, Payton wasn't running up and down the halls or screaming at the top of her lungs. No. Payton was slowly walking behind the mob of over exited students careful to not get trampled and waving goodbye to her first year teachers. She'd occasionally give out a handshake or hug to some of the girls she had helped with homework over the year, and she'd get her head ruffled by the guys she gave answers to for tests. She loved the feel of being approached by the popular people although she very well knew that she didn't belong to them. The group of people she belong to was waiting for her in the student parking lot.

Taking the last few things out of her locker, Payton took a deep breath and closed the door.

"Until next year friend"

Payton had grown close to her locker. After all the secrets she whispered into it, all the door slams it had to endure, and tears of frustration it carried it was a miracle it hadn't grown legs and walked away. Her hand lingered on the locker door for a second before turning around and making her way down the halls. She had been one of those students who picked up a reading list. It gave her something to do while she volunteered in the library. Since it was summer there were no longer any people who walked in looking for school books. The library became a graveyard in the summer. The only people who visited were young moms dropping off their kids in the child center while they worked, teenagers checking out Manga, or adults to cheap to pay for internet at home. Of course there was the occasional reader, but they mostly came for books they didn't find at their local book shop.

Dropping the thought of the library, Payton reached the double doors and pushed them open letting the warmth of the sun caress her body and wash away the chills from the school's AC. She closed her eyes letting them slowly adjust to the change of light and spread her arms wide open taking in the sizzling summer weather.

"Hey Thomsen!"

Payton quickly opened up her eyes and found Christian, a basket ball player and one of her many crushes, standing in front of her. Payton automatically blushed at the thought of him finding her in the current position she was at. Payton dropped her arms to her sides stiffly and looked at Christian with wide eyes unable to speak a word.

"Have a good summer Kiddo! I'll see you next year."

Christian patted Payton on the back and winked at her before walking away and joining the rest of his buddies. Payton melted on the inside butterflies escaping her stomach and fluttering all over her body. She smiled blissfully and waved away Christian with over enthusiastically. After realizing how much of a dweeb she looked like, Payton stopped and blushed even redder. After a second to calm herself she grabbed her phone and texted her some her favorite people in the school, Lilac, Levy, Easton and Erick. The people that she imagined herself with the next few years of school.

Freedom!

The end of high school was something Yasen had been definitely looking forward too. Finally concluding four years of torture that was FDR High School was definitely something Yasen had been looking forward to for a very long time. He'd finally be out of the place that put him through hell and back and Yasen couldn't be happier. Still, something inside him was going to miss this dreaded prison they called school. He'd miss walking down crowded hallways having to elbow people to get to his classroom. He'd miss falling asleep in classes and rushing to finish his homework before the teachers walked in the room. But most importantly, he'd miss the memories he made with his group of friends. Now that he thought back on it, High School wasn't so bad. Sure it had more downs than up, especially when it came to standardized academic tests and college applications, but that only made the ups more worthwhile.

"Ya-SEN!"

The familiar army shout of his name was unmistakable. It was Rodrick the arrogant new First Sargent that would be replacing Yasen. He always smelled of beef jerky and had a bad habit of wanting to be better than everyone. Rolling his eyes, Yasen turned around and greeted the guy.

"Sargent Rodrick"

"Wish you the best dude"

"Like wise"

"I'll make sure to do a better job than you did."

"Ha! Let's see you try!"

"Keep in touch bro."

"Uh...sure."

Yasen shook the guys hand firmly quickly dismissing him before he went in for an unwelcomed hug. As if it was destiny, a group of graduates began to gather around his history classroom and started a rally. Nodding Rodrick away, Yasen pushed past him and joined the group of graduating seniors that paraded up and down the halls of FDR High shouting, throwing papers in the air. His graduating class was somewhere around a hundred people and all of them made more chaos than the entire school combined. Normally Yasen wouldn't be part of a rally, much less one in school, but considering that this was his last day of high school ever he grabbed a stack full of term papers and threw them up in the air.

CLASS OF 2015!!!

There was a chant of "Woos" and "Hoorahs" after Yasen's shout followed by administrators hushing the crowds and forcefully escorting the graduates out of the school. Their attempts however were futile not only because they were over powered, but because they too secretly enjoyed watching the graduating class in so much hype. Plus aside from throwing papers around, the graduates weren't really being destructive, just loud.

Though his energy was high and adrenaline was pumping, Yasen felt like he was missing something. No not something, someone. A group of someones as a matter of fact. Yasen was missing his crazy graduating friends. Not giving it a second thought Yasen split from the crowd and headed over to pick up Veronika, the person who was closest to his destination. He would drag her along whether she wanted to or not. As far as the other seniors, Yasen grabbed his phone and texted them to meet at the drinking fountain that a male extremity drawn on the drinking piece.

{Veronika C. Silva}

Dubbed as the GPA killer or better yet, the slave driver, Mrs. Thompson made all her students create instruments from scratch using calculus as the final calculus project. Students were forced to not only learn how to play a simple song from the instrument but they had to present it for Open House. They then had to redo the process again except in front of their peers. On the last day of class, all thirty students were eyeing the clock, watching it tick by anxiously. Come onnn, five more minutes... god dammit, she’s still talking. Veronika was itching to leave; freedom was so close yet so far. Her left foot tapped against the carpeted floor incessantly as she drummed her fingers on her desk. The presentations bored her to tears and frankly, why would anyone give a thirty minutes presentation on the last day of school?

Ugh. Overachievers.

Ignoring the monotonous voice of the presenter whose name she had already forgotten, Veronika turned to look at Dustin, her seat partner. The little nerd was caught staring at her and in return, she gave him infamous wink. Playing it off cool, Dustin looked away trying to control the redness that threatened to seep from his neck to his cheeks. Feeling like a wolf cornering a rabbit, Veronika twirled her wavy ends around her index finger and debated on her next move. Should she go for the plunge? He would be so sweet to taint.

But you don’t do virgins, the devilish voice in her head reminded her, too boring, too dull. Feeling her interest dissipating, the female turned away from the blushing tomato and her mind drifted from Dustin to graduation. She was finally graduating! She was moving onto better things in life...if only she could afford the tuition.

BRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGG!!

The screeching and joy of students overrode the sound of the bell. “SUMMER! SUMMER! SUMMER!” the seniors chanted, their fist pumping the air. Veronika whistled at the chant as she grabbed her books and pencil case. Before leaving, her inner flirt took over and she turned her attention to the rabbit scurrying to leave. “See you big boy, take care,” Veronika said in her usual sweet tone. She leaned in closer, noticing him inching away and laughed. "Geez, why are you so scared?"

"Wh-whatt uh" was his only response. Veronika giggled at his response.

"Bye Dustin." With that, she quickly dashed out trying to brush past the crowd and headed to her locker.

“Veronika!” the cheerleaders came to greet her as they opened their lockers. Veronika also didn’t bother to remember their names. “Too bad you didn’t try out for the team, you would have totally made it.”

“Sorry girls, I-” she tried for the nice route before being interrupted.

"It's Kerstin," Kerstin frowned, clearly not happy with Veronika's forgetfulness. It seemed they had gone through this situation once before.

"Christine," the other girl piped up from behind.

"Yeah whatever," Veronika slammed her locker door shut. Her things were already in her tote and she gave them one last talk down. "Look, I don't care about your names or your cheerleading squad. So stop trying so hard and go drool over someone else. Capiche?" Her rudeness left them speechless long enough for Veronika to walk away. Veronika pulled out her phone from her pocket and started texting Yasen. She was going to surprise him by waiting for him outside his class for once. However, Veronika, being completely absentminded most of the times, already had forgotten his last class.

'Jay jay, come and get mee. Next to Thompsen's class, look for...Ohhh I think I just witness a break up scene!' she quickly texted him as she kept her eye on the now blubbering single female a few feet away.

~Lacey A. Brooks~

Lacey sat at a lab table looking lazily in the direction of her chemistry teacher, Mr. Aldridge. He was mixing different liquids together and obviously had the intentions of having the kids follow suit. Why would you provide anxious children with dangerous chemicals in a class that they hated? That was just plain stupid. But apparently so was the teacher considering his lack of understanding that the last day of school was to wrap up any unwanted social connections. Yet, his monotone voice continued to drone on.

Resting her chin in the palm of her head, she tried to at least act like she was paying attention. But she's a horrible actress and within seconds her head almost slammed into the desk as she fell asleep. The motion jerked her awake and she groaned. Maybe if I slam my head on the table, it will get him to stop teaching. She mused. Sucking her teeth at the idea, She knew all she would get was a lecture about the negative impact of sleeping in class. A lecture she's heard so many times that she lovingly dubbed it the "Lacey Lecture". At least with him teaching, she could watch the pretty colors in the bottle swirl round and round and round and round and-

"BRRRIIIIIIIINNNNGGGG!"

Lacey leaped from her chair and darted towards the door, pushing past anyone and everyone. Once she was in the hallway she fell to her knees.
"Oh thank god! I'm free! I'm free! Oh, the taste of sweet freedom! Nothing can truly compare!" She shouted at the ceiling. Ignoring the multitude of stares, she got up and brushed off her jeans. She didn't care if people thought she was weird before, and that was when she had to see their acne-ridden faces everyday. But now that she was leaving, forever, she definitely didn't give a shit about what people thought.

She slowly started pushing her way through the crowd. Whenever Lacey crossed paths with another senior, she would scream and throw her arms in the air. Needless to say, she basically walked with her arms high in the air chanting "2015". The hype of the seniors was infectious. Even though she didn't really care for most of the people here, she soon was caught up in a hug train and got passed from person to person. She knew with each and every embrace broken, that was one less person she had to entertain in math or English.
Don't care about you, don't care about you. I don't even know you're name! Aww that's cute, you actually think you're gonna graduate! Lacey mentally checked off each person she bid farewell to. There were only eight people-no wait, nine. Lilac's got a boyfriend now-that she cared about. That would be a hard goodbye to deal with.

Pushing the sadness from her mind, Lacey pulled all of the pictures and trinkets out of her locker and tossed them into her backpack. As much as she wanted to leave this school, Blake promised to pick her up at her locker today. She tapped her foot and prayed he didn't take forever.

It was exactly two-o'clock when the bell rang. Its harsh, metallic sound, interrupted Sutton from her daydreaming, but the pale-skinned girl was not fazed. It was, after all the last bell that she would hear in her high school career, the last time she would ever have to cover her ears to avoid its slightly annoying sound. If she were better at math, Sutton would have been able to say exactly how many bells she had heard in her lifetime - eight times a day times five days a week, times one hundred eighty days in a school year, times four years - but, alas, she wasn't, and so she came to the conclusion that the number must be "a lot". Eagerly, Sutton lifted her dark grey Jansport backpack, surprised at the ease at which it lifted. She was done with heavy textbooks and papers. Now, all that her backpack contained was her worn journal, a few pens and pencils, and food, most of which she had already eaten.

"
Peace out, Brown," Sutton called to her ever-enthusiastic English teacher, giving a wave and one of her trademark smiles. AP Lit had been her favorite class this year, and Sutton felt that Ms. Brown, a woman fresh out of some liberal arts college, who wore cute outfits and smelled like Starbucks, had really pushed her to her true potential. Not many teachers could do that for her, being as lazy as she was. However, Ms. Brown really did encourage Sutton throughout the year, pushing deadlines and making even the most boring classics seem adventurous and fresh. It was one of the reasons Sutton wanted to become a journalist; aside from her natural curiosity, she wanted to make reading fun. She hoped that her stories would draw people in, make them fall in love with the world, but these days, Sutton was never so sure of herself. For all she knew, her words could be horrible and repulsive. It was one of her biggest fears to be of ill repute, but Ms. Brown had helped calm that fear, even if it was for just one semester.

Sutton couldn't have felt more free than she did at this moment. She ran recklessly through the halls, smiling and laughing at the world she would be leaving behind in a month. High school, after all this time, was still high school, full of melodramatic girls, arrogant jocks, heartbreak, tears, and love.
And speaking of love, Sutton's mind jumped to the image of her beautiful best friend, a girl who she had come to know well in the past few years. Sutton had never been able to hold a serious relationship in high school; the closest she had come was Veronika and her constant flirtation. Wandering throughout the halls, Sutton came upon the locker of a certain girl, one she couldn't seem to get out of her mind.

"
Guess who?" Sutton asked, coming up behind Lacey and wrapping her arms around the girl's thin waist. She couldn't help but smile as she fixed a stray lock of Lacey's hair, giggling at her friend's obliviousness. "You ready to ditch this place, loser?" the fair-skinned girl inquired, barely able to hold back a laugh. "Because I don't know about you, but I'm so ready to say goodbye."

Erik Connor

Distressed

When the sharp ring of metallic hit his ears, the kid was already at the fountain before the school. The calm before the storm had broken, the courtyard erupting in cheers of joy and such appropriate actions for the day. Erik smirked, getting up and roaring with the students among him. The freshly applied bandages didn't matter. His bruised fists didn't matter either. The school year was closed and he was in his element.

Breaking out his phone, he spotted the text from Peyton. It would be extra effort to text her back, since that was the complete opposite of how they interacted. The two had more of a "text to let you know I'm here" kind of feel. Erik flipped his phone sideways and activated his camera.

""Wassup my creeps! This is your lover boy, Erik, reporting on his last day of school!" He swept in a circle, getting a shot of the blissful chaos around him. "I'm about to go meet my little sister in the park. Expect a new video later!" Erik stopped the footage and saved it, uploading it soon after. Looking up, he caught sight of the reason why he was a little beat looking. Matthew Owen, the back bred loser who worked at the 7-11 on Pineway. Apparently, his religion told him to punch Erik. It was also his religion that let him get his tukus kicked.

Erik smirked and headed out to the parking lot, wondering what was taking East so long.

Easton J Callahan

Easton was beyond happy that his last class ever at FDRHS was a class he actually enjoyed. He would have hated leaving the place with memories of English or Algebra as his last classes. But he got art class last, which was so much better than he could have ever anticipated. His teacher, Mr. Jones officially, but everyone called him Jake, had all his students set out their favorite piece that they had created over the last semester. Easton had set out his picture for the assignment "What makes you happy?" a picture of his group of friends laughing under a tree. It was a picture that had been taken of them by a member of yearbook, and it quickly became one of Easton's favorites. Jake then instructed the students to walk around, and look at the other work that people had deemed their favorite. This was one of Easton's favorite activities in art class, when he got to see everyone else's style. Easton's work was primarily realistic, with scratchy pencil marks that conveyed an air of informality. Looking around the room, he saw hyper-realistic drawings, panels that looked like they came from a comic book, rounded edges that suggested cartoons, and then some.

BRRRRRINNNNNNNGGGGGGG

The bell startled all the students, who finished looking around quickly before grabbing their portfolios and saying their goodbyes to Jake. Easton lingered in the back of the classroom as the other students filtered out. Gripping his portfolio tightly, he approached the teacher- tall, thin, young, with glasses and brown hair pulled into a ponytail. Easton had never been into the hippie aesthetic, but Jake's personality led Easton to foster a teensy crush on him. That, combined with Jake's impressive art abilities, meant that Easton had a hard time properly thanking the man. With red creeping up his neck, Easton hastily thanked his teacher for all he taught him. When Jake gave him his email and told Easton to send him artwork from Norfolk. Smiling, Easton thanked the man and left the classroom.

Glancing down at his phone, he saw a text from Payton. He headed out to the parking lot, and quickly located Erik. Sneaking up behind the other boy, he threw his arm over Erik's shoulder- albeit gently, given Erik's injuries. "Schoooooooool's out, for summer!" he sang loudly and off-key, too happy to be self conscious. Finally, summer.

|~Lilac N Fisher~|

Lilacs last class of the year was English with Mr Anderson many thought Mr Anderson was just an old bag who tried to drum the classics into people but Lilac found that with a page to doodle on and a wide open window to stare out of he wasn't half bad to listen to. But on this particular day even Lilacs overflowing sketchpad couldn't keep her entertained and she was completely zoning out on his lecture on the consequences of making mistakes during the holidays. So Lilac was practically ecstatic when the metalic buzz from of the bell started ringing in her ear, Lilac practically jumped to her feet as she grabbed her tattered copy of Silvia Plaths greatest works and her bulging portfolio.

Lilac walked through the halls candidly like a slow motion movie star in a whirl wind of action. Lilac was both saddend and delighted by the end of the year. On one account it marked the end of her life as a free loving teen and the start of her life in a convent as a nun, but on the other hand school was out and she had one whole summer to spend with her boyfriend and best friends. Lilac smiled at her peers and those she had classes with as she made her way through to her locker nearly laughing at the almost comical cliques that built up around her. She finally came to her locker which was decorated with a mural thanks to a loophole in the student handbook and a friend of the student council. Lilac swung open her locker, the smell of sharpies and acrylics wafting out of her locker. Lilac had taken most of her books home a week before the end of school knowing that she would hate to lug around all her books on the last day. Lilac packed the rest of her art supplies, poetry books and sketch pads and took down the photographs Easton had given her packing them into a portfolio carefully.

Lilac leaned into her locker savouring its scent before she stepped away it was just a locker but it was her last ever locker at her school and she would miss a place that could be just hers. Just as Lilac was about to roll her eyes at her own sentiment her phone started to play the first notes of the music that went with Sylvia Plaths poem
The Raven a distinct signal that Payton had texted her she glanced at her phone and smiled at her phone it was like Payton to remind them and it made her think of the past reminders that Payton had sent her. Lilac texted back a quick reply I'll be there with food.

-Levy S. Quinn-

Levy glanced around his last class of the day, which was now the last day of the school year, and his last day at this school in general. Course, the people around Levy didn't care for Levy leaving, only for the sole fact that school was only a few minutes from being out. Like many teachers, Levy's debate coach was taking her sweet time on the last lesson of uses of speech and debate during the summer. Mrs. McGill, the coach/teacher, loved the look on her students face; the anxiety of waiting on the bell, the happiness of thoughts of summer, and then agitation over the woman's voice still sounding. Each one made her smile, even the hateful glares as she continued. This lesson and her watchful eyes gave the students more then just the clock to wait on, for they knew Mrs. McGill well enough that leaving without her giving permission would lead to many problems that not even the last day of school would save you from. Whether it be carried out today, or on the last day of school next year, Mrs. McGill was known to be quite vindictive.

Just as expected by Levy, when the bell finally rang; almost no one moved. Only the few brave ran for the door, immediately met with cold stares by the woman who was intent on revenge to them already. She said her final goodbye, signalling to everyone that she was in fact done. The more obedient students now ran, leaving Levy behind in the room alone with the teacher. Mrs. McGill looked at Levy, his sad face indicating his reason for not standing up yet. Mrs. McGill was the first teacher to truly understand Levy, and was one of the people used to reinvent him as the new man he is. A teacher in communication and applications was ample in helping Levy in his plight of changing his personality, steering him towards a better person along with Lilac.

Despite how close they were, Ms. McGill didn't know of Levy's soon to be absence in the school, but she gave Levy one of her business cards anyway. It provided a number and an email, the card and it's information immediately putting a small smile on Levy's face. The man stood, giving Ms. McGill a small embrace before leaving the classroom; finally finished with reminiscing for the year and no teacher left to say goodbye to. He turned, heading down the hall that led to his locker and Lilac.

Grabbing his books, a few pictures here and there in the back, and a small stress ball, Levy collected all of his important belongings from his locker and was on his way to his girlfriend. On his way there, like many, his phone went off announcing the first of many summer plans. Despite having only a first name basis with Lilac's friends, they had done there best to integrate him. Levy didn't know their opinion of him very well, but a small smile came over his face as Payton sent him a text of where to go. Couldn't have asked for a better start to the summer.

With a small grin on his face, Levy approached Lilac from behind. She was already sending text out, if Levy knew her well then it was most likely to her hundreds of friends to "Have a great summer!". Levi put his hands on Lilac's waist, but quickly retracted them after a few moments against her side, not wanting to scare her. Instead he placed his hands behind his back, "Hey beautiful." Levy's deep voice came out as more of a mumble in her ear, a smooth sound that he hoped she was in love with; heavens knows he was in love with hers. Levy looked around, noticing how empty the hallway was already getting. With that thought, Levy wanted to head to his car as fast as possible. Being late to his first real time with what could be his new friends... Well, that didn't stark as a good first impression to Levy.

"Hey East." Erik said, pulling him closer out of habit. The blue eyes comforted him a bit, though the guy couldn't hold a tune to save his life. Instead of telling him that, Erik began to sing along, or rather yell along.

Strolling along

"Awesome can't wait!"

Payton replied to Lilac's text seconds before starting to walk to the park. She strapped on her backpack tight and headed out towards the school sending out a text of her departure.

"On my way to the park"

The park was the group's ritual meeting place. They gathered there after school all the time before deciding what they were going to do for the rest of the day. Whether it was just to sit down and complain about having to stay in and do school work, or actually making plans to go catch a movie and eat dinner, the park was more than just grass and dirt. It wasn't very far away. Probably a good ten minute walk, that is if you aren't Payton who stops as every corner to report her position.

"Just arrived at Dale St."

"Passed Birdwing Loop"

"Going under the lopsided tree"

"A car just ran a stop sign and almost killed me!"

"Oh BTW I'm on Anderson St."

Message after message, Payton continued to spam her friends with her destination. She wasn't entirely sure if they cared where she was, but at least if something happened to her, they'd know where she was last seen. After ten messages, Payton arrived to Oakland View Park. It wasn't very big. A play area for little kids, a large patch of grass that could make for a soccer or baseball field, and a small pinic area with two tables and a grill on each. There were a few other kids from school, mostly girls in their graduation gowns taking last minute pictures. Payton smiled thinking about her graduating friends, Veronika, Sutton, Lacey and Yasen. Approaching one of the tables, she set her backpack on the table and once again texted her friends.

"I'm at the park. Where are you guys at?"

Taking out a pen and paper, Payton began jotting down several ideas she had for their seniors' graduation presents. Most of them were ideas she had gotten off of Pinterest, the rest she actually came up with on her own.

Yasen spotted the unmistakable locks of brown hair at the end of the hall. She didn't wait...typical. Yasen felt a buzz in his pants. Taking out his phone he noticed a text from the brown haired queen standing just a few feet in front of him. A smirked formed on Yasen's face as he put his phone away, closed up behind the girl, and wrapped his arms around Veronika.

"We're free!!"

Yasen picked up Veronika and spun her around while he spoke. His enthusiastic greeting was common. After a spin or two, he put her down facing towards him.

"You're escort has arrived," he put his left hand on his back and bowed.

A smile tugged at her lips when she felt arms wrapped around her. Veronika squealed as her feet left the ground and she felt her body going in circles. "Wooo! Yes! Yes we are!" she hollered back before he put her down. Steadying herself for a few seconds, the female laughed and pretentiously flipped her hair as he took a bow.

"Why thank you Yasen," she said in her most high and mighty tone. These moments, for Veronika, are slowly becoming more precious because she knew they wouldn't last very long. For a rude and rather manipulative person, Veronika treasures those who understands her because there are only so few. Refusing to dawdle on the future, she decided to focus on the present. The here and the now. Veronika tried to hold back her excitement but the beaming look on her face said otherwise. She was ready to celebrate and be done with high school!

"Well come on handsome, lead the way."

Yasen took Veronika's hand in his and led her to the infamous drinking fountain where they were supposed to meet up with Lacey. Yasen kicked back against the wall and closed his eyes not caring if the security would come and ask him to get his foot off the wall.

"She should be here any second now. Then we can join the rest of the graduates outside."

After waiting for a while at the fountain, Yasen sighed.

"Well I guess they're not coming. Their loss."

He pushed himself back up from the wall he had been leaning on and held his hand out to Veronika.

"Come on. There's a rally waiting for us!"

{Veronika C. Silva}

Veronika wasn't a fan of waiting and this was taking too long. She was pretty sure Lacey's phone was spammed with messages from her every five minutes asking where the hell she was. They were going to miss the rally at this point.

" I guess, screw them then," Veronika replied as she stopped pacing around in circles. A smile graced her lips as she took his hand.

When they were arrived, familiar faces were all crowding around to start the rally. The cheering already started even though the rally hasn't begun and Veronika was soon influenced by the heartful chants.

"SENIORS! SENIORS! SENIORS! WOO!"

It wasn't long before Veronika jumped into the rally, what else was there too expect. And although this had been Yasen's idea, he was a bit more hesitant on jumping in full on, paranoid that they would get in trouble. Still there was a smile on his face from watching his class acting like lunatics.

"Yeah! Go Seniors!"

Little by little the crowd made their way to the outside of the school where the cheering got even louder and the students crazier. Before he knew it, Yasen was going full on jumping and hollering with the crowd. Papers were still flying all over the place and, now, students began spraying water from their water bottles. It was pleasantly refreshing, or at least Yasen thought so.

"2015! 2015! 2015! WOOO!!!!"

He turned to look at Veronika with a child like smile on his face and what seemed to be a tear forming in his eye.

"I'm gonna miss you V"

The cheering was booming with females riding on top of the males' shoulder. Veronika was lost into it as she smacked the flying papers back up like a volleyball. Everything was great until they sprayed each other with water. “Hey! My hair!” Her hand flew up to shield her face as the other one covered her head. “And this is why we girls wear waterproof make up,” she murmured quite pleased with her waterproof decisions for the day. Wiping the remaining water droplets from her face, Veronika spun around to look at Yasen.

“C'mon Jay, I’ll still send you crazy snap chats,” Veronika pulled him in for a hug. She wasn’t good with emotional moments and she didn’t like to cry either. "Promise!"

Yasen wiped a tear from his eye hoping and praying that no one saw and hugged Veronika back.

"Good! And I'll reply with pictures of cats."

Yasen laughed away his mini break down only to find the administration was beginning to break up the rally. Some students booed at the teachers trying to get them out of campus, and others took one last selfie at the school. After much pushing and many goodbye hugs, the rally broke up leaving a very angry principal and several stragglers behind.

"I guess that's our cue to go. We still need to figure out the details for the party. Need a ride?"

"Good, I hate dogs," Veronika snickered.

As they broke away from the hug, the administrations finally caught up with the rally. She didn't understand why they were so angry, this rally happens every year. This was probably safer than the senior prank when they threw water balloons at the freshmen. Now that was fun.

The students began to disperse and finally it was time to leave this high school for good. "Yeah, my mom won't budge about getting a new car. Good thing I have you, my personal chauffeur," Veronika elbowed him playfully. They were strapped for money and her mom refused to buy another car. It was either busing, walking, or making her friends drive her around.

Veronika followed him to the parking lot and took one last look at her high school before getting inside the car. She ran her hand through her hair, tangling the strands. "One last drunken night Jay! No regrets. Hopefully the others aren't late."

When they arrived at the cafe, Veronika walked inside and scanned the place for familiar faces. As expected, they were there before the other two. "Let's grab a booth before it gets crowded," she said walking over to the empty booth. She pulled out her phone and started texting both of them.

|~Lilac N Fisher~|

Lilac clicked the off button on her phone wondering if repairing her battered phone screen would be worth it or not as she clicked send on her text to Payton on one hand her phones cracks and water damage weren't that pleasant to look at and repairing it would make it more aesthetically pleasing but Lilac wasn't sure if the convent was going to allow technology that had been invented after th.e 18th century so spending money on a new screen would probably bd a waste of money. As Lilac was complentating this most important issue a familiar set of hands brushed on her hips Levi's soft supple fingertips quickly flying away from her hip bones most likely to make sure not to scare her. But Levis embrace gave the opposite effect to Lilac it made her feel safe and secure like she was soaring and he was their like her parachute.

Lilac was assured even more so when she heard Levi's smooth voice that always reminded her of drizzling honey whether he was whispering sweet nothings into her ear or arguing pungently about if the referee called a point correctly in a lacrosse match. At this point in time he was using his sweet drizzle to compliment her and with his words she smile and turned around reaching up on her tippy toes to give him a quick peck on his cheek before embracing him in her waif like arms. She relaxed onto flat feet her toes tired from reaching up to Levi, Lilac slipped her hand into Levi's seamlessly and started to wander towards the carpark wanting to not be late
How was your day my handsome prince She said as she turned to face him in the middle of the carpark trying to keep a straight face while she uttered her cliche terms of endearment.

Easton J Callahan

Easton continued singing loudly, his arm reaching around to Erik's waist and pulling the other boy closer. Suddenly, his attention was taken from the singing as he felt his phone vibrate at least 6 times. Wondering if it was a call, or if it was just a ton of texts, he pulled it out of his pocket with the hand that wasn't currently resting on Erik's very soft shirt. Snorting softly when he realized who all the texts were from, he showed his phone to Erik. "Little sis got to the park," he said chuckling, "with a new text on her location every minute." The girl, while definitely odd, was like a little sister to both Erik and Easton, and as weird as her antics were, they were oddly adorable.

"To the park!" Easton called out, skipping in that direction. It took a little while to get coordinated, but soon they were skipping like pros. Well, sort of. Not at all. Giving up, Easton went back to just plain walking, enjoying the company of Erik. They spotted Payton almost immediately, and headed in her direction. Once they were close to the younger girl, Easton tugged her close with his other arm, and smushed them all into a group hug.

Levy S. Quinn~

Levy looked down at Lilac, correct about his assumption of the phone. She was of course busy with her phone, the water logged phone with a battery life of fifteen minutes. This was the same device that Levy had offered to replace, a newer and better version all on him. Lilac didn't allow it, maybe out of stubbornness or pride, but he still felt guilt about it. This showed a bit on his face, but her next movement made him forget about the guilt.

Lilac was a symbol of perfection to Levy, and the moment her body graced his with a kiss was a feel of heaven for him. A smile lit up his face, one of happiness and a bit of confusion at how she could care for him this much. That was always a thought in Levy's mind, but her hand intertwined with his made him forget it for the time being. For now his mind turned back to the park, and how nervous he was to truly meet Lilac's friends.

"Handsome prince?" Levy's smile couldn't stop growing when Lilac was around, "I'm nothing in comparison to you.". Levy brought her closer as they walked out the car, Levy's car to be exact. The car was one of the things that Levy was proud of, something that caught Lilac's eyes when he first started to talk to her. It was a pure white Lotus Exiege S, a car truly stunning and only available to people of wealth.

Levy held the passenger door open for Lilac, waiting to let her in before himself. The car lot was emptying fast from the people wanting to leave to their summer, so Levy and Lilac were practically alone with the time they took to get outside. @Intoxicated Lover

I'm here! Benjamin and Keaton are here also. Hurry up!

Let's grab food instead

Seeing as her friends had taken way to long to get to the park, Payton decided to try her luck at Maisie's dinner. She headed over there and was glad to find Benjamin with his little sister and Keaton already there. After the ritual hellos and how do you dos, Maisie appeared from the kitchen to take their orders. Payton took this opportunity to text the people who hadn't arrived yet. She brought out her phone and pressed on the keys hastily before Maisie got to her. As soon as she hit send, Maisie took her order and once again retreated to the kitchen. The three of them talked about going over to Keaton's house later on for a sleep over. Payton smiled it was a wonderful idea! Though she wasn't sure if her parents would agree to letting her stay the night at a boy's place she was sure if Lilac Veronica and Maisie were there, her parents would let her.

Maise soon returned with their food and Payton's eyes sparkled with hunger. "Thank you so much Mase!" She squealed before grabbing her burger with both hands and taking a big bite letting the meat juices pour down the sides of her mouth and letting the condiments drip on her chin. She smiled with a full mouth noticing how much of a messy eater she was. A slight blush crossed her face as she placed the burger down and covered her dirty mouth with a napkin while she chewed and moan with pleasure. The burger was too good for her own safety. "Mase..." She managed to say in between bites. "Your cooking is to die for!" Cleaning her greasy fingers with a napkin, she grabbed her phone once more wondering where in the world Yasen, Veronika, Easton, Lilac and Levi where. Just as she was about to text them again Yasen tore through the door of the dinner with Veronika next to him.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the fun has arrived!"

Payton rolled her eyes and picked at her fries with a smile on her face.

"About freaking time!"

Drive Time

"My dear...I'm afraid we've been ditched." Yasen and Veronika had been in a cafe for over an hour already waiting for their friends, Sutton and Lacey, to show up. Unfortunately, neither of the girls even bothered to text them about their no show. "So what's the plan now?" Just as Yasen asked, he felt his butt buzz. "Might be them" He reached for his butt pocket enthusiastically only to find that it had been Payton sending them a text. A small frown crossed his face. It wasn't that he didn't like Payton, he did, but he had been looking forward to hanging out with his senior friends. Though considering they hadn't even texted them to reschedule, Yasen was beginning to question the closeness of their friendship. He looked over at Veronika, "You hungry? Everyone's at Maisie's"

Going to his car once again, Yasen held the door open for Veronika to get in and then rushed over to the driver's seat. He started the engine and backed out of the parking lot in direction to Maisie's dinner. They had originally planned on meeting up at their friend's dinner, but Yasen figured that the place would be packed given it was closer to school. Since he wanted some intimate time alone with his friends before he went away, Yasen chose a small cafe on the opposite side of town. With that said the drive to the dinner was longer than expected, but with the tunes up all the way and Yasen jamming out behind the steering wheel, time went by in a flash.

As they got to Maisie's dinner, Yasen, once again, ran over to open the door for Veronika and help her out the car. He grabbed her hand and walked towards the dinner throwing the door open as they arrived.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the fun has arrived!"

He announced with a bright smile before going around to greet his friends.
