In a world filled with mages, you have always just been you. You went to magic school, you have your magical friends -heck, one of your friends is even guiding a young mage to teach her more about magic- life is alright; nothing too great or too bad about it.
Until one day when a powerful magical scroll gets found. Your friend unconvered it in some ancient ruins. Anyone who gets their hands on it may very well be able to change the world as we know it: one free Wish to anyone who can use the scroll (of course there are limitations, like no bringing back the dead)
There's a power struggle for the scroll, leading dozens of mages to the top of a tower after your friend to get the scroll back... before sending her off the edge and to her demise.
Her apprentice grabs the scroll, but there's no way a child can out-perform dozens of fully-trained mages! Still, she gets away from them for just a minute, breaking her wand in her escape and grabbing her teacher's old staff when she runs right into you.
"H-hey. Y-you were friends with Abigail, right? Sh-she said you two were close." You can see the scroll clutched in her hand, the power practically jumping out at you now. "I don't want to die. Please. You can have the scroll, just keep me safe from the rest of them! Save me from the others, and you can have all the power you've ever wanted."
Will you make a deal with the apprentice mage if it means you get enough magic to change the world? What will you do with your Wish once you're safe enough to use it? What of the apprentice, eager to learn magic and yet still far out of her element?
