MOONLIT ISLE
L O R E & B A C K G R O U N D
Many years ago in a place long forgotten, a pack of wolves traveled far and wide seeking a new home. Soon, the wolves came across a large body of water they sought to rest from their long journey, and there they slept, lulled by the waters constant rise and fall by the wayside only to be awoken by a large rumbling roar. When the wolves sought the origin of alerting sound, they found that the sea itself came to rise up and rushed towards them as if trying to snatch them from the land itself and drag them into the sea. While many wolves escaped, some were snatched away and tossed into the waters. Not knowing what else to do the wolves continued to swim,
and swim,
and swim,
for days on end. Until, finally, the sea carried them all the way to a land they did not know existed. Washing up on the shore, they slept, rested and recovered. The next morning, washed up wolves got up and sought to make a new home on the island.
Some sought refuge not far off from where they washed ashore, in the mountains to Easternmost part of the Isle. Some traveled farther west and made their home in a pair of forests accompanying either side of a large lake. Lastly, some traveled still further west, choosing to make a home to hills to the west of the Westernmost Mountains. These three groups of wolves grew up and made their own families. They had pups, and their pups had pups, and so it continued for many moons. Until many generations later three Clans were formed from the survivors of a pack long separated. But before these wolves sought out their individual homes, they came together and named the place the they would soon call home.
And they named it the Moonlit Isle.
