Someone who visits Yunam would see right away why it is known as the Sanctuary of the Cherry Blossoms. These flowering trees are beautiful, even when they're bare in the dead of winter. Tourists and photographers flock to this town in the spring, but no one loves Yunam more than the people who live there. It's a small community nestled in the mountainside where everyone knows everyone. One may find it a bit difficult to navigate the winding streets, but all you have to do is ask a local for help. Did you know that for over a decade, Yunam has been named one of the best holiday destinations for travelers from the big cities? Naturally, it is easy to relax in such a peaceful atmosphere. The enchanting scenery, picturesque views, and that charming small town feel don't just look pretty - they inspire. Let your worries go in Yunam, and enjoy our annual Cherry Blossom Festival. Anyone will find that it is the perfect place to visit in the high season, that is for sure: an out-of-the-way retreat in the mountains perfect for all sorts of people...

Lee Kitae was on top at Yunam Academy of the Arts - on top of the leaderboards, on top of the social pyramid, and for all intents and purposes, on top of the world. He was Yunam’s very own golden boy: the town’s child of promise. It seemed like Kitae was just too damn good at everything. Anything that he didn’t immediately take to like a fish to water, he eventually learned. He was a handsome young man with a voice of molten gold and nimble fingers that could manipulate guitar strings and charcoal pencils with ease. So imagine everyone’s surprise when his body turned up in Haven Lake.

It was a fucking nightmare. The locals became even more distrustful and clannish. Their golden boy was dead, and they couldn’t let news of the death get out. The tourist industry they were so dependent on would collapse. After all, the evidence pointed overwhelmingly to murder, and who would want to vacation in a small town where a beloved student had been killed? Yunam felt there was nothing left to do but to take matters into their own hands.

Enter our players: seven (?) young people unfortunate enough to have had both the motives and the means to eliminate Kitae. All connected to the murder in some way. All claiming innocence. But the Yunam police force is convinced that the murderer is hiding among these seven, so they make the suspects an offer. The suspects must find out who the murderer is within 30 days and collectively accuse them. Failure to accuse someone will be taken as refusal to cooperate with the police, which will lead to an investigation that will result in criminal charges against the defendant. Yunam's mayor knows that just one murder conviction instead of seven would make for much more positive publicity.

The suspects figure that it's better to sink one person on their own terms than to let the system sink all of them.

Hi everyone~✰ This is the second reboot of this roleplay, so that's how you know I really like the idea lol. Before anything else, some disclaimers: this will be a literate rp with limited spots. The magic number right now is seven (7) characters, but that might change based on how much interest this gets. I am really big on the mystery aspect of this rp. I want the players to have no clue who the murderer is. I’ll share details on how the murderer will be chosen, etc., once the threads are created. A Discord or LINE account (not sure how many people here use LINE, but I think it's awesome for organization) will also be required for OOC.

i’m just realizing i didn’t make this clear: yunam is a town in south korea (the country’s population isn’t diverse, it’s basically 99% korean) so idk about racial diversity per se. most if not all characters will probably be korean or east asian, especially since it’s a small town and not a big city like seoul. i hope this isn’t too off-putting ^^
