hey there everybody my friends have abandoned me and wont let me in there roleplay. i dont understand everyday i feel like im a pretty good person i dont understand what i did to deserve this. ill be minding my own business and theyll come out of nowhere with it. this is discrimination towards level 1 amateur roleplayers. if you have any advice let me know thanks. this make me anger.

Well, sorry mate, but I can't really give advice because I don't know the full story. All I can say is that if you're being harassed, report it to the moderators immediately, and they'll take care of it. But I can't give you advice if I don't have a little more detail, sorry.

Look bud, let's break it down:
You are, by report, 22 years old.
You have made 22 public posts in a community that is, for the most part, dedicated to writing.
Three of those posts total 12 periods, there are none in the other 19.
There are, however, eight heart emogis, and the quote "The taboo elements really make my heart go doki doki"...

What are you here to accomplish?!

wut u mean i just like creative writting u saying im no good roleplay

I love satire. It makes my heart all fuzzy. I'm also eating banana nut granola so thats helping.

I've been on both sides. I started roleplaying in the ROBLOX forums when I was twelve and good god, I was terrible. This was six years ago, and since then I have improved substantially.

I, and most of the people that I RP with, were terrible six years ago. Now, I'd say that some of the people that I RP with write at a nearly professional level, and at least one of them is even writing a full length novel and trying to get published. I've excluded people from my RPs on the basis of the quality of their writing before. There's a time and a place for that: If everyone is trying to tell a complex story except for that one guy who isn't a good enough storyteller to write intrigue properly, I don't want him in my roleplay. I don't care about perfect grammar necessarily or flowery prose, but the quality of the writing itself must be such that I don't strain myself trying to figure out what words you're writing - if I need to think about your post, I'd like it to be the ideas.

But there's also a time and a place for letting people who are complete beginners join in roleplays with people better than them. If the RP has a simpler plotline and you can make characters that fall within the expectations of the person who posted and is running it, then you should be allowed to RP so long as your posts are relatively easy to read.

That's just my two cents on the matter, at any rate.

I don't know what happened with your roleplays and why people wouldn't let you join. However, I do know that some roleplays and roleplayers simply need certain baselines to be able to enjoy themselves. Discrimination is rejecting someone without a justifiable reason to do so, but in this case the reason is perfectly justifiable at least from the given information: You're not qualified for what the roleplay is looking for.

There are many, many roleplays perfectly open to people just starting out and while not everyone is really willing to work with new players (because time is unfortunately limited and thus some things just don't make the cut), there are still many that do. On top of that, it's the easiest thing in the world to create a new 1x1 search thread to look for partners who are willing to work with you. It's not as easy to form a group, since GMing is admitedly hard work but as mentioned there are groups that pratically make a point of exhibiting as much freedom as possible such as many school roleplays and sandbox fantasies.

As for whether these people are actual elitists or not there isn't enough information to say. In my eyes, an elitist is someone who considers their own writing to be superior or of absolute quality, and arbitrarily imposes that view with no real grounds. If someone does not do at least one of those things, they're a dick at worst. Leaving aside my own criteria for quality or for minimums however, I think that it is worth of note that if this group is like most, then they are demanding a length minimum and professionally acceptable grammar. Not perfect grammar or novel's worth, but (again, if they're like most) they ain't elitist they're just not chat RPers.
