SHORT ANSWER

Strengths: Miles is great at starting a conversation and keeping it going. He tries to be helpful to others when he can, and his friends are allowed to crash at his place, share his food, use his bike, and the like if they just ask first. Although he is kind and goofy, Miles takes things he is passionate about very seriously, and he has learned to not be a complete pushover.

Weaknesses: Miles, try as he might, tends to be rather egocentric; it's not exactly that he thinks he's better than others, he is merely blind to his own faults at times. He also has big dreams, but he can stray from them at times and get caught up with everyday pleasantries...Thus, Miles doesn't always think before he acts and his presentation to others is often interpreted at childish. He is friendly to everyone, but his kindness can quickly develop into flirting as the male tends to be suggestive to many people, including all of his friends. Personality description: At first glance, one might assume that this male's beaming smile and semi-put-together outfit shows that he is naive and clueless to the world's troubles. Even though Miles has bachelor's degree in education and he has dealt with some personal times of trial over the years, this person would be correct. Miles is somehow still as optimistic and excited as the day he started college. He has matured a lot, knows his way around a kitchen, keeps a budget, has never missed a shift at work, and is aware of the suffering in the world and in his own neighborhood, but laughing through his mistakes and allowing the waves of life to take him wherever they choose is just how Miles lives. When you approach this young man, you will be greeted with respect, humor, probably a compliment or two, and an ear ready to listen. Sure, he may be nosy and want to know your drama, and he may be interested in getting your number, but Miles also has compassion for others and wouldn't judge their minor mistakes and negative personality traits. It takes a lot to upset Miles, or rather, it takes a little of certain things. This young man is passionate about helping children in his community and their developmental paths, or rather how adults may damage these paths. He is loyal to those he is close to, and he will not stand for meaningless insults toward others. Gentle head nods may lead to heated discussions if one, let's say, brings up the ratio of white individuals to people of color at private universities, gender roles reflected in children's toys, a tacky story or comment about one of Miles' friends or coworkers, or a thought that one woman in the bar is more attractive than another. This young man is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in, but he is also open to hearing others' thoughts when he has the patience...he's still working on staying calm and collected through anything that may come his way at work. Miles prides himself in being a good friend, but he can be talked into doing things pretty easily as a consequence at wanting to make them happy. Background: Miles grew up with his grandmother and two sisters after his mother left and the identify of his father was never decided, and as a child he was quickly raised to act respectful and stay in school. His grandma had no intention of raising any thugs, criminals, or dropouts after she had made with mistakes with her daughter before. It was a strict but loving household, and Miles was always kept busy with chores, school work, and activities with the local Big Brothers organization. He made friends easily and feel in love with reading and writing his own little fiction stories, well, mostly he made comic books. When his grandma died, Miles was ahead of his peers in school, but he started spending less time studying and more time getting into fights. He would act out in class or not go at all, and his sister was too busy working multiple jobs to take sense into him. Miles continued to write in spare time, and one day, in ninth grade, a teacher read his work, believing it was an insulting letter or such. Somehow with Miles on the edge of dropping out, this teacher convinced him that he was better than the fake persona he was hiding behind. With some work, Miles was able to graduate with a scholarship to college. He was hopeful, outgoing, and excited once more as he left to live on the campus. Miles tried his best in school, wanting to be the type of man his grandmother had raised him to be and wanting to make a difference to young people the way that teacher helped him. Along the way, Miles decided he wanted to be a mentor figure in children's lives, so they have someone to turn to when life gets difficult.

Writing sample: It was a day like any other: the sun was out, the birds were chipping, the traffic was drowning out the birds' chirping... but something was off. Alice was on her way to work in the ill-fitting uniform her new position as a cashier at the local fast-food joint required, and her head spun from missing its morning dose of coffee. She wasn't in a bad mood that morning; even when her straightener singed her neck, she managed to take a deep breath and keep moving, but suddenly anxiety was seeping its way in. Sighing quite dramatically, Alice shoved her hands into her pockets and pushed open the restaurant door with her hip.

The ding of the door's entrance bell made the female wince as she took in her dull surroundings. A toddler was screaming, trash covered tables, and it sounded like the ice cream machine was broken yet again. Alice went to the back and almost clocked herself in when her actions were interrupted by a harsh voice. "Hey! Hey, redhead! You don't work today, hun. Come in tomorrow." Could it be? Alice's worry and dread quickly switched to relief and joy, and she grinned from ear-to-ear. Freedom for another whole day!

Why I should choose your character: I believe Miles could be a good connection point where characters meet because he knows and sees a lot of people throughout his day. His friendly demeanor may ease some of the potential drama and while his flirting habit may increase drama.

Why I should choose your character: I believe Ray is a character not many others would play. I like to look into the bad of a person as well as the good, and his character really shows that. Ray isn't perfect, in fact, he has many weaknesses and vices, but that makes him stand out. He contributes a different perspective to the story, as many do not prefer to play the pessimist, even though it is a vital part of a group dynamic.

Ray’s relationship with his family has never been incredible, due to Ray's constant stress on himself for acting perfectly in front of them. From a young age, it had been made very clear to Ray that it was his father's intention to betroth to him the business he had built himself from the ground up. He was to maintain a perfect record, find the the perfect girl, and inherit the perfect career.

His evident vices stem from being taught by his parents throughout his childhood how to be presentable and professional at all times and how to run a business. Ray has begun to crack under the tremendous pressure being put on him, as he is uncertain of his ability, or even interest, to fulfill his father's wishes.

From all this derives his sometimes cold and distant nature, as he is very cynical and doubtful of the goodness of others. He judges people through their bad habits, vices, and past mistakes rather than through their positive traits.

James opened his mouth to greet the two, but could not get a word in as Casimir continued. He smiled warmly at his friend, listening to him speak fondly about his summer.


"But—what about you?" Casimir asked as he put away his luggage.

"Oh, nothing eventful. Mum and I don't really do a lot of traveling," James responded, following suit and also packing up his things.

He took a seat next to Casimir, placing his cat carrier carefully on the floor, so as to not disturb the feline's sleep. That would not be fun.

"Bloody animal," he muttered, memories of her last attack still on his mind.

Pulling his attention back to the two accompanying him in the compartment, he offered the girl sitting across from him a polite smile.

"Nellie, was it? Nice to see you, I'm Jamison Hall, but you call me James. I think I might have had class with you last year."

though not terribly negative, a lot of people initially find her sarcasm to come off as quite rude until they realize it's just who she is. her slight rebellious and sarcastic nature is what can get her in trouble the most. to others, camila is very confident and comfortable with herself, but she is always concerned with how others perceive her and what they might think of her, especially if her secret somehow got out. it takes time for camila to fully trust someone, but even then she would still be hesitant. she can be quite dramatic at times, sometimes for the attention or just because.

history

camila was born on july 8, 1995 to a mexican mother and an italian father. she spent most of her childhood in brooklyn, new york where she was born and raised until the age of 11. her family moved to a city in maryland near washington d.c. and her parents haven't moved since. her family did well financially but they were never wealthy. after graduating high school, cam moved back to new york city where she finally started her modeling career at the age of 18. she has always enjoyed modeling and decided at 15 that modeling professionally would be her career.

she has an older brother, leo, that is three years older and is very protective over her. he has always been her best friend and he is the only one in which she can truly confide in. camila was never a bad kid, but she was never the perfect kid either. she had her moments where she would act rebellious against her parents. her father's strict rules made her want to break them even more (though against her brother's advice).

family is highly important to camila, despite the amount of drama within it, so she tries her best to visit her parents and grandparents as much as possible.

a year ago, camila had been walking home from a get together with friends at a restaurant when a random man grabbed her on the sidewalk. he molested her before running away after camila was able to see his face. she never told anyone about the incident, not even her brother leo. she attempted to tell the police, but she couldn't bring herself to actually do it, afraid of what others might think of her, especially since she's a professional model and she didn't want it to ruin her reputation. she never told anyone, figuring she could just move on from what happened as time passed by.

She glanced around nervously at the few officers walking past her with a cup of coffee in hand or sitting at their desks, typing away at their computers. A few talked to each other about investigations or about general topics. Phones went off different times at different desks. Despite the fact that it was almost two in the morning, the officers seemed to be busy. That's the thing with a huge city like New York City. There is always something going on no matter the time of the day.

Her leg shook violently as she waited, wiping her sweaty hands against her jeans. She felt restless and nauseous at the same time. The detective she was supposed to talk to still hadn't gotten back yet, making her even more agitated. If anyone that walked past her were to actually watch, they would easily notice something was up. She started having second doubts about this. Would they even catch the guy that did this to her? What if he isn't even put to trial? Maybe she was just overreacting about the whole thing? She knew how she could be when her emotions came into play. She didn't want to cause problems for others by putting her own problem on them. How would people see her after this? Most importantly, what would happen to her career? There were just too many questions she wasn't sure of. She hated not being sure of things.

She looked up from her lap and saw her detective talking and laughing to another officer. It automatically made her feel like the detective didn't care. Should she just leave? She sighed quietly while making sure she knew where the door was. She slowly got up after finally making a decision and quickly walked out of the double doors of the station without anyone noticing. She didn't have to tell the police about this. No one had to know. Yes, it would be much better that way. Besides, she'd eventually get over it.

BIOGRAPHY
History:
Roxanna grew up on a farm in eastern Kansas. Her mother died in childbirth, so it was always just her father and herself. She grew up very close with her small family. Roxanna spent most of her childhood running around on the farm, being a typical kid. She played in the mud, rode horses, and swam in the pond. Her father taught her how to grow her own food, raise animals, fix tractors, and do pretty much anything that needed to be done around the farm. When she was eight years old, her father remarried to a woman who hated children and didn't want Roxanna to get in the way of her marriage. While she treated her father and grandmother like royalty, she both mentally and physically abuse Roxie every day. Roxanna took a job at the local diner at the age of 16 to become a waitress. She told her story to some of the regulars and a few close friends, whom always tipped over 20% when they visited her.

Roxie's father died of cancer recently, leaving her to feel like it was somehow her fault she couldn't protect him from her stepmother. The stepmother got everything: the farm, the livestock, and the estate. And she refused to give anything to her stepdaughter. Roxanna was forced out of the house with only the things in her bedroom. Currently, she's living wit her cat Clementine in a small studio apartment near a college campus where she studies zoology, and works for a local club as a bartender. She still blames herself for her father's death, even though it was inevitable. Roxanna doesn't do well with a lot of emotion, and doesn't really talk about her past much. So if she tells you, she really trusts you.
