RpN's Image Proxy

I'd like to answer your question but I'm not sure what specifically you're referring to?

I looked up image proxy but the definition doesn't seem to fit anything we have.

If you could explain, I'd be happy to try to answer your question.

Edit: ok on further research, i think you mean when images are given a new url when pasted/uploaded onto the site. Even just going by what this website is explaining to me, it seems to have a lot of features such as resizing and cropping images, as well as being a safe-guard in case the source is deleted.

Just curious as to why we have an image proxy.

The Image Proxy she is talking about is that when you link an external image, it runs it through an RpN URL.

This is so that the HTTPS does not break when a third party image is not running under HTTPS (Since you can't have non HTTPS content in a HTTPS environment with out breaking the secure connection in the browser) it also has other benefits like speed, security, etc.

Cool. :P

One thing that sometimes bugs me about the proxy, though, is that if I want to share a funny meme or something like that I saw on this site I have to re-download it myself. Maybe there could be some way to have both?

You can copy and paste the image URL from the post which you found it from.  You can also Google search the image using the right click function.  I would not want Wizard to sacrifice the functionality and safety of the site over silly memes.

The first sentence is how I share it on chatango, and it turns into a grey box.

Also, I use Opera because of my shared computer. I think there might be some reverse image search add-on, though.

I agree with the last sentence, functionality and safety over memes.
