overview.
The residents of Woodsboro, California are no strangers to the story of Ghostface. The new generation grew up with the stories of the killings that took over the small town in the 1990s—a cautionary tale passed down for the sake of making sure children got home before dark and steered clear of strangers—but that’s all Ghostface was now: a ghost story—nothing more than a whisper of the past—right?
That’s what everyone thought, at least, but then the app went viral.
The night before the first day of the school year, what seemed at first glance to be a harmless gossip app by the name Spill Ur Gutz appeared out of nowhere—quite literally, in the way that it made its way onto the home screens of Woodsboro High School students’ phones unannounced. There was only one account listed on the app: gh0stface. At midnight, the first post was made—a simple text box that read, im back.
No one was sure what to make of the app or the post—authorities wrote it off as an insensitive prank—but one thing is certain: tensions are high going into the new school year because if they’d learned anything from their old bedtime stories, it was that no one could be trusted when Ghostface made an appearance.

final girl
open
By definition, she’s quite literally not like other girls. She’s the girl next-door, the one you want to take home to meet your parents. Good grades, good manners, an extensive list of do-gooder accomplishments for her growing college applications—everything about her seems too good to be true, yet she’s given no indication that there’s more to her than what meets the eye. Everyone has to have a dark side, though, right?
the muscle
open
There’s not much to this guy. He’s the stereotypical jock—more brawn than brain—but he’s got the good looks and all-American attitude to make up for it. Aside from winning championships, there’s not much he can contribute to his community—enjoy your time now, buddy, because high school’s your peak. On the bright side, he has a team mentality and won’t go down without a fight.
the slut
open
Also known as the Queen Bee. She’s the head bitch in charge, and woe any and all who oppose her. She’s the object of most of Woodboro’s jealousy and desire, but that’s just the way she likes it. Her reputation precedes her, and while not everything people say about her is good, it most definitely ensures that she’s the center of attention, and she’s only ever content if all eyes are on her.
the skeptic
open
Whether they’re a person of science or a religious zealot, they don’t believe in scary stories. They’re on the side of the police—Ghostface isn’t alive again, and they’ll be happy to prove it to you. When there’s a creepy noise outside or a weird light coming from the basement, this is the person brave enough—or stupid enough, depending on how you look at it—to go investigate all-too-willingly. They may be logical, but sometimes, logic isn’t the only answer.
the freak
closed
They come from a humble background, and that, combined with a few odd—if not vaguely concerning—hobbies, has gotten them dubbed the town freak. Their lack of conformity with their peers’ standards of what “normal” should be means they don’t have a lot of people in their corner, however this lack of attachment to anyone makes it that much easier to put themselves first when it comes down to the wire.
the new kid
open
Being new in town, not much is known about them quite yet, which is a rare occurence in such a tight-knit community. The timing of their arrival in Woodsboro couldn’t be more unfortunate, and if anything, it turns them into the perfect scapegoat for all the shit hitting the fan. Of course, it doesn’t help that their whole family seems a little off, or at least, that’s what people are saying. They better make friends quick, or else they’ll have no one to back them up to when fingers start pointing their way.

rule one.
This role play obviously deals with dark themes, so if you know that’s something that will be triggering to you, please don’t apply!! The last thing I want is to make anyone uncomfortable, so apply at your own risk. Once a cast has been selected we can discuss later if there are any specific topics that need to be steered clear of to avoid triggers, but know in advance there will be dark content all throughout. Overall, I just want this to be a safe, fun space!
rule two.
Because this will be very character-driven, only apply if you’re prepared to make long(ish) posts. I know that real life sometimes gets in the way, so that’s why I’m looking for quality over quantity. One post a week is fine as long as it’s well-written. I’d rather have one good post to read through than a bunch of short, half-assed posts that don’t do much to further the plot.
rule three.
Discord is a must for this role play!! Once the cast has been selected, I’ll send out a discord link, where we’ll do most of our planning for this. Again, I just want this to be a fun experience for everyone!
