{Welcome to the Orre Region}
~
The Orre Region is a remote region located far away from the other large regions. Many denizens of the well-known regions aren't even aware of it's existence. It is an extremely harsh region, being over 85% desert, which makes it very difficult to traverse. There are very few human settlements within it. The region lacks both gyms and a Pokemon league. Instead, strong trainers can seek out the colosseums located in different locations across the region. Trainers challenge different levels of the colosseum gauntlet. If they do well enough, they can win many fabulous prizes, and even challenge the colosseum masters at higher levels of competition. That aside, Orre is known to have a fairly high crime rate aside from a few small areas. This is due to the fact that the region is fairly poor, and many criminals tend to relocate to this region. Essentially, it's a very sketchy place to be. The exceptions are Phenac City, which is incredibly wealthy, and Agate Village, a quiet retirement village for former expert trainers. Pyrite Town is generally considered the pinnacle of crime. Additionally, the outer deserts are hounded by the nefarious Team Sangem, a group of people dedicated to stealing, poaching, and illegally selling Pokemon on the black market. Despite all these troubles, the region was considered as fairly quiet up until recently.
In an effort to bring in more money (and a positive spotlight) to the region, Orre linked up with the Kanto region for a joint Pokemon research project. Using a Pokemon cargo ship known as the S.S. Libra, several Pokemon not native to the Orre region along with some of Kanto's top researchers, began to travel to Orre's research facilities in order to form new friendships and create new scientific breakthroughs. However, before the S.S. Libra could ever reach the port, the ship mysteriously vanished at sea just outside of Orre, taking all the Pokemon and people on board with it. The one and only eyewitness report describes a monstrous creature and several suspicious helicopters as being responsible. Suddenly Orre was thrust into the international spotlight, in a very negative way.
In Orre itself, rumors have began to circulate about a group known only as Cipher. Who are they? What exactly is a shadow Pokemon? And what could this incident mean for the whole world? One group of unlikely heroes, trainers from across the world, are about to find out.
Rules and Regulations
Hey, hey, hey! Pretty stoked to be bringing this one back, I never thought I would, but here we are. Welcome to my Pokemon RP, based loosely on Pokemon Colosseum. You don't need any prior experience of that game. This is an AU and I have a kinda cool plot so we'll just be making our way through a neat story. Consider joining, if you're interested in this sort of thing, and check out the rules below.
1. All RPN rules apply here.
2. This is a semi-advanced to advanced RP, so please try to produce at least a paragraph per post, and utilize your best grammar abilities.
3. Feel free to message me privately anytime about any questions or concerns. I want everyone to have a good and fun time here, so don't be scared if you have an issue or questions or something!
4. I will probably cap the number of players accepted, but I don't know at what yet, so yeah, just hang out if you want to play.
5. This thread is a hybrid of anime-game world stuff leaning more towards anime. So Pokemon can only have four moves each but you wouldn't say they're x level. We'll play it by year and figure out questions together.
6. To encourage team diversity, this thread will allow place limits on the allowed number of Pokemon. If I get, like, a million Charizards, I'll be moving that one to the "Unavailable" list, for example. You can ask to reserve the Pokemon you'd like while working on your forms.
7. No legendary Pokemon are permitted, and if you know these games, no Shadow Pokemon will be permitted yet because plot. But if you have a Shadow Pokemon you want to save later on or something, you can put that on your form, just make a note and I'll reserve it as yours. You can also say like, "My Eevee will evolve into Jolteon!" and then Jolteon will be reserved for you even though you don't technically have one yet. Lol, just ask for clarification I'm bad at explaining, sorry.
8. Megas are permitted at one per character and one per species. I'm an old school player so I don't really do Dynamaxing or Terraforming or anything haha.
9. Your character can be any kind of trainer you want or have whatever occupation. Let's just not have any Champions or Elite Four or invincible trainers because the plot will be more fun if every villain can't be curb stomped right away.
10. Your character may have additional Pokemon elsewhere that they refer to and that you may swap between by having their professor send them over or what have you. Just indicate this on your form. Each character may have no more than 6 additional Pokemon, so 12 total.
11. Speaking of plot, you guys are more than welcome to come up with your own additions or character arcs or whatever, just lemme know so I can weave them in.
12. As the DM, I reserve the right to make any changes to these rules or amend the RP at any time or decline characters or whatever.
13. For now, each player may have up to three characters max.
14. Have fun, be creative, catch 'em all.
