In Character Roleplay

Welcome to S.I.N.!

nikita_wip8.jpg

This is the main room, where you will gather for announcements or events. Today, we are welcoming our newest recruits. There will be a speech, given by Henry, followed by a few shorter speeches by Alex, Cassandra, Nina, and Allen. All in all, it's a fairly formal matter, but after the speeches the crowd will disperse, and mingling will commence. There is food and drink (no alcohol). Or perhaps you wanna take the chance to head to the gym area to get out some frustrations. Either way, you are not allowed back to your rooms until close to bedtime. Today is considered a "free day". No assignments, no [formal] training. Also, no using your power to hurt another S.I.N. member.

"Caleb, you should come." Lyla leaned against the weight machine her brother like figure lay on, swiveling her head in his direction. "They're newcomers, like you were once. Like I was a year ago." Appealing to Caleb wasn't an easy task, but he'd taken pity on her once before, so she thought that maybe she could convince him now.

No such luck. "Not a chance." He responded, barely sparing her a glance as he let go of the weights. They clanked loudly against the others, the sound echoing in the large room. "Why do I care about the newcomers?"

"You cared about me once." Lyla shrugged, pushing herself off of the machine. She remembered her first day in SIN very well, even if the events leading up to her waking up in the white room were a little cloudy. She'd been running from someone, and over her year here she came to remember the someone was the police. She'd just robbed a little convenience store, making her way to freedom with two bags full of cigarettes for her roommates, and a case of beer.

On her way down a hill, she'd tripped. The beer had fallen to the ground, a couple of the bottles shattering as they hit the ground. Packs of cigarettes went flying, and Lyla herself felt her ankle twist as she crashed to the ground, rolling the rest of the way down the hill towards where the car sat parked, half in shadows. She heard the engine start and tires squeal as the car sped off, leaving her there to be discovered.

That's the last thing she remembered.

When she woke up, she'd been in the white room. White sheets, white walls, white everything. The only thing of color in the room was a silver chair, sitting occupied by an almost middle aged man. He introduced himself as Alex, and he welcomed her to SIN. She still remembered his words, the echo of them still chilling her to the core.

"Welcome to SIN, Lyla. You are dead."

But, as it turns out, she wasn't dead. Just according to the rest of the world, outside of SIN. They'd faked her death and brought her here, wanting to use her. It was her second chance, Alex explained, and she took it. They'd left her in the white room until the newcomers ceremony, where she was formally introduced to everyone on a makeshift stage in the main area of SIN.

And now, a year later, she would be on the other side of it.

"That's different." She heard Caleb say. Their gazes met for a moment, multi-colored hazel meeting forest green. She could tell there wouldn't be any changing his mind.

Lyla sighed, turning away from him. "Fine, fine. Don't break anything, okay?" She heard him scoff, but when she looked back in his direction, he was smirking as he went to wipe his face with his towel. A small smile tugged at her own lips as she slipped out of the gym, making her way down the hall towards the ceremony.

"Not a chance." Caleb finished up his reps, releasing the cord and letting the weights clank together as they met. Rule number one in the gym that no one followed: don't let the weights smack against each other. Lyla barely flinched at the loud sound, and Caleb had to hand it to her. She'd come very far in her year here at SIN, and he was proud of her.

Not that he'd admit that out loud.

Pushing himself to a standing position, he reached for his water bottle, bringing the opening to his lips and tilting the container back. The ice cold water felt nothing short of refreshing passing through his mouth, and he downed half the bottle before setting it back down.

"You cared about me once."

Caleb paused in reaching for his towel, grimacing. Snatching the white cloth from the ground, he straightened and cast her a sideways glance. It wasn't the same thing, and she knew that. "That's different." He told her, pressing the towel to his face and scrubbing the sweat off. He thoroughly expected her to keep pressing, but to his surprise, she gave in.

"Fine, fine. Don't break anything, okay?" She waved him off and disappeared from the room, leaving Caleb to grab his water bottle and move onto the next machine. He'd done a full round on all of the machines before he groaned, sitting on one of the benches to catch his breath. To his utter disgust, Lyla's face popped into his mind, wearing that little pout she wore when he didn't do what she wanted him to do.

Mariah had done the same face.

"Damn it." He growled out, snatching his towel and bottle and standing again. "She knew I would go." And she probably had. Making his way out of the gym, he paused by the locker room. Knowing Lyla would chastise him for not showering before going to the ceremony, he popped in for a quick one.

Afterwards, he changed into a pair of gray sweats and a black wifebeater, slipping his feet back into his shoes as he headed for the main room, gym bag still slung over his shoulder. The formal part of the ceremony was over; now it was time to mingle. There was food, drink-- no alcohol, of course-- and plenty of people to talk to.

Greeeeeeat.

Katia

giphy.gif

Not only did Katia despise mingling with people, but she despised most of the people in this room. These were the people who had murdered her mother, who had robbed her of a normal life. Had S.I.N. not found her mother and killed her for refusing to join then maybe she would've grown up a regular kid. Even if they had to have stayed on the run and off the radar at least she would've had her mother. A family. She would've never been tossed about in the foster system, wouldn't have accidentally killed a man. Maybe she wouldn't despise who she was. What she was.

The thought alone was enough to make her blood boil, her powers beginning to act out as a glass on the table beside her shattered. She couldn't cause a scene, not here in front of this many people. There were too many people around she could harm, and too many people who had an eye on her. Alex had already warned her she needed to watch herself tonight, she had just been allowed to go back on assignments after being on probation for a week.

Her last mission had almost been a disaster, she had over extended herself and had fallen victim to the same illusion she'd given her target. The worst side-effect of her powers was that she was stuck with the illusions she cast, though usually they only haunted her dreams. However, in her state of exhaustion she hadn't been able to control it and had to pull herself out of her own illusion. By the time she had been brought back to reality she had destroyed the entire house, her telekineses had lashed out while her mind was being tortured and practically leveled the structure. The cops had almost arrived by the time she managed to flee, and when she'd arrived back at Thunder Henry himself had come to punish her in person. Her mistake could've exposed them, there was no room for error.

The illusionist had almost had a hold on her powers before the incident. Any control she'd had over her powers had been demolished after her encounter with the Berserker in Venezuela. Jennifer had been a part of most of Katia's life at Thunder, the Berserker was the best person to test the illusionist's power on without causing harm. Katia had always been able to control the beast inside of the girl, whether by inducing fear or calming her down with an illusion of safety. So when the beast had gone on a rampage in Venezuela, Katia had been called in to calm her down. However, the Berserker had reached a new level of animosity during her killing spree, rendering Katia's illusions ineffective on her animal brain.

It was a miracle she had survived, her powers had only managed to save her from the beast for a few minutes, she'd thrown a car at the Berserker and she'd smashed it to pieces. Luckily for her S.I.N. saw her as useful enough to save, and Cal had worked long hours to mend the broken girl. The two had formed a strange bond of understanding after that, they were two of the few people to even know the Berserker existed. Katia had desperately wanted to confide in her only friends at the camp, Lyla and Caleb, but she was forbidden to tell them due to the secret nature of her mission and Jennifer's existence, so she often found herself confiding in Cal.

For the first month after the incident Katia had been recovering, both mentally and physically. It took two months before she'd used her powers again, and even then they were weak and uncontrolled. Now, a year later, she was still trying to regain control over herself. She was disappointed in herself to say the least, and she couldn't even talk about it. Maybe if she told Lyla she'd be able to help her, but she wouldn't risk it.

Regaining her composure, she looked around to make sure no one had seen her little melt down, relieved to find no eyes on her. She spotted Lyla enter from the gym, surprised to see her without Caleb in tow. The two were practically seemed inseparable, Katia would've been jealous if she didn't know they were practically siblings. The illusionist was lucky Lyla had wanted to be her friend, the elementalist had been the first person to truly try to get to know her. Katia had tried her hardest to deter her, but she was glad her efforts had been in vein, now that she had both Lyla and Caleb she didn't know how she'd survived her whole life without friends.

"Thank you for saving me from bashing my head against the wall." Katia joked, watching as everyone else mingled about. The new recruits looked around like deer caught in headlights, there was no way they would possibly remember everyone who introduced themselves tonight. They would all meet one another eventually, more than likely Alex would have her practice illusions on them in the near future. While she didn't mind when Alex or Nina asked her to use her illusions to calm down someone, she couldn't stand it when they made her induce panic. It pained her to watch them thrash in fear, battling demons that weren't there.

"Oh, look who finally decided to join the party." She teased as Caleb approached, trying her hardest not to make it obvious that she was staring. The two strong-headed individuals had argued quite often since his arrival, but that didn't stop her from finding him attractive. While they'd sparred together quite often and shared a few assignments, it hadn't been until Lyla came along that the two had really become friends, and Katia found that she actually enjoyed spending time with him despite their continued bickering.

The low buzz that seemed to travel through everyone gathered was quite upbeat in comparison to the usual stoic faces. Rosario had begun to feel overwhelmed by the many scents and sounds that he often avoided since they were rarely gathered into a boisterous setting that he still has a love for. He rocked on the balls of his feet as he scanned the room for a familiar, or at the least, a friendly looking one. There was some part of him that just wanted to blow of some steam training so that he can level up but Nina had informed him that this would be a good time to see how he does in non threatening situations. He cautiously flexed his right arm and watched as the t-shirt tried to adjust to the strain. "...Once I hit level 4 I won't have to worry about these annoying fitted shirts," Rosario had mainly grumbled to himself. At the sight of Cassandra watching him from a close distance, a slight tremor ran through his body. Flashbacks to the irritating and unnecessary lecture about how Rosario wasn't allowed to show up to the function shirtless echoed in the back of his mind causing him to chuckle out loud. He'd never thought that a secret agency that focused on killing would really be so uptight on dress codes.

Rosario had been mainly posted up by the table loaded with different food from multiple countries. He'd already munched through at least 5 steaks and caught a few concerned glances from some other new recruits. The big appetite was a package deal with the transformations plus he was already a hardcore foodie before getting involved with Thunder. It all would have gone down a lot smoother with some alcohol but he's pretty sure that a room full of drunk superpowered beings would turn into a wild fight club easily.

Just the idea of fighting sent a familiar tingle that seemed to run under his skin which led to him balling up his fists before relaxing them. Rosario spotted some of the other agents that he had heard little of and offered them a friendly wave. He sighed to himself and remained at the food table to hold a conversation with the people that had the guts to try and get some food from the table that he'd basically laid claim to. His mood had lighten considerably in comparison to earlier as he spoke to more and more fellow experiments. Rosario had forgotten how much fun it is to socialize with people that didn't see him as a ticking time bomb that just needed to be contained or broken in. Callen Philips, also known as Lazarus, looked down at the steel table with a laser focus, his damp hair, recently brushed, tied in a long pony tail that reached his naked lower back. Beads of water broke free here and there across his chest to run down in streams destined to either get lost in the grey towel wrapped around his waist or to splatter against the cold white floor. He had a decision to make. A hard decision. One posed only to the wisest and strongest of those who dwell in SIN... did he go with the white shirt or the grey shirt? It was an impossible decision, really, for today was the day. Today was New People day. Today meant new stories, new faces, good food and socializing, today was to be a good day and the last thing the young man wanted to do was scare off the potential 'friends' before he had a chance to talk to them. They hadn't yet been 'tested' too much, and some people... changed after SIN was through with them and they were finally let out, it was entirely selfish, but Cal wanted to meet them before that happened. He ran a hand across the rough hairs of his beard as he pondered the question. The option of white or grey shirt was relatively new in his life, the concept of 'picking' his own clothes was still rather exciting, truth be told. Not because he could express himself more but just because it was a small window of freedom. A taste that was sweeter then ice cream, if they let him pick the color of pants next, Cal would truly be lost.

He picked up both shirts, moving slowly so as to not dislodge the towel around his waist and turned to the camera in the corner of his room holding them up in turn, "What do you think? The grey or the white?" he asked the empty room. It was a silly question not just because it didn't really matter but because no one would answer. They never answered. But talking to the empty room, to that camera lens hoping someone was on the other side talking back had been the closest thing he had to a friend for years.

"You know, I was thinking white, but I don't know if you know, or well, of course ya know, you are always watching, but I am just a lil clumsy, so that seems dangerous. Walk up to the new girl with stains all over it," Cal said, the white shirt waving in his hand as emphasis, "I mean, its me, so it doesn't really matter, but grey seems safer."

Having talked himself into it, with the trust of his 'friend', Cal tossed the white shirt onto the stable and started getting dressed. It was going to be a good day, he could feel it, and he would be okay, he was always okay.

━━━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━━━

There wasn't many new people but two caught his attention. It wasn't because they were good looking, because they both were, but being extremely good looking was almost a requirement at SIN, or so it seemed at times, it wasn't because they looked particularly inviting, no, it was because he knew them! Both of them. They would 'visit' sometimes, as a child, they were some of the very few other children he got to see when he wasn't 'fixing' someone. They'd look into his room from the other side of the glass.. well, sometimes. They often looked very bored or disinterested in what they saw, but it didn't matter because he knew them. Which.. was an odd feeling. Cal had never known someone before they came to SIN before and it was both oh so very exciting and a little unnerving. Did he pretend like he didn't know them? Or did he approach and say hello as if it was normal? Would they even want to speak with him? They didn't look pleased to be here, which only brought up more questions like why were they here.

It was weird to see them without the man who went around. The man who made the assistants and doctors jump whenever he spoke or gestured. Now they were going to live here with the rest of them? Cal wasn't sure what to make of it and from the murmurs of people around him, it seemed they didn't either and many were not happy to see the two of them. He could understand that. Those two got to live outside. They weren't tested like they were. They didn't have to be looked at like a caged animal, but... it was still so very interesting and Cal could only imagine what their life was like and what they had seen and what they could tell him about it. He was so glad he had picked that grey shirt.

━━━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━━━

Cal looked around the room, the flimsy paper plate in his hand stacked dangerously high with goodies most notably an unhealthy amount of mozzarella sticks and taquitos. His crystal blue eyes scanning the crowd looking for them. He spotted many he recongized from the trio of Katia, Lyla and Caleb which he would have loved to have gone over and said hi if he wasn't afraid that Caleb would do.. whatever it is that Caleb did to Rosario eating enough steak to endanger the entire bovine race, but it took a few minutes to find them. When he did, his heart jumped as his mind reconfirmed what he already knew, he did know them! They were hard faces to forget, the high cheekbones and defined features that looked like an artist was sculpting what he considered to be an 'ideal person' rather then an actual human being. The fact they were standing alone as if determined to keep the 'filth' away from them or the rather sharp way their eyes seemed to cut into anyone that looked in their direction were not enough to discourage Cal for he had a mission.

Cal weaved his way through the crowds with a grace that only he was capable of, meaning he nearly tripped twice, bumped into no less then three people and lost two mozzarella sticks to the floor gods as he approached his goal. Mere feet away, Cal gave the dangerous duo a small wave with his free hand, "Hi! I'm Callen, you can call me Cal," he said, his blue eyes looking between them before settling on the woman because the man reminded him a bit too much of Caleb, "If you want to that is, I mean, you don't have to," he said, his smile shaky as he rambled through his introduction, "But everyone does, or I mean, most people do cause it is easier, you know? Not that Callen is so hard to say, but I think people see me as more of a 'Cal', slightly 'less' then a Callen, if that makes sense? No, of course it doesn't, that's dumb," Cal winced as he reprimanded himself on his own nonsensical drivel. He felt like some kind of insect that had crawled up to them and was doing its best to ruin their meal which did not help with his nerves at all.

"So, um, yeah, hi!" He finished with fake enthusiasm.

Anvindr Lokni
「Pain is more than just physical.」

The lonely room, bare of any personal touch and the location of so much pain for Anvindr Lokni over the past 2 years was something he was more than ready to leave when the 'New Recruits' day was ready to begin. It was one of few days he had the chance to make new friends. Friends who didn't know how much he could hurt them. Friends he hadn't already hurt. Sure he had Clara and Katia, both of which both worked to help him and be his friend at the same time. He looked up to both the girls and was thankful for their presence, tho it didn't show much when they did get to meet. Usually he was trying to hurt the staff when they arrived and it was quite the mess. He hadn't snapped in a while, so he felt safe trying to go to the meeting room instead of ditching immediately to train or something.

His wardrobe was standard, what every other level 5 was dressed in as well. The only major difference was he always hat to have long sleeves when going to interact with the others, and his gloves. Couldn't risk someone getting hurt by accident. He didn't mind it that much, though he did wish there was a little more variety. It got old wearing basically the same outfit every day, especially when you were a 17 year old who had a decent sense of fashion at one point in time. Anvindr, during the speeches, seated himself in a corner, away from everyone and most certainly away from the tables. While he enjoyed the feeling of happiness that seemed to hang in the air, he found it hard to be involved with the others. He also didn't want to push it and accidentally snap.

His spot remained basically the same after the speeches, seated comfortably on the floor in that corner. He was hungry, but so it seemed many people were. He didn't have the want do try to get to a table right then. A smile found his face as he spotted Lyla enter, and then Katia, but he stopped smiling when his eyes landed on Caleb near the girls. While Caleb was admittedly hot, the older male scared Anvindr. He didn't want to interact with him, and he knew Caleb wanted nothing to do with his weak self. His eyes traveled to Callen, who seemed to have found some newcomers to talk to. Maybe he'd try to talk to Callen later. Rosario was seated at ta table with alot of food, he noticed, and definitely did not look like he needed more company.

He would be drawing, if it were not for the fact that he was not supplied with drawing supplies. By personal choice and by SIN's choice. They'd tried it once. Anvindr had found he couldn't draw as he'd like with the gloves on, and took them off. That ended with this drawing supplies eaten away, and from then on he didn't ask for drawing items anymore, nor did SIN offer. For the best really. So there Anvindr stayed. Watching, quietly, humming to himself and staring off into space.

Adrien couldn't be more annoyed at the situation he was supposed to be one of the minds of SIN, not his pawn, but now he and his sister were put inside just like the others the people they saw behind that glass were now around them, he wasn't supposed to be surrounded by these people he wasn't their equal and now they were put on the same level due to the death of their father. Alex told them that due to the incident the privilege of them living outside was taken back and they needed to be under SIN since they weren't at level one at that moment he hated being a two, but he preferred being that level rather than being a level five once again he wouldn't accept being at the same level as the newcomers not after all the years of loyalty to SIN and somehow they understood it. "Those clothes are hideous and really they expect that we get along with these people. And how old do they think we are? Five-year-olds? The least I want to do is to become friends with them" his sister admitted, she was as angry as him to be there, but she was the one that still would criticize a gathering and the clothes someone was wearing besides being annoyed for the situation "Sounds like you haven't lost your attitude, while even being here" Adrien admitted sarcastically, he wasn't in the mood to hear his sister rambling about clothes and food at that moment. He just wanted to be alone and get out of there without having to talk with anyone that wasn't his twin, but that's when a guy when to introduce himself. Adrien remember him but didn't pay a lot of attention to him but he was one of the guys that has been most of his time at SIN or that's what he remembered someone could say they even grew up together but a glass and a different life kept them separated, but that was the first time he has heard his name in his entire life "How nice now that we are here they think we can be friends" Adrien mumble sarcastically to himself not caring if Cal had listened to him, he didn't want to talk to him but at least Jessica would have someone else to ramble that day besides Adrien.

Jessica hated being there, Adrien and her weren't supposed to be there, she hated SIN's decision of putting inside their facility with the rest, but at least they were brilliant enough to make them a level five, SIN needed them to do their dirty work instead of having them inside receiving basic training, they have been with SIN since they were kids so giving them a proper level was the least they could do.
She couldn't see the day where she would be a one and could have her own place outside of this cell "Those clothes are hideous and really they expect that we get along with these people. And how old do they think we are? Five-year-olds? The least I want to do is to become friends with them" She admitted to her brother annoyed as much as she hated being a level two she would die if she had to use the clothes from level five "Sounds like you haven't lost your attitude, while even being here" her brother replied to her sarcastically he was furious of being there too, but he used to keep everything to him while Jessica was the one that would speak her mind.
When a new guy came to talk to them and introduce himself, Jessica rolled her eyes at the rambling of words of the new guy, she only caught that his name was Callen but had the face of someone that would be called Cal "Cal, right? I don't which one you are trying to impress but with that blurt of words and that shirt you would never get the attention of someone specially a girl" she admitted without any filter.

12 hours ago;
With a sudden jolt, Clara Athena Rosenberg sat upright in her bed as sweat dripped down from the side of her face and her heart hammered erratically against her chest. Another nightmare, another day in the Hell hole. But, what did she have to lose and where did she have to go? The hours passed by in the blink of an eye during assignments, but back at headquarters, time seemed to be playing tricks on the mind or it just loved to play games with her. Whatever the case was, Clara also known as Thea didn't ponder on such idle thoughts long enough to trap her mind in an endless loop.

Although her bunker was as "homey" as she could make it, the memories of her time outside as a level one was far from her memories. Everything was an absolute blur and the days became all mixed up together. But, what she feared the most was forgetting the face of her loved one, her closest friend Remmy Cox. Remmy lived on her dreams and nightmares and whether it was a bad dream or a good nightmare, Thea found herself grasping at straws, at anything, to keep his memory alive. In her mind, he was always there with her, no matter what and SIN wouldn't take that away from her. Never. She knew, wherever he was, out there. He is alive and thriving. Waiting to make the next move. It comforted her and knew he'd come back for her, always. No matter how much SIN wanted to get it out of her, Remmy had been brilliant enough to keep his plans a secret from her, keeping her in the dark in case something like this happened. For them, it felt like a victory, no matter how small.

But, as soon as that thought flashed in her mind, another one appeared as she hissed. Quickly grabbing a towel and putting it in her mouth, Clara closed her eyes and placed her hands on both sides of her head. Before she knew it, Thea screamed loudly, flashes of lights, blood, scattered glasses, and explosions rewinded in her mind as her powers became out of control. Memories of her speaking to others, controlling their minds and calming them down with her voice and most of all, memories of a building collapsing with over 10 people dead and 20 people injured flashed like an alert sign in her head. The ringing of the warning bells blared around her bunker.

It was one of her episodes,
again.

She was a
machine.

A monster.

Out of control.

No thoughts were her own and she could only continue her outburst only to be shot by a tranq dart, not even moments later.

With one last scream, her voice began to give out. Tears dripped down her cheeks and with a small whisper, she croaked,

"Help."

One hour ago;
"Vital signs?"
"Check."
"Heart rate?"
"Check."
"Blood pressure?"
"Check."
"Great, we are a go."

With a small flutter of her eyelids, Thea slowly opened her eyes, squinting at the bright, white light shining down upon her. Where was she? Her eyes looked towards her left as she saw a nurse and to her right, one of the scientist. Shaking her head, Thea tried to wiggle her fingers, toes, legs, and arms but to no avail. She couldn't move. Stuck in one place. Frozen. Panic began to seep in as she started to wiggle through the straps that were trying her down. She hated being chained.

"Let. . . ." She weakly started, still trying to thrash around, "me. . . out."

But, before Thea could continue to wiggle anymore, a sharp pain shot up inside her arm as she looked down, seeing a syringe injected into her skin as she watched the chemical seep in. Furrowing her brows she bit her lips. Must be another check-up from the last assignment? With a confused gaze, Thea looked between those around her, staring them down intently as she waited for an explanation. What was today's date. . . ?

"Looking like a lost pup there, Clara." One of the doctors came in, smelling like rubbing alcohol and peppermint like always. "Don't worry, everything checks out. Seems you had a small mishap during one of your assignments. But, don't worry. You finished it extremely well. Good work." Doc grinned, though Thea never felt comforted by his creepy smile.

Nevertheless, she never questioned it and merely nodded, just wanting to leave the vicinity and go back to sleep in her bunker. She missed her bed. However, before Thea could close her eyes, another worker came in - the most dramatic and quite annoying one of the higher-ups. Although he didn't hold a candle to Alex, Thea still had to listen to this rambling. . . nut job. Was a cousin or close family friend of Headquarter's or so.

"Well, everything looks good. Your clothes are in the closet. Get changed! It's new recruit day. Make sure to wear your best attire and be on the look-out! You're one of the best!" The man came over to pat her shoulder and Thea resisted the urge to hiss at him for touching her, instead, she coldly looked at him expressionlessly hoping he would get the fuck away from her.

Soon, it was . . . showtime and Thea could only mentally roll her eyes but also a part of her felt empathy for the new recruits. She just hoped everyone was on their best. . . behavior.

Currently;
The ceremony finally ended, however, the one thing that kept her awake was the fact that two of the new recruits. . . . seemed so familiar. Something about them screamed as if she knew them already but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. No matter how hard she tried to force herself to figure out who those two new twins were, the more Thea found herself getting loss in a maze of her own doing. She couldn't figure out and it bothered her to no end. Although Thea would love to figure out the puzzle, she noticed. . . Callen walking towards them already in a friendly manner, as he always does. Clicking her tongue and biting her lip, Thea could only shake her head. She wondered if one of them would angry burst out or just stare at him down and wait for him to leave them alone. Or, in a weird, hopeful way, perhaps they could befriend . . . her childhood. . . acquaintance.

Whatever they decided, Thea found herself interested for a moment only to find her attention elsewhere. With a small inward sigh, Thea could only imagine the chaos that could erupt seeing that not only Lyla and Caleb together but, also noticed Katia linked up with them. Although she would love to sit and watch, her head was already ringing and the rumbling sound of her stomach was no joke. Perhaps it was time to. . . .eat, and relax or solo-train. Not knowing why, Thea felt more exhausted than usual and couldn't help but find no interest in talking with others. Instead, Thea opted to subtly head to the food station to quench her hunger. But as she made her towards the food table, she noticed an all-too familiar silhouette. Rosario.

Biting her lip once more, Thea wondered if she should saddle up next to him nonchalantly putting food on her plate without saying anything and ignoring him or attempting. . . to converse using sign. Thea didn't know whether the male was comfortable around her but, she more than knew his temper. Unconsciously Thea gently rubbed her cheeks not feeling any bumps or scars on her face. However, not feeling any bruises or battle marks made her even angrier. Her eyes darted quickly over to Callen as she gritted her teeth. It was her battles and her wounds. The idea of that . . . liberating feeling of feeling alive made her feel angered even more. But, not today. Thea wouldn't . . I would try not to think of such. . . . issues.

Nevertheless, Thea took another step only to notice at the corner of her eye someone sitting at the table. A small thought came to mind as she looked between Rosario and Anvindir. Without wasting anymore time, Thea slowly walked towards the table of food, taking one plate in her hand before turning her attention towards Rosario seeing that his back was towards her. To get his attention she lightly tapped his shoulder before waving. Although she had kept a small notepad and pen in her pocket, with her hand fulls with the plate of food, she decided to improvise.

Signing, Thea said, "Food. Eat. Table. Over there?" To add onto what she wanted to say, Thea decided to play "charades" as she began to make movements of her picking up food in her plate once more before pointing towards the empty seats in the table next to Anvindir and a "come on" hand motion for him to follow her over towards the table.

Once Thea arrived at the table Anvindir was sitting at, Thea gave a small smile and another small wave as she extended her hand towards the seat, hoping she could sit there. Once she was able to place her food on the table across from Anvindir, with her free head, Thea took out her notepad and pen only to write, "Mind if I sit here? And if Rosario understood me, we can eat together?"

As soon as Thea finished writing, she placed the notepad on the table, wanting to read Anvindir's expression as well as see if Rosario understood her message to come sit with them as she did another wave of motion to come sit.

Who knew interacting could take much . . work. Thea sure didn't. Absolutely exhausting.

「Thoughts and headaches go hand in hand.」

A certain mind reader was all for the new arrivals day. It was a chance to figure out how many of them knew what was going on, what they were feeling, and how she could work with that. Corvina was one of the first to arrive to the meeting hall, and snagged a prime seat for the speeches. Her outfit didn't really matter, it didnt change often anyway from a pair of dark skinny jeans and some kind of hooded top. Today, the top was a darker maroon in color. Throughout the speeches, she merely watched those around her, staying out of heads for the time being. Her eyes caught on a familiar pair of twins, however, and she was tempted to figure out what was up with them.

After the speeches, Corvina wandered to the food tables and grabbed a slice of pizza and a fork. She made her way to one of the quieter tables and took a seat to eat her pizza, by cutting it with her fork and then eating it. Her attention was elsewhere, though, as she had begun her process of evaluating the new recruits. The majority of them proved to be nothing of interest to her, so she moved on. By the time she finished her pizza, she'd reached the familiar twins, the ones she was the most curious about.

She watched Callen talk to the twins for a second, almost worried about the nerves he was showing for a second. That thought slipped from her mind a second later as she focused in on the first of the twins, the girl. Jessica, her name was. She rolled her eyes at the response Jessica had to Cal as it crossed the girls mind. At first glance she didn't seem like the most friendly person ever. But that wasn't what Corvina was looking for, so she kept digging.

As always, the new member introduction ceremony was an interesting event. The first year, when he’d been a new recruit, he had hated it with every fiber of his being. Ezra disliked most people, especially those involved with S.I.N., and being forced to socialize with his captors hadn't gone spectacularly. Over the years Ezra had grown to almost like the event, it meant fresh meat, which meant less time experimenting on the rest of them.

The new girl was rather pretty, but he could see even from across the room that she viewed herself as above all of them just from the way she reacted to Cal's friendly approach. He was going to have fun getting into fights with those two. Most people here didn't particularly like Ezra, his blunt nature and brash attitude offended most people, not that he particularly cared. The only people who seemed tp put up with him were Thea and Lyla, which suited him just fine. He didn't need friends, he didn't need anyone.

When Ezra had first arrived five years ago he had resisted everything, fighting against the doctors anytime they'd tried to drag him away to test his abilities. They put him in solitary confinement for a while until he eventually gave in, pushing him and his powers to his absolute breaking point, and from then on Ezra had realized there was no return and accepted his new life. There was no one waiting for him out side, no life for him to return to. He couldn't imagine living in normal society and working a nine to five job. Ezra was a killer, and that was all he would ever be.

His least favorite part of these gatherings was the lack of alcohol, but he would gladly take advantage of the free gourmet food. It was much better than the purely nutritious food they fed them to keep them in shape. Filling his plate up with food, he looked around the crowded room to spot the already with Anvindir and one of the newer recruits...Rosario maybe?

Two of his favorite people to bother were Caleb and Katia, they were probably the easiest to anger in the whole building. He'd learned the hard way not to push their buttons too far though, Katia had given him a taste of what her nightmarish illusions could do and earned herself a few days of solitary, but she'd made it well known to him that she'd gladly do it again.

"What's a guy gotta do to get some liquor around here?" He complained to Lyla, giving her sly smile as he came to stand beside the pink-haired girl.

Once Rosario had felt that he had eaten enough to eat in the moment and decided to scan the area. A few more faces that ranged from overly familiar to completely unknown. It always amazed him that he literally lived in the same building with these people and have no idea what their names are unless they were used as instruments during your own training. Rosario took in a deep breath and tried to get used to the scent sensory overload. Sound wasn't as much of an issue as it was when he first started training but scents were another issue entirely. While the seemingly stand offish twins shared a similar underlying scent of sage that differed between them, Cal's scent of humid summer air seemed to go with his bright personality. "I never would've thought that there would be a day when I end up contemplating the way people smell...Honestly seems kind serial killer-y when I think about, " The way he laughed to himself after realizing how wild he sounded caused a few to glance at him in slight confusion.

Rosario had for once been entirely too focused on identifying scents to notice that Thea had walked up. Before he could spin around completely, his body had already entered a tense state that only worsened when he realized who it was that tapped his shoulder. He offered the girl a wide grin while his more animalistic instincts wanted nothing more than to for him to bare his fangs,
"What's up Thea?" After speaking, Rosario immediately tried to recall the few signs that Thea had taught him. He fumbled through the signs for 'hello' and 'Thea'. It was even more of a struggle for him to understand the signs for everything she signed after that and all he could do was tilt his head in confusion. He figured it'd have something to with food after the little charades game that Thea played and followed behin after stocking up a whole new plate with meat and the mushrooms that he had taken a liking too.

He jogged over to where Thea had taken a seat from across from Anvindir and placed his own plates beside the rather quiet boy. Of all the confusing scents gathered around him, Rosario had the most difficulty wondering whether or not he really loved or disliked Anvindir's scent. The boy smelled of a strange blend of lavender, cayenne pepper, and some mildly acidic smell, that Rosario couldn't name, that occasionally spiked strength and potency. The best way he could explain would have been as 'a sweet scent that stings'. As he sat down, Rosario gave the Anvindir a quick look over and tried to not look intimidating, "Hope you don't mind having a join you for lun- dinner I think. Yeah, it's probably better to call this dinner." At first glance, most people wouldn't peg Lyla and Caleb to be as close as they were. She couldn't rightly blame them, either-- he did come off quite standoffish. She knew that Caleb preferred it when people stayed out of his business, but she didn't mind so much when people asked her about him. She got to see a side of him that most people didn't, and she cherished him as the protective older brother she'd never had.

In the main area, Lyla lingered by the door, still feeling some of that 'new person' anxiety. She wished Caleb had come with her, but she couldn't blame him for not wanting to make an appearance. Someone coughed from behind her and she shot out of the way, taking a few more steps into the room. Recognizing Katia, Lyla breathed a little bit easier and headed towards the girl.

"Thank you for saving me from bashing my head against the wall." Lyla recognized the joking tone in the feisty woman's voice, and a small smile grew on Lyla's own features.

"Of course." She shrugged one shoulder, her eyes still on the others around them. "I don't see quite as many new faces." She commented offhandedly. Before she could say more, she felt the energy in the room shift. Her eyes automatically shifted to the door, where Caleb stood, freshly showered and looking uncomfortable. Her small smile grew into a grin. "I knew he'd come."

He spotted her milliseconds later, and started in their direction. "Oh, look who finally decided to join the party." Katia commented, to which Lyla snorted.

"He only came because I guilt tripped him."

"Exactly." He muttered, crossing his arms across his broad chest. "Good to see you, Kat." He didn't look at her, but his voice did soften just a touch. "Anybody look promising?"

"You can't think of them like that, Caleb." Lyla chastised. "They're people, just like we are."

"They're government property." He corrected her, his frown deepening. "Just like we are."

Lyla sighed, but didn't say anything back. Instead, she just continued to look around, recognizing Cal and a few others. She realized there were a few people she didn't see, and just as she turned to Katia to make small talk about it, one of those people popped up.

"What's a guy gotta do to get some liquor around here?" Lyla jumped at the sudden voice, her head jerking in Ezra's direction.

"Oh, uh-- hi, Ezra." Lyla could feel herself growing pinker the more she stumbled over her words, but once she started, she couldn't stop. "L-liquor? Oh, jeez, um. We can't have-- but you know that." Reaching up to grab the ends of her hair, she twirled them between her fingers, pursing her lips as she looked away from him. "Some vodka would be nice right now, though."

This was not his scene.

Too many people, too much energy. With the way his power worked, he subconsciously drew energy from others without meaning to. It was never enough to hurt them; barely enough to be noticed, even. It was when he focused on you and tried that was scary. Whether he wanted to blast you from the earth or make you suffer from the inside out-- he was good at it. He worked hard for SIN, and wanted to be the best.

He spotted Lyla a few seconds after entering. It was hard not to, with her colored hair. He adjusted the strap of his gym bag as he headed in her direction, spotting Kat as he got closer. His steps faltered, but his recovery was smooth-- if he was lucky, the movement wouldn't even be noticed.

"Oh, look who finally decided to join the party." He rolled his eyes in response to Kat's jibe, though shot Lyla a glare at her snort.

He knew she wanted to say more, and probably would later, but for now she let it go. Ezra joined them a few moments later, and Caleb felt his eye twitch. He was itching to use that guy as target practice, but everytime he tried, the girl he'd adopted as his sister stopped him for some fucking reason. What didn't she understand about that guy being a slimebag?

"I heard there's some liquor in hell." Caleb muttered. "You know, on the off chance you wanna do us all a favor and go jump off a bridge."

Callen looked between the two siblings at an utter loss of what to do. One of them wanted nothing to do with him and the other wanted nothing to do with him and was telling him so. Sure, a lot of new arrivals were like that, wanted to be alone to figure out what was going on, but this was different. These two weren't new, they had been there before, for the first time, he was speaking to the two from the other side of the glass. He had... imagined this all going so very differently. When he was younger, he used to imagine they felt a bit like he did even as they looked oh so bored and disinterested. That they too wondered about the kid on the other side of that glass, wondered what it would be like to talk, to laugh, to do anything besides stare and become consumed by the silence. He knew, even before he spoke to them, that it was childish. Not everyone was like him, but even as he had learned how people were, a small part of him, that scared kid in his cell, hoped someone wanted to talk to him as much as he wanted to talk to them. That had dreams of meeting them, as they had him. But it wasn't like that. Because Cal was special. Always said in a tone similar to what she was using as she spoke down to him even though he knew the tone, he didn't quite understand the insults. What was wrong with his clothes? Cal picked at his shirt and looked down at it, but he had gotten to pick. White or grey. That was one of the only decisions he got in his life, was it really so bad? W-Was there shirts he was supposed to be wearing instead? The way she had stressed 'girl' had also put him a bit on edge. She was beautiful, very beautiful, but that was almost common. It always seemed like people that were 'special' were good looking, which was always a bit strange and the doctors always shrugged at him before injecting him with something new whenever he pointed this out, but even still she was different.

What was he supposed to do? "Um," Callen said if only to fill the silence as he looked around at all the people coming in, many of which he knew, and the food. A large part of him wanted to run and hide, just crawl under a table from his failed attempt, to nurture the crushed dreams of a small child, but he didn't want to. Today was going to be a good day... Today was New People Day, today was supposed to be special, he didn't want today to become like every other day, hiding and hoping it wouldn't hurt as much today. "W-What should I wear?" Callen asked, his bright blue eyes swimming with a mixture of confusion and curiosity, for lack of anything better but also to fill a curiosity. If he wasn't supposed to wear the grey, should he have gone for the white? Was there something else he should have worn? He knew other people, such as level ones and twos as well as staff sometimes wore interesting clothing and colors but he never got the point of it all. It was just clothing... Although some did make some women stand out a bit more, but she couldn't possibly mean for him to wear those kind of cloths, right?

"Maybe others are less likely to say yes than we were." She shrugged, though she figured that probably wasn't true. Very few people said no to S.I.N., even living in this horrible prison was better than death for most people. In truth, she figured there were less recruits because their kind was becoming less common. Most of them were either in here already or dead, and it wasn't like they were having children of their own to spread the gene flow. Perhaps S.I.N. hadn't thought their plan all the way through.

Before their conversation could continue, Lyla pointed out the arrival of Caleb and the brunette suddenly found herself flustered. Without fail the presence of the taller boy made her feel more chaotic than usual, and it had nothing to do with his energy manipulation. Though he didn't meet her eyes she gave a smile at his acknowledgement before turning to look back at the newcomers, her green gaze sweeping over them critically. She couldn't place it exactly, but something about the twins put her on edge and she was going to stay as far away from them as possible.

Speaking of people who put her on edge, her least favorite person decided to stroll over and strike up a conversation before she'd really had the chance to talk to her friends. Ezra loved to push her buttons, in fact he'd experienced the accidental wrath of her powers within a week of arriving at Thunder. Despite warning him well in advance what might happen if he didn't leave her alone, the annoying idiot had continued to bother her and her pent up frustration had unleashed itself through her powers, the staff had to pry her out of her mind where she was torturing him. It had seemed like he'd learned his lesson for a while, but it had been several years since then and he continued to try to get under her skin in as many ways as possible.

Before she could tell him to go to hell, Caleb beat her to it. It didn't seem to affect Ezra whatsoever as he continued to flirt with poor Lyla. She had no idea what her friend saw in him, but she wasn't one to judge. "If they put me with him on my first assignment back out in the field I'll actually kill him." She sighed, turning to Caleb with a frown.

It was rather cute the way that his mere presence flustered the pastel-haired girl. Lyla was one of the few people who didn't seem to outright hate him, though unfortunately her body guard Caleb did. Admittedly, it was rather fun to piss off the slightly taller male and getting to talk to a beautiful girl while doing it only made it that much better. He enjoyed talking to Lyla, most of the others didn't like him or were too boring to talk to, but she seemed to genuinely want to have a conversation with him, it there were only so many ways to pass the time that he wasn't training, so whether energy boy liked it or not he spent a decent amount of time around her.

He rolled his eyes at Caleb's jab, turning to regard him with a sly smile. "You'll have to let me know when you get there." He replied, giving Katia a wink to piss both of them off before turning back to Lyla with a genuine smile. "Maybe they'll send us out together and we can sneak off to find some booze." It was the only real freedom they ever got, which was why Ezra tried to make his assignments last as long as possible. There was no point in trying to impress S.I.N. on missions, so he took his time and enjoyed as much of his selective freedom as he could. It wasn't exactly that he missed the outside world, it had been more than cruel to him, but he didn't like being locked up in a cell and being told what to do. It was his only real problem with Thunder.

Anvindr Lokni
「Pain is more than just physical.」
Anvindr's spaced out semi-peace was interrupted by one of his favorite people coming to join him at his table. He blinked at Clara a few times, then read the message she wrote out. A smile found its way to his face and he nodded. "I don't mind at all!" He replied, his eyes searching out Rosario who was also on his way over to the table with a plate loaded with meat and mushrooms.

The young lad's smile didn't leave when Rosario took a seat beside him. "That's a lot of food." He commented lightly, his eyes wide as he looked at Rosario's loaded plate. The aroma of both plates of food now placed near him was actually making him a little hungry as well. His eyes traveled to the tables where food was laid out, but he found himself unwanting to go anywhere near the crowds of people over there. Then an idea popped into his head, though he wasn't sure how well it would go over with the admittedly rough but good looking male beside him. He eyed the plate of mushrooms and meat, then looked at Rosario himself.

"I hope you don't mind..." A gloved hand reached over to the amazing looking plate of food Rosario had carried over with him and stole a mushroom off said plate, which he then proceeded to eat with a smile. He adjusted how he was sitting so it was a little more proper, as he had been sitting with one knee up. He was now sitting criss-cross atop his chair, watching both Clara and Rosario casually. "What do you guys think about the new... additions?" Anvindr questioned both Clara and Rosario, hesitation heavy in his voice has he said 'additions'. He knew just as well as any of them that the new faces here weren't recruits, but more additions for SIN's collection, though there seemed to be steadily getting to be fewer each time.

A soft sigh of relief escaped her lips when Anvindir didn't mind her disrupting his peace as her fingers absentmindedly tapped on the surface of the table. In a few quick movement, looking at the bench, Thea wiped the seat with a napkin, not wanting dust on her before sitting down across from Anvindir. Soon, Rosario approached with more plates filled with food than she thought possible as her lips curved up into a bemused smirk. With a small head tilt, Thea merely shrugged her shoulders before agreeing with Anvindir's remark of having so much food. But, with a surprise inaudible gasp, Thea's eyes widen as Anvindir reached towards Rosario's food. Her heart nearly stopped as she felt her throat clog hoping Rosario wouldn't chew Anvindir's head off. If there was anything that Thea could assume about Rosario, it was the fact that he was, in fact, someone that held on tightly to their items, especially food - due to it being human nature, or his . . . animalistic side. But, regardless, Thea could only carefully watch between the two across from her. God, she hoped nothing would come out of this scenario.

"What do you guys think about the new... additions?" Anvindr questioned both Clara and Rosario.

Thea's posture changed immediately, her brows furrowing together as she sat up straighter, almost as if she was in an interrogation room with the others. With narrowed eyes, Thea glanced over at the newcomers, but even more so the twins that seemed to have a bored and air of "betterness" about them. Thea couldn't help but feel a slight wonder if she knew them from somewhere before but couldn't put her tongue on it. With small shake of her head, Thea wrote on the notepad once more,

"Familiar. But, like most new. . . additions, the shock wears off after awhile. Maybe a good show could happen soon . . . though, I wouldn't hold your breath."

As soon as she finished writing her thoughts, Thea ripped the piece of paper and slide it towards them. As harsh as it sounded, Thea hated having to approach new . . recruits -- training with them and having to make them go against their will when she, herself, didn't have a great hold of her own. Breaking of another's will? Death or life? This. . . choice wasn't living but merely existing for a supposed "greater" cause. With another comment in mind, Thea began writing again,

"But, how about the two of you? Are you settling in? Is there anything you need?"

She finished writing, only to shake her head, knowing that she had to calm both boys more than once. With a slight itch, Thea added onto the note,

"Since we have time to ourselves, we can explore the compound, sketch and you're more than welcome to bring food if you need."

Rosario's laugh that followed Anvindir's comment on his stack of food was pretty jolly. It wasn't the first time he's heard that he eats enough for at least 5 people, even before he had been taken in by S.I.N. It never seemed like too much in his own eyes though since [he always manages to pack it all in. "This is nothing more than a good snack before whatever craziness I get dragged into later today." When Anvindir's hand plucked some food from his plate, Rosario's eyes took on a rather cold glint and his normally grey eyes took on an amber-like tint. A low growl escaped that he hastily tried to cover up with a few coughs as if he were just choking on his food.

His only option was to act as if he didn't get territorial over a few pieces of food like some kind of wild animal.
"Feel free to anything you want Anvi since I have plenty to go around." Rosario tried to focus back on the original discussion topic and gave the room a glance. He scratched at the back of his neck as he worked through the best way to describe the new recruits. "They look like they wouldn't be much fun in a fight. The attractive twins look like they'd rather be anywhere else but here and they have a mean scent to them." His nose scrunched up slightly as he shoved an unsightly amount of meat into his mouth before his attention turning towards Thea.

Rosario's eyes had retained that amber color from before as quickly scanned the notebook that she had pushed in their direction. He fumbled badly through his attempt at signing 'I am well' but he may have gotten the sign for 'well' and 'sleep' horribly confused so he decided it was better to just use his words. "It's definitely had its up and downs with physically getting use to everything. Reminds me a lot of my martial arts training when I was just starting out but I think I'm handling it well." A few memories from the abusive early stages and being constantly under the watch of Cassandra flashed in his mind causing him to pout slightly, "I take everything back, I don't support having a dress code when my ability causes me to rip through them like paper. So I guess I need baggier clothes while I wait for the development team to finish with some weird fiber that is able to accommodate my sizes. Can you imagine how embarrassing it would be for other people on a mission if I had to revert back to my human form with no pants whatsoever? Some of the new lab techs won't even look me in the eyes after that first transformation examination."
