As you've probably managed to establish on your own, I'm Runar. I've been roleplaying for roughly four years, but took a break from it around a year ago. Now I'm back, though, and looking for something new.
I'd say I'm a fairly versatile roleplayer. I can write most settings/genres, and can adapt to my partner's writing style. As for post length, I usually write somewhere between 2 - 5 paragraphs, and that's where I'd prefer you were around too. I'm fine playing either male or female roles, and you can play whichever gender you prefer.
One thing that may become a problem is my availability. I'll never abandon an RP without letting you know, but I might be a bit slow replying. Generally, I'll write at least 4 replies every week. Sometimes I'll be faster, sometimes slower. It all depends on how much work I have with school that week.
That was a little about me, now on to you. I don't have a lot of rules, but it's important that you're comfortable with the ones I have.
- Must be able to handle mature themes. Obviously nothing sexual(That's against site rules, after all), nor am I into extreme gore, or anything like that. All I need is for you to be able to handle swearing, violence, etc.
- Try to have your characters behave like a real person. You've probably also experienced other roleplayers having really over-the-top characters that ruins an entire RP. No disrespect to those people, I just don't personally enjoy that. Obviously, I don't mind strange/unusual characters, as long as they behave like actual people, and not like someone out a cartoon.
- Romance is kind of tricky for me. I really enjoy having it when it works out, but I don't want it to become the purpose of the roleplay. The story has to come first. Also, if there's romance I only do M/F. If you'd rather do an M/M or F/F pairing, which I'm completely fine with, there won't be any romance.
- I prefer writing through PMs, but can do threads too if you'd prefer that. I rarely RP off site, but if I really like you you might be able to convince me.
With that out of the way, let's move on to the fun part; scenarios!
I don't really have any very specific scenarios in mind, and there's a very good reason for that. I prefer discussing the plot with (hopefully) you before starting, to make sure we're both on the same page. That doesn't mean we'll have the whole RP planned out before we even write a single word. Just a tiny bit of planning, to make it as enjoyable as possible for both of us.
I do have some rough ideas, though, which I'll write here. As I said before, the plots are very much up for discussion, so if there's something you'd like to change, or if you'd like to suggest something else, that's totally fine with me! Keep in mind, these scenarios are very rough, but I have some ideas that I can share of you're interested in them.
Sci-fi/Futuristic
This is probably what I'm most into at the moment, and I'm into most sci-fi related things. Wether that's a voyage through space, or surviving a nuclear winter, you decide! Here are some of my ideas.
- Scavengers. This would probably be combined with some kind of post-apocalypse or war scenario. Basically, our characters would be scavengers trying to survive some kind of disaster. I have some ideas for this, and I'd love to elaborate!
- Smugglers/traders. This one has the potential to become something great. Basically, our characters would be employed on a trading/smuggling ship, and we'd travel from port to port, no doubt running into a lot of problems.
- Gang. This scenario is definitely more along a cyberpunk style. At least one of us would be member of a big, futuristic gang, fighting rival gangs, stealing, robbing, etc. Wether the other one is also in this gang, a spy, or maybe even a police officer is up for discussion.
Medieval/Fantasy
I'm a big fan of fantasy! I usually tend to lean to the low/grounded in reality type of fantasy, but if you're looking for high fantasy with wizards and dragons, I'd be up for that too! As for scenarios, I have a few ideas.
- Medieval/fantasy post-apocalypse. This could involve something like zombies or orcs, but also something completely different like a plague, or weather.
- Pilgrims. I'm pretty interested in this one. Basically, at least one of us would be a pilgrim, on a journey to a holy place. I have some more ideas for this, so if you're interested, ask!
- Mercenaries/soldiers. This one isn't really original, nor do I have any ideas. I just thought I'd include it since you can do so much with it.
