Extrovert/Introvert Mix

Jace is a natural extrovert. If he's alone for too long he starts to get antsy and irritable. Socialization brings him alive. On the other hand though his... condition can also make it exhausting for him to be around people. He can become overloaded with emotions and have a panic attack. So while he craves company, he also fears it.

Lackadaisical

Jace is lazy. That's all there is to it really. He'd rather be reading a book or swinging in a hammock then out doing any real 'work.' He tries not to stress about things. He has enough of other people's stress already. He tries to go with the flow of things and isn't that interested in plans or organization.

"Neat Freak"

Jace has often been accused of being a neat freak. It isn't that he's necessarily a neat freak, he really doesn't have a problem with things being messy or cluttered or whatever. And he isn't a germaphobe. However his "condition" (as his father calls it) makes it almost painful for Jace to handle certain objects without spraying the whole thing down with an anti-bacterial spray first.

History

Jace comes from a family with thirteen children. During the drought his family was one that suffered the most. Now his three year old sister, Tanya, is sick and they don't have the money or resources to help her.

Being born with a skill in psychometry (the power to tell things about an object by touching it) and empathy (the ability to feel others emotions) has often labeled Jace as a witch and has made him a bit of an outsider.

When Jace's father, Harris, was offered a deal--his second oldest for enough gold to help the Bradshaw family live comfortably for the next ten years--he didn't hesitate.

Jace, to say the least, didn't go willingly. The Duke's men caught Jace while he'd been dozing under a sycamore tree. He'd been barely awake when they'd clasped him wrists in iron and informed him that he'd been sold. He was to take the place of the Duke's son, as the sacrificial bride.

- Psycometry: Also known as object reading, Jace can tell the history of an object if enough people have held it while experiencing intense emotions. Sometimes he can even pick up a stray thought or two of the previous owner.
- Empathy: Jace, through physical touch, can have a glimpse of what the other person is feeling. If the emotion is strong enough then Jace might not need touch at all. A person's intense emotions can hang around them like a thick miasma.
Limitations
- Emotion Overload: Jace sometimes has trouble deciphering his own emotions from others. This makes his moods unstable and causes him to sometimes dissociate or have panic attacks as he can't tell where he begins and others end.
- Short Attention Span: Maybe it's because he has so many other emotions swirling inside him or maybe he's just a flighty person, but Jace has a hard time concentrating on one thing for very long.
- Head in the Clouds: Jace is a daydreamer. He loves to escape reality anyway he can, through books or plays or his own imagination.
Primary Motivation: Love--Jace's deepest desire is to love and be loved. He desires to connect with people and create both platonic and romantic relationships. Relationships are extremely important to him. He wants to know that he is needed. That his presence changes people's lives for the better.

History

Backstory
- Hinata is Kenta's older sister. She possesses the same healing and regenerative properties as Kenta. Hinata has devoted her life to healing and she does not approve of Kenta's occupation.

- Noa and Miko are Hinata and Kenta's parents. Miko had been a sacrificial "bride" when he first met Noa. He had been resistant to the marriage at first, but through the years as inevitably fallen in love with Noa. He eventually took on her name and now goes by Mizushima Miko.
  
  Kenta respects his parents. He doesn't talk to them much because he is trying to forge his own path in life, but when things become a bit too much to handle he always knows he can go to them for advice.
- Healing: Kenta has some minor healing abilities and can heal other people.
- Regenerative Abilities: Kenta's body heals at a faster rate than average.
Limitations
- Negative Energy: Kenta can't destroy or create energy. When he heals he has to transfer the "negative energy" to someone else. He cannot simply make a wound go away, the damage has to be transferred, to himself or another living creature. It isn't so bad if he's healing a small cut or burn, because he heals quickly himself, but larger wounds can leave scars or be life threatening to Kenta.
- Positive Energy: On the same note, Kenta cannot simply create energy to help a body heal, he has to find that source from somewhere else, either from the person he is healing, himself, or some nearby creature. This can exhaust him or the person he heals, when he heals a wound or illness that should take days or months to heal simply over a few hours or days.
Primary Motivation: Honor. Kenta is ruled by honor. To him honor means to stay true to one's principles, always.

Kenta's key values are: Honesty, Loyalty, and Justice.

She and her mother even practiced a bit of witchcraft so that they could help the very sick people in their village. She knows the ins and outs of making potions and remedies.

- Helen has practiced some witchcraft, enough to teach her daughter and enough to heal her patients. She is a master of making potions and remedies. She has dark hair and eyes, a very kind and beautiful woman.
- Minor Healing: She can heal small things like cuts and bruises and she can sometimes heal broken bones.
- Reading Thoughts: She can't actually read minds, but through a slight touch or by looking in someone's eyes she can hear a bit of an echo of what someone was thinking.
Limitations
- Impulsive: Eleanor will not hesitate. She'll just go for it despite it being dangerous. She doesn't think of repercussions of herself or of others. This often causes people to resent her or to mistrust her in some ways.
- Skeptical: She can be very skeptical. Since her father died and after that she had a man take her heart and hold it before breaking it right in front of her. Now she is a bit skeptical of anyone who tries to enter her life in fear of them breaking her heart of abandoning her.
- Heights:For an unknown reason, she is terrified of heights. She gets shaky and sweaty at the top of cliffs or any ledge where the fall is long and deathly.
