Advice/Help RPing on a site after years away… How?

Long story short, I took a few years off of writing and I’m trying to get back into it. I have a desire to come back, but I’m really apprehensive since the RP world has changed so much! It was daunting then, when I wrote before and even when I helped run a successful and popular website!!

What are things that helped you begin to rekindle your love of writing and world building again?

Please tell me I’m not alone in feeling a bit scared to begin again. It’s a lonely feeling, and I’m ready to write and enjoy new plots with characters I love, instead of just re-reading old threads that always end up leaving me feeling sad!

Just feeling a bit stuck tbh!

Sorry to hear you’re feeling this way. If you’ve had success running a popular website, then that’s a good feeling to use as the step to climb back up. You can’t go back and re-live what you’ve done before (so stop reading past threads, lol), but you can do it again.

If you’ve had 3 great writing experiences before, understand you have the opportunity to make a 4th, 5th, and 6th one. And all it takes is you jumping back in again. That potential to create/enjoy another successful moment should excite you enough to try and seek it out again.

Also, reading good stories from either others online or authors out in the world can also push you to want to participate in a good stories yourself. I know it’s scary, but take it slow and look to the future things you can possibly be a part of.

This... Really means a lot, thank you. It can just feel daunting! But thank you for reminding me it can also be exciting. After all, it's for the love of stories, isn't it?
